1st timers here. Nice view of the mountainside & it was nice to dine al' fresco. Hostess & bar staff were great and attentive. They had a guitarist playing inside and almost had a full house for a Saturday night. Our Server was great and accomodating when I asked to switch out my cup of coffee for espresso instead & comped my cocktail that came after dinner. Onto the food. It was restaurant week and 2 got the pre-fixe menu and the other 4 of us ordered from the regular menu. We ordered 2 homemade pasta dishes and the other 2 ordered the prime rib entree's. I tasted the citrus & roasted beet salad and it was quite tasty & refreshing. Fritto misto was good, no complaints. I ordered the chicken parmigiana, chicken was dry and marinara sauce was salty. The boys had the prime rib and loved it, but the aides (potatoes & carrots) were almost burnt and over done. Clearly a local spot with regulars. This was our 2nd time trying this place! First time for brunch was extremely disappointing. The food was just bad! This time - couldn't even get in for Friday evening happy hour. Waited for a table outside that we were told we could then go inside. After waiting 10 minutes, they changed their mind and told us we would have to sit outside in the sun. This great restaurant, the food is amazing and really well made. Homemade prime rib and roasted chicken. I had the prime rib French dip with a side of parmesan and garlic fries and it was delicious. I also had the carrot cake which was really good. The French dip was rare and moist and the Anjou dip went perfectly with the sandwich. The service was excellent. My waitress was extremely polite and helpful considering that it was my first time visiting this restaurant and that made the experience that much more enjoyable. The ambiance of this restaurant is very sharp and clean. There are a few other restaurants in the area which are similar in style, but they mostly just phone it in when comes food and service. This place however has great food and service. I will certainly be returning here again in the near future. read more

Dined alfresco at T105. The view of mountains with fire feature was very cool. Very attentive server. The rotisserie chicken was crispy/juicy delicious.. the artichoke appetizer was slow to come out so she comped it. Nice move. Girls and I went for dinner and cocktails. Excellent ambience and a gorgeous view of the McDowell mountains. Great place to bring visitors from out of state. I had a French dip with mac & cheese. We had the deep-fried flounder with seasoned french fries and a Cobb salad and a side of the mac & cheese. All the food was wonderful, except the mac & cheese very bland no cheesiness to it no seasoning definitely would not order that again. I really wanted a Cosmo martini, but what, a nice place like this and only TripleSec. Gotta have at the very least Cointreau for a good Cosmo. All the servers were really nice. Overall, great place definitely will come back just won't order mac & cheese again. He also have a happy hour from 3 to 6 Monday through Friday. The menu looks really good for that. What a great neighborhood restaurant! The food is always on point and the service is great. If you can't make it for the happy hour specials, I highly recommend the prime rib and Focaccia bread but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. This place was the old twisted lizard. The ambiance and decor are much improved. The decor is modern and fresh. It's definitely not twisted lizard 2.0. It is a complete reinvention of the space under new ownership. I've been here twice in the last week and really like this upscale neighborhood restaurant! The 1st time I sit inside with a date. I had the fish special with coconut rice. I loved it. My friend half rotisserie chicken and also loved his. But the highlight of the evening besides the delicious food was our bubbly waitress GRACE who had this amazing memory reciting the nights specials. The 2nd night I sat and made a reservation for outdoor seating. I highly recommend it. I brought a visiting outta state friend here. We caught the last few minutes of happy hour and loved their sliders! Especially the prime rib ones with a tiny bit of horseradish. Margaritas could have been stronger but when can't they be !! Returned w another couple last night. Sat I'm a booth in the bar which was not too noisy & great atmosphere. Shared calamari app which was delicious. Drinks were great. Waitress was great. I had a burger Thompson 105 w onion rings which was great. One person had chicken sandwich he loved. But other two had the prime rib sandwich. We asked for it rare & lean. It came med rare to well done. The bun WAS AWFUL. It overwhelmed the sandwich. Neither party liked it & did not finish it. The chocolate martini was NOT good. It was way too creamy & too much milk or cream. But pretty bad. read more

This is one of our favorite places for a relaxed happy hour or early dinner. They have a rare menu option which is to order a "small" plate of any of their pastas. It's lunch sized... which is so much more appropriate for a meal than the supersized things that are the only option at most other restaurants. I've seen this option only at restaurants owned by old fashioned Italians with kitchen skills and my past experience seems tk hold true here as the pastas have a very authentic flavor to them... good ingredients and proper sizing is amazing... of course the dinner sized plate is available, for those who have gotten used to taking home a doggie bag... And their bar menu deserves a mention... some nice crafting on this menu, worth getting creative. read more

Came here for happy hour and loved the food and views. The open windows made the space feel bright and open. I loved that all glasses of wine were discounted and the snacks we got were tasty. It was fairly busy, but we were able to get a couple of seats at the bar. The best part was the views. I'd love to come back and sit on the patio and sample more of the menu. read more

My daughter gave birth the night before at Honor Health Scottsdale Shea Hospital. I use yelp to find restaurants that was close to our location. Although, there are many restaurants around the area that were adequate, we were looking for something unique, which was rotisserie chicken in a fine dining restaurant. Hence, we came across Thompson 105. Excited to go there and order our scrumptious rotisserie chicken, we realized it was further from the hospital and took us almost 15 minutes to get there. We already committed so we thought let's just go ahead and order something. The restaurant looked very elegant and a really nice high-end neighborhood eatery. The hostess greeted us with a smile, which was a nice way to welcome us. I told her we were ordering out and she proceeded to give me the menu. I asked her what her specials are and of course she said the rotisserie. I said give me two of those, a house salad and focaccia bread. You would think this should only take 15 minutes. So we sat by the bar to kill some time. After 30 minutes went by we didn't hear anything about our order so I went up to the hostess and she said oh it's about five minutes. Another 30 minutes later, which was a total of one hour, a different, hostess finally gave us our food. I noticed it was a different hostess from the beginning who took our order so she never relayed the message from the original hostess that we are in need of five plates and silverware to go. Luckily, I asked if I received them and of course she didn't so she had to go back and get more. My point here is that no one came up to us after 20 minutes and apologized about how long we're waiting or letting us know when our order would be completed. Instead, I had to go to the hostess who lied and said 5 minutes, but really took another 30 minutes. I would not suggest to order rotisserie to go in this restaurant. Plus the rotisserie was a 4 out of 10 in flavor and quality. A bad Yelp suggestion. read more

I can't say enough good things about this place, we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. It was a little loud inside, so next time we're going to try sitting out on the beautiful patio. The mountain view is lovely. We weren't able to sit in a booth, as the host told us that all booths are reserved in advance. It was fine, as we were just happy to get a table without a reservation in such a busy restaurant. My sister ordered the prime rib and I ordered the filet. I tried her prime rib, and we both agreed that it was some of the best we've ever tasted. The smoky pecan flavor was delicious. Our lemon martinis were exceptional. The carrot cake we shared for dessert was the best carrot cake I've ever tasted! Our waitress was very informative and attentive. We will be back! read more

Prices for food and drinks were reasonable Had one of the specials of the day, Fish and Chips, with the fish being halibut which you don't often see. Really want to love this place but the food and service is just average. Great decor and promising menu. Also love the indoor/outdoor bar. But this place falls short on flavor and favor. Food needs a spice boost (Carbonara was bland, Salmon was fishy) and service could use an upgrade. An added disappointment is that this seemingly upscale restaurant/bar has no Grand Mariner for their margaritas, even though their menu offers $15-$85 tequilas. I was told the owner/manager hadn't ordered Grand Mariner in over a month and they offered Cointreau instead, but that's a big oversight in my opinion since Grand Mariner is made with cognac and has a more refined flavor. This was our second trip here but there will not likely be a third. read more

Long overdue review. We have been coming to Thompson 105 for the past several months and it is becoming one of our go to restaurants for several reasons. First, the service which on every visit has been consistent, friendly and on point. Secondly, the food is great and I love that they offer the half portions on many of their dishes if you aren't in the mood for a big meal. Finally, the atmosphere is very nice. If you haven't given them a try, check them out. I will say they stay pretty busy, so make a reservation if you do not want to wait. read more
