New Orleans Beignets

Came here for brunch I got the roasted veggie omelette without cheese, cheesy grits, and wheat toast. It was tasty and flavorful and I would get it again. My dad got avocado toast which he said was "excellent". The beignets were very good. They were the perfect mix of crispy and fluffy in each bite.

Toast! All Day was an interesting restaurant, but I didn't have the greatest dining experience here. There must have been a miscommunication between staff members, because after we were seated, nobody came to serve our table, and we had to ask for a server. We weren't the only people that this happened to, as another group of patrons sat next to us, and then got up and left after not being served for an extended period of time. After flagging down a server, the experience was fine, but nothing spectacular. Out waitress wasn't very attentive, which was a little frustrating because we were on a timeline. This was kind of disappointing, because I really did like the ambiance of the restaurant, and it would have been nice if the experience was representative of that. They had a really cool open-air brick oven for pizzas, and I loved the aesthetic of the bar as well. Luckily, they had a few IPAs in a can, and my friend said that their drink was pretty good as well. All-in-all, Toast! All Day was a cool restaurant, but the poor communication between staff members kind of put a damper on the experience. I would be willing to come back and give it another shot in the future, however.

As I was walking by I noticed their menu gentlemen came out and changed the menu for the lunch/dinner menu, so we walked in and had lunch there. They made a pizza without cheese...so it was amazing. The service was great the ambience, gorgeous the chef came out and spoke with us. Even the owner came out to talk to us.

Cute breakfast spot close your hotel. Being from the north I was searching for good biscuits. I ordered the eggs meeting street which was a fried green tomato, crab cake, poached egg all stacked and covered with hollandaise sauce. Served with hashbrowns and a biscuit. The tower of eggs and crab cake was good but heavy. You could order single or double and I don't know how someone could eat double it was very rich and heavy. The hashbrowns were crispy and seasoned well but the biscuit was very hard on the outside. The inside was soft though and good with jam. My husband got biscuits and gravy and said the same thing about the biscuits. Overall good and lots more on menu we didn't try.

Im not sure the hype of this place is worth the wait, but overall this place is a decent brunch spot. Joined the online wait list prior, which I highly recommend, and still waited about 45 minutes. Service was friendly but very hectic. I got the crab Benedict which overall wasn't bad. The crab was fresh and the biscuit was very good, eggs were over cooked and sauce was average. They have nice brunch drink options aswell as a full bar. Inside is nice and they have a rather large bar with plenty of seating.

Great place for breakfast and brunch. Right on King Street. We did not get a table on a Friday morning because the wait was around 1 hr. We sat at the bar and were helped by Jackson. The food was great and the cappuccino perfectly made. They serve mimosas all day long!!

Came here for some birthday brunch. Had the beignets to start which were just okay. I had the vegetarian omelette and it was good. The home fries were really yummy. Our server was great and funny. The bathroom was disgusting though. Definitely mold in there and liquid coming from the ceiling....

Hawaii and hibiscus mimosas.

Stopped in for a mimosa and decided to try the beignets as well. Mimosas were delicious, we tried the Hawaii and Hibiscus. I'd recommend either! Our server, Taylor was awesome! We got some recommendations of these to see and do on our visit. We sat on the patio that was well shaded and had a great fan. Inside the restaurant looked Ana, as well!

This place came recommended and we think the recommendation was great! My wife ordered brioche French toast and she loved it. I ordered the double meeting and it was so good. Belle was our server and she was awesome, make sure you get her as your server! The restaurant is very nice. Casual with music playing in the background. Clean and well kept. I liked this place very much. Try them and tell me what you think!

Florentine Eggs Benedict

We had breakfast here and overall really enjoyed it! The food was tasty, the portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable--especially for Charleston. The coffee was also great, which is always a plus. The only downside was my eggs Benedict--while the flavor was good, the eggs were cooked solid all the way through instead of being runny like a proper poached egg. It wasn't a dealbreaker, but it did take away from the dish a bit. Still, everything else we tried was solid, the service was friendly, and I'd come back again for another breakfast. Definitely a good spot for a casual, satisfying start to the day in Charleston.

V E R Y Tasty Brunch First visit to the Trip Advisor Award Winner for Best Breakfast in Charleston and Toast deserves it. We were walk-ups and a had a very short wait n a bright Sunday fall morning on King Street. We were seated in the main dining room and were quickly tended to by our waiter. Our two spicey Bloody Mary's were very tasty and decent sized pint glasses. We ordered two egg entrees and the Bacon & Ham omelet was terrific - hot and flavorful. The highlight of our Sunday brunch was Toast's huge homemade fresh biscuits - Wow - wonderful served warm. Toast is a success and has a bright interior decor. We saw couples and many families with kids - so a great choice for all. Cheers.

The place is popular, so highly recommend reservations. When asking locals about it, it's not somewhere they go, but acknowledge it is a solid choice and staple. The appetizers were decent. The deviled eggs were good and the scallops were as well. Nothing exceptional, but solid choices. For entrees we had a wide variety in our party. I had the fried catfish with red rice and cabbage. The dish was well portioned and fried but the red rice was cold and hard. The cabbage was good. A For dessert had I have pecan pie and it was just ok. All in all, it is a place you can tell people to for special occasions. It's a bit crowded and busy, so not very intimate. But still well maintained.

This time around I was dining with friends, which meant we got to order a whole bunch of dishes - a foodie's dream. We started with the Hunter Cattle Beef Tartare, topped with shoestring potatoes, smoked cheddar, and egg yolk jam. It was rich, flavorful, and while the presentation looked a bit like dog food, it was otherwise the perfect way to kick off the meal. For the table, we also shared the Roasted Carrots, served with chamomile honey, labneh, puffed rice, candied peanuts, and an olive crumble. I know, carrots aren't always a "must-order," but trust me - they were fantastic. We also couldn't pass up the Hearth-Baked Skillet Cornbread with Broadbent bacon crumble mixed throughout. Southern comfort food!!! For my entree, I ordered the Blueberry & Corn Salad, which was anything but an ordinary salad. Between the BBQ pecans, ricotta salata, bacon fat honey mustard, and fresh seasonal ingredients, every bite was packed with flavor. One friend ordered the Yellowfin Tuna Crudo with compressed cantaloupe, marigold, and leche de tigre. It was bright, refreshing, and beautifully plated. Our other friend opted for the South Carolina Golden Tilefish, served with Kindlewood Farms summer squash and serrano, and it, too, was a hit. For drinks, one friend enjoyed a glass of wine while I ordered the Dragoon Punch. I'll admit, I was a little disappointed to learn my beloved Primrose Path was no longer on the menu. I even asked if they could make one, but unfortunately they were missing one of the ingredients. No worries, the Dragoon Punch was delicious and a worthy replacement. Our server, Tal H., was outstanding. He was knowledgeable, informative, and guided us through the ever-changing menu with ease. Even though the restaurant was busy, we never felt rushed. Husk continues to be worth the reservation. I'd happily dine here again... and again... and ag

My husband and I went to the restaurant side which is a large, redesigned Victorian style house. We went in as in Walk -Ins but reservations are recommended. The service was fast and the food was phenomenal. The beef tartare was fresh, and easily shareable. Cocktails were brought out fast and both tasted delicious. The scallops and pork chop were some of the best we've had. The only slightly disappointing dish was the corn bread which was on the more dry side, however the collards more than made up for it. The only downside to this restaurant were the flies, I felt like I was battling both large and fruit flies my entire meal. There were so many. We were inside so I'm not sure where they were coming from. Would've been 5 stars had it not been for this.

We had reservations but asked if we could sit at the bar instead, which ended up being a great choice. Our bartender was incredibly sweet and helpful when it came to choosing what to order and made us feel welcome from the start. There was also live music that night, which my husband was especially excited about since they were playing 80s covers. The menu focuses on Lowcountry cuisine, and everything we ordered was delicious. We started with the clams and then shared the pork chop and BBQ tuna. Every dish was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The cocktails were smooth, well made, and paired perfectly with the meal. To make the evening even more special, our bartender brought us two glasses of bubbles to celebrate my birthday, which was such a thoughtful gesture. Great food, great drinks, live music, and genuinely excellent service. It was the perfect way to kick off our Charleston trip. Also I forgot to mention that the shrimp and grits here are supposed to be the best in town!
