I wanted to like this place because my nails came out amazing when I first got them done but the day of one of my acrylic nails popped off.... then fast forward a week later my nails were already lifting and the acrylic was so thin that they all popped off within a week. Sadly won't be going back :( read more

This place is my new go to nail spot! It's small and quaint and quiet and Maritza and Sophie are great. My fingers and toes now look amazing. I went to this salon on my birthday morning to get birthday nails. I read a lot of positive reviews and thought I was in for a treat. This was definitely not the case at all sadly. The woman that did my nails was extremely rude and negative my whole experience. My grandma called me from the hospital to wish me a happy birthday and the woman literally put her hands behind her head and said she would wait until i was done on the phone to continue. It only takes one hand to hold the phone and she didn't want to continue on my other hand. I ran out of time to sit and stay for my pedicure and had to cancel. I had booked two appointments for my friend and I to get our manicures and pedicures done a few days before prom. I had called three weeks before the day I had wanted and I called them three times to make sure my appointment was still available. The day we had gone there was only one lady working, she said our appointments were not booked and we never called. I had shown her my call log as proof we had made appointments. We had waited a good half hour for another woman to show up to do our nails, but she never did. My friend went first with the only lady that was available to do our nails and she took two hours and a half for acrylics. When the other woman finally showed up (an hour later) It only took her an hour so It wasn't as bad. My friend couldn't get her pedicure done because our appointments "weren't booked" and they had no time for us. The nails were very thick, bulky and uneven. I had to tell her when they were either crooked and uneven, when i kept pointing out the very obvious sizes between my nails the lady became noticeably annoyed. Upon entering the hidden gem, I was greeted by a friendly young face. She sat me down, showed me available gel color options and she got right to work. Being the socially awkward person I am, I typically struggle in engaging in conversation, but this woman was very friendly and she got me to speak through the entire appointment! The quality of everything was the best I've ever experienced. She took her time, but did the manicure in a timely manner. She was very clean and never skipped a step. I decided to go with a white marble effect with gold foil flakes on the ring finger. It turned out perfect, and I'm yet to experience chipping (which I would've already with any other salon). Although their prices are a little higher than the average nail salon, IT'S WORTH IT!! Only two women run the shop, with an additonal woman on the weekends. Make an appointment and you won't be disappointed. I will definitely return and recommend to anyone in the SCV area & I can't wait to try a pedi. read more

Today after seeking a new nail option I called Tipsy Nails after reading reviews here on Yelp. I was able to make an appt. today. I arrived and noticed a very clean and tasteful small shop. Maritza is the manager and she was my manicurist who was welcoming and very pleasant. My experience was the best ever in the SCV area in 24 years. Seriously! She was gentle, thorough and had a strong attention to details. I got a gel mani and gel pedi. Prices are very reasonable. They have a fairly wide variety of nail colors and brands. I was so impressed and made a follow-up appt. in a couple of weeks. This is a new shop and worthy of a strong and reliable clientele. Maritza told me she was focused on quality versus quantity and this works for me. Where to begin! I don't typically get my nails done because I don't usually like the vibe from the technicians performing the service. But today, I was with a friend and decided to check out Tipsy Nail Salon. I'm so glad that I did. Martiza and Sophia were very warm and welcoming from the moment we entered the salon. They made sure we were comfortable and offered water while I took my time choosing my colors. I opted for a set of gel nails and they explained the whole process to me and what to expect on the return visit to remove the gel in a way that will best care for the health of my nails. They were very helpful and patient in finding the colors that would best recreate a nail design that was in my head. (Lol)! You can tell they are both passionate about what they do. Martiza takes her passion for nail art very seriously by keeping up with the latest trends and investing in herself by constantly studying new techniques to keep up with the ever changing world of nail art.
