Giant and delicious brunch! There will be a wait on weekend mornings, but there's free coffee and the wait is very worth it. I've had a wide variety of the breakfast choices including the breakfast burrito, lemon-blueberry pancakes, omelettes, and French toast, and everything has been delicious and very reasonably priced. If you don't have a giant appetite, I would suggest splitting, or all of the pancakes/French toasts come as a "side order" that is the size of a normal meal. :). This is one of those little gems on the outskirts of town that nails it in every way. The charming, charismatic waitstaff, the rock-n-roll music, the down-home feeling - and excellent, thoughtfully-prepared food. I had steak-n-eggs and the steak was unlike any steak I've had in a breakfast joint. It was a quality steak without all the chewy, sinewy grizzle. My waitress was beautiful inside and out - and down to earth - so refreshing. Every other waiter/waitress stopped by as well to fill up my coffee and check to see if I needed anything. My daughter and I got breakfast here this morning and the food was superb! I got Eggs Blackstone and :Flavor explosion!! The bacon was sweet and spicy, the hollandaise sauce was creamy and decadent, the poached eggs were cooked perfectly, the avocado added a next level element to the dish that had me humming and I could crush those red potatoes all day!!! My daughter got eggs pancakes and bacon and she cleaned. Her. Plate. She hardly ever does that so that's a huuuuge deal! Stopped in after walking the art show nearby. Used the Yelp app to get on the waiting list. Overall it probably saved us 20 mins. Broad menu choices to fit your fancy. We elected to go with the Corned-Beef Hash and the Carnitas .... As we waited, the young ladies next to us received a cinnamon roll and two orders of the Honey Fried Chicken and Biscuits. Both looked delicious and the entree was huge. Our orders arrived and looked delicious as well. The corned-beef hash was tremendous. The Carnitas dish was good as well. It just lacked some zing and pop in the flavors, when compared to other establishments. The red chile sauce looked and tasted more like mole sauce. I ended up adding Louisiana Hot sauce to give it some more flavor. The food was obviously pretty good as we both finished our plates. The coffee was good as well. The restaurant was clean overall. The restrooms were clean and well stocked. The dining areas were fairly loud as well. Overall the service was good, just not great. Our server seemed to buzz in and out quickly and if you did need something it seemed like a bit of a disappointment. I love this place. It's always busy on the weekends, so plan on a wait if you come during rush hour...but keep in the mind that this place is WAY bigger than it looks, so the wait goes by fairly quickly. The downside to the wait time is that there really isn't much of a designated waiting area, so you either have to stand outside and hope it's not snowing or wait in the very cool artsy, crayon painted hallway next to the bathroom. The food is incredible. I have never had anything bad here, but my the breakfast burrito...SO GOOD. And enough to keep you full for nearly the entire day. I've driven past Toast probably a dozen times recently, and finally decided to stop in for breakfast despite being wary of the crowd mingling around in the parking lot waiting to get in. We were given a 20 minute wait, which isn't bad for a Saturday morning, and got seated within 10. (I overheard a hostess tell one group they couldn't be seated until their entire party arrived, so keep that in mind!) You'll find a coffee cart set up by the front door, so you can get caffeinated while you wait. I'm not normally a pancake eater, but was drawn in by their expansive pancake menu. I ordered the fried apple pancakes (being a huge fan of anything apple and passing up the blueberry lemon option - d'oh!) with a side of sausage, and crazy.sexy.cool ordered the savory Santa Fe stuffed french toast. The pancakes are gigantic, and in hindsight I wish I would have ordered the flight so I could have tasted a variety of their offerings. I thought the apple pancakes were a bit too sweet, although that was offset by the tasty sausage. The stuffed french toast featured eggs, chorizo, green chilies, mixed cheese, topped with queso anejo, pico de gallo, avocado sauce, and smoked chili sour cream. The menu is extensive, and they offer lots of selections for lunch - burgers, sandwiches, soups. We were both in agreement that we need to come back and try some of the other options. And that we really need to start going to the gym. read more

Accolades. This restaurant at the oddly-shaped intersection of Santa Fe Blvd and Bowles/Littleton Blvd gets accolades by the score. However, I have no clue why. I've been here about ten times over the last few years. I always go back hoping my experience will match that of my fellow Yelpers. But, it just isn't so. I've had the pancakes. Yes, they're fluffy. They also have no flavor. You MUST put something on top to taste anything but flour and buttermilk. And this is a shame, because there are many ways to kick up the flavor of a pancake. Worse, let's say you want to have some syrup. They charge $2.50 for a small container of real maple syrup. Not organic mind you, just maple syrup. I can buy four ounces of bulk, organic, B-grade maple syrup at Whole Foods or Sunflower for a lot less than that. This is a rip-off, Toast. Pure and simple. I've had the eggs. Eggs are eggs. Toast advertises it serves Eggland's Best. Yeah? So what! I can buy a dozen organic eggs at Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage for $3.25. That's $0.54 for two eggs. Throw them in a saute pan at a cost of, what, another $0.75 for labor and overhead. Build in another $0.50 for profit, and two eggs cost $1.74 to buy, cook, and serve. That's why I say so what. And I hope you're sitting down for this one, dear reader, but today I had a $13 order of chicken-fried steak. It was served on top of ONE pancake. On top of this stack, they served two eggs. All was covered with country (sausage-pepper-cream) gravy. No potatoes. No toast. For $13.00! And, it was bland. I mean, I didn't know you could make bland country gravy. I didn't know you could make bland chicken-fried steak. Heck, just a little bit of salt would have done something. But, no. Now, you would think for $13, the steak would be something special. At least it would be tender. Instead, I kept looking for the whip marks from where the jockey was hitting it before it died halfway through a horse race. I think it was flank steak. So tough, so bland, and without so much as an attempt to tenderize it by machine or mallet. The breading tasted like panko crumbs, but again there was no seasoning. Here's another issue. If you're going to serve eggs on top of the stack, drenching them with gravy, even bad gravy that tastes like pretty much white flour, will mask the flavor of the eggs. There was a bright spot. The coffee was delicious. Here, they have a winner. I've marked the price range with two dollar signs. I don't think you can get out of this place without paying at least $11 per meal, not when you add a drink. The physical space is small and compact and definitely not the place for a meeting of a community group. You are eating on top of one another. The walls are lined with cute, toast-themed art. I rather like that. The place is noisy. The parking lot is itty-bitty and shared. The waitstaff does its best to turn over the clientele quickly. Even so, it's an easy meal to serve. I wouldn't go crazy on the tip. The big thing for this waitstaff is to keep the coffee cups topped off, and this they always do well. I've never had to look for the waitstaff for a refill. So, there you have it. The meals are no better than the Breakfast King, about five miles north on Santa Fe and a lot more expensive. The chicken-fried steak and gravy are inferior to Sam's No. 3. There is something about this section of Littleton, extending over to the new development on Belleview between Federal and Santa Fe. The restaurants are all overpriced, and the food is just blah. Toast holds true to this tradition. It can be summed up in one word: Bland! read more

Finally I had the chance to try Toast. The cute little restaurant wasn't packed so we didn't have to wait for a table. The menu is varied and had many tempting items--it was hard to pick just one. Before my meal even arrived I knew I'd have to come back to try more things. I had the Garden Eggs Benedict. It had mushrooms, asparagus, red peppers, spinach and onions atop an English muffin. It was topped with normal poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. I loved the hollandaise sauce and the yummy veggies. My first egg was perfectly cooked while the second had runny whites as well. I don't really go for that so I just didn't eat that second egg. However, the side of potatoes was really good! They mix in red peppers, green peppers and onions with sliced potatoes. YUM! My companions had the basic breakfast with a link sausage that was really tasty. Another had the corned beef hash that was also done really well. Even though there were plenty of sweet breakfast options, we didn't opt for any of them this time. But as I said, I'll be back to try the Lemon Blueberry Pancakes, The Stuffed French Toast and maybe even the Oreo Pancakes! read more

I lament that I can't be eating at Toast right now. If you're a breakfast lover like me the menu is just sinful. While on vacation in Colorado, our Uber driver, a local, told us we had to hit up Toast before we left. He informed us that they had an excellent coffee there to boot. He wasn't wrong. I was really feeling the need for a solid cup of coffee to make up for all the insulting hotel dreck, and the coffee at Toast scratched that itch nicely! While my friend and I studied the menu it became clear to me that I wanted to place an order for about five different items. We even briefly considered getting breakfast and then a second item per to go! When all was said and done I ordered my old favorite, Eggs Benedict, and we split a side of french toast. Prosciutto, poached eggs, English muffin, and made from scratch Hollandaise sauce. Straightforward and delicious. A lackluster Hollandaise will ruin an Eggs Benny but Toast came in the game with a great one. I like my prosciutto slightly less salty but the folks I know would love it as is. The potatoes were absolutely served up to my taste. Crispy, not soggy. Now, let me tell you about the french toast. Goddamn. Fluffy, warm, and flavorful with crisped edges. So often french toast is dry and lacking in real stand alone flavor; not the case here. I am going to have to search L.A. for a comparable slice because this was quite the treat. Our server was nice and on top of everything, the restaurant itself is casual and cute, and the price matches the portions. The local Uber driver wasn't wrong! Go and enjoy Toast. read more

I have been back to Toast several times and love it more and more each time. I'm a big breakfast person --- it's the hardest meal to screw up and when it's done right it's more satisfying than the other two by far. The portions at Toast are generous and the food is always hot and good. The coffee is the bomb: strong and hot and refilled on time. I always get the bacon, eggs and pancakes but I've also tried the Turkey Pedro (named after one of the waiters) and I have to say it's absolutely DELICIOUS. Delicious enough to have me potentially deviate from my standard order in the future, which is saying something. Yummy cinnamon rolls and their roasted potatoes are seasoned to perfection. Service is always professional, efficient and attentive. Sometimes Toast is a little busy, which is nothing but a good sign for other foodies out there, but it's more than worth the wait. Toast, you have the ugliest, boringest company logo and name of all of the breakfast places. I am so tired of the trendy one-word, one-syllable business names. It's sooooo 2000. It's like yeah maybe I should go to "chop" for my haircut next and "srpouts" to get my groceries and then "bash" to get my party on later tonight. Stupid. And your logo is a boring ass piece of toast. I am taking off two stars for horrible college-intern-marketing. But only because I know that it won't affect your overall rating. As far as the food, it's awesome. Chicken fried steak and eggs = perfection. My final criticism is to clean your ketchup bottles. Wow, Toast serves up a mighty fine breakfast! I came here for the first time with a friend who loves this place. We shared our breakfasts. She ordered the Corned Beef Hash Benny and I ordered the Bourbon Praline French Toast. Both were amazing, the homemade hash was fantastic and the French toast was thick and fluffy. Walking in a bit after 9 on a Sunday, the place was pretty busy. Lots of energy in this vibrant dive. Several items on the menu looked awesome, but one in particular stood out a bit more -- mainly because there's no way I'd find it in Oregon: Santa Fe French Toast. A savory French toast with spicy chorizo, green chile, avocado crema, queso anejo, pico de gallo, and cheese. And for $10.99, it was a lovely generous portion! I thought it was great to have a more savory French toast. The chorizo was excellent, with a bit of moisture and that very fresh feel to it. The avocado and pico de gallo added great color and refreshing qualities, bringing everything together. The runny egg yolk, by itself, almost sold me. Panda happy! Their coffee, even at $2.75, was full-bodied and extremely satisfying. Made by Novo. I'd guess it's a dark roast. I could easily drink enough cups to get my money's worth. Been here twice. 1. Had the eggs benedict with steak and crab. I don't remember it being anything worth writing about. I can tell you that I wouldn't order it again. 2. The chicken fried steak is nasty. $13 for a strange cut of 'meat' battered in what tasted like Elmer's Glue and fried to a dark brown crisp. I thought it was odd that my server didn't ask if everything was OK as I didn't touch the core of my meal. Oh well... I'm a bit surprised by all of the great coffee comments, as I thought it was revolting. Folger's instant is total swill and I don't even call it revolting. Maybe I had a bad batch. I'll only go back if someone else is paying. I'd only get toast, eggs, potatoes (which are pretty good) and water. This would cost $10. I'd rather go to Waffle House. read more

First time eating at Toast. I had the Eggs Benedict with a side of corned beef hash and my husband had sausage and eggs with pancakes on the side. When the waitress took my order she told me she couldn't substitute the corned beef hash for the potatoes in my order so I would have to have a side of corned beef hash if I wanted it. I agreed, but when my food came to our table the potatoes were missing and another plate came with the corned beef hash on it. Why they just didn't put it all on one plate amazes me. The Eggs Benedict was awful the Hollandaise sauce was very acidic, the poached eggs were over poached, and the ham was dry and over cooked. The corned beef hash was dry and desperately needed salt. My husband's breakfast came with thin, dry, and chewy sausage. The scrambled eggs were dry and tasteless. The potatoes were under cooked. The pancakes were light and average tasting. They were very pourus and kept soaking up vast amounts of syrup. The service was bad. Our waitress was unfriendly, refused to substitute corned beef hash for potatoes; but charged us for them; never asked us if our meal was ok after we received it, or if we needed anything. Bottom line it was our first time eating at Toast and it will be our last. I can't for the life of me figure out what the draw is to this place. It is small, noisy, and has bad food. read more
