We visited on June 28th. The food was delicious, (and my chicken was plated beautifully) and so was the back garden and inside of the restaurant. However, the service was absolutely horrendous. Never have I ever had to go inside and ask for more water and utensils. Our waitress did not once come to check on us during our meal. She took a solid 25 minutes to bring us our lemon for my club soda, which she forgot about in the first place. She did not know about the items on the menu and seemed clueless, and brought us the wrong drink. She is very lucky that I even left her 15%. My family and I will not be dining at Timothy's again. Our go to place in SW Michigan. The horseradish encrusted whitefish has been on the menu at Timothy's since the days when they were located at the Gordon Beach Inn, and it's still my favorite on the menu. I tried the chilean sea bass recently and was not impressed. It looks good and was well cooked and prepared, but it lacks flavor and it's a small piece of fish for $44. The crowd inside gets very loud on weekends, but the atmosphere is nice to bring friends for good meal. Service is always good. read more

I joined 7 friends last wed evening for dinner at Timothy's. Having never been there before I didn't know quite what to expect. Friends had said many good things about the place. My meal, the Wednesday evening BBQ Rib special was excellent. There are two BBQ sauce options. A standard smoke BBQ flavor, and an Asian BBQ as well. Oh boy!!!!!! That place is so loud and noisy. It's almost deafening. The food was terrible. I really hate writing bad reviews but this was my experience. I got their house salad with their in house dressing. It was terrible but no worries it gets worse. I ordered their jumbo shrimp and scallops. The shrimp was the size of about a quarter. Scallops had so much grit and sand in them. Their homemade noodles where lacking major. I ordered a blueberry martini. It also was terrible. Fantastic place. Though we arrived at the beginning of rush, they seated us at a table facing their beautiful yard/patio/bar. The service was fantastic and our waiter Charbel was spot on with every suggestion. Though I don't eat much meat, I was in the mood and it was prepared exceptional. We had a group of 11 ladies on our yearly Girl's Weekend. We were happily accommodated with a long table. (We did have a reservation) The place is colorful. The food was excellent. I had the horseradish encrusted white fish with ginger and mashed potatoes. Everyone was extremely happy with their meal. Even the gals that split a hamburger! Our server was less then attentive. We wanted to order wine with our meal after cocktails and she never came back to the table until we were done with our food. We noticed her visiting others but couldn't flag her down. The main dishes were good, but the sides were just ok, especially for the price. We were also disappointed that we ended up seated in the bar area. We made a reservation and have always been seated in the main dining area when we reserved ahead - didn't want the TVs, wanted a nice, relaxing dinner. Dinner last night with friends. Party of 5, low maintenance group. The restaurant was not busy when we came in-- about 2/3 full -- far from being 'slammed.' 6:30 pm. We're not big drinkers ordered an app for the table, roasted beets, and those beets ended up being the high point of the evening. How do server(s) forget a salad that comes with dinner when you have everyone else served correctly. Why does it take 45 minutes from ordering the food to delivery? Why when the missing salad was asked for it was ignored? Really sucky. Don't order the ribs. They are smoked but then some genius gets to throw the already cooked meat on a grill to burn them and make them inedible. Really dumb. The short rib burger that was ordered medium came out waaaay over cooked. Short rib meat in burgers should make it delectable. The cooks in this kitchen don't realize that an animal died just so they can do a crappy job of preparation. Just pathetic. Timothy's was kinda bad and poorly served and slightly filthy at their old location. The new location is bright and lovely and a great setting. Went on Wednesday for the ribs, served with slaw and "pomme frites", the ribs were good, charred just like I requested. I wouldn't call frozen fries "pomme frites" however. They were tasteless and needed a touch of salt, which was missing from the table. We asked for more sauce and was given a very small cup which held about a tablespoon each. I didn't care for the Asian slaw, but my husband enjoyed mine. I started with a salad, which consisted of mixed greens, a couple of pieces of carrot and a cherry tomato, the Gorgonzola bacon vinaigrette w as creamy and didn't taste like bacon or Gorgonzola. Our server was pleasant, came back to table once during meal, and finally refilled water glasses at end of the meal. read more

We have been to Timothy's many times (even when it was at the Gordon Beach Inn) and it has always been one of our favorites but we did not have a very good experience on July 20, 2022. The waitress was not very friendly and seemed to have an attitude. We waited almost 20 minutes for our drinks and at least another 20 minutes for our salads. The main course was served over an hour after we ordered it. The excuse we were given is there was a large party that had backed up the kitchen. Is that really our problem? I ordered the ribeye (which I have ordered in the past) medium rare. It was at least medium if not well done and was very tough. Everyone else has salmon and sea bass and it was very good. We will chalk this one as an anomaly and I am sure we will be back bit hope we don't have another experience like this one. read more

Definitely our favorite place to eat in Harbor Country. We have been there multiple times since their relocation and have brought out of town guests. We have never been disappointed and have heard no complaints. We also tried the patio pizza service and the pizzas were phenomenal! Not an inexpensive place but we'll worth the money. read more

We love the variety on their menu, several fish options, a few local offerings. I ordered the bouillabaisse, one of the best I've had. Full of delicious shrimp, scallops, crab and mussels. The broth was slightly sweet and was topped with fresh, crunchy vegetables. Presentation was delightful. Cocktails were average, nothing exceptional from the offerings at the bar. We chose to sit in the bar as the atmosphere in there is quieter than the main dining room which can sound like a busy cafeteria. A friend gave us gift cards so we splurged! Appetizers so delicious we finished them. The crab cakes look like hush puppies, but have THE most amazing flavor, so delicate! The rib eye steak was perfect, along with accompaniments. The Thai chicken, similar to a teriyaki breading, with excellent veggies and sauce. We had to get take home boxes, so really stretched out these entrees at home - plenty of food, for sure! The key lime cheesecake was so high quality amazing, it made us want to sample all their desserts someday. Our waiter was so attentive, and good humored. You can tell he loves his work. Even if you don't have to use the rest room you should take a look - Jake the dog photos line the wall on the way, and the ladies room decor, makes you smile. Very clean. Let start off by saying my wife and I both love this restaurant. I have never had a bad meal there until now. I ordered their ribs curbside due to Covid and had never tried them before. Although the flavor was "good" I literally had to naw the meat off the bone. It was even difficult to cut the ribs apart with a knife. Meat should fall off the bone on good ribs and these we very dry and very "chewy" and not tender at all like the place up the road that is known for their MONDAY rib night special that can be eaten only with a fork because they are so tender and tasty. We felt rushed throughout dinner, and had to box up our own leftovers. I was handed a plastic container (and no bag) to pack them up. I don't know about you, but when I pay $35 for an entree, I feel like they should pack it up for me. Food: Fine, but not wonderful...as the signs and prices would indicate. Almost all of the appetizers are fried, and things come out with "one note" of flavor. They squirt siracha in little swirls around each dish, which to me is a clear indication that the food does not have enough flavor on its own. Decor: Ugly and tacky, in my opinion. You're greeted with an empty fishtank in the wall that has green stones at the bottom. Enough said. For the price, would not go back. Lots of better options in the area. read more

Timothy's on the lake was a fantastic spot but I have not been impressed since they moved to the new location. I love seafood and ordered an entree that should have been a flavor explosion but was anything but. I tried it again thinking it may have been on off night and was equally unimpressed. I went back for Easter brunch one year and that was a bust. They may be trying to cater to too many pallets, those that want chicken weeks and cheese curds and those that want a fine dining experience. Don't let me stop you from trying it out for yourself. I had the clam chowder and it had a kick to it, when I asked I was informed that the put in crush jalapeño. It was good put you definitely need water nearby. Diner there on 2/19/22 with my wife. We have been there many times and food always amazingly good, however tonight I ordered the fish and chips. The hand made Chip were just so so and the Cole slaw was just Ok. The fish however was comp$etely tasteless. My wifedinner was the smoked chicken jambalaya which was very good.
