Extremely disappointing experience! Our server, Pedro, was especially rude to us and the couple next to us. He was outright insulting. We gave a 10% tip which I felt was generous considering the the rude manners of our server. Apparently Pedro thought $25 tip on our $30 breakfast would go unnoticed. Well, we did notice and decided to do something about it. A complaint was filed with BBB and we alerted the bank to the fraudulent charges. The next day we received a call from the manager expressing his apologies and he said of course they would take this matter very seriously and that the waiter in question would not be working there any longer. He sent us a gift card to try it out again and asked that if we had a better experience to please take down negative reviews. We have tried it again. I few times in fact. The food was okay and the waitress we had the next couple times was very professional and nice. However, the third time we came back after the initial incident I saw Pedro again! It turns out the manager is a liar that will hire a thief to work for him. We will not be back, which is a shame since it is walking distance from our house it could have been a regular thing. read more

I love this place. The location, near old downtown Littleton, is perfect for a breakfast place ... one can take a leisurely walk down Main Street after a hearty meal. The room is small and usually packed which gives it an upbeat feel. The "toast" art on the walls gives me something to look at above my companion's head. Weird, but interesting. The service has always been stellar; friendly, prompt, informative. The first time I went there, they were having trouble with the vents in the kitchen and the room became a bit smokey. Our server apologized profusely. I've had lots of items from the breakfast menu (they also have great fresh-ground burgers and a killer BLT) and all were yummy. My favorite are the lemon blueberry pancakes. Crispy on the outside, lemony and fluffy on the inside, with just the right amount of berries so that you get a taste in each bite. Mouthwatering! The bacon is thick cut and served in ample portions, eggs are buttery and the potatoes are crispy, crunchy, seasoned on the outside and well-cooked on the inside. Horrible Service, food alright except for moldy bread. Four of us ate here recently and had the misfortune of being waited on by Dirk. From the moment he halfheartedly greeted us we could tell he was a completely apathetic server. We didn't have sugar on the table and when I asked him he brought us four packets -- why not bring the whole sugar dish everyone else had? One of us had bread with the meal and it had a good size bit of mold on it. When we showed him he just said "oh" and took it away. Not even an empty apology. I loved this place! I'm always weary of brunch places because I'm not the biggest fan of typical breakfasts, but this place has something for everyone. The wait can be long, but you can add your name to the waitlist through yelp on your way there so this makes it less of a pain (just make sure you check in with the hostess once you arrive - your name isn't officially on the waitlist until you do). The best part of the wait is the free coffee outside...this place is serious about taking care of its customers. I had the chai French toast which was phenomenal...I ordered the side portion and it was HUGE! I fee like the "regular" portion would be ridiculously big. I'll never understand why restaurants make larger than life portions when no one can actually finish them, it seems like a marketing thing or a way of offering shock value...and if their food is great quality there's no reason for this...I digress. My good friend and I can be quite indecisive when we try to make any plans, especially when it comes to food. We decided on Toast based on its great reviews and word of mouth. To start, it is a smaller place, but definitely worth the wait! We did not have to wait too long, about 20 minutes. You can definitely try to call in to be placed on the waitlist, but I believe they give you a time to arrive to keep your place on the list. We both love chai tea -- so when we saw that they had chai, we definitely had to try it. Tip: their drinks are huge! The chai was a great blend of sweet and spicy, but a little too large to finish. I decided to try the smothered chorizo omelet. We both shared a pancake flight as well (we decided it would be worth it to go all out to try both savory and sweet dishes). The smothered chorizo omelet had eggs that were so light and airy and it was filled with full-of-flavor chorizo. The green chile on top had a little kick to it and added great flavor to the omelet. For the pancake flight, we chose to try devil's food, lemon blueberry, peach berry crumble, and strawberry cheesecake. I personally enjoyed the devil's food and lemon blueberry. The devil's food was packed with chocolate flavor and melted chocolate chips without being too sweet. It was pretty much like eating cake for breakfast. The lemon blueberry pancake had a delicious, tangy lemon curd alongside some gingersnap crumbles which accompanied the blueberry pancakes perfectly. I read John S's review and have to say "ditto." Toast has been on my to-try list for a long time and I made it in a couple of weeks ago. It is good - I had a salmon omelet and it was very good. The coffee is also very good - definitely not what you get from a restaurant wholesaler. Serving sizes are average - plenty, but not large. Our service was excellent - prompt, friendly, attentive and efficient. They weren't packed when we were there (9:00 a.m. on a weekday), but I hear they can have long lines on weekends. If you've read this far, I know what you're saying - "What's the deal? Sounds like a 4 to me." So why just a 3? In a word, value. It would be a strong 4 if it was less expensive, but at $9 to $16 for most breakfasts, it's pretty pricey. It's good, but it's not that good. The coffee is definitely good, but that's true at most of Toast's somewhat higher end breakfast peers. The menu is a bit more interesting and less pedestrian than most, but not that much more interesting and less pedestrian. Is it overpriced? That's a subjective question. Apparently they're not lacking for business, including repeat business, so at least some of their clientele must not see them as overpriced, at least not SO overpriced as to preclude their return. Will I go back to Toast? Sure - they serve a good breakfast with good service in a pleasant setting, and even at around $3.00 to $5.00 per meal more than their peers, I've blown $5.00 in worse ways than a good but (to me) overpriced breakfast. But I'll walk back at my leisure - it isn't so exceptional or such a great value that I'll run back. I have a love/hate relationship with this place. They have a great breakfast menu! Service and food quality is spotty, but generally on the positive side. The worst thing--the part about it that really makes the hate part of the relationship--is the NOISE. Oh my God. They need to do something about this--rugs or something to soften it. If the place is full, everybody yells over one another to be heard and it is really, really irritating. No relaxed breakfast here, it really sets your nerves on edge. Some things for you to consider before coming here, especially during the weekend: -parking is very limited. -the wait wasn't bad (20 min) but we were surprised to see another "2 top" pull in 10 min after us then get called for a table 2 min later AHEAD of us! How does that work? Is there call ahead? Or is this a friend of someone who works there? -it's very loud. If you are coming for a quiet breakfast go elsewhere. -food was good. Not great. Holy Maple Long John Stuffed French Toast. My husband and I have eaten here probably 4 or 5 times. It is always good. By good I mean you may leave in a diabetic coma. The decor is nice and bright if you are seated in the front room. The back room isn't bad, but you definitely feel detached from the rest of the restaurant. It can also be very loud, so if you are looking for a nice place to talk over brunch with your sweetie then this might not be your best bet. When we first visited Toast almost a year ago our server asked if we wanted to be enrolled in their birthday and anniversary club. I was felling giddy (from all that sugar) and I signed up. I have since received a coupon for two free meals. One for my birthday and another for my anniversary. I don't know if they are still doing that, but ask your server. It is worth it. Okay, so on to the food finally. They have good pancakes. They are almost all covered in powdered sugar and whipped cream...which I sometimes I feel like and I sometimes don't. Does anyone else struggle with this at brunch? I never know if I should order sweet or savory. Anyways, I have also had their Sante Fe Stuffed French Toast. It is pretty good. They also have a decent, if not great, hollandaise. My favorite thing I have had there are the Gravy Cakes. Which is basically biscuits and gravy with pancakes. Very good. Very huge. Today I tried something new on the menu called Maple Long John Stuffed French Toast. Whoa. It was like eating Bavarian creme filled doughnuts. This is a solid breakfast joint. Yes, the parking sucks (there is a good chance you will have to park a couple blocks away). Yes, it is very busy, crowded, cramped, and has a tiny waiting area. And finally, on the negatives, it is not cheap. Two people can easily spend over $30 for breakfast. But, the service is great, and the food is excellent. Wow! This menu is not typical, and the food is excellent! I usually drink black coffee and never drink lattes, but I had to try the maple bacon latte special - it was delicious! I also had the Garden Benedict and a side of french toast (I have enough leftovers for tomorrow's breakfast). The french toast is made with huge slices of rustic bread. The potatoes are seasoned perfectly (the rosemary is a nice touch). I left at closing time (3pm) and was given a cup of coffee to go - also very good (strong and hot). This place is so good! I have insane food allergies and it was so nice that they were willing to work with me. It can be a nightmare eating out at all but our waiter was kind, patient, brought a gluten free menu and then I just took out the other items I couldn't have. My friend got the Eggs Benedict and she loved them. She got the one with the spicy bacon and avocado. If you're going to try the spice I do recommend having the avocado to cook it down a bit. The service is fast and they know how to turn tables here. The food is somewhat cold but still good. They're very careful with my celiac disease and I've never had a problem. The place is set up weird and if you have a problem with getting your space invaded, this place is not for you. Toast is my favorite place to grab breakfast in Littleton. The food is always great and they serve gigantic portions, so make sure to come hungry. Their Chai is awesome as well. Depending on who serves you, you may or may not have a pleasant experience with them. I've found it's usually hit or miss in this department. The front dining area is very small and feels cramped during peak hours, but it's cute and well decorated and that compensates for the size a bit. I also really enjoy their coffee and would recommend trying it at least once. Overall, it's a great meal and a great price. read more

Awesome little brunch place in Littleton! Family owned with lots of homemade menu choices. My waiter this morning was attentive, informative and pleasant. Mocha latte was delish- not piping hot, but very tasty with a dollop of whipped cream. I ordered corn beef hash with poached eggs, side of homemade slightly spiced Hollandaise sauce and side of biscuits and gravy. Eggs cooked perfect, hash was good and home fries average. Biscuits were delish- soft, super light, airy and buttery- and gravy was peppered and also very good. Would def recommend this place. read more

This place is not elderly or handicap friendly. Only one handicap parking spot and you have to walk around to the other side of the parking lot to access the handicap ramp. No handicap restrooms and over all think that it's a shame for as popular as they are that they dont care enough for the handicap or elderly. Will not be returning at all. read more

Five stars from me by virtue of it being the best breakfast I've had in Denver, and I've tried most of the big names. Pancakes are light and fluffy and while the Santa Fe french toast caught me off guard the first time I had it, once I figured out what they were trying to do I really liked it. Coffee drinks are also well made and prices on everything is reasonable, especially considering the portions. The pancake menu seems to rotate in recipes for ones that might not be as popular. One of my friends had the tiramisu pancakes and was kinda underwhelmed, by the next time we went they were off the menu. Service has always been prompt, and the longest wait I've experienced was ~15 minutes. I agree with the reviewer who said the back room looks like an after-church donut and coffee hall, but I would much prefer eating there to having to wait another 30 minutes to get a table. Definitely recommended, and if you live in the area you've got to check them out. Props if you're able to clean a plate of gravy cakes. read more

So I really like this place. The cream an berries French toast is great and so are the peach berry crumble pancakes are great as well. My only problem is that all the fruit is canned. I would pay a dollar or two more to get fresh fruit and it would definitely taste better and be more health conscience. This is the only reason I'm giving 4 stars. It's a very busy restaurant and parking is atrocious . I wasn't overly impressed with the pancakes (lemon blueberry ginger), but the cinnamon roll was delightful. I order food to go so I can't comment on the waitstaff. I did. However have to warm all my food up when I got home and I live only 2 blocks from the restaurant. I'll say that this place has great variety for breakfast. I will also say that if you don't leave here with a sugar rush you probably didn't eat or have any of their coffees (outside regular coffee of course). You will wait for a table, just accept it. Their oreo pancakes are pretty good.... I am a fan of peanut butter though and was heartbroken that their peanut butter pancakes were... well awful. Instead of adding peanut butter at the end they add it to the batter which of course causes it to burn when cooking... which makes me so sad. I do however like their potatoes. read more

They have a special option (in case you can't decide what flavor of pancake and with choices like oreo, cheesecake, peanut butter, and carrot cake it's the hardest decision you'll face) called the pancake flight, which includes 4 flavors of pancakes. I've never had to wait longer than about 15 minutes, but I've never been there on a Sunday morning. So it's possible there will be a long wait in store for you. As other reviewers have mentioned the parking lot is a bit small, but many of the side streets have available parking and after a meal like this, who doesn't want to walk a little? read more

My husband and I were doing a weekend getaway to Denver for our 2 year anniversary. I was looking online for breakfast places and came across Toast. Looked good so we gave it a go. I had the creme brûlée latte and chai tea infused french toast. Sweet baby Jesus, that was the best coffee I have EVER had!! It was delicious!!! The chai french toast was equally amazing. Everyone one here flips out about the parking, but I really don't see what the big deal is. If there isn't a parking spot available, you just park on the street, which we did. I was expecting a lot from Toast after reading the reviews here. Unfortunately, it does not seem reality quite measures up. Going on a Saturday morning, we did get straight in, which I was happy with, but got a table right in the back corner, with which I was not terribly. Beat a 10-minute wait though, which was what they estimated for another one. I was expecting to likely have a wait, so at least the immediate seating was a pleasant surprise. The food? That, at least, was pretty good, though not great. I got a salmon omelette, and my wife a sausage burrito. They had good flavors and were cooked well, but were nothing terribly special. I didn't like the potatoes much though--the idea of using sliced red potatoes is nice, but they were very greasy. On the other hand, the pancakes that came with the omelette were light, fluffy, and excellent. The salmon itself was too salty. The food is a bit pricy, but pretty good, and will likely make you two meals at the portion size. Unfortunately, that's about the only good part. To start with, the parking lot setup is terrible, with the only exit being onto a main road around a blind curve. I should have parked on the street instead, but in downtown Littleton, that's not always easy to do. It is dangerous and I'm surprised they haven't caused any accidents yet. The art on the walls is cool. Unfortunately, that's the only good part about the atmosphere. The room is cramped and very noisy, and the chairs feel more like a barstool. The tables remind me of a cafeteria, as does the long bench-style booth in the back. The service, as well, was very poor. I think we may have gotten refills on coffee and water once. At $2.75 for a cup of coffee (seriously, guys?), I'd better get plenty of it at least. Our waitress disappeared for long periods, so it was impossible even to call her over, and it took us about fifteen minutes just to get the check. All told? Meh. The food was good, but nothing to scream about. Definitely not enough to bring me back with all the other headaches. Yelp doesn't often lead me wrong, but this was a bit of a dud. read more
