Local Beer and lemonade vodka

Se called to see if we needed a reservation. We didn't and was seated Outdoors as requested. This was our first time at here. It is a very nice restaurant on a golf course. Food was fresh, filling, delicious and worth the price! Our server Dillon was courteous and attentive. In the far distance was a beach that looked inviting. We'll be back to experience brunch next time.

Penni a la Vodka. It is delicious!

It's Thursday, we had a luncheon at The View Grill in Lattington, NY. We have gone to The View before in the summer after a round of golf. They are renovating the golf course and the several buildings surrounding the parking lot. We were greeted with a large smile from our waitress, Maryann, who treated us as kings and queens. We ordered drinks which were delivered quickly. We had seafood bisque which was delicious. Our entrees were penni a la vodka, Asian salmon and pork loin with mango sauce. Everyone loved the dishes and they looked and tasted great! Another waiter, Vinny, came to our table to see if we wanted coffee with our desserts. It turned out that Vinny went to Locust Valley high school and was a classmate with one of my kids. Small world. Well we finished our meal with a great dessert, strawberry shortcake and cream. Again a wonderful finish for a great food experience. This restaurant is a bit off the main road, but it worth the extra time to get here. If your in the area whether it's golf season or not, The View Grill is a restaurant par excellence! Live well and eat healthy. All the best to you all! Stay safe and keep healthy.

Delicious salmon with roasted tomatoes and crumbled blue cheese

So what I did here is to take my review from August 2018 and add an update. Tonight, in light of the still ongoing pandemic, we all ate outside in the tent. Service was great and we could not ask for better food anywhere. Just loved the salmon with roasted tomatoes and crumbled goat cheese and my friends truly enjoyed the cajun salmon, pork loin and chicken cutlet parm. Jeanine always does a great job here with the food and the team is friendly and efficient. _________________________________________________________________ This is another place I go to for organized events. Our Kiwanis Club holds their regular meetings there and wow... are they lucky. Chef Jeanine always creates something special when I have attended there meetings. This is not just for me, it's the way she does it all the time. This is a really fun restaurant with three rooms including an awesome bar area, which by the way is always busy. Because the retaurant sits on a golf course, overlooking the water, your could not ask for a better place to be. Nice big windows so you can really enjoy "The View." I have had the salmon, pasta, chicken marsala, to name a few. This tasty food is always fresh and delicious. It's not unusual to see Jeanine come out of the kitchen and say hello to the guests. The team here is wonderful... friendly and attentive to detail. Coming here is a very comfortable experience. This is a great spot in Beautiful Glen Cove to come a relax, sit outside (on a good day of course, and enjoy some very well prepared food.

I was looking for some outdoor dining on Long Island during the pandemic. I found the View Grill on Yelp and decided to give it a try. This is located in a country club / golf course. I walked up and found that the indoor restaurant was closed and was directed around the back for the outdoor grill. We ordered: Minestrone Soup - it was ok. not great, but not bad either. Cajun Ribeye - a well seasoned steak on a bed of mash potatoes. mmm. Fish and Chips - fresh battered fish. Food: Food was on par with what you would get from an outdoor grill. This is not really a bad thing, but not something to be proud of either. Ambience: The View Grill provides a great view of the golf course and Long Island Sound in the distance. The furniture is a little worn and feels like rental quality plastic Service: The service was a bit slow, with the server not really checking on us often. TLDR: The View Grill provides a great view of the golf course. If you are here to play golf, this is the best place to eat, but I wouldn't come here just for the food though.

I was at this restaurant over the weekend for a birthday party. I'm giving this restaurant three stars only for their service. Our waiter Ed and the bartender were the only people who cared enough during our time here. The food was just okay like 5/10. They were extremely cheap on the portions when it came for the expensive food. I understand times are tough with making money but we are paying more and would of expected a nice portion to eat. Many people in our party actually left hungry to go get food at another restaurant. The fresh salad plate was a nice portion. The appetizer and entree was definitely not. It was basically a half scoop of penne ala vodka for the appetizer. For the entree we were able to get chicken steak or shrimp. The shrimp entree came with 3 pieces and half serving of veggies and half serving mashed potato. The steak and chicken were sliced in two pieces to make it look like more with the same size mash and veggie. The desserts were nice with the fresh fruit and fresh zeppolis. This was a 90th birthday party with numerous elderly guests. When asked about the air conditioning that was non existent- they said the building was owned by Glen cove and that the city controlled the AC and that this is as good as it was going to get. We were all very hot and sweating. They did give us a fan to put on. Over all I wouldn't go back. The service was nice 8/10 but what we paid for did not match what we received 5/10. We were looking for a nice place to eat and celebrate. It was really an overrated shack

This is one of the staples on the North Shore for good food, service, friendly atmosphere, great views, and reasonably priced meals. Looking for an event space? I've been here numerous times over the past year for various events. Always a good time. Grabbing a drink? They offer a large bar with plenty of room and a tiki bar outside when it is nice out. The lobster tails are outstanding and the onion crusted chicken is absolutely delish. My kids love this also. Can't go wrong with a burger and fries, chicken platter or a Greek salad. Chef Jeanine and her staff are always very accommodating and welcoming. Give them a try next time you are in the area.

This place is super cute! We were here for a not-quite-a-surprise surprise birthday party for my good friend. They had a Sunday morning brunch. I liked that they had a buffet set up and that the food bar was open relatively quickly (hey, I can't help that I get hungry easily, my toddler takes after me in that way). They also had an omelette station and a make-your-own mimosa station with several kids of fresh fruit to add in, like blueberries, raspberries and strawberries. The buffet had your standard fair, the standout for me being the salmon. We ended up spending some time outside where there is an awesome playground - great if the kids need a break from having to sit at a table for too long and a good excuse to grab some fresh air. Fortunately, our troop made it back just as they were getting ready to serve dessert. Our friends family brought in a cake from an outside source, but The View served homemade zeppolis...HOLY CANNOLI. These were SO good. Light, fluffy and just the right amount of powdered sugar on top. And served with chocolate sauce on the side if you wanted it. I mean, for such a simple dessert it's amazing how many places fail to deliver on this tasty treat. But The View has got it down - wowza! Would return for this dessert alone. A cute place on the north shore, family friendly and offering great views.

Do not missed the Carmel bread pudding at The View Grill! Homemade, hot, delicious on a winter day! Healthy fresh salmon with grilled fresh vegetables as a main course helps you indulge. My son enjoyed freshly prepared chicken Parmesan and took an onion crusted chicken order to go. No short cuts in this kitchen. Bravo Chef Jeanine! Update January 28, 2021 Delivery My family just finished generous portions of thick, moist, tender chicken Parmesan special with Cesar salad! The warm Carmel sauce on fresh made beignets was perfect on a very cold winter night! Thank you Chef Jeanine and your team at View Grill.

Cons: I've called this place 4 times in past couple of months for a pick-up order. First time was great and picked up the food and fell in love so much so that it would be a regular on a night that I'd pick up rather than cook. Second time I called and was told to hold on and I literally timed it. After 10 minutes, no one picked up but could hear all the chatter from the bar patrons. Third time I called it was probably picked up by a bar patrons that sounded like he really enjoyed his liquids. Needless to say, he placed me down on bar and after what seemed like a few minutes, I was hung up on. The last and final time I attempted to call for pickup, no one ever picked up the phone. Final result: I believe if you plan on going up there and dealing with the wait, then the food is worth it. As for me being a regular customer, they've lost my business. If they had a working website or some other way of ordering, I may try them again. Otherwise, I won't go there unless I plan to sit and eat there or indulge at the bar: The potential for a great business is there, but maybe they only want to remain as a bar to their regulars.

I've been going to the locations in the city before but I'm so glad they opened one up here. The drinks were delicious we tried the watermelon margarita, passionfruit sour, virgin Pina colada, and brisa de Lima. Made very well. For apps we got the grilled octopus and Nikkei ceviche. The grilled octopus came with two delightful sauces and some grilled mini potatoes. It was tender and flavorful. The Nikkei was like Peruvian tuna poke but I wish it was a little less salty. For mains we went all out. We got the matador combo and an arroz con mariscos and a full platter of jalea. It was enough food for 6 people with quite a bit left over. One of the standouts we never expected was the seafood rice.. the sauce it came in was rich and complex and creamy. Not like a paella, more like a risotto.. that was finished quickly everyone loved it. For the matador combo it is a huge amount of food. The chicken was standout juicy and came with a ton of sides like avocado salad, rice and beans, tostones, and salchipapas and fries. It was all really good and can fill up your party. The other fun food was the jalea, it's a fried mix seafood platter. I enjoyed the seafood used they had a mix of white fish, baby squid, calamari, clams, and yucca fries, all drizzled with this light but umami filled criolla salsa, which is a mix of red onions corn garlic and yumminess. Everyone was stuffed. Finally we had cake that I night and the cappuccinos we ordered were good as well. And the bill wasn't too crazy for 6 people with drinks. The only annoying part was that the roof was a bit drippy it rained and I felt occasionally drips of water on my head..

Wanted Oysters so badly so we went to Teddy Roosevelt Beach for some and an ice cold pacifico from The Sand Box. Well for some crazy reason they were closed . So we took a ride across the causeway and landed up at Shultey's and upon arriving and waiting for 2 minutes with wait staff passing us by left and right finally barkeep says sorry we don't open until 5. Ummm couldn't you have told us that immediately?? Well anyway I decided we leave the car and walk to The Clam Bar @ the bridge and I am so glad we did. I haven't been here in forever. The kids who are out front running this are superb. Each kid was so polite and totally on point. Hot from the walk we were given two cups of ice water which hit the spot. We ordered 2 IPA's and they were delicious . To start we got the seafood sampler- 4 oysters, 4 little necks and 3 jumbo shrimp cocktails omg so good and fresh as can be. Next up were another 6 little necks with a cold seafood salad which was served ice cold in a lettuce boat with shrimp, baby scallops, calamari, celery and onion and that absolutely blew us away. To cap it off we got fish and chips and this might have been some of the best I've ever had. The fish was light, airy and the crust was perfect, not greasy and 3 huge pieces. The chips were beer battered and sprinkled with paprika imo and they were fabulous. We left for the walk back with full belly's, a little sun and a jar of fresh pickles from @Nickypickles and we couldn't be happier.

Fried flounder sandwich $22 Tasteless!!! There was absolutely no seasoning to the flounder nor the batter that it was fried in. I swear it tasted like "nothing." 3. Clam chowder (forgot the price) Upon opening the container, we saw a film of oil on the top. Having lived in New England for a couple of years, I have had my fair share of clam chowders and this was just missed the mark by a bunch. My daughter and I had a spoonful of this chowder and it was awful. The chowder was gritty and not smooth. Also, the color was off (beige color). Yes, it was beige color and not that smooth white color. It had no clam taste, but rather a taste of that bottle container clam juice you get from the grocery store. We never went past after the one spoonful. Yes, it was that awful. 4. Clam bellies (forgot the price) Again, no seasoning. However, it was fresh and the best thing we ate. The clam bellies were good size. The batter was light. Everything about this dish hit the mark (minus the lack of salt/seasoning). The people who worked there were pleasant. They were not rude or disrespectful. However, the way how we were seated was unpleasant. We were a party of 2. We paid for our food. Bought enough of food for 4 people, because we wanted to try as much as we can. However, we couldn't sit at a table next to the harbor. We had to sit at a high table with a busted umbrella that that food stain AND the tables were next to the line. So as you're eating, people next to you are waiting online can look and hear your conversation. Mind you, there was a table left that was next to the harbor but they wouldn't give it to us because they want to give that to a family of 4 or more. It is just very poorly managed or it could be that we're not "special" enough to be seated next to the harbor. Note: Obviously, I don't feel privileged enough to be eating there. When they said they're not willing to give me the seating next to the harbor, I kindly asked them to pack my food to go. Again, the staff was pleasant but their subtle entitlement is what threw me off. I do NOT recommend this place at all for a good seafood fix. There are better places at south shore that will serve "seasoned" food with nicer hospitality.

Seven of us after dinner, chose Valley Piano Bar because its website clearly advertises: "Thursday - It's All About Her. Thursday nights, first cocktail on us for all ladies." Refer to the snapshot here as proof to what I am saying. There were no disclaimers or fine print. Before ordering, I even asked our server to confirm the promotion, and she said yes. We stayed for about two hours, ordered appetizers, dessert and cocktails. When the bill arrived, all 7 "free" cocktails had been charged. The server told us her boss, Nico, instructed her to do so. When I questioned Nico, he first claimed the second drink was free, even though the website clearly says the first cocktail is complimentary. He then said, "Common sense, lady. You can't just come in, have a drink, and leave." That made no sense because we had ordered food not just cocktails. He followed that by saying, "People like you think you can come in, get free drinks, and leave. Don't even come back!" That comment was deeply offensive and made us feel singled out and unwelcome. Whether intentional or not, it left me questioning whether my ethnicity influenced how we were treated. This isn't about the cost of seven cocktails. It's about misleading advertising, dishonesty, and the disrespect shown by management. I had recommended Valley Piano Bar because I'd enjoyed it before, but my friends left shocked by the "boss Nico's" arrogance and unprofessional behavior. We will not be returning, and I hope ownership takes this complaint seriously. Customers deserve honesty, respect, and clarity from businesses that advertise promotions to draw people in.
