Delicious food, with great service, and awesome portions! The ambiance feels like you're in an old 1900's home. Super warm and cozy. Highly recommend to anyone!

Traditional, rustic restaurant with good breakfast options. I had the corned beef with eggs over easy, which was good. Sadly, the cold toast didn't arrive until I was done with my meal. Outside of that, service was good and friendly. It's a nice option for warm meals.

Delicious breakfast spot in Jackson. It gets pretty busy so get up early! The staff was nice and quick. It's a cozy environment. It definitely reminds me of southern comfort breakfast. I got the Huevos Rancheros and it was delicious. I didn't even have to add hot sauce to it, that's how good it was. My friend got the chicken fried steak and thought it was okay. It's a little dry. We also got the biscuit and gravy and the sausage and gravy was good, but the biscuit wasn't the greatest. This is an overall good spot for breakfast l.

It started off not bad we went on a Tuesday around 10 am and had to wait 10 min which I really don't mind. We got seated and got drinks right away that's a plus. But when it came to our server JACKIE.....I really did not enjoy her service at all. When she was taking our order it felt like I was in the military. Very fast and harsh. We waited very long for our food to the point where people after us were getting their food and a couple that was seated no more than 5 min before us were damn near done with there food while my friend and I were still waiting. You might be asking what we ordered. We got full order of biscuits and gravy and I got huevos rancheros. Nothing super crazy in my opinion idk. And we finally got our food after 30 min and it was good. The food was good overall. We wanted to get a cinnamon roll to go and we had asked Jackie when we first ordered but she was persistent that we order it at the end of our meal. After we finished our food we really had to leave and we wanted a to go box and still no Jackie in sight. We had to ask a busser for the box. Then AGAIN WE WERE WAITING FOR BILL and eventually we were just fed up and went to the front to pay. We just wanted to pay and leave at this point but that's when Jackie said that she has our cinnamon roll?! And she MADE us pay for it even tho we never ordered it at the end like she said cus SHE NEVER CAME BACK TO CHECK ON US. We said we didn't want to anymore and she said "well we made it already u have to pay for it". My friend just paid for it cus we NEED TO GO but I'm furious. Idk if it cus I very much look Hispanic and not from Wyoming, But I hope not concerning there's plenty of Hispanics that work there. Idk I just really hated the service after the first 15 min I was there. I work in retail in a big city so ik how stressful this can be but still, it wasn't okay. Good food tho I guess. SIDE NOTE: I found a brush hair or something in the roll -_-

We were on the prowl for some great breakfast, and The Virginian delivered ten fold. If you're a fan of pancakes you absolutely have to order them here. They were so fluffy and had the perfect chew to them. The hashbrowns also hit the spot. Chill vibes and friendly service coupled with fantastic food is always a winner. If I'm ever back in the area I will definitely be returning.

Great food, fantastic service, and a "Down Home" comfort food, type of ambience. We would definitely eat here again.

We spent the…read moreprior many nights at all the "best" restaurants in town - Wild Sage, Snake River Grill, Glorietta, White Buffalo Club - Gather beat them all out without question. While the previous restaurants mentioned are a bit more upscale, Gather is on the more casual side. It's located right at the base of Snow King mountain so you can look out at the mountain. Most of all - the food here was amazing. We are from NYC and are self proclaimed "foodies" - so we don't say it lightly when we say that the chef/menu here was super eclectic in the best way possible. He infused flavors from all different cuisines from Mediterranean to Korean -- without anything feeling overpoweringly ethnic. The pork buns were a 10 - unlike most restaurants that use a chunk of pork belly, it seemed like they cubed pork from the rib and it tasted more like eating a delicious spare rib from a Chinese restaurant - without the fat you often get in a traditional pork belly bun. The Fresno peppers accented the sweetness of the buns brilliantly. For entree my wife had the elk bolognese which was superb. The papardelle had a perfect chew (maybe made in house?) and the meat / sauce itself was wonderful. The real showstopper here though was the pork ribeye. I've had plenty of good pork chops but this was something completely different. This cut and its preparation was unbelievably tender and juicy - it melts in your mouth like a piece of wagyu steak. I truly did not think you could achieve this level of tenderness from a pork. The flavors around it were incredible and it was genuinely one of the best dishes I've ever had - anywhere - period. Kudos to the chef for this masterful creation. If you even marginally like pork - please do yourself a favor and get this!! Lastly - shout out to ELLA, our server, who was kind and warm and honest and attentive throughout the whole meal. One of the best servers we had on our entire trip - she was amazing! Overall - a true 5 stars here - no questions asked!!

It was as if we were being deserted one by one and trying to find someone to take our next order. I ordered the highly recommended elk bolognese and was immensely underwhelmed. The dish came out slightly warm, not hot. So it must have been sitting out for a while before being served. The elk was the most underwhelming part. The meat tasted like ground beef, but bigger chunks. The pasta was cooked well, but I would not order this dish again. The best part of the meal and experience was the pork baos. Tasty and delicious. Overall, this meal was just average.

The weather was low 80's and they had the windows open. It was a great spot to people watch and keep an eye on a storm that was rolling in. I ordered a cold beer - Blue Moon. It was served cold with in the bottle so no orange slice for me. I am sure they would have a served it in a glass had I requested it. They were busy. The young man (host) was not at his station when I arrived, but shortly arrived and asked me how many seats I needed. He was attentive and agreed with me when I suggested the window seat. He chatted briefly about the storm rolling in. When my waiter arrived I knew what I wanted. After reading some reviews on here, I decided to order the crunchy salad with chicken. Beer: no complaints Salad: YES, YES, YES I know that it's not typical to go to a burger place and order a salad BUT let me tell you. The reviews are right! We ordered the pastrami Reuben with fries and ended up splitting it between the two of us. It was absolutely delicious and VERY hearty. The portions here are definitely generous, and one meal was plenty for two people for us. One thing that really stood out was how creative the food seems to be. This doesn't feel like a restaurant simply following the standard pub menu. Several of the dishes sounded like things they've experimented with, developed, and really made their own. There seems to be a lot of creativity and personality behind the menu. The sauce served with our Reuben was especially good. It reminded me of a cross between Thousand Island and a Big Mac-style sauce, but with its own flavor. Whatever it was, it was top-notch and went perfectly with the sandwich. The atmosphere is definitely that of a true bar/pub. We aren't drinkers, and alcohol is obviously a major focus here, from the decor to the overall feel of the restaurant. If you're not a drinker, you may feel a little out of place in the main bar area, so that is something to know going in. That being said, they do have a separate side dining room away from the main bar area, as well as a patio that looked like it would be a wonderful place to sit, eat, and enjoy the beautiful Wyoming scenery. The building itself is definitely older and a little worn down. It appeared clean on the surface, but you can tell the restaurant has seen a lot of use over the years and could probably benefit from some updating and a little extra attention in certain areas. At the same time, the rustic, well-used feel does fit the personality of a longtime local pub. Our one meal came to $25.68, so it is certainly on the pricier side for a sandwich and fries. However, this is Jackson Hole, and higher prices are somewhat expected in a tourist town. Considering how large the portions were, the price was a little easier to justify. Overall, The Bird is a fun, quirky, very casual place with huge portions and some surprisingly creative food. The pastrami Reuben was delicious, the sauce was fantastic, and I would definitely order it again.
