This review is for their location at the federal building: The food is good, but very inconsistent. They have a new person running the counter every few days. They each make the food and portions differently. They are regularly out of items. Today the woman (half shaved head) running the register charged me wrong. She was also only filling medium soup bowls halfway up. Several people asked why they werent filling the cups properly and she said their "sizes are messed up". I get the same size soup 2-3 days per week and they always fill them, this girl clearly didnt know what she was doing. I wish this place would get some consistently and regularity going. It started strong by has steadily gone downhill since coming to the building. I would also recommend hiring a more professional staff. The employees here talk to the customers about inappropriate personal information. read more

The caprese panini is my favorite: chicken, mozzarella, tomato and pesto. Five stars is for the soup and bread. I have not tried many of the sandwiches and wraps. In fact, I've only tried the Cuban panini and it was not super memorable. But the soup is fantastic! I've tried several soups there. Potato spinach curry (a little spicy for soup, but good), breakfast sausage potato (awesome) and tomato parmigiana (my personal favorite). They also have great bread to go with it and the prices are very reasonable. I have been there several times from work since it is close to my office. I have been there usually around 10:45 or 11:00. I understand that after that time it gets quite busy. But it makes sense that people would wait in line for that soup. I'll be back to try some more of the soups. So, the sandwiches seem to be so-so, but the five stars are for the awesome soup and fresh bread. I highly recommend giving them a try. read more

I was craving some warm, delicious soup on a snowy, windy day. Went here to check it out. Was disappointed by the unfriendly help behind the counter, the very small portion of salad in the soup & salad combo, and the wasteful use of styrofoam for both soup & salad for in-house eating. It was pricy for the amount of food I was given. The sandwich my husband had looked much better than my small portion of romaine lettuce in my styrofoam cup. I will not support businesses who choose not to be environmentally conscious in today's world. It ruined what may have been a better lunch. read more

A great place for a weekday lunch. I've been a few times and definitely think this is the place to go for soup. The other things are done fairly well (salads and sandwiches), but the soup is really their specialty. It changes up frequently and all I've tried are truly delicious. Today I went and got the Tuscan bean and sausage soup and it was wonderful! I was having a hard time deciding, but not to worry- you can taste them first! While I wouldn't go out of my way to go to Three Sisters it is a reliable place for scratch made soup and sandwiches on the east-ish side of LoDo, especially on a cold winter day. I really really tried to like this place because it is close to my office and I happen to love soup, but alas, I'm done with the sisters. After a sorry excuse for a Cubano sandwich that consisted of DRY pulled pork drowning in French's yellow mustard and then an almost $6 cup of "chicken noodle" soup on my next visit, made with macaroni noodles, corn, and 2.5" diameter carrot manhole covers, I'm bailing on this place. Did I mention CORN? Who the heck ruins classic chicken noodle soup by adding corn?! The Three Sister's do that's who. Maybe get the Brothers to give it a shot. Goodbye girls. read more

Good sandwiches and good soups. Relatively quick for lunch. The line can get long right around noon. Best bet is to get there earlier or after 12:30 for shorter lines. It's hard to find a good soup and sandwich place in downtown Denver, so I tried out Four Sisters. It's a little café off of 17th and Stout and a short walk from my office. They have the fast casual atmosphere and they had choices of soup, sandwiches, wraps, and salads. I ended up doing the half soup and half sandwich deal. It ended up being around $9. I got the Mediterranean chicken sandwich and the tomato Parmesan soup. The sandwich was about the size of a focaccia slice, so not huge, but it had a good size piece of chicken, tomato, spinach, and a nice amount of mozzarella. The tomato Parmesan was a good choice as well, there were chunks of tomato and you could lightly taste the Parmesan. I'd be interested to try some more of their soups. read more

BEST SOUPS IN THE CITY A girl that works in my office has been telling me about this place for a while now(we work in the business district) But I've never tried it mostly because I bring my own lunch most days. Today, however, I thought I'd give it a shot. Oh man! The soups were amazing and they let me try three of them. I decided on the Tomato basil, which was excellent. I've tried to make tomato soup from scratch before and have never come close to something that good. I'd give this place 4 stars because the soups were really, really good. But I'm going to give it five because I've never seen a staff work SO HARD in my life. They were running around like crazy as the line was really long. And they were all doing it with smiles on their faces. From what I saw they were all polite to every person that came through and seemed to know a lot of the people that came through, using their names. When I asked the guy at the register(he was really cute, by the way) if they were always that busty, he told me that they were. I was just really impressed by how hard they were all working. It almost looked like a dance as they were all moving around without a spill or fall. I only saw the three sisters and the guy at the counter but I imagine there had to have been a couple of other people in the kitchen as well? There's just no way four people could do all of that! I would pass out from the stress I think. But if you were ucky enough to be fed by my sisters and I then you would get much more than a bowl of creamy mushroom or beer & cheddar. I love soup. Loooooovvvvvveeee soup. So for any other Denverites who are equally inclined towards savory liquid goodness, you will know that Denver is sorely lacking in good soup restaurant options. Not only are there very few soup restaurants, but restaurants that offer soup usually half-heartedly add a soup option to appease people like me, and the outcome is usually poor. So when I read that Three Sisters Cafe on 17th and Stout was a soup restaurant I thought to my self: "Hazzah! Soup!" This restaurant features 8 soups that change daily (with the exception of the Chicken Tortilla soup). The restaurant is open until 3:30 and also features salads, wraps and paninis. However the first hurdle is getting there. Why do I do this to myself. With baby in tote, Kelley and I drove down to 17th and Stout. And while we all know that Denver is REPLETE with parking spaces, today must have been an exception (I hope you're sensing the sarcasm, cause I'm layin' it on PRETTY thick). It took five circles and a stolen parking spot to finally find some metered parking a few blocks away. Fine. At least the meters take credit cards now. Finally. It's 2:00 and there is no line, in fact we are the only ones in the restaurant which has ample seating. I went with the panini option with an added on medium soup for $2.50. They allow you to sample the soups and sample we did. The turkey chili (which is what Kelley went with) was quite good, a hearty and healthy option. We also tried the Tuscan Bean (WAAAYYY too much salt), the Chicken Tortilla (pretty tasty with a bit of a kick!) and the butternut squash. I went with the butternut squash. At first taste it was pretty good, but after a few bites I grew tired of the cinnamon and chicken stock base. It was just a little too strong. The panini was equally disappointing. I had the turkey, avocado and provolone panini. The bread was forgettable and the avocado was pasty and tasteless--smacked off an "out of the bag" deal. With my drink, panini and soup it was $11. Not too shabby for lunch (if you can avoid parking in a garage--which I would suggest would definitely be a deal breaker). But all in all I was non-plused about this place. If I was really jonesin' for some soup I would go back. But only for soup, and I would probably run in to get it while Taylor circled the block. A disappointing lunch all-in-all. Can no one quench my need for fine soup in this city?! I am too spoiled by the "Soup Kitchen" and "Big City Soup" in Salt Lake I suppose. But this is a niche that Denver definitely needs to fill. read more

My fiancé took me here because she had been here a few times before and wanted to share her find. She did an awesome job in taking me to an EXCELLENT café. I am not a huge sandwich and soup person but I was that day. I had ordered the Club and the chili bean soup. The bread on the sandwich was absolutely warm, soft and just sooooo good!!!! My absolute favorite lunch spot. I work downtown and discovered this place when a co-worker mentioned their delicious soups! 6 made form scratch soups -Different everyday and great sandwiches, wraps, salads etc. The half a sandwich and soup is the perfect amount of food. Woe is me, I work downtown as well and have been going here for quite a while and used to love the place, the soups and sandwiches are good but things have changed dramatically over the past few months. When I used to get a chicken or beef soup the ladle person always used to ensure you had a good amount of what the soup was named for (ie chicken or beef). For the last several times I have noticed this is no longer happening and the amount of actual protein in the soup is more akin to Campbells. This is bad enough, but yesterday I got the chicken noodle and walked to the office to eat it, opened it up and I had broth :0( no chicken whatsoever. I guess I'll stick to the sandwiches. read more

Not even close to your ordinary sandwich place.. it's so, so good. First and most importantly, 8 fresh soups a day. And believe me, they TASTE fresh! My absolute favorite is the Sweet Potato Corn Chowder... if you find a favorite, you can stalk to "Soup Hotline" every morning to see if it's available that day.
