my friends and I went for dinner and drinks, and the food was delicious as always. our waiter was also really nice and joked around with us while ordering. the wait was exactly as long as the hostess predicted. we started with the duck wings and the ribs. the wings were the tiniest bit dry but it was made up for it with the delicious sauce. the ribs were absolutely amazing and it made me wish I had gotten the larger size for dinner. I chose the beef tenderloin Oscar, which was topped with fresh crab and asparagus along with a side of garlic mashed potatoes (starch options also included baked, mashed, and rice). the steak was rich and delicious and I enjoyed the crab topping. my husband got the filet mignon and this was cooked absolutely perfectly. This place was always a favorite of ours whenever we come to Killington and I'm happy to say this has not changes this time around. They actually take the healthy approach to steakhouse such as no fried food on the menu so, much respect to them for that. The appetizers were very good especially the mussels in white wine sauce. This place didn't come close to living up to my expectations! The wait for a table was an hour, which was expected during Presidents Day Weekend, so no points lost there. We didn't go upstairs, but the live band was rocking out and it sounded to be a great time. The service at the bar downstairs was fine...our bartender was prompt and friendly. A salad bar is included with most entrees and it's decent. Although, the most memorable item was the bread, so don't get too excited. Upon the recommendation of our server, we went for the prime rib. Big mistake! $34 for a 12 oz. prime rib that was completely disappointing. The cut was nice, but there wasn't any special about it. It may have been slightly more appetizing if it had been anywhere near warm...I don't even think it would have qualified as room temperature. This would have been acceptable if I had ordered it rare, but I asked for medium. The color was right on, so I assume it had been sitting for awhile before reaching my knife and fork. The baked potato that accompanied the meat was dried out and required a heavy dose of butter, salt, and pepper to make it edible. Had dinner here with ski group in March 2014. Porterhouse Ribeye steak with garlic butter was delicious, huge but pricey. Also ordered the salad bar which could have been a meal in itself, offering 3 soups, 2 speciality breads, 3 types of greens and assorted veggie and toppings. The lettuce and some of the chopped veggie items looked wilty old - friend got sick and vomited a couple of hours after dinner. Because it is expensive to eat there, and the quality is uneven, I would check out other places in the area before going back there, and also inspect the salad bar before ordering to make sure it is ok that evening. read more

Came here mid-December.. and boy, this is where the party is at! The place was loud, booze flowing, music playing - made the 1 hour wait for a table much bearable. My party of predominantly guys were starved by the time we sat down and chowed down on *gasp* salad from the salad bar!! Ok, the boys will eat salad because it's included with the entree. Free is always good, right? but no these boys made 2nd, 3rd trips to the salad bar. Me, finally getting up to see what the hype was all about, took my drunk ass to the salad bar to find a glorious selection of vegetables, fresh sliced bread, soup and other treats! .. and yes in the middle of a "steakhouse". Impressive salad bar I give them that. By the time my steak came I was about to pass out from the alcohol that's been in my body since 3pm so I don't remember much of how it tasted. I'm not sure why this place is ranked so high. The prices are ridiculous for below average fare and drinks that are obviously watered down. The service is friendly but so is everyone in Vermont in general so I wasn't expecting anything else. Most of the entrees were a bit overpriced although I guess you can chalk it up to location. There was a pretty hefty cover at the door as well after dinner hours. Drinks were quite watered down and around NYC prices, sometimes more. I really wouldn't come here again after a long day at the slopes. We ordered the "Beast's Choice" which is a 28oz. Porterhouse house steak with a 3+ pound lobster. It came with a choice of potato. I chose the garlic mash which sounded like the tastiest option. You also get unlined trips to the salad bar and fresh baked garlic bread. I could read just the bread and get filled. It was warm and soft on the inside with a perfectly baked crust on the outside parties with whipped butter it really gets your taste buds ready for your meal. We got the Porterhouse medium rare. It was good not great. The filet seemed to have been marinated too long as the texture seemed to be a bit too denatured when you bit into it. The lobster was hugely pleasant surprise. The menu states 3+ pounds and it seemed to have been a four and a half pound Lobster so they really were not kidding. It was steamed nicely, not over or under cooked. The class meat was deliciously sweet and the tail was super thick with a nice chewy meat bite you would expect from a massive lobster. After dinner we stayed a little while to hang out in the bar upstairs and had fun parking with the live band playing that night. Went to the Wobbly Barn last night for an early, romantic dinner with my wife for our first night at Killington in 2013. VERY DISAPPOINTED, We both wanted salad bar and a small meal, so we ordered the half slab of ribs to be accompanied by the hefty $7.00 charge for side salad bar. Salad and bread bar was great, but only visited once. Ribs came and at first bite, i knew that the evening was going to go downhill, immediately. The ribs were tough and being a "BBQ Rib Snob" from TN and AL, I was terribly and utterly disgusted. They tasted like they were cooked three to four days ago and re-heated for our plates. A key note in this report, the ribs came out before I finished my salad and bread, which is way too quick, if you know how to prepare ribs in bulk for a meal! Anyway, after telling the waitress about my displeasure, she asked if i would accept any other substitutes or something else. But, at which time, i was already full and didnt want anything else. When the bill came, there was no concession, nor any acknowledgement that there was a problem, I had to ask for it. When I asked, there was some push back and the resolution that was agreed upon was not in my favor, even though I only ate one rib! I will NEVER go back to this place again, and we own property just off Killington Road! Moreover, I will also tell everyone of my experience there! read more

The was a very long wait for a table when we arrived and it continued to grow. By the time we were seated the waiting list was 1.5 hours. The steaks were good but very very expensive. Service was excellent and our waitress was awesome. The salad bar is way over rated. Parking was poor. I was there many years ago and it was the same at half the price. This is a great place to eat! It is a nice, fun place to eat. They have a salad bar, with some great tasting soups. The salad bar has many things that can be put in the salad. I can not say how amazing the salads are! The soups are also out of this world! I had the ribs, and I loved them. They have two sauces that can be put on the ribs, and they are both great! The service is also great! The waitresses are really nice! I asked for some napkins, and got them instantly. That is an example of how great the service is. The prices is just a little bit much. Hadn't been there in about 5 years until this week. It was not as good as I had remember, the salad bar seemed a little weaker and the soups were not good at all. The prime rib was okay and best however the strip and ribeye looked super juicy and the people I was with had no compliant while eating them. I went to the Wobbly Barn this past Saturday with group of 8 (mix of friends and family). Most everyone I was with had been to Killington plenty of times and loved the Wobbly Barn. We were seated after a short wait at a large round table with a lazy susan (which proved pretty useless but they are fun so I won't complain). Upon being seated my BF's Uncle informed me that I HAD to get the salad bar - it was the best. Okay I am always up for a good salad. Our server was Sharon and she was fantastic. She was friendly and attentive. The menu is steaks, a few other meat options and some seafood options. For the steaks you can choose your level of "doneness" anywhere from "blue" to "well". Now - I like a rare steak, but blue?? To me that is just raw. I laughed that they had it but elected for "rare" - I wasn't ordering carpaccio. I added the salad bar as recommended. I love salad and the bar is extensive - is it the best...No...but it is good. They have your standard salad options plus a few pasta salads and 2 soups. The chili was excellent. My steak arrived with some butter on top and a side of garlic mashed potatoes. I love salty food - give me salty over sweet any day. However, I would say the steak was a bit too salty and for someone who isn't a salt feen probably too salty. It was cooked perfectly though and the potatoes were delish. I needed some vegetables so we also got a side of sautéed spinach - nothing special here. My BF got the maple ribs - very good. For dessert they offered a few local ice creams and cakes/pies. I got to choose the dessert (rarity) and went with my favorite, cookie dough ice cream. It was very good, but honestly we were so full it wasn't necessary. When you eat in the restaurant you get vouchers for the bar upstairs. We stayed there for about an hour to have a couple of drinks and listen to the band. I wouldn't run back to the bar portion - very young crowd with a mediocre band but fun to have a couple of drinks. If I found myself in Killington again and wanted a steak I would come back. It is pricey but I am accustomed to NYC steak prices not Outback so it was what I expected price wise. Give it a shot. Get the salad bar and hope Sharon is your waitress. read more
