Waterfront is probably my favorite pub of all the pubs on that block (Thames St in Fells). The ambiance is pretty friendly. There's a upstairs part that is more for dining and a downstairs area where there are pool tables and sometimes live bands playing. Downstairs area is definitely more social, but my school likes having social events upstairs (more private area). The food there is pretty decent too. On Tuesdays, they have a 10 for $10 (10 entrees at $10 each), which is a good bargain. read more

Live music every night! Downstairs area can get extremely crammed. There is one main bar down there, but there are TWO bars upstairs. The front area upstairs even has a balcony type cut out so you can see the band and great for people watching! Also, just discovered that the back section of the upstairs has a lounge area, with about 5 couches and it's own bar with sky lights all around it. It is actually a very cool spot. My friend recently reserved the space for a birthday brunch and it was very cool! (They also have a few TVs up there!) I recommend this spot for a gathering for sure! As far as brunch goes... they have $10 all-you-can-drink mimosas, screwdrivers, bloodies, and natty boh till 2pm. I pretty much drank my weight in mimosas and only got a huge headache and no buzz from it. So, I guess I drank a lot of low end OJ with minimal alcohol. But the bartender was on top of it and made sure we were all filled up, so service was decent. Brunch food... they had a lot of tasty SOUNDING options... I got the breakfast burrito, it was a huge disappointment. There was nothing at all special about it, no seasoning or salsa or sour cream or avocado... it was so boring and tasteless. My boyfriend got the steak and eggs ($17) it was great! The steak was a nice plump sirloin and was cooked wonderfully. That definitely saved the day as far as food. Other people said their food was one noted as well. But the garlic fries are on point! Our second night wandering around Fell's Point, we had a drink at a neighboring pub, then decided we didn't want to eat there because the bartender was annoying. We also decided not to eat at Bertha's, or the Greene Turtle, or of course not at Shucker's again. So I picked The Waterfront and it was one of the best decisions during a trip to Baltimore. The upstairs is spacious and comfortable, with good music and a great bartender, who served us our food. I had a phenomenal crab cake with housemade chips, and my dining partner enjoyed his Chesapeake quesadilla. We were there early, before the bands started. I can see the place getting annoying later on. There was already one drunk boy at the bar at like 8:00 PM and he was burping loudly and proudly. I still loved my crab cake sandwich! We stopped here for brunch with some family before heading to a game at Camden Yards. If I was in a less charitable mood, I probably wouldn't be giving this place three stars, but our waitress so was nice that she made up for some really noticeable challenges with the place. I have to admit we probably weren't the dream table our waitress would have asked for; we were a table of 8, several of us were indecisive, and we were probably more than a little loud. However, our waitress engaged us in some great banter, poured some very stiff drinks, and made us feel at home. Unfortunately, when our appetizers arrived, we realized (1) most of the app plates weren't well washed and something was cached on several of them and (2) someone should tell the kitchen to change their fryer oil a bit more often....it was really clear that they had run quite a few batches of fried food through the fryer before our batch of fried oysters went in. Things didn't get a great deal better when the entrees arrived. Portions were huge, but, my breakfast tacos, touted as including the "great" house-made chorizo, were simply bland. The cheesy grits offered as a side (never had grits as a side for a taco....not sure I will again) tasted undercooked and looked to have been sitting on the plate for a while before they got to the table. None of the other folks at the table seemed any more impressed with their brunch than me, either. I'll score that as a resounding "meh....". It was clear our waitress was quite busy and we had a challenge getting her attention as our brunch wound down and we were looking to get our check...not that I think she wasn't providing the best service she could, but that I think she just had too many tables to work on that shift. All in all, I got the impression this place could be hit or miss. I think we got a miss. The $10 all you can drink brunch cocktail is a dangerous, dangerous, glorious thing. They serve them in pint glasses. And they don't skimp on the booze. I think my record was 6 pint-sized screwdrivers over the course of one meal. I must've invented a time travel machine during brunch though, because the next thing I knew it was Monday morning and time to go to work. Weird. Anyway, the food here is standard pub fare, done Baltimore style. Meaning there's crab and Old Bay all over the place. Their breakfast skillets are excellent. Good burgers. Good pastas. Good everything. They also have different dinner specials for every night of the week. Half price quesadilla night was always a favorite of mine. Got a little too crowded for my tastes in the evenings, but earlier in the day, and on weekends, this place was one of my standard go-to establishments when I lived in the area. Came here yesterday (Saturday) for brunch, they have unlimited mimosas, screwdrivers, Natty Boh and bloody Mary's from 10am-2pm for just 10$. And you can mix and match. You can't beat that! The eating area is mostly high tops. And it wasn't too crowded when we arrived around 1130am. Servers were quite attentive. Food is okay, I had the WTF waffle it was yummy but nothing to scream over. Stacy was the best server! She made the most delicious screwdrivers and I left in really high spirits! I came in for brunch and left will a full tummy and a good amount of ones in my pocket! WOW, I mean WTF. This place was a huge surprise to me. Came in on a Thursday around 1pm. There weren't many people here and the place looked more of a bar than a restaurant. I was skeptical at first. But the waitress escorted us to a booth and informed us of the days special (50% off burgers or 20% off the check on weekdays). Obviously I went for the burger! I ordered a Bahn Mi burger. It comes with a load of fries (original, bbq rub, garlic, old bay). I tried the bbq rub and it was on point. The service here was amazing. She gave us her attention, recommended which burger to get, and made sure we had ranch for the fries and enough water. I plan to come here in the future to try out their other weekday specials and also come here in the night time. read more

Then we went back this past weekend and it had changed ownership. Everything about it was worse. The menu was reduced and the food wasn't very good. Our food was a mix of hot to luke warm. They were out of the item that I wanted to order. The side of sausage was one link they cut in half to give the appearance of more food. And I have to mention the music. Around 1:30am the lights went up and multiple male bartenders or security asked us to start moving to the doors. We (group of 4 adult women) expressed that our rides were about 10 minutes away and we needed to finish our beers. These employees repeatedly insisted that we leave, physically removed drinks From out hands, and said that because we were women we were being difficult and that they couldn't put their hands on us. Came here for brunch on a Saturday with a large group of friends, lured in by the $10 bottomless mimosas. I chose not to partake, but the quality of the drinks seemed to be about what you'd expect for the price. I ordered the WTF Benedict, which based on the menu sounded amazing -- avocado, jalapeño bacon, and poached eggs? Sign me up! Unfortunately, this is where it all began to go downhill. When she was actually around (which wasn't that often) the waitress constantly forgot and made mistakes with the drink order, and to top it off was extremely rude when corrected. I am typically willing to tolerate poor service for good food, but I was disappointed in that respect as well. My dish was underseasoned, the hollandaise was watery, and worst of all, the egg was overdone. The eggs came with pre-formed hash browns which were the only part of my plate that I enjoyed; they were crispy and well cooked. I'll avoid making a comment about McDonald's here. I tried two of my friend's dishes and found more bland, overcooked food; at least they're consistent about one thing, I suppose. With this kind of utter disregard for the customer in every respect, I would never go back -- cheap alcohol or no. If you decide to stop by the Waterfront, stick to the alcohol, or go somewhere more deserving of your business. read more

As a local having lived 6 blocks away for 3+ years, have never eaten here or been if not already buzzed. This is the middle child of the hookup holy trinity in Fells (Horse, Point). Go at 11pm on Friday or Saturday when fun and vibrant, skip otherwise. Have witnessed countless stumble out. Less bud light has splashed the floor than Point, probably because most drink Natty Boh. Or it's classier with more lighting than Horse, patrons pick less fights, the warmth of the exposed brick, and the late-night band. Best part is the cool lounge area on the second floor with couches and small bar, way more intimate with the low wood ceilings and famous photos. Worst part of WTF is the coin flip that lands in a puddle of piss: heads) bathrooms lock has been broken on guys door for years and there's only one exposed toilet in middle of the room, no door or anything. This means bad timing and passer-bys catch you on the pot when the doors open. I've seen both urinals overflow onto the floor before. Mind boggling considering Saturday night traffic. tails) bar service is worse than those overflowing toilets. It's thunderdome, defying all rules of even random odds: short-staffing makes you feel like you're skipped over every time AND you'll catch heat if even an eyebrow goes up. read more

I visited The Waterfront Hotel yesterday with some friends for brunch. My coworker put in a reservation for 11am. I love this place. The food and drinks are great. I did find it a little weird that they put ice in their mimosas. I don't know if it's just me or not, but I enjoyed the all you can drink mimosas/screwdrivers that's from 11am-2pm. I honestly was going to give this review three stars because the service was a little off. It seemed like our server would catch an attitude with us. I don't know if it's because the other three people in my party were late due to traffic or if she was having a bad morning, but she did better towards the end. She gave our four top a free shot of fireball, so it kinda made it experience better. I would definitely recommend this place & I will come back one day. read more

I always come on Thursdays for the half off burgers. This is a much better deal than the coopers 5 dollar burgers next door. The best burger is the WTF burger. for 6.50 you get a huge burger with pork belly, ground beef patty, and bacon and a huge side of fries (get the garlic fries!). We went yesterday around 4PM for a late lunch/early dinner. The last time we went there the food was AMAZING! Yesterday, our experience wasn't so great. Our waitress was S-L-O-W and it wasn't even busy. We ordered burgers medium and they came out saying, "Moo". (When the waitress praises how good the burgers are and then they don't even come out cooked properly, it doesn't leave a good impression on me.) I used to come here frequently in college for their food, but for the past 4 years I have not lived in Baltimore. This year I've come back twice when in town visiting, because their Caesar salad with marinated shrimp is my favorite salad ever. Unfortunately, the last time I visited (yesterday) the shrimp seemed to have a different flavor than it used to. In addition, both times my fiancé ordered a burger and it's never cooked to the correct temperature (always undercooked). I'm not sure if we've just gotten unlucky, but I'm still giving 4/5 because I am biased and the service is always 100%. We decided to come here one night when the wait at a nearby restaurant was a bit too long for our liking. I have been here previously and thought the food was pretty terrible. That was before they changed the place around and went under new management I guess. We walked in and were greeted by no one and were not sure what to do, so I approached the bar and asked if we can sit anywhere and he stated yes. So we went to the back where tables were available. We sat down and waited......and waited....and waited....Ok so this is not off to a great. We started talking about how annoying this situation was and a gentleman heard us and asked if we needed help. We said yes and he snagged a waitress immediately....that was the only hang up of the night. The menu looked good. I love seeing pork belly scattered all over a menu. We went with the Pork Belly Tacos with bbq rubbed fries and the garlic fries to start. The beer list is pretty limited so I went with the Yards Chocolate Stoudt. The hand cut fries were awesome. Please note that you better like garlic if you get these fries! I love garlic. I would wear it as a cologne scent if it were acceptable. So the fries were good to me. The BBQ fries were ok; nothing that knocked my socks off. Then the pork belly tacos came out with a Saranac bbq sauce. These porky morsels were good. I may be bias but I love pork belly and these were surprisingly good. They were moist and melted right in your mouth. My friend agreed and stated the tacos were really awesome as well. The downside to this dish...it only came with two tacos. Now, I am what people call an "eater". I can put tacos away. 2 was definitely not enough, but oh well, I will be back for more I guess! Overall we had a pretty good experience. The beer selection was limited and the beginning part of our meal was sort of weak. We did notice that Thursdays were their half priced burger night. I have been here for large amounts of drinks after final exams on two occasions. The drinks are yummy and I like the rustic tables. It's not a pretentious place at all, which I love. The last time I was here, we had bottomless mimosas and lunch. I had the WTF benedict, a wonderful spicy bacon, poached egg and cajun sauce plate of goodness. I really really love the WTF label, and almost have to give them a higher rating just because their beer classes say "WTF" on them. We also had the fried green tomatoes and they were really yummy as well. The second our drinks were low, a new bottomless drink would arrive! I will likely be back again for a small bite and a beer. The Waterfront Hotel has a very interesting atmosphere. The bar seems a little seedy downstairs, but upstairs is a nice dining room and then a back bar as well. A bar scene from "He's Just Not That Into You" was shot here years ago. We met up with some friends here for brunch this weekend. You can't beat the $10 all-you-can-drink mimosas, although the orange juice to champagne ratio seemed to really depend on who was making the mimosa. A bartender made an excellent mimosa before we sat down to eat, but after that the waiter made them and went heavy on the OJ. Prices seemed pretty reasonable. For $8, I received three eggs, 2 slices of whole wheat toast, bacon, and sausage. The sausage wasn't very good, but everything else tasted great. It wasn't very crowded, but service was still slow. Also, if you are thinking about trying Waterfront Hotel, I'd suggest you go to restaurant.com first. We bought a $25 gift certificate for $3, so our $50 bill only came to $28, not including tip. read more

I've been to Waterfront many times late night and always have a blast. I finally had a chance to try the food and it is a hit as well! I expected so-so bar food but was really blown away by the quality. The garlic fries were crispy and tasty; I couldn't stop eating them and I'm not normally a huge fry fan. My boyfriend really enjoyed the pork taco. They have a great beer list as well, and included the seasonal on the happy hour special. If you are going late night, I recommend getting there around 1030 and grabbing a spot near the band before it gets too crowded. I've never not liked a band at Waterfront. One even let my friend and I play some instruments :). It does get crowded so I wouldn't recommend it for going out if you have a large group or if there is a long line outside. I expect many more good times at Waterfront and can't wait to try the burger! read more

I love the waterfront hotel! As someone who lives in the city, this is my go-to spot for drinks or a relaxed dinner. The food is always good- i've never had something I don't like. Their tacos are one of my favorite. Last time I tried the garlic fries as a side and they were amazing. I definitely recommend getting those. The drinks are always good too- their bartenders know what they're doing! I definitely can't say that about many other places in the city. The staff here are always very friendly. I love the relaxed atmosphere of the restaurant. They only have 4 tables outside so i've only been able to sit outside if I go during off-peak times. They do have 2 levels of indoor tables, so sitting inside is rarely a problem. I would definitely recommend checking out this place if you're in the mood for good drinks and some american food. read more

I usually go with their chorizo omelette or eggs chesapeake if I'm in the mood for something "fancier." The service is ridiculously slow! I've been to Waterfront Hotel twice and I've never been impressed. The first time I did build your own burger and, while my burger was good, it was nearly as customizable as I'm used to (although I've since learned that this may just be because the build your own burger craze hasn't hit Baltimore the way it hit Pittsburgh already!) and I thought the burger was a little overdone. Also, my coworkers and I had trouble getting our waitress' attention for multiple needs. The second time I went for a trivia night with some friends. I just got a drink but my friends ordered food. Their food took a while, but more shocking was how long it took to get my drink! We were sitting within view of the bar but we being waited on and it took at least 20 minutes for our drinks to come. And my drink order was wrong! I understand it was a little busy, but that seems ridiculous. My friends seemed pleased with the food although no one raved or anything. To top it all off, at the end of the evening the waitress almost LOST MY CARD. She handed me an empty check holder back and when I went up to her to ask where my card was she wasn't sure! She'd handed it to the wrong table! I'm lucky the other patrons were gracious enough to make sure it got back to me. Overall, the food isn't impressive enough to withstand the appalling service. I don't know if they're just always understaffed or if they just don't train their people well, but I've never had a good experience here. read more

Honestly, we were supposed to go to a place a little way down Thames St which was super booked. We waked to The Waterfront and got great service and fantastic food. Our server was knowledgable and steered us in the direction of the brussels sprouts and the hummus for appetizers. She also let us know that the crab cake burger was popular. We sat for quite a while and our server was incredible. We went on a search for a great dessert after our meal and had THE HARDEST time finding anything good.
