First time visiting the Blossom Market so I made sure to try out multiple businesses. I was excited to order a buko pandan. I approached the register and I couldn't see the employee. I then went on the side of the pick up window and saw the employee standing there. I did wave him down to order because he had both of his AirPods on. I placed my order and he handed me a pager. I would've liked to receive some type of customer service as he made it seem like a bother to make my order. Buko Pandan 10/10- Refreshing and was exactly what I expected. After receiving my order I did notice that you can borrow a boba bingo. You do need to give a refundable deposit which I totally understood. I came back after bringing my order to my table. The employee now had his back turned towards the counter/register while still on his AirPods. He didn't appear to be doing anything luckily after a few minutes he turned around. I asked him if I could borrow the game and handed him the deposit. He then proceeded to open the register to where I saw him place my $20. After a few rounds of playing, I returned their game and asked for my deposit back. He looked a bit confused and I reminded him of my $20 which he then took out of his apron. I didn't have a lot of interactions with this employee but, he did concern me in the sense that he was the closing employee who is in charge of someone's small business. This place has great tasting desserts! I'm hoping the employee was just having a one off as I have seen pictures of other employees with captions of their great service. I'm a big fan of Halo halo and don't mind driving far to try it if it's good. I was so excited to order two Halo halo and one Maiz Con Yelo, but they turned out to be disappointing. They charged $13 for a regular, and the only thing included was one scoop of ice cream on top and very tiny toppings that were barely visible. The rest was all crushed ice. We basically ate ice. This review is long overdue. They started out as Tim, the owner, making thai tea for family and friends. It was always an anticipated item at our gatherings that the saying "you should make a business out of this" came into bloom. After adding his wife, Maggie, to the mix, they became Tim's Thai Tea + Mags Matamis. During covid they had their pop-ups and catering, and from there they continued to rocket. Fast forward to now, they are located at Blossom Market Hall, an awesome location in SGV! Their thai tea can be served in a pouch, something unique from a typical cup with ice. They also serve filipino desserts and food with favorites such as halo halo, buko pandan, and mais con yelo. Get the flight special if you want all three. Loved it!! I got Tim's Thai Iced Tea this weekend and it was delicious + perfectly sweet. My friend got the Thai Iced Coffee which was also very good and on the sweet side. For $6 each, I felt these drinks were a great value. They come in plastic bags + a straw which makes for a fun carry around. I chose to not get boba so I could have more tea instead and I'm glad I did. They have an extensive menu and I'd like to try their ice cream boba options in the future. (It's literally slivers of melon, a little bit of the juice/water/sugar, with ice) they wanted to charge $13 for that...what is this, the Erewhon of Asian street vendors? I'm not a fan of Hawaiian shaved ice because it's chunks of ice and syrups, but THIS! It reminds me of the Cambodian shaved ice I'd eat all the time!! It's honestly very similar but with ube paste and ice cream on top!! I think this should be a crowd favorite, and anyone who tries will find it hard for it to be disappointing!! Quail Eggs Red Hot Dogs with Mini Marshmallows Their street food snacks are complemented with SO MANY SAUCES!! LOL I was offered so many, but I went with the hot garlic Thai sauce and sriracha ketchup (I believe... all the sauce names came at me so fast!! ). Would go back!! I had the melon juice, buko pandan, and halo halo. All good and yummy, but definitely the halo halo not worth the high price tag. $17 plus tax and tip for a regular sized halo halo when you can get similar for less at Chow King (for the true OGs) or a huge portion for the same price at B Sweet? For this price I should be getting a shot of alcohol in this halo halo. Also, the amount of "sahog" in the halo halo is lacking. It's mostly the shaved ice. I think if you're going to charge this much, I should have a good amount of beans, jellies, shredded coconut, langka, pinipig, a good helping of leche flan, and ice cream. There wasn't even nata de coco. I think pricing is definitely inflated for what it is. If pricing doesn't matter to you, and you're not willing to explore other options outside of SGV, then this place serves good enough sweet treats, but you can definitely find similar or better tasting for less OR value that fits the price tag if you know where to go. And while I'm not from the LA area, I had heard of Tim's Thai Tea years ago, but was never able to catch them at one of their event locations on any previous visit to LA (despite following them on IG). To my delight, Tim's opened a permanent location inside Blossom Market Hall in San Gabriel and I was finally able to give them a try. They have a fair amount of menu offerings, quite a few of which looked good, but I was there for the thai tea, their namesake item. The time had finally come, and....it was surprisingly average, mediocre even. I noticed before taking a sip that it had tea sediment at the bottom of the bag, a telltale sign of freshly brewed tea. We had the pleasure of having Tim's Thai Tea cater the desserts our wedding reception and it was a BIG hit for our guests. The customer service exceeded what we expected. Maggie and Tim (the owners) are the most sweet and accommodating pair. They were so fun to work with and went out of their way to make adorable customized signage for our event and provided tickets to our guests to redeem their ice cream. The children really enjoyed exchanging their tickets for sweet treats. The presentation of the desserts left our guests stunned and we couldn't have been happier with the overall experience. The shave ice was fine, but the halo halo was essentially just a shaved ice with a hint of traditional flavor--it felt like a complete ripoff. Tim's Thai taste is rich and authentic and my boyfriend claimed it was the best Thai Tea he's had yet. We also got the Fried Lobster balls and Kwek Kwek Skewers that has a quail egg inside. Both tastes delicious. This stand also has Mags Matamis that produces a Buko Pandan dessert that has Condense Milk, Shaved Ice, Fresh Coconut Shavings, evaporated Milk mixed with Pandan extract, topped with Tapioca Pearls, Green Gulaman, Buko Pandan Ice Cream and toasted coconut.
