Recently went there as we just got a house in long branch and I was so happy with the service, the food and the great happy hour! What place has happy hour everyday until 8 pm. That is unheard of. And the bar pizza was great...didn't get any other food but it all looked delicious. I wouldn't come here if you are only a beer fan though, definitely a spot for cocktail and wine fans. We sat outside and started off with the Sangria. They made it very well, good blend of juice, red wine and fruit. Also ordered the trio of dips and beef sliders. The dips which had brushetta, hummus, and baba ghanoush were good, though the brushetta was a little too watery. The bread it came with was a little too hard. I came to the Wine Loft with a group of girlfriends for a wine sampling courtesy of a Yelp event. We sat in a cozy corner section of couches and sipped on some great wine. The server was polite and knowledgable. She gave us some great suggestions for tasting. All of the staff was extremely kind. The place was very busy and they were slightly understaffed but were so apologetic and polite, that we didn't mind at all. We didn't eat any food so I don't have an opinion on that, but the atmosphere alone is worth coming back for! read more

I would chose zero stars if I could. The place is an embarrassment. The food was disgusting. Everything was frozen and reheated. The fried zucchini sticks were inedible. I ordered the chicken parm sliders and it tasted like rubber. The only plus was that the wine was reasonably priced. The ultimate disgrace was that we were given paper dishes and plastic utensils. At this point I was wondering why my wine was served in a wine glass and not a red plastic Solo cup. It would have matched the meal and the ambience of the place. The carpets were dirty and the walls were in need of some spackle and a paint job. I will never come back here. read more

Great atmosphere, with a bar downstairs for when you want to mingle and quiet spots and leather couches upstairs for when you don't. Despite it being a Friday night the first time I went, the place never got too loud or obnoxious and before I knew it I'd been there for something like 4 hours. I was charmed by the staff, who were attentive without being intrusive. The cocktails and food left much to be desired however. Only the slightest hint of olive in my "Intense" Dirty Martini. The Jalapeno Margarita was ok, but again not as flavorful as its name would suggest. And I'm all for aspiring to be something greater than you are, but the "Kobe Beef" in the Kobe Beef Sliders was complete and total fiction. Dry, tasteless, and ludicrously overpriced at $9 for 2. Came for an after dinner drink and stayed all night. Such a cute little place but very relaxing. Has four sofa lounge chairs and bar seats inside and a really cute outside dining available too. The kitchen is open late so it's perfect for the late night snacks! There wine selection is nice. We had there pizza which was good and the buffalo dip. This place is awesome! Went there for Restaurant Week and our server/bartender Cheryl is da bomb. Very friendly and knowledgeable about wines, she gave us great suggestions. The food was delish; it was a special menu for R/Week, smaller version of the regular menu. My friend and I had the cheese board and later Cheryl came out with the regular size board for another couple - same things just more. And it was great value for the price (both sizes). The space itself is awesome too; upstairs has two areas where you can have "private" parties (open areas separated by the staircase), and downstairs has a couched-out area for about 20 beyond the bar and the front has different couchy seating for couples/small groups. I came here on a Tuesday after dinner on my boyfriend's birthday. It was our first time and we walked in after walking along the beach (which is literally right across the street.) For a Tuesday night I thought there were quite a few people. There is outdoor seating, bar seating, a loft area (which we did not see) and small love seat couches. Our waitress was super nice. She seemed to be the only one working that night though and it took a while to get our check. We chose to sit at one of the love seat couches and although there really was nothing separating us from the other patrons, we felt like we were in our own world. (Very romantic). We never felt like we were too close to the other parties/could hear their conversations/were too crowded (which was really really nice) On Tuesdays, bottles of wine between 50-150 are half off (wow ..total score!). We ended up ordering a bottle and lounging for a few hours. The music was nice (maybe 92.3 ish style?) and the crowd seemed pretty youngish. My main issue was the menu. The menu was pretty extensive and had a very large selection. Although both my boyfriend and I love and drink wine often, we are NOT wine experts. We frequent wine bars and the one thing we did notice was the lay out of the menu. The wine was listed by region and only had the year and type. Typically when I look at a wine menu I like to see what tastes and undertones the wine has. (It makes me feel more adventurous trying something I have never heard of if there is a description of the taste.). We ended up playing it safe and chose a Cabernet - which we both loved. A solid three stars. Came here during a yelp event ( free tastings) and ended up staying for a few hours. It's dark and rich as far as atmosphere goes. I like the vintage cooper ceilings that adorn this wine bar. Two levels, we chose to go upstairs to sit and unwind. Upper level has low leather settings and ottomans which is good for groups. Our server Stephanie was awesome. Fast attentive and full of good suggestions. The wine list is impressive. Not so impressive was the food. Maybe it was an off day. The Gouda sliders were poor, the bread was stale and falling apart with each bite- and the Gouda was very little. The dip was good the pita chips were terrible. Terrible as in stale and chewy. Chewy pita is never a good thing. Flatscreen tv's showed the games and music filled the air. Bartenders: Fake Craig with( Kirby) mustache was cool, real Craig, cooler. This was a great little stop on one of our yelp "staycation's". They even included this stop as part of the events and offered 2 free wine tastings along with great happy hour prices! The two wines I tried ( I forget the exact name of them unfortunately), we're great! One was the Moscato and the other was a Chardonnay. The atmosphere was great not too dark and not too light, just perfect I'd say. The upstairs loft was pretty cool and great to escape with your group of friends too. The bartenders were quick and knowledgeable about their products. The regular prices in the menu were also pretty reasonable, even though at the time I was getting happy hour prices. They do offer bar food as well. In fact that's the reason I took off a star, because I honestly wasn't too impressed with the food. My friends and I split the spinach dip which I found to be well first off, cold and second, bland. Also I was not a fan of the chips/bread that came along with it. My friend tried the sliders and said that they were bland as well. If not for the food I would have definitely given 5 stars because otherwise it was a great experience coming here. If I'm in the area is I'll be stopping by for more happy hour and try out some of the other food they offer so I can update my review. : ) read more

I went in tonight with some friends for some drinks after a golf outing. Most of the night was fun, had a great time with my group and the drinks were nice. However around 130 am this older woman working behind the bar and the male bartender (Shirley and Derick I think?) began arguing aggressively with each other, screaming and using profanity toward each other at a volume and in a manner that made me and my friends not only uncomfortable but also concerned that they might actually start fighting each other. It got so bad that a few of my friends actually moved away from the bar. I understand that sometimes coworkers dont see eye-to-eye but the way they handled whatever it was they were arguing about was beyond unprofessional, especially Shirley, who kicked the Derick from behind the bar. Just met the sweetest, most personable and patient bar tenders, her name was Joni. I don't drink, but she sat very patiently and attentively while my mom tried to find in her phone and ultimately remember a drink she loved at Porta. Joni managed to recreate it for her and she liked it better than the original. My boyfriend and I came here recently for the happy hour bar plates and decided to come back again with my mom. Atmosphere is pure class - two levels with very comfy "chill out" sofas. Love the ambiance and the tall, beautiful ceilings. The manager recognized us as frequent customers, and gave us the kind of treatment that makes you want to come back with more friends. Great wine list, and the staff suggestions have been more "hit" than "miss." Not really a dinner place. I think the small plates here are perfect upscale snacks for the late night munchies... also really good as a pre-dinner app or post-dinner treat (cheese plates and some yummy desserts on menu). With the NY / North Jersey crowd in town, parking can be brutal on summer weekends. I like coming in the fall/winter when it's less busy, but this place is great for any season. read more
