Friendly staff and the restaurant has plenty of sitting and plays music at a volume that you are able to carry on a conversation without having to raise your voice. The food is pretty good, my favorite was the taco dish, and their flour tortillas are so fresh. read more

My husband stumbled upon this place just looking for a restaurant. We came in on a Sunday around 3 and the place was not busy. We really enjoyed the ambiance felt cozy and authentic. Our server was more than attentive and was kind. Starting with chips and salsa they were DELICIOUS chips were warm and crunchy and salsa had the right heat. We ordered margarita and sangria. The margarita was great and strong. The sangria had great flavor! We ordered one combo plate of enchilada and crispy taco and one order of enchiladas suiza the kiddos had bean cheese burritos. The food was DELICIOUS. The flavors were delicious and close to homemade. Everything was bursting with flavor even down to the rice and beans. We finished off strong with the churros and those also didn't disappoint they were tasty and fresh! The prices were more than reasonable and we definitely can't wait to come back! read more

We loved everything about this restaurant except the food. The atmosphere was great the staff was friendly unfortunately the food was alright and way over priced. I guess they don't have a regular food menu on Sundays just a buffet. They didn't tell us the price ahead of time and we should have asked but we never anticipated the cost and were shocked when the bill came. It was $42 per person not including tax or tip $137 for 3 people was a little insane for food that was alright at its best. read more

I haven't properly eaten here, but I did visit recently during Tamale Fest to purchase tamales in the restaurant and got them to-go. I was waiting in line to purchase tamales during Tamale Fest at their booth outside and a passerby told us at the end of the long line we could purchase the same tamales in the restaurant and get beans and rice. I went inside and sure enough, they had a to-go counter and line as well as their sit down restaurant. I posted their prices for their tamales (one was $5, half dozen was $ 25 and a dozen was $45) on my socials and one person responded, "Girl that's highway robbery!" Do with that info what you will, but I only buy one tamale for myself during the holidays and I can say the chicken and pork tamales were good. While waiting in line, you end up by the bar and the bartender was really good in selling drinks. I ordered a Palmoa right before I got to the register and it was good! The line inside moved fast and I'd recommend going inside for tamales during Tamale Fest. Definitely will return to try their regular menu outside of Tamale Fest! The employees were super nice and efficient and I could tell it's a tight knit staff or crew that make the experience better. read more

Tlaquepaque was open at the posted times and we were promptly greeted and seated minutes within stepping into the restaurant. Chips and salsa were brought along with the menus, just wish that we had a small plate or something to catch the crumbs and salsa (instead of the table). The plates were hot (which I was forewarned about), but the temperature of my food (Enchilada Trio) did not match the temperature of the food. I felt the food (2 separate plates) were a little above lukewarm at best, which was disappointing. When I order hot food, I at least expect "hot" food, maybe even some steam. Their menu was simple, but had many great dishes. We agreed we would come back but I hope that the temperature of the food is better next time. Service was good, and the restaurant was very clean. We loved the decor on the inside of the spacious restaurant. read more

There are few places where I can say I have been treated like family, this is one. The family that owns this has been there since 1965. The food is what the family made for holidays. I am a bit of a Mexican food snob (sorry), but when the chips, salsa, bean & rice are great your in for a treat. A true hidden gem!!! Go on Taco Tuesday, you'll be shocked as to how not busy it is. And get the 4 taco plate for $8. The pastor is incredible, so is the carne or pollo asada, and the carnitas. You really can't go wrong. And you certainly can't beat the price. read more

Randomly discovered this gem of a restaurant one Saturday and I'm so happy we did. Ordered the Trio Fajitas, Camarones a la Diabla, and Carnitas Quesadilla. Everything was absolutely delicious. The rice was flavorful and the refried beans were creamy and rich. Meat was very well cooked and nicely seasoned. Just everything was excellent. Service was also very good. Attentive, courteous, and prompt. I believe one of the owners came by our table to check on us and she was very sweet and kind. Gotta support these local businesses like this one, not just because they're a part of the community, but because they're legitmately good. We're going back tomorrow for lunch before we go watch Lilo and Stitch. haha. Can't wait! (I'm more excited about the food than the movie. haha!) read more

My family and a few friends visited for Sunday brunch. We received a warm welcome and were seated very quickly. Everyone was very nice and attentive. In that regard we were very happy. Unfortunately, when it came to the food we were disappointed. I understand that with a buffet style serving options can be limited. But you could at least expect the few options available are tasty and kept at the proper temperature. The food were were served was either too salty or lacked flavor all together. The pancakes were cold and rubbery. The overall cost of the brunch was not worth the experience. If I am going to $50 per person for brunch, I would at least hope the table has matching plates and actual cups, not paper cups. Yes, paper cups for self serve agua fresca. Yes, the live music is nice. And if that is all you are looking for by all means, go the ambiance is very nice. read more

Although the staff was friendly and we were seated immediately. I can't say the quality of the food was the same. Our experience was on a Sunday early afternoon, therefore brunch was the only option for a meal. Most food items lacked flavor, such as the refried beans (they also were extra runny- more like a soup), the chile verde - meat was super chewy - not tender. The menudo lacked flavor, the meat on the sopes was rough and hard to chew. Even the cucumber lemonade lacked flavor. My family and I know authentic Mexican food and this place falls short of authentic. $42 per person is way overpriced for this restaurant, not worth the money. Everything was delicious! Happy hearts, and filled tummies. My husband had been craving a good carne asada and was very happy to find it at Tlaquepaque. The kids loved the Posole and Street Tacos. I enjoyed the birria. And that Cadillac margarita was amazing as were the Aguas frescas. We tried Horchata and Jamaica. We finished with a delicious home made flan and churros for desert.
