tiffanys is an alright place to eat.. they cook right in front of you.. i love their different varieties of omelets..the mushrooms in them are awesome! i honestly just go there because its right around the corner from my house! For a cheap cup of coffee, go to Tiffany's Cafe. It's right in my neighborhood and the owners are super nice and attentive. The chocolate macadamia coffee is like liquid crack! OMG! I work in SF and my coworkers and I always call in our breakfast here. The girl who answers the phone is a little rough around the edges, but the guy is real nice. Their omlettes are awesome. They give you alot of food and I usually skip lunch when I eat here because their breakfast is so filling. Sometimes I sneak in an apple fritter. They are so big and delicious. I work so close by and the items that you list sound like they should be so yummy... but always screwing us a little bit on the price (either the cashier can't count or they are trying to steal 10-20 cents from you on every transaction), and how wants stale donuts anyway. Mind you, this is definitely a diner style spot in a pretty industrial part of the Bayview. However; it has a lot of great things going for it. Namely great service and delicious food. The regular staff is friendly and honest, there are a few times I was in a rush and they were slammed, but instead of just taking the lunch order & making me wait, they let me know it may be up to 20 minutes for the wait. Because I love the food I waited, but at least I was given the choice! Additional to the service the variety including healthy options are amazing for a small mom & pop establishment. I have had their breakfasts, their tuna melts, their turkey burger, their salads and wraps and I can honestly say all were fabulous in their own right. What I see as their strength is the quality of the ingredients they use and the clear freshness of the food. So yes, it's a hole in the wall worth visiting. read more

I keep saying I am never going back but I really needed some tea. I order the ginger tea from the same lady who I said should be avoided at all costs if you want to avoid jail time. Can you spell R-U-D-E. I am not sure what her issue is but it's getting pretty old. She argues me down about the price of the tea asks for my order again and shoves the cup of hot tea in my hand and never says thank you, good bye or anything. She is the spawn of Satan I tell you. So I call on the phone to get her name and guess who answers the phone? Right you guessed it the spawn of satan. She is even rude over the phone. She finally tells me her name is Veronica. I work close by and was looking for a pick-me-up during lunch. I passed by Tiffany's a few times, thinking it would be a good time to give it a try. Boy, was I wrong. I ordered their daily special, the Hawaiian Plate (I was REALLY HUNGRY.) After waiting 10 minutes, the food finally came up to the window just in time to be ignored by the waitress making a smoothie. As 3 other to go boxes piled up at the window, she FINALLY noticed they were sitting there 5 minutes later. 15 minutes until after I ordered my food, she finally handed me my food. I then ventured into Walgreens, where all of a sudden I hear, "YOU!!!!!!!" It was the waitress beckoning me back over to the Cafe because she mixed my order up. When I got back to work, I opened the box and the beef was gross chopped up hamburger meat with overcooked mushy carrots and broccoli. They also forgot my macaroni salad. I am not one to usually complain or recommend a place, but this travesty cannot stand! First off let me say, that this is not the first time I've gotten some dicey looking product from this place, so this isn't an isolated incident. But I work close by and options are limited and every place has its bad days every now and then. Anyway, I went in and ordered a cheeseburger to go. Since they never ask what temp you want the burger, I assume these are frozen patties. No biggie, a lot of places do that. So I sit down and wait for my order. While I am waiting, one guy sticks his hand up and complains that there is a hair in his food. A long one, which was weird, since no one working there had long hair. Now from his vantage point, he can't see what is going on in the kitchen, but I can. They simply moved the food from one plate to another, waited the appropiate amount of time and gave it right back to him! Not cool and I wish now I had said something to the guy, because karma paid me right back for my silence! I wait for about another 15 minutes and my order is done. I grab my burger and walk 1 block back to my office. I open up the container and see this pitifully wilted burger just sitting there. I have ordered from the place before and they always stick the bun on top of the cheese, with lettuce, tomato and onion on the side. That sucks, because the cheese melts and you can't get the bun off to add the stuff! So this time, I sigh and attempt to lever the bun off so I can put some condiments on it. However to my complete surprise, the bun comes right off! Weird, I think, it's like 90 degress outside and it's on top of a hot burger, how could it not melt? I take a closer look at the burger and it seems...overcooked. So I poke at it. Slightly warm, like room temparture. Like so cold no way it has seen a burner or griddle or microwave anytime within the last hour. In fact it looked suspiciously precooked sometime yesterday and not even reheated. I cook a lot, I mean a lot, so I can kinda tell when I'm looking at some old meat. Also there was a suspicious lack of grease on the bun, the burger OR the cheese. While actually no at all. No way this burger was cooked and then put in that bun anytime recently. And that leads me to why I am writing this post. No matter which way I look at it, I was served a beef burger that had not been freshly cooked OR kept warm OR refridgerated and then reheated. Which is DANGEROUS as all get out. That is exactly how you get food poisoning and that is NOT COOL! And if they'll do it once, they will do it again. So if you value your stomach and your health, I would highly recommend not eating anything there that requires cooking or heat. And don't buy the doughnuts! Those suckers are a day old too! Probably more. Of course I didn't eat the thing, so I feel like I dodged a bullet and after this latest move, I will never go back there again. I should have listened to myself the first couple of times they served me some questionable items. So my advice to you, if you are at Tiffany's and if you think something is wrong with your food, you are probably right! Trust your gut! read more
