I started coming to Tipsy Nail about 5 months ago after my usual nail lady moved out of state. I wanted to wait in writing this review to ensure that there was consistency of the service...well there is! This place is amazing! Every technician is impeccable. The attention to detail with nail art is impressive. My last visit I came in with 2 broken nails (like all the way to the skin!) and they fixed them up and look exactly like my natural nail!! Important to note: if you want nail art (including French) you have to book it separately on their booking system...not horrible just a little different than most places. It just makes sure they have enough time to make your nails look PERFECT!
When I moved to Santa Clarita 6 months ago I was so desperate to find a nail place that I liked and that met my needs. Then I found Miranda at Tipsy Nails! Everyone is always so welcoming and kind! Miranda always figures out and does exactly what I want for my nails and makes sure that I am happy throughout the process. Makes recommendations of new techniques, shapes, sizes and colors! And she is super good at making you feel comfortable. Tipsy Nails is also very accessible, they have parking and it's so close to the old town newhall main street.
Even though it's appointment only there has never been a time where I can't get an appointment. I've been going here for over a year and have not been disappointed. Marinda is always open to the designs I show her and my gel manicure is always looking amazing! I always receive great customer service when I go and would 100% recommend.
Doing what I should've done 2 months ago. I failed to make it to my appointment due to unforeseen events and missed my appointment. It was a no show. I understand this takes away from other clients booking reservations and that was an honest mistake on my part. However, this was my ONE AND ONLY TIME DOING SO. So what did they decide to do? Charge me for the entire set ($85 dollars). I would understand a $10 no show fee but $85 dollars!? That's ridiculous! They didn't call me once to ask if I was coming in or even notify me of the charges or authorize the payment on my cardI Anyway, I called and apologized for missing my appointment, explained the situation and requested a refund since this was my first and only time doing a no show. They told me to send an email or DM their Instagram to request a refund when they could've just done it right there. They were so quick to charge my card but took their sweet time to issue a refund? Not to my surprise, they ignored my request. THEN I called my bank to dispute the charge. Funny enough, my bank informed me that they're not even ALLOWED to charge my card without notifying me first to authorize the charges, whether or not I agreed to the terms of their policy online. (Aka illegal) Yesterday, I requested an appointment because I was over it and this is the message I received. I thought of a million responses but figured this would be the best thing to do :) DO NOT GO HERE! This place is overpriced and the owners/workers are shady (aka Miranda and Maritza). The fact that you even have to put your card on file is a MAJOR red flag. While we're at it, $3 PER NAIL FOR A DESIGN??? Bye! UPDATE: the owner clearly can't read either and is trying to manipulate the situation. The timeline of the situation that I WROTE is correct. Just look at his response. Scammers!
Yesterday was my first time at Tipsy Nails. I had been going to another local business and wasn't happy with the quality of service and was looking to try somewhere new. I read a few reviews to see how to schedule an appointment online and set it up for 10 am the next day. My nail tech was running late, but luckily Maritza was available and she got started on me right away. When Miranda arrived, she took over. The girls were very friendly and professional during my appointment and Miranda did a great job on my nails, especially the design. I showed her an inspo picture from Pinterest and she was able to do exactly what I wanted. She checked in with me multiple times to confirm that I liked the color, design, filing, etc. Because it was my first time, I didn't know that when you booked nail art online, you needed to add 2 nail art slots if the design was complicated or on every nail. Luckily, Miranda was able to honor my request this time. And now I know how to book properly next time. She even made time to add a little something extra on one of my nails that we didn't plan on. Thank you again, Miranda!
I've been a loyal customer for several years now as you can see from my previous review and multiple photos here. I moved an hour away, but I made the time, effort and money to drive here every 3 weeks to show my loyalty. The more I came here throughout the years, the more uncomfortable I got. There were times when I would feel blamed for the nail artist's mistakes and times where they would get impatient with me. This past Saturday was the last straw and I unfortunately will not be doing business here anymore. I had booked a gel x full set, nail art and a gel pedicure. I still had my previous gel x set, but the online booking site won't let you book more than 3 sessions. When I got to the shop I gave the nail artist 3 pictures and asked her to chose which one will be the easiest and best for her to do. She stated that I can chose whichever one I wanted so I picked a style. She started off with removing my old set and starting the new one. She started getting irritated with me because she could not do the nail art fast enough and starts telling me that I should have added gel x removal to the booking in which I stated I already had 3 and couldn't add that in. She says "oh" and then proceeded to tell me how I should have done my pedicure in a separate booking. I had to help my mom move so I didn't have time to do my pedicure a different time than my nails. She tells me she only has 15 mins left to do my nails and starts rushing on my nails, making them messy and uneven. First of all, I gave her easier nail art to do before we started. If she didn't have time or if she couldn't do a certain nail art in a time frame she should have chose the easier one. It's not my fault and she should not blame me for being behind in time. Second, my pedicure was with a different nail artist. The one doing my nails apologized to the other one, I'm pretty sure they said something about me in Spanish under her breath and giggled to one another. I felt uncomfortable, anxious and awkward. By the time I started my pedicure session, I was late to help my mom and had to leave early. The artist doing my pedicure put lotion on my feet and legs to massage them before painting them. I told her that I'm sorry, but I have to leave early because i'm running late to help my mom. I told her i'd pay for whatever charge they want to give me, but I got to dip. My feet were slippery from the oil or lotion and I almost slipped and fell on my face. I had to make sure to hold on to the pedicure chair while coming down so I don't. She did not help me down or help me put my sandals on. They charged me for a regular pedicure even though I have not had anything done to my feet except a massage. My total for everything was $140. No way should it cost that much for the quality and service I got. Don't even get me started on my session before that. So the story behind my boo! nails for Halloween is kind of ridiculous. I showed the nail artist a picture of pink and black nails that had a drawing of a mickey mouse ghost. She tried for like 30 mins to draw it, but it looked so funny, she asked the other nail artist to draw it and it also looked ridiculous. I ended up telling them hey it's okay just throw some ghost stickers on my nails and lets call it a day because they took almost 2 hours trying to do my Halloween nails. I was going to keep quiet and not say anything because i've been coming here for so long, but unfortunately I had enough.

ZERO STARS. IF YOU ARE AN AFRICAN AMERICAN DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS. I do not use the race card but I am very aware of certain people of color who are prejudice against black people. My husband and one year old son just moved near circle j ranch area and have been trying out different businesses. We are upper middle class family, me working in the bio medical engineering industry and my husband in tv and film. I would have been a first time customer however two women that worked or owned the establishment (8-Sep-23) cancelled my appointment in the system because "I did not add time for designs". I went in the app to change it but it would not let me. Therefore I decided to head to my appointment and opt out of designs however when I got there the nail tech was not there and her colleague treated me as though I was a transit on Hollywood boulevard. Her tone was sarcastic and basically told me that I need to learn how to use the system correctly and that's what they have a system for. She could see everything in her system. Did not seem apologetic for the mix up basically was the rudest I have ever been treated in my LIFE for no reason. I can't believe I was about to spend my money there. She basically said you have No appointment here and then proceeded to do nails while I was still seated in their waiting area. I was sitting the entire conversation so In case they come back and lie about my demeanor. It is absolutely false, I had every reason to be happy since I just left the massage parlor next door! Super relaxed and momma was ready to get pampered. I sat there for a few seconds shocked - I got up and told her that "I understand being pregnant, I have been there before but it does not give you a reason to treat people this way" (knowing that her being pregnant had nothing to do with why they refused service to me). I left knowing that the first time I went in there an hour earlier the nail tech was acting like she didn't want me there. I smiled anyway not thinking they would create a false story to refuse service from me. Don't take my word for it sistas. Look at all of their images - white and Mexican or Latin decent. Every single one of them not knowing they come from one mother - the African. I hope these people get the help they need. I went to a nail salon closer to my area which has class and friendly faces. I don't recommend this place. I recently moved into the area and wanted to find a nail shop closer to my new home as back up to my current nail shop. I started off with Gel Pedicures because I wanted to work my way up to the full service. Immediately, I could tell that their experience level wasn't on the level of experience techs who bling out nails do hand painting etc but hey don't judge a book by its cover RIGHT! As I continued on with service I was pleasantly surprised that the Gel Pedi was good but when I went to pay I was told that I couldn't pay with my credit/debt card then was told well imma first time customer so just this time. That's seemed odd to me being a licensed IRS Enrolled Agent for the people and some red flags went up especially when you book through IG and credit cards are a method of payment..... But ok!! As I continued to book appointments for a Gel Pedi then Apres Gel X Nails I noticed that their experience level wasn't there at all. My first set of Apres lifted and I thought it was because I played too ruff with my new puppy so I ignored it but the second time they did the Apres nails were applied crooked and lifted again. It wasn't even a week between the new Apres set and lifting and this time no new puppy involved. I even went to get them fixed and on the way hime my thumb nail lifted. The final straw was me missing my Saturday GePedi appointment. I told Diana I would pay $20 for the missed appointment however I had an emergency that prevented me from coming. When speaking to the Manager she told me the missed appointment would cost me $35 which is the same cost of the Gel Pedi. I looked at her and told her I feel like she was trying to come up on me but here is the money and she said no only when you book again and I told her no take the money you need it and I would never book an appointment again. The Manager lacks people skills, she doesn't have the ability to do designs, hand painting or french tip yet shes really good with her attitude which is probably a reflection of owner. Beware! My first time in this nail salon was amazing. The staff were really nice and welcoming. I was so happy I found a nail salon in my area. The 2nd time I wanted to change my service which the manager(Maritza) told me I couldn't because the system doesn't let her make any changes and if I still want to make the change it would be the same price. Wth???. So I went ahead and kept the Gel X. The following day , two of my nails FELL OFF just by putting gloves (since I'm in the medical field). I called her right away and told Maritza what happend. Her answer was.. you probably hit them with something...REALLY??? Thats the answer you tell your clients??? First of ALL! My right thumb nail fell off and then the left index nail also fell off the same day. So how can I possibly hit both of my hands at the same time. Instead of fixing the problem she told me I need to make another appointment for another day because they are all booked just to fix two nails which was NOT my fault they came off. As for the first time when I got GEL X, it lasted a month so how is it that it didn't even last ONE day! And now I have to wait THREE days without two of my nails!!! As, I waited to go back..ALL of my nails started lifting less than a week! She told me that they can only fix two nails and I would have to come back and fix the other ones another day! Instead of fixing my nails she offered me a refund. Now I have to find somewhere else to get them done. Which I'm fine with because what makes me think it won't happen again. Omg, I've never experienced this at a nail salon. AM I THE ONLY ONE THAT HAD THIS EXPERIENCED?? How embarrassing, very disappointing and frustrating. I don't understand how they make other client's nails look beautiful in the pictures?? making themselves feel so proud of their service when they don't even know how to do Gel X without falling off . It would've been nice if she would've been able to solve the issue without making it so complicated and such a hassle. NEVER AGAIN I WILL GO BACK! IT WAS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY! I'm sorry but I was not aggressive towards the manager. As, you being an attorney, should now what verbally being aggressive is. I calmly sat down waiting for my refund and I politely asked her if she can fix it previously. So im sure the cameras and you saw that. I see where the professionalism comes from. Lying about me being aggressive just because I left a bad review. Thanks for the good luck but there's so many other places better than this. Im sure I don't need the luck! read more

Yelp made me give a star or else I wouldn't because customer service sucks!! I'm not the type to write bad reviews but this time I feel like I should, I got my nails done on 12/29 and it was $85 when I got home within 2-3hours my polish started to peel on multiple nails. Assuming we had to rush and my polish didn't dry , also because she had another client. So today 12/30 I waited, they open at 10am, Rachel and Miranda didn't show up until 10:33 I went in and told Miranda can I get a polish change I'm not comfortable with this polish, she giggled and said she can fix the nails that were messed up but she can't change everything because she's completely booked for the day, but went to the booking site and she had an 3:30 appointment available, so she wants me to come back and pay another $25 that's not okay. Honestly at this point I I want my money back..This experience really put a bad taste in my mouth. Update 1/8 my nail came off and as you can see it's green, because Miranda left a gap between my natural nail and the tip that caused water to get in it further damaged my nail. I also ended up taking the polish off myself and redoing it. My nails didn't even last me 2 weeks, I paid $85 dollars! Now i remember why I don't come to this shop. I honestly want my money back. I'm so upset at this whole experience. I will NEVER come back here again and I will let everyone I know too, not to come here. I've been going to Tipsy Nails for about 2 months now and I have found my new nail place. I had tried a few places up here and either wasn't satisfied with the selection of nail colors, or just received poor service, so finding Tipsy Nails was such a relief! I love their colors and the way they do business. It's honestly not like any other salon I've ever been too, they take their time and what they do seriously, so as a client you have to book everything you're looking for. Today was my 3rd visit with Miranda (though I've had all 3 nail techs and I like them all!) and I'm obsessed with my nails! These are Gel X, something I've only found here in SCV and the design is incredible. Definitely recommend, but make sure your book an appointment and book for all the services you are looking for!! read more

I tried out this place for the first time before I went back to college. I only ever get gel nails and it's always so hard to make them last long enough. I was a walk in and they were so nice to me and let me get my nails done without an appointment. The girl that did my nails suggested that for my second visit I try hard gel rather than normal gel because my nail length would be longer. I decided just to do it even with my nails shorter. This was probably the best decision I made. It has now been THREE full weeks of having these nails on and they are going strong. Yes there is slight peeling on corners cause that's inevitable and I did chip a few on my other hand doing laboratory work. Overall I cannot wait to go back home and re-do them. My nails have never lasted so long. read more

I came to this place couple of times, not really satisfied with the deluxe pedicure ( done by Miranda ) she can't even clean my toe nails well. When you feel the sides of it you can still feel the dry skin that should be removed. I had also done my overlay acrylic nails ombre with Maritza but this time I believe she didn't really do it well because a day after one of the acrylic fell off! Yes it fell off! Also I noticed that my nails were not cleaned well before putting on the overlay acrylic. Fast forward 2 days after the service two acrylic nails came off and within a week they were all gone. Take note I didn't even do anything, some of the nails came off without even me noticing it was already off. For both service I paid total $100! Yup! Maritza offered me that if I ever want to have another service she will give me 50% off but really I don't want to waste my money. read more

This picture below represents three weeks plus one day! I know this salon loves to do up-and-coming fashion forward nails (coffins etc) but I went for a shellac manicure and I was extremely pleased! This cute little place is clean and the staff are friendly! Miss Miranda spent a lot of time, energy ,and effort on my nails and the results were outstanding! Not a chip even after a lot of my time spent in water and chemicals! I have had many shellac manicures that haven't lasted more than five days so this one in particular needs to be applauded. I truly appreciate the time and effort that Miranda took to give me such a great long lasting manicure! read more

I was on my way to get a massage and saw that this place had just opened next door. So I walked in to see the prices and for pedicure, manicure, and gel nails it was only $54! They took me in as a walk in, but they recommend that we make an appointment. Very impressed by the work done here! I'll get my massage and my nails done all on the same day! read more

I have struggled to find a nail salon in SCV that can do the style of nails I like. I was referred to Maritza and I am so happy with the results! First off, the location is great with plenty of parking. The staff is so friendly. Maritza took her time and explained her process each step of the way. She had me check her work before moving on to the next step to ensure I was happy. You can tell she genuinely cares. I am so glad I have found this nail salon and look forward to more fancy nails! read more

Checked out this new, small salon in town. My gel manicure came out nicely, although the manicure part of it was very no frills. No massage or lotion or anything, maybe they charge extra for that but they didn't offer anything. The drying light thing was full of the nail dust stuff. My hands had the stuff all over them, and even some fuzzies and things during the manicure. My pedicure was so-so, a couple of my nails were uneven and slanted, and when I tried to point it out she didn't seem to notice anything. It wasn't bad, but wasn't AMAZING either. Props for two nice girls who work there and the cute decor and chairs. One weird thing, they said we could only pay card the first time even though they have the stickers for the credit cards on their window and nowhere does it say cash only. read more

Tipsy nails is a great place to be, nirvana did an amazing job on my feet and made it so relaxing and comfortable even the water was the right temperature. Def recommend and I'll for sure be going back, staff was very nice and courteous! Best service hands down. read more

Called in on a Friday morning and was able to get an appointment last minute so props for that.. However, my nails (short acrylics full set and gel pedicure) not worth $105 plus a $10 tip I gave. Upon first glance when Miranda first got done with my nails, they looked nice which is why I tipped even though the price was already relatively high. When I got home, however, I looked at the sides of the nails because they felt bumpy and hair strands kept getting caught in between the nail fold and it was evident that she did not file it down properly to the shape of my nail and it overlapped beyond my nail fold. I had also told her I wanted a natural nude color (did not say gel) and she then hands me the keychain full of the plastic trays with finger nails that sample the nail polish colors they have and told me to pick from those so I did and she tells me until after she applies it onto the nails that it'll be a $5 extra charge because the color was gel.... and honey... as if that weren't bad enough... the bottle barely even had any polish. She had to turn the bottle upside down to get it to come out and my nails are clearly missing nail polish on the edges... Overall, not a good experience with this place... Oh and Rachel did my pedicure and was very serious the entire time and seemed agitated as she was bossy when she would tell me to put my feet in and out of the water.. Save your money and go somewhere else! read more

I found this salon completely out of luck. I love getting my nails done, but I have grown to dislike the long waits (even with appointments) and generic treatment that's essentially the same everywhere you go. Everything is by appointment only so you will actually be seen at your time. Not pushed back due to walk ins. Miranda has gotten to know me, my likes and needs (for work) and has done exceptional work everytime. I get so many compliments on my nails, all the time. While they are slightly more expensive than other salons, the quality of work reflects that. Would highly recommend to anyone. read more

I had been running a few minutes behind so I told her I completely understood if we wouldn't have time to do some of the nail art but she told me that because of the few minutes she wasn't going to do any nail art on me anymore and made rude comments while doing the nails. I ended up paying $80 for something that looks like it's worth 60 at most. Would not recommend to go here. This was my second time coming here because I wanted to give it another shot but the first time I came was the same thing over priced and bad customer service. read more
