Confronted with out-front advertising and a menu card that, at first, suggested this might have changed to a Mexican restaurant, I wasn't excited about staying for breakfast. I changed my mind when I saw traditional breakfast fare listed (and served all day) and I'm glad I did. The meat-lovers omelette was terrific with a generous amount of ham, sausage and cheese. My companion was pleased by her chicken salad sandwich (the accompanying potato salad was pretty bland) and soup as well. A disappointment was the freshly made bread and the highly touted cinnamon roll. The wheat bread was dry and the cinnamon roll served cut in half with the frosting on the side, left it dry as well. Service was quick and friendly and price higher than expected but not out of line. I'd return but wish they still offered the fresh muffins I remember from years past.

Friendly staff and good selection to chose from. I got the blitz with blueberries, loaded home fries, and a specialty sausage. All so tasty!

Excellent food, fast service, nothing else in town open and they did awesome for not having to compete. Highly recommend them. Breakfast was great

Rustic atmosphere that one goes "up north" to experience. Greeted by homemade loaves of bread adds to the welcome. We had the Friday fish fry. They offer 3 types of reading and broiled. The light breading was perfect. Served with great frys, homemade bread and coleslaw, backed beans. $10.99 Our server was so patient with our one elderly family member who was very slow to decide anything Going there again for sure. Lake views are beautiful and outdoor seating enhances it We just had to comeback on our return trip. Once again we got so much great food for such a great price

Service decent-- but the batter fried cod was done in seeming dirty oil and wasn't all that great - I was to hungry to say anything.

Our server, Leah, was very pleasant and met our every need. I'm extremely picky about tartar sauce and she brought me out plenty to try and then when I loved it, more to enjoy with their excellent fries. I thought it was the best I've ever had in a restaurant. We all enjoyed our meal and my daughter loved her Fettuccine Alfredo especially. My walleye sandwich was incredible, too, especially since that tartar sauce was so phenomenal. One thing that really caught my eye was how hard the hostess was working. I don't think I've ever seen someone of her generation with such an amazing work ethic. It was kind of fun to watch her do her thing. If I had a company of my own locally, I would definitely be working to hire her. I didn't get her name, a d she looked awfully young to own the place. She acted as if she did, however. Amazing!

No kidding, don't let the gas station vibes throw you, this place has great eats. We walked in through the gas station part of the building and were surprised to see the rustic decor of a medium sized dining area and an adjacent bar. It was a pretty full dining room and we sat ourselves. It didn't look promising as we saw one waitress and one bartender. However, after a brief wait, the waitress came to our table and assured us she would return as quickly as possible to get our drink and food orders. She returned as promised. Our drinks arrived a short time later. They were well made and attention was paid to get us another round as we finished the first. Our table had ribs, prime rib and a French dip sandwich. The portion size was great and the food arrived hot. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and the sauce was tasty. The prime rib had great flavor, was prepared as ordered and had very little fat. The French dip was also tasty. Truth be told, a salad bar would make this a true five star rating. The salads served with the meal were nice but very run-of-the-mill. Will we go back in the future? You betcha!
