Quite to the contrary this restaurant offers superb "farm to table" selections that are guaranteed to delight even the fussiest diners. Several of my guests ordered the lobster risotto and they practically ate through to the bottom of their plates. I always find risotto a little filling so I steer clear but I heard no such complaints here. Another ordered the artichoke appetizer and I thought it was a main course based on the size, but no matter, he went through that dish like Grant through Richmond.. The service was outstanding and, Nicole, our server, made the evening as close to perfection as one could ever expect. When we arrived, the place was packed to the rafters, and now I understand why. Can I just tell you how amazing my dinner was? Just got back from a wake and wanted to cheer my fiancé's family up and what better way to celebrate life then good food. Yes it's on transit and it's not ideal however it's worth it and lots of parking. I was so happy to see that there were oysters and clams on the specials! I fucking love oysters and the champagne sauce with it was even better. They had cool deals like a bucket of beer and oysters for a set price along with pizza and salads for groups. The menu was easy to please anyone from meat lover to meatless. You could have blind folded me and told me this vegan creamy soup was chilly and I would believe you. Even for there brick oven pizza they have vegan cheese. I also had the shrimp and lobster risotto with lots of lobster and cooked to perfection shrimp. The risotto had a light pesto sauce with fresh roasted cherry tomatoes. My man got a Big Mac burger, he was in such a happy food coma I offered to drove home. Tonight we celebrated our youngest daughter's birthday at This Little Pig. Being Valentines weekend they were packed and if you didn't have reservations you would be out of luck. The 3 of us had a drink to start and then ordered the smoked wings for an appetizer. $14 for 6 wings seems a bit high to me and they were just that ...smoked wings. Daughter ordered a pizza which was excellent. I had the shaved Brussels sprout salad. I loved that it had cranberries, peanuts and goat cheese.. Dad had a sampling of 3 things..fried chicken and pickles, beef brisket and ribs. He enjoyed it all but thought the brisket was dry. read more

This Little Pig was highly recommended by some of the folks at my account. I was in Buffalo on business travel and not looking forward to eating (once again) by myself. They suggested I sit at the bar and that's exactly what I did. The bartender was excellent at his job; he knew the menu, made great recommendations, didn't concern himself with me having dinner at the bar, was attentive, but not obtrusive. While I intended on having a beer and an entree, he let me know they had a special on appetizers; buy 1, get 1. They had some excellent choices for appetizers. I chose the house made pierogie and crab & smoked trout croquettes. They were both excellent. He suggested some deserts, which sounded amazing, but I passed. Next time though! I will be looking forward to going back next time I am in Buffalo. read more

The second review is as of tonight's visit. This would've been our 5th visit, and the food (as you can see) has never disappointed. Normally, I'd give a 5, but we were seated in the front, and we had the sun glaring in our faces almost the entire meal. So that made it very difficult to relax. Maybe going forward, putting a sun glare cover over the window would help future patrons. Also, I had ordered their refrigerator cake again with some coffee. The coffee arrived, literally cold with floaties in it. I had asked our waitress for a replacement cup. However, I did enjoy the cake, but the coffee was a turn off. I'm a bit underwhelmed with this place. I went there for a Sunday brunch and had high hopes. Fortunately, we had an online reservation and we were seated a few minutes after all of us arrived. This place had a lot of pig related stuff in their decor which was really cute. I ordered their Irish coffee without whipped cream. It was $10 and was served in a tall water class which was awkward. For 10 bucks it was ok. I guess one shot of Irish whiskey and house coffee in a weird vessel which was uncomfortable for hot coffee would worth $10. I ordered the surf and turf Benedict. The portions were very small for $19 but I was absolutely ok with that because egg Benedict is heavy and often I feel like having a heart attack after eating eggs Benedict for brunch. However, the potatoes were very salty for my taste. Also, the filet mignon was not as soft and juicy as it's supposed to be. The service was prompt and friendly no complains there. All in all 3/5 stars would be fair I guess. read more

Third time at this charming restaurant in Williamsville and I was quite surprised to find the expanded seating space. Really nicely done. Went there on a Tuesday night and it was packed. Despite the crowd you could still have a conversation without overhearing your neighbors. The staff was exceptional. As for the food we ordered to apps and the Tupac pizza. The burnt ends ravioli and the meatballs were good, I personally preferred the ravioli and the french fries were amazing! As for the pizza, it was ok. It did not stand out on it's own and was kind of blah. The sandwiches on neighboring tables looked better. Lesson learned. read more

Hmmm...saw all the Yelp reviews and was so excited to try this place. My hotel was close to the restaurant, and so I figured why not. Dinner on 12/14, sat at the bar. I had the homemade pierogi to start. It was served with sliced apples and bacon. What should seemed like great flavor combinations on paper were just okay to taste. A serviceable dish to be sure. I thought my entree would make up for the starter - roasted breast of chicken. I was wrong. A really bland dish with no discernible flavor. So after 2 courses I was 0-2. I proceeded to try their version of shoofly pie for dessert - thankfully it was decent. Service at the bar was excellent, but I was very underwhelmed with the food. The 'Rona took away my chance to have our first experience as an in person, sit down meal a few weeks ago when we were visiting the area, so we took advantage of the online order process which they have legitimately perfected. We ordered and arrived right on time. I, unfortunately, don't read so well, so I didn't see the sign stating to call and they would happily bring the order to the curb. None-the-less, the guy slinging orders out the door cheerfully took my name and brought it out for me. It was packaged very well, and was hot upon pickup. My husband and I decided about 6 years ago to procreate and that little turd doesn't understand what good food really is, so we drove to the local McDeath to get a not-so-happy box of food for him, then dug into our order. My husband STILL talks about the Piggy Pipe Bombs. To be specific, he would give a kidney for another order of them. They were satisfying, creamy, spicy and hit the spot on a keto diet. So. Darn. Good. We should have ordered several to take home and nosh on for days, but we were new. We didn't know. Title Belt Meatballs... well, my husband is Italian and he erroneously thought the only meatball to compare to was his grandmothers. He also doesn't like mustard sauces, or so he thought. These were intended for my teenage son when we purchased them. My son didn't even know they were ever ordered. And, although I can't find it on the menu right now, there was a pasta loaded with a few types of glorious pig, which was hearty and satisfying, filling the endless pit that didn't get a bite of the meatballs he was intended to get. We also got an order of the greens and butter beans, which was so hearty it could stand on its own as a meal. For the vegetarian, my 18 year old daughter... the shaved brussel sprout and blueberry salad was a winner. Even though she is a vegetarian, she doesn't actually care that much for salads. She has asked me to drive the 2 hours each way to pick one up for her repeatedly. I only wish they were doing pies when we ordered. They look amazing on Facebook. A-mazing. Oh, and I know the guy that supplies him with a good amount of the pork. Locally, sustainably raised animals, that live a good life before This Little Pig gets ahold of them. This Little Pig has turned this girl into a not-so-little piggy! This restaurant is a GEM in Amherst and one of my favorite restaurants in the Buffalo area. So many good things to say. I love that they try to use local ingredients and keep the menu fresh. The menu is so creative! We always have a tough time deciding what to get because we want it all. The drinks are great, but the food is truly unique. My favorites so far: title belt meatballs, corn & zucchini cakes, blueberry glazed bacon bones. This restaurant is my husband and I's go to date night restaurant, we are always raving about to friends and family. Can't say enough. Love it here! read more

HOLY CRAP! I don't "YELP" lightly but only when I find a place that really moves me. We happened into this restaurant totally by chance. We met my son out at a different restaurant for a birthday breakfast at 09.45 on a Sunday - foolishly without reservations - and, after a looooong wait, we left. We wandered around, up Main Street and found This Little Pig was opened. We were initially thinking we would check to see if Brennan's was yet opened. When we walked in, we were greeted with a question about whether we had a reservation. I thought we were going to end up at Tim Horton's but was pleasantly surprised that they seated us immediately. The restaurant is cute and cool but not overly loud. Our waiter was really fun and gave us great suggestions and service. The food was fantastic: My son (who's a chef) had the crab cakes Benedict and raved about it. My husband had regular eggs Benedict and also raved about it. I had a calzone-type spinach and egg thing.... it was wonderful but, I have been dreaming all week about the Bloody Mary! It was your standard Bloody Mary, ordered medium, with a celery stalk, a pickle (LOVE), a pepperoncini (LOVE, LOVE) a strip of bacon (LOVE, LOVE, LOVE) which flavored it perfectly and various other accoutrement that just added to my enjoyment. The only problem was that I wish I would have taken advantage of the "Bloody Mary buffet", otherwise I might not have spent this last week dreaming of that drink and the next possible date that I can get back there for brunch! We capped off a thoroughly enjoyable birthday brunch by splitting the cinnamon roll and walked away satiated and thrilled that we found a great new place for family brunch. Food good... service... poor. Went here tonight for the 3rd time since it opened. I made reservations online. Had to wait 5 minutes to be seated, but no big deal. Our waiter, a tall young man, came and asked if we wanted drinks. He visably seemed annoyed that two people did not want alcohol. In the middle of our meal he asked if I wanted another drink ( I had alcohol) but he did not ask my friend I if she wanted another iced tea. Rude. It was obvious to me that he wanted a bigger tip. When we arrived home my husband looked at the receipt emailed to him and the waiter had up charged my drink with a specific vodka, even though I told him not too! After we are through with our meal he came with the receipt on a credit card machine. So unpleasant! I don't mind swiping my card at the table, but bring a paper receipt first. That way people have time to look over it and divide the bill if necessary. As a guest I feel pressured. In my opinion it is not a pleasant way to end a meal. As our waiter was waitiing for us to look over the bill I added in my head how much my friend owed. As I told her the amount our waiter chimed in saying "you know that doesn't include tip." I felt that was such a rude comment and he said it in a snarky way. I know a bill for three people doesn't include gratuity. I wasn't born yesterday! Then he told my friend how much she owed... he assumed we were splitting the check down the middle. We said we didn't want to do that. Then he asked if we wanted separate bills. We said "sure." He sighed heavily and walked off annoyed. He didn't come back to our table for another 15 minutes. This waiter but a damper on a nice dinner and evening with a friend. What a wonderful place to dine in at! Stopped here for brunch and it was extremely nice. The hostess was super positive and friendly. She put us in a spot that was special for my experience, and our server was super sweet. The bartender got behind a little and our server gave us a complementary mimosa! I ordered the biscuit and jam, and when asked what the jam was our server gave us a very descriptive item - everything was made in house, and it was delicious. Food portions are massive (as you can see from the photo) but also, it was good food. When leaving everyone said Bye to us. When I return to Buffalo, NY I will most definitely return to this location. Highly recommend! read more

Shrimp & Butternut Risotto, $36.00, served in a very large bowl with not much food, 4 small shrimp & no lobster meat. The flavor was excellent however, for the price no soup or salad offering & no bread. Ordered one Baked Onion Soup $11.00, got charged $22.00. Ordered one Piggy Pipe Bomb, $14.00, got charged $28.00. Went on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch. the Place was PACKED! ended up grabbing a seat at the kitchen bar/counter which in my opinion was way better than waiting for a table. Oh man, this place is something else completely. It starts with some super entertaining decor and setup, and finishes with some amazing service with incredible food in between. I came here last weekend with a large group of family members and we tried all kinds of different things. I ordered the fancy scrapple which was like a sausage, pork, egg, and potatoes dish and it was sooooo good. I loved the flavor and everything was so well seasoned and tasty throughout. I was really impressed. The burger and fries looked amazing and so did everything else. Now, I came for their Sunday brunch menu so I'm not entirely sure what their regular menu looked like but I'm sure it was delicious! They are known here for the cinnamon rolls and with good reason. My grandma ordered one and sent it around the table for everyone to try, and she's lucky she got any back after it made the rounds. I can't wait to go back and try some other tasty stuff! read more

We came here for dinner on a saturday with a family of 6. The bar was able to accomodate us while we waited for our table. The bar is spacious and would be great for a cocktail hour or having a few drinks. The service was extremely fast and food was decent (between a 3 or 4 stars). The menu had something for everyone. We ordered the oysters, wings, pizza and the other pictures below (the Pizza lacked flavor). The mint chocolate cake was a 5 according to my brother in law and dad, they would come back to eat here just for that. Went here again of course, I got a voucher off of Buffalo Perks for $25 that got me $50 of food. I got the big bad rib-eye again, this time more then half my rib-eye was all fat. Which is somewhat expected, but was a lot more fat then the first time I had got it. The mashed potatoes never disappoint as those are absolutely delicious. My husband ordered their 3 piece filet that came with shrimp, lobster and one other seafood- I cant remember which it was but it was on their specials menu! We also tried their perogies appetizer this time, it was good but very small - not sure if I would order it again for the price. Overall it was a good experience, minus that I told the girl working to only box up my vegetables and mashed potatoes, and she also boxed up all my fat I had cut off my steak. Though that was a simple mistake, and I will be back again still to try something new! read more

There's one thing that really bothers me.... and that's when I go to a place that everyone else seems to be raving about.... and I find it to be just a step or two above "yuck". The setting was industrial cool (like it should be located in the middle of the city rather than in a suburban strip mall) and the service was friendly (although the bussing staff seemed very eager to clear our plates.... even before we had finished the food on 'em). The wine (and beer and cocktail) list was quite complete, and the glasses of house chardonnay that I had were tasty. Fresh, herby bread and olive oil with a dollop of whipped butter in the middle of it was brought to the table as we perused the menu. The two of us decided to share a couple of appetizers, a salad, and a pizza. The Title Belt Meatballs (bacon and pork meatballs, slowly smoked and basted with spiked carolina 'cue) were a bit sweet and a bit spicy... and also a bit mushy. The House-Made Pierogi (stuffed with house-made farmer's cheese, pan-fried in butter with apples and bacon, green onion, grained mustard, and crispy fried onion) would have been better without the clashing flavors. The pierogi itself was quite yummy.... but rather than adding to its flavor, the other ingredients were a distraction that totally over- powered the delicate pasta pockets. The Shaved Brussel Sprout Salad (with spiced almonds, dried cranberry, goat cheese, pickled red onion, diced butternut squash, and orange-roasted shallot vinaigrette) was the best dish of the evening. The flavors and textures melded and perfectly complemented each other. Next, the Chicken and Spinach Pizza (chicken and spinach with olive oil, roasted garlic cloves, pulled chicken, sautéed onion, spinach, and parmigiano-reggiano and provolone cheese) was a soggy, wet mess. Someone needs to be taught that cooking spinach releases a whole lot of liquid. And the chicken, rather than being "pulled", was served in huge chunks. This place has great potential. It's so darn cute inside. The dishes all sound great... and others seem to love it.... so either the kitchen staff was having a bad night, or we ordered wrong, or our taste buds are totally shot. From beginning to end, I cannot give justice to just how great this place is. Chef Jeff is very friendly and customer focused. It's also not lost that he treats his employees with a ton of respect. The atmosphere is very nice and the kitchen counter seats are the best in the house. A lot of people don't like them, but it's quieter, you can see all the food, and you get to interact with Jeff and his fellow cooks. As far as the food, you won't find anything here that you'll find anywhere else...and that's a good thing. Chef Jeff's flavor combinations and unique ingredients are unbelievably awesome! Jeff, if you read this, your cheese and meat board that you had tonight needs to be put on the menu permanently. My farmstead lasagna was out of this world. My wife had the risotto with lobster and shrimp and she said it was to die for. It doesn't end there though. How about those desserts??? Was staying at a hotel down the street from this joint. I saw the mostly positive reviews and thought I would check it out. It's a nice spot, with indoor and outdoor dining. I was alone, so I sat at the bar, the bartender was friendly and talkative, no problems with service at all. They only have 5 taps, but it's all local craft. Ordered an Oktoberfest beer from Great Lakes, which was $9. That's a little on the pricey side. Ordered their Notorious P.I.G. Pizza, which was excellent. Didn't have room for anything else, even tho the barkeep told me they make all their deserts scratch. The pie was big enough where two people could split it and with an appetizer or salad it would be plenty filling. They only offer one size of their pizzas, which is a small drawback. A beer and the pizza, with tip, was $36, which is a little steep, IMO. But the food was good, the service attentive, and the overall vibe of the place was very chill. Wow! This place is amazing. The food is superb and the atmosphere inside is very nice. We started out with the stuffed pepper special and the flavors were amazing and we had to hold back from licking the plate. My wife ordered a special pork sandwich with an egg and it was excellent. Also the fries look to be made in house. There was a ton of food for the money and we both ended up with a bunch of left overs even with how good it was tasting. I ordered a rib dinner with Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. The ribs had a very tasty blueberry BBQ sauce and the Mac and cheese had bits of lobster in it. My one semi tiny complaint is that they did not remove the membrane from the back of the ribs which seems like a place that does so much bbq would know to do but I can't knock them solely on that fault. The prices are a little higher than I would have expected for the quantity of food but the quality did fully make up for it. I am for sure going to come back and try some more of the great food. read more
