Since we are a Vietnamese family we have decided to visit Vietnamese restaurants all over the state. This place was definitely a let down when it comes down to Pho, not original. I ordered the seafood clay pot and it was toddler size, maybe for a 5 year old. Very delicious seafood though. I was recommended this restaurant, but came away disappointed in the food. Not sure why, but several dishes of vastly different influences all had similar strong marinade. The duck confit was made nearly inedible, and ended up tasting the same as the ribs. All I could taste was the dang marinade! I'd call that a 2 star review, but the manager (owner?) was very responsive to my feedback, harsh as it was. He rightly offered to make me another dish after my duck. I took him up on it, and the ribs were a slightly better fit for the marinade but it was still so overpowering. I tried my best to say the marinade was a problem, but he was very friendly and I didn't have the heart to really drive the point home as hard as I should have. Still, he listened and I hope they do something. I'll be back in a few months to see if they got themselves straightened out. Here's hoping. read more

Great food and consistently great , but the clientele in the evening is so Loud and obnoxious. You can't even hear the people sitting next to you. I don't know why people go to a lovely restaurant and then act like they are in a back yard screaming and laughing so hard it drowns out quieter conversations at other tables. No manners , no class. First time dining in a Thai restaurant and I must say it was nice. We ordered martinis, egg rolls, spring rolls, and Thai fried rice and everything was good except maybe you couldn't see the chicken in the egg rolls. I wasn't the biggest fan of the chicken egg rolls but every thing else was great. Good service as well! They do charge an automatic 20% gratuity if your bill is over $100 which was no problem. read more

I AM OBSESSED! This place should have a warning sign outside for being addictive. I love Thai food is this is absolutely the best place in the area to order from. It is a little pricey, but it is well worth the martinis are phenomenal and the menu is stacked full of different kinds. My favorite dish is the Panang Curry, I come at least once every month to get it or if I'm having a bad day. The service is wonderful, I give them a lot of credit for balancing martinis from the bar to the tables! The staff is amazing, and are so excited and grateful to those who come in to dine. The inside is beautiful and elegant, i recommend bringing a date here if you want to impress someone. I could rave about this place all day. read more

Intrigued by the Viatnamese, Thai, and French infusion cuisine, I brought my husband here for a celebratory dinner.  We had an INCREDIBLE time, and I am so, so grateful that this was the spot we chose! The food was to die for (we had the Spicy Lemongrass Beef and the Mussels to start - my husband was literally drinking the creamy garlic blanc sauce from the bowl - followed by the Chicken Pho and the Pineapple Curry Shrimp).  We did not take any pictures because we were having such a great time, but every single dish was 5 stars! Jess was our server, and she took fantastic care of us and made us feel right at home. Had an excellent meal here. Pad see eiw was excellent-- we had the seafood version. We also had the saffron grouper which was amazing. Ordered the wings-- flavorful, but not fried or crispy. More like a stewed chicken vs a typical wing. We also had the mezcal rhubarb martini and the strawberry tequila martini-- both great. We will be back and want to try the pad Thai and several other dishes which sounded wonderful. Huge booze selection, too. And really friendly server-- she was great. They were understaffed on front of house, but still did a good job and our food came out in a timely manner. One critique-- they need their lights on dimmers! Was a smidge too bright. What a find! Recommended to us by 2 sets of friends, for SE Asian (Vietnamese with French influence) flare this place can't be beat. For apps we had spring rolls, meat balls, lemongrass beef, duo cargot, and banh xeo. For mains pork shank, pho, chicken & basil, and salmon. All dishes were excellent. We loaded up on apps but if had to do it again would not get the duo cargot. Servers were under staffed , working very hard but couldn't help but get behind. How disappointing. First and last time at this restaurant. I had spring rolls and pho, both of which were the worst I have tried. The pho was sooooo bad I couldn't understand how. The spring rolls were awful. My wife tried the Thai dishes and couldn't eat a 1/4 of her dish. She had shrimp that she was concerned were off. We just love this place. It has served us well for dinner out, Sisters Night, and carry-out. You will not find a better selection of martinis or a more eclectic menu. The service is always top-notch and our carry-out order is always perfect. I have never gone there/ordered from there without getting the avocado rolls. They are so very delicious. This place is just the perfect solution when my 3 adult children all want something really good ( one vegan, one gluten-free, one vegetarian) . Plus, their mates are all omnivores-- so they can find plenty of chicken and beef dishes, too I really just want this restaurant to STAY and survive. I don't know if locals are intimidated by the cuisine ( French, Thai, Vietnamese), but there truly is something there for everyone. read more

The flavours here are really really off. I don't know exactly what is in the sauce in the pad see ew and the Thai fried rice but couldn't make it past the first bite. I'm very familiar with Thai food and this just wasn't good Thai good. I think it may be fish sauce and vinegar but it was extremely strong and overwhelming. The crispy avocado rolls and pho were edible but not enjoyable. The service however was excellent and our server offered to remake the noodle dish but unfortunately the second time around wasn't that much better either. I have to start by saying that I absolutely love this restaurant! I live in Oak Park and I would drive to the Evergreen Park location because the food, service, and ambience is that of a fine dining restaurant. When I found out that there would be a Westchester location, I was excited. Unfortunately, I was disappointed, not by the food but by a few hospitality practices. The first time I visited, I ordered the tempura appetizer, which was burned. I decided to overlook the issue. I ate a few pieces to be sure it was over cooked, and I was. It tasted burned. I asked for the app to be wrapped and the server took it to the back. I thought nothing of it. I ordered an entree, which was good, and asked for the bill and my appetizer. The server told be that she threw it out because she thought I didn't want it. She was apologetic and assured me that she'd make a batch to go. A few minutes pasted, and the server came back with the same appetizer that she'd told me she threw out... disgusting. I visited location about 6 more times after that, without incident. Just yesterday, I visited with a friend. We ordered two cocktails, two appetizers, and two entrees. The manager, Manny, was out server. We enjoyed the drink and apps, and Manny brought out one entree. We were patently waiting for my friend's entree and after ten minutes, I asked Manny if it would be coming out soon. Some how, he didn't get my friend's order. Manny assured us that it would take about three minutes to bring the entree out. I asked for my food to be warmed while we waited. 15 minutes later, the food comes. My friend thought that we should receive some sort of compensation and asked a female server that was helping us if we could have two complimentary drinks. She said "yes, I'll talk with Manny because of the mistake. A few minutes later, Manny comes to our table and asks if we would like two drinks and we agreed. When the bill came, there was no compensation for anything, including the drinks. We told Manny that the female server said that the drinks would be complimentary and he took his glasses off, cleaned them and said, "she doesn't have that authority". He was totally unapologetic about the 30 minute wait and his mistake. I asked if my friend could have fresh rice to go with their meal. Manny was so petty that he told us that it would take 30 minutes for fresh rice...in the middle of a busy dinner service and almost EVERY dish has a rice accompaniment. I'm extremely disappointed in the way that Manny handled the situation. He has seen me dine in at least 8 times since the new location opened. Unfortunate situation. read more

We had the Thai egg rolls & lemongrass beef appetizers - both were very tasty. All four of us really enjoyed our entrees - I had the Alaskan Salmon with mixed vegetables and rice and our family also ordered the lemongrass scallops & shrimp, spicy basil chicken & saffron grouper with wasabi mashed potatoes. Great place! Stopped through on a Friday night. I got the spring roll and the shrimp pad thai. The spring roll was good but had a lot of been sprouts in it. The pad thai was probably some of the best pad thai I have had in a long time. The sauce was fantastic and the fresh ginger in the dish was a nice touch. We had Vietnamese spring rolls, terrine de foies, Vietnamese bbq wings, pad see eiw with scallop & shrimp, saffron grouper, duck confit, iced tea, ginger beer & coffee. Got take out a few weeks ago. Pho was pretty bad. Noodles are over cooked before even adding broth and by the time broth was added, it was just a giant pasty clumped mess with the texture of one giant noodle. Green mango salad was not green mango - just normal sweet yellow mango with baby greens. The dressing was already added to the salad and soggy by the 10 min. car ride home. Also leaked in the bag. Shrimp in salad was ok. Pad Thai was normal - nothing outstanding. I have tried this place 2x now and really wanted to fall in love with it since it's so close to home and Evergreen location is such a hit. Unassuming location but definitely a place to try. Was surprised with the huge selection of mixed drinks from the bar (almost 100 I was told by our server). I have driven by this restaurant many times and finally stopped in for lunch. What a great move! The decor was bright and cheery. The host sat us by the window which was great since it was a nice sunny day. We started with cocktails which were good (the bartender did not skimp on the alcohol). We ordered the spicy lemon grass beef. So tasty and the right amount of spice. And a good size portion! We also ordered the avocado crispy rolls which were so flavorful and not al all greasy (sometimes crispy rolls can taste a bit greasy to me). We split the garlic chicken and what a treat! The chicken was so juicy and the vegetables cooked just right. So fresh tasting. The appetizers and entree were brought to our table within a reasonable amount of time and pipping hot. We will definitely return to try more of this restaurant's fabulous food. read more

My husband and I love ThiThi's Restaurant!!!!! We loved the atmosphere and the food is delicious! We had Chicken Pad Thai and the Garlic Chicken. We also, loved the Spring Rolls and we felt the Satay was the best we have ever had. Of course, we had to top our meal off with dessert. We had the Chocolate Cheese Cake and it was amazingly good!!!!! Jess was our server and she was very engaging and helpful!!!! The fact that she lived in Viet Nam for 6 years was helpful!!! I've tired this place now twice and it's a no for me. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Thai food and I really had hoped I found a place close to home but this place doesn't do it for me. I had the pineapple fried rice which was void of any asian flavors at all and loaded with huge chunks of chicken. It tasted more like a basic chicken and rice dish. My friend had the Chicken Pad Thai and she wasn't able to get past 3 forks. It was way too salty and the vinegar was overwhelming. They were gracious enough to take it off the bill. We also tried some appetizers. The avocado egg rolls were undercooked yet burnt on the outside and the Calamari tasted like rubbber - I doubt this was fresh! I consider myself a pretty good cook and Iove cooking Asian food and different types of foods so I know how one wrong spice can kill a meal! Now...thank God for the service and the drinks or this review would be 2 stars. I had the green tea martini and it was delicious! My friend had a fancy margarita that needed to be reworked to be tolerable but the service was 5 stars all day. This is the kind of place for which you don't want to leave too great a review...and there are not too many of those. Why? Because it is a place that excites you with tastes and textures and palate pleasers you did not know existed. (I hear their martinis are to die for, though I cannot drink them.) Passing this kind of information along can foil one's ability to get a reservation when it become very popular, and we are very selfish about our treasured places of delicacies. That being said, it is the "current environment" which forced me to share this treasure with those who seek a refuge of consistency and culinary imagination to delight all of your senses. I would be very selfish not to do so. Despite the current shortages and other challenges, Chi (the owner) is determined to make everything she serves a reason to keep visiting to taste more of what she offers. This restaurant recently opened and is just wonderful. We ordered three different meals that we could all share. The pod thai was the best we ever had. The short ribs were luscious. The soup full of flavor without being too salty. Their Evergreen Park location is second out of 74 restaurants (just so you know I am not anyone but a patron). This new location is in a convenient spot and so tastefully decorated. You will not only love the food, since the service comes in a very close second. Thanks, Ricky!
