I usually give places the benefit of the doubt, but I can't find one redeeming aspect of my experience at this place. 30 minutes for drinks in a partially empty setting. Half the order missing by the end of the hour long wait to get a Caesar salad and a salmon dish, which was completely undercooked and raw. No idea it could get this bad. They were nice enough to take the salmon off the order, but was as if the waitress didn't event realize that half he order was still missing. Not wanting to wait any longer we left. Just ate dinner here with my husband. Dinner was alright, we really liked the buffalo chicken dip, and our waiter, who was also the bartender, was nice and helpful. This is why I gave it two stars. The rest of the dinner was tainted by a terrible waitress. She initially came to our table after we were sitting for 10 minutes and gave us a run down of the menu then never returned. The bartender was kind enough to take our orders. My husband asked the right waitress for some ketchup with our sliders. She said yes the walked away to help other tables and never came back. At the end of the night we asked her for the check, she said yes and.....never returned. I've never had such rude service and it really put a bad spin on the meal. This is my favorite local spot in Pier Village! This was the first bar I went to when I moved down here from Hoboken almost 4 years ago. I really enjoyed the Wine Loft and I don't think there is anything like it nearby. It was actually just what I was looking for, a low key place that would avoid the typical rowdy crowds of the area. The live music wasn't too loud and allowed me & the beau to cozy up on the couches in the loft area to have a nice conversation. Definitely date night material. There are a range of by the glass pricings, I believe the cheapest was an $8 reisling among others and the reisling ended up being our favorite. A thirst quencher for sure! I had the gouda sliders which were pretty good and the other food that we saw come out looked yummy too. The service was a little lacking but I only counted 2 servers on the floor and it was a saturday. We got 1 order of sliders & 3 or 4 drinks each (can't remember ) & our total was $84. read more

We went on a Thursday night when it was Happy Hour all evening. The Wine Bar definitely has a lounge feel and has a dim decor with comfortable couches and tasteful decor. We sat on the first level in the lounge area near the bar and were immediately approached by a cocktail waitress. She recommended a very interesting white wine for me that was delicious. We ordered a pizza which was topped with quality, fresh ingredients, and a salmon salad which was massive, warm, and tasty. We hung out for a few hours and never felt that it got to crowded or had to wait for drink service for very long. The only odd thing is that they do not have a true dessert menu. Both couples who were sitting near us asked for them and they had a lame molten lava cake (that looked gross) and that was it. Came in after 11pm (starving) & praying they were still serving food. Lucky for us the kitchen is open until 1am! Great small plates & super inexpensive!! Where do I begin. We sat down and waited 15 minutes for someone to greet us. A girl looked directly at us and chose to ignore us. Once we had to wave and say something for someone to come up to us we ordered our food. Only to find out ten minutes later that they didn't have what we ordered . We held a fund raiser at Wine Loft after our annual NJDA meeting and all I can say is awesome, awesome, awesome! Tom ( manager) was amazing to work with - flexible, always available and offered us a variety of options to get the price into our budget. The waitress's were attentive and knowledgeable about each wine. We had the Trio dips and chips and they were outstanding! We were upstairs in a private room which gave us time to network, but it was open to the bar so we still felt like we were part of the scene. Craig helped finish up our final bill the day of the event and I had a couple questions and he quickly got the info and got everything taken care of. The entire staff was friendly, food was delish and the atmosphere was fun and upscale! Loved the whole event and would recommend this establishment to everyone! read more

Unfortunately with most things Long Branch, they try but generally come up short. We were having a girls weekends and stopped in here after having dinner for some drinks. There were 8 of us so we got a few bottles of wine. The staff was okay at that point, but thought they'd be a little friendlier considering we were spending more then average. Fast forward about an hour or so and 2 of the girls bags go missing. The staff at that point was less then ideal, didn't seem at all concerned and it was clear this is something that happens at this establishment. Moral of the story, if you do decide to go at night, hold onto to your stuff. And you should probably bring your own hand soap because the restrooms had none and they were pretty gross. Stopped by here for a quick drink before a wedding, and was in the mood for an Aperol Spritz (if you don't know what this is, just order it on a hot summer day and thank me later). Unfortunately, they were out of Aperol, but the bartender dos double check and together we came up with Campari as an alternative. He made us this version and, while it wasn't quite as good as the Aperol, it still hit the spot. The bartender was very friendly and helpful, as were the rest of the staff that we encountered. Saturday Night Review. Great crowd ranging from 20's-50's. Great Loungie club music played all night. Finger Food Menu is nicely paired with drinking. I recommend the espresso martini if you're going to stay away from wine. If you're into wine clearly this place is for you huge wine list. Table Service could use improvements but we had a great time regardless so it wasn't too bad. We did not visit the bar but we did notice the bartender was animated and the bar seemed to be very fun, although we could not get seats so we sat upstairs(great for people watching. Went to The Wine Loft for the first time last night. We really liked the vibe and the comfortable seating. Only suggestion I would make is to arrange some of the couches in conversation sets for groups of 4 - looked a little too much like a dr's waiting room. Upstairs level is also comfy and has longer couches for bigger groups. Drinks were 1/2 price from 4-7. Waitress was very attentive - very nice. We had 3 small plates: short ribs, jambalaya cake and tacos - all delicious and enough to split in two. There is one TV over the bar but the sound was off (good). The bar area has stools with backs; no one was sitting outside (too humid). Parking is ample; it is in the Pier Village shopping center on a side road. We will certainly be back with friends - its a cool place. read more

I've been here twice so far, and have had highly pleasant experiences both times. Although the place is small, the wine selection is large, the ambience is cozy and laid back, and the seating includes comfortable couches. Both times we went it was a Friday night, and they featured a live band playing a mix of classic and alternative rock. It wasn't overly crowded, and it proved for a highly enjoyable evening. The servers and bartenders are extremely nice and accommodative, although you may have to flag them down to come to you at first (especially if you sit upstairs). And they have a great happy hour, with half price glasses of wine and discounted food, among other things. My only real complaint would be the food - while not bad, it's nothing to rave about either. The food makes a decent snack, but that's really about it. A slightly expanded food menu, or some improvements to the current items, would make it more impressive. Overall, I would return in a heartbeat. Certainly beats going to a loud, overcrowded, rambunctious club. But maybe I'm just aging out of that stage. read more

The food, wine, and atmosphere were wonderful. However, the service was THE WORST I have experienced in recent memory. First, the waitress did not appear for 20 minutes, until she and her server friends emerged from the kitchen area. When she finally did take our drink order, she was curt and unfriendly. We had planned to order food, but she dropped our drinks down as fast as she could and ran away before giving us a chance to order. She did not return, so after about 30 minutes, I ordered food with the bartender. He put our order in, and soon thereafter, the waitress returned to ask if we wanted another round. When it came time to settle the bill, I had a gift certificate, and the waitress was using every possible explanation of why I could not use it. Two of our four glasses of wine were happy hour price, but the other two drinks and food were regular price. She said she could not combine offers. Okay, fine. Could she separate the two happy hour drinks on a separate bill? No (really?! I was a server and separating checks was a fairly standard procedure). She then said that I had to spend 50 to use the gift certificate (which I did), even though the g.c. clearly said I had to spend 38. I pointed this out to her. She disappeared with the check and g.c., and another server returned to say I still could not use it unless I forfeited the happy hour price, which, in her opinion, would be more. I did the math, and it was NOT in fact more (I can add, hello!), so I said that was what we would do. She came back and said that she added gratuity because "when you use a gift card, gratuity is included". Have you ever heard that before!? No, me neither. Not only that, but she had included 20% gratuity of the non happy hour total. I am a generous tipper, like I said I was a server in a past life, and would have tipped off the original amount, but I absolutely would not have given 20%. I had to give our order to the bartender and the server acted like we did not exist. Even a couple sitting next to us noted how terrible the servers were acting about the check! Overall, I would say it's probably a good place to sit at the bar. Just don't expect the servers to be friendly, accept gift cards, or actually serve you. read more

I'm so happy I found this place! I went here recently on a date and it's a really cool spot in Pier Village. I had similar experiences to the other reviewers; cool lounge with comfortable seating and a more sophisticated crowd. Huge wine list of course, although the cocktail waitress did not make any suggestions. The food was standard, neither great nor bad. We ordered a bunch of small plates to share which was awkward because you are sitting so low to the ground and the cocktail tables are also short and kind of wobbly. We sat upstairs too in a corner, I don't know if that made a difference. The bathroom was clean, it wasn't too loud there, the music was normal and not really special. It was funny to see some of the couples actually on top of one another grinding and sucking face, definitely not a kid-friendly place (not that anyone would bring their kids to a wine bar). I did like it here and can't wait to come back. Hope they have better music next time though! read more

Been here several times for happy hour. Each time we got overcharged full price. Same thing happened to friends of ours. Also, they include the tip in the bill. It's just taking advantage of people who had a few drinks and don't scrutinize their bill, thinking the owners are honest. Not going back. read more
