My boyfriend and I always come here when we want a fancy drink night. The cocktails are always so unique and very well made. Pricey, but worth it. They're stronger and tastier than most. The vibes and decor also give a very nice, classy vintage feel. If you plan to go on a weekend or Friday night, be sure to plan to wait at least 30-45 min for a spot (you'll likely get a spot almost immediately if you're just a party of 1 or 2).

First time coming here, inside another bar. Sucks that you can't make reservations. It's first come first serve, when we got there to add ourselves for the waitlist it was at 2 hrs, which it ended up working out, we found another bar to go to. The waitress was great!! It's a cool spot to check it out.

I was excited to learn that there was a speakeasy in Temecula....I am a big fan of speakeasys....This one is right in the heart of old town Temecula within a restaurant and behind a hidden door. We popped in a bit early and it was happy hour time. Although the happy hour menu was not really offered to us until we asked- the happy hour selection is very limited, but the specialty drink of the night was a good change up on regular offerings on happy hour. The happy hour drink was $10.00. As it was so early, just opened on a weekday, we were at the bar all by ourselves. The bar was a bit bright at this time--I think it was so bright as the employees were busy restocking. I have heard during prime time the place is more darkly lit and super busy. Despite the brightness it was fun to marvel at all the cool decors. This place has tons of decorations. Parking can be found on the street. The parking is metered. During prime-time downtown can be challenging to park. Worth a visit just to marvel at the decorations.

Fun, laid-back speakeasy and the perfect way to end the evening. No food served inside speakeasy. But restaurant located right outside. The western theme gives it a unique atmosphere, and the music was spot on. The service was friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. If you're in the area and looking for a great spot to unwind, I highly recommend checking it out.

Favorite bar in downtown. Hung out and played cards in the speak easy. The drinks were delicious and came out fast. The bar is dimly lit with a western vibe. Servers and patrons were friendly. Clean restrooms.

Ambience is terrific if you're looking for a chill place where you can have a good and relaxing evening. Drinks are great and so is the friendly service.

A super cute speakeasy in old town Temecula! We had an hour to kill before dinner so we walked around and happened to come across Thompson & Twain (located inside Crush & Brew). We dropped in on a Thursday at 6pm which was during happy hour (until 7pm). They had a happy hour menu with $10 cocktails which were superb! They also have their normal menu with unique cocktails so we ordered some from there as well. What particularly stood out to me was their service and non-alcoholic cocktails. My husband doesn't drink alcohol and our waitress took the time to understand his preferred flavor profiles and the bartender was able to whip up 2 mocktails that were absolutely delicious and had a lot of depth for a non alcoholic beverage. Definitely stop by for pre-dinner or post-dinner drinks! They don't serve any food or snacks unfortunately.

So glad we got to try this place. They were great and willing to accommodate our big group and the staff were super helpful. All of the cocktails we tried were complex and excellent. Loved all of the King of the Hill references for the drink names too. Would love to stop in again next time in Temecula for a nice quiet sit down cocktail experience.

Our go-to stop after visiting the wineries in Temecula. It's the perfect place for a nightcap and to wind down after a day of wine tasting. This time, they had seasonal drinks, and they were so good I ended up getting two. Great cocktails, cozy atmosphere, and a perfect way to end the day.

Walked right in on a Sunday afternoon. Bartenders were nice and accommodating. Bathroom could use some attention

I've been coming to Temecula for years and have been to Crush & Brew a handful of times and yet never knew they had a speakeasy right in plain sight... apparently I'm not as observant as I thought. We made our way in through the dimly lit mineshaft-esque hallway and were greeted by a young man at the host stand. He advised us that it'd be about half an hour but he took our information and gave us a couple drink tickets for Crush & Brew for while we waited. The wait ended up being closer to an hour but it worked out because we were having a good time at Crush & Brew. As we walked back through the hallway to be seated in T&T, I took note of the sign at the entrance and was sure to check both my finger-guns at the door as ordered by the sheriff. We were then led back into the speakeasy. Upon walking in, my first thoughts of the decor was an old west style saloon. The movie Tombstone came to mind as did The Palace saloon in Prescott, AZ. We sat right at the bar which was great because it gave us an opportunity to speak with the mixologists. My wife first ordered a drink she coined "Italian summer" of which she asked for a drink that would make her feel like she was on a summer vacation in Italy. The mixologist made this happen and she was given a drink that she said was perfectly executed and captured what she had in mind. She then moved on to a "Tical a mockingbird". I started off with an "Exchange Student" cocktail which caught my attention because of some of the ingredients that I'd never experienced in a cocktail before. I then moved to an "I'm not extremely complicated, just extreme" which also gave me a great combination of flavor and seemed interesting because of the combined Japanese whiskey and rum and I finished off the evening with a "Never cry s*** wolf" or as I jokingly ordered it "Never s*** on a crying wolf". This last drink was right up my alley and was representative of a smoked old fashioned but without the actual smoke. All around a fantastic combination of drinks and a wonderful vibe in this speakeasy. For me, the old western mining theme really checked a box because I love old western movies and visiting ghost towns and ghost mines. I was sure to collect my checked my finger-guns from the host upon our departure.

This place is SOOO CUTE. We were obsessed with the ambiance and decor. It looks like a bar that would be in Disneyland. There was a bit of a wait for our table but we just went somewhere in between to hangout. Right when we walked in, we were greeted by Allie who was AMAZING. Such a bright light and so fun to talk to. You can really tell that she loves what she does. She was VERY attentive and brought out our drinks super fast. She also gave us a few winery and restaurant recommendations. She really made the experience at Thompson & Twain even better! Our drinks were amazing and very unique. Overall highly recommend this place and we will def be coming back when we are in Temecula next time!!

Ask the Community - Thompson & Twain Prospecting Co

I have been to the Crush An Brew speakeasy, but are you a separate restaurant that serves steaks and western food in the same building? And what is your phone number?

Thompson and Twain is within Crush&Brew and only serves drinks. Crush&Brew is its own separate restaurant with its own menu that includes starters, entrees, handhelds, salads and flatbreads. I hope that helps.

    Are there pool tables?

Hi McKenzie, Our speakeasy has limited seating, so we do not have pool tables.

I'm looking to make a reservation on the website for the speakeasy, but it only has a dining option. If I make a reservation under dining will I still be able to use the reservation for the speakeasy?

Devanie, Dining Room is the standard language used for the seating area by our table management software. Yes this reservation is for seating in Thompson and Twain. Hope to see you soon.

How is the whiskey selection. Love my BTAC'S and wanted to see what ya have in stock?

Hi Nick, we do occasionally stock the Antique Collection line but it is in high demand and doesn't last too long. We grab up allocated Bourbons when available but they come and go - currently we have Wild Turkey Cornerstone, Decades and Revival,…

When making online reservations, it gives the option for bar or dining room. I thought the didn't serve food. Is the dining room option part of the speakeasy?

Kori, you are correct we do not serve food, our reservation software provider only allows for those seating designations (and patio). Thanks!

Is there a safe word or code word you need to get in?

Sheena, no safe word but we recommend reservations which can be made at www.thompsonandtwain.com. There is room for walk ins but the space fills up quick. Thank you!

Do they offer military/first responder discounts?

How do I make a reservation?

Hi Rick, all reservations can be made at www.thompsonandtwain.com. Thank you for thinking of us!

    Is there a happy hour?

I don't know if they have a traditional happy hour, they are more of a craft bar. The restaurant they are inside of though I'm sure has a happy hour. Either way it's a place you won't want to miss!!

Do they have a dinner menu??? Can't seem to find it?

Unfortunately, no food is served in the bar itself, spirits and PBR (smh) only. If you ask nicely, the staff will direct you towards their neighboring restaurants Crush & Brew and Espadín if you're looking for grub.

    Are reservations needed?

No, they are not needed. Just recommended if your are looking for a specific time. We try to accommodate all guests but we do fill up during busy hours.

My husband and I just finished our dinner at Teleferic Barcelona when I suggested we give Raised by Wolves another try - as we had about an hour before picking up the kids. For a Saturday, I was pleasantly surprised that as walk-ups we only had to wait a few minutes before we were seated at the bar inside. While we waited, we enjoyed perusing their bottle selections for purchase and I'm happy to say that playing music slightly louder in the waiting/market area helped dull the sounds from the inside bar. It helps create more of a 'moment' when you sit at the fireplace and slowly turn inside. This time we were seated right at the bar, which was perfect for us. Chuck was our bartender and 10/10 on the cocktails he made. This time, I went with their Tiki Room and my husband an off-menu Boulevardier (which I have to say I'm impressed he knew what that was because even I didn't, lol). Both drinks were perfectly crafted and enjoyed by both of us. We only had a moment for just one drink this time, but I have to say our experience was so much better than our first (perhaps a fluke of an evening). The staff were all welcoming and knowledgable, other guests were dressed well, and the ambiance lent itself to the vibe we were looking for. After doing some homework, I made the connection that Raised By Wolves was part of the hospitality group that also owns Lafayette Hotel, The Baby Grand, Ironside, etc...all locations my husband and I absolutely adore. Happy to support such amazing places around San Diego and I look forward to more!
