We decided to have a late breakfast and drove down Brand Blvd. and saw Toasted Bun, which used to be Eat Well. It is now under new management as of July 1, 2016. It has a typical old diner feel, which is exactly the thing we were in the mood for. We were greeted with friendly smiles and chose to sit at the bar. Our waitress, Lupe, was very friendly and answered my questions about a few dishes. I finally ordered one corn pancake and a side of hash browns. My boyfriend had 2 eggs and bacon, which was 2 eggs, 4 strips of bacon, hash browns and toast. The place was pretty full when we got there, but our food didn't take too long. My corn pancake was SO DELICIOUS. I can't imagine eating a stack of 3, so I'm glad our waitress let me order just one! The hash browns were just how we like them; crispy on the outside and soft potato underneath. My boyfriend was quite happy with his meal too. We had one small issue, but that was the fault of another server. When we brought it to Lupe's attention, she quickly corrected the other server's mess-up, apologized and then even comped our whole meal! The corn pancake was so good that I would have likely come back anyway, but this kind of service makes me feel very good about giving them 4 stars. I hope the management reads this, because people like Lupe are an asset to your business and will ensure you have happy, returning customers. When the Glendale crowds flock to Foxy's or Porto's for breakfast, the Toasted Bun is a fine alternative. It can get crowded here too, but I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes to be sat. The menu is that of most diners; from basic bacon and eggs to a good ol' cheeseburger. I usually grab the chicken fried steak cause I love that country gravy and a lil' crunchy chicken in the mornin', but recently grabbed the Toasted Bun Omelette and enjoyed every bite. Topped with fresh avocado, wrapped around a few yolky yet fluffy eggs you got your cheese, onions, mushrooms, bell peppers, and bacon that's baked as opposed to fried. I devoured the whole plate that included a side of home potatoes and an English muffin, instantly being satisfied. I've had a nice experience every visit and usually find myself here on Sundays when saying 'What up?!' to my mother on that side of the world. Toasted Bun was an amazing find for us. We just happened to drive-by one morning after we moved into the neighborhood and is now one of our main go-to spots on our "weekend brunch" rotation. We usually eat here 2 to 3 times a month. The staff are always super friendly and prompt. We love the traditional dinner feel of the place and even more so now that they added an outdoor patio. I ordered earlier in the week and I waited 10 min more than the 20 min eta I got just to get back to work and realize they messed up my order and the food I got was old. Took a long time to get the food we ordered. The eggs were unbelievably bland, like hospital food. The bacon was cold and hard, as if it had sat for a long time. The hash browns were not cooked enough. No water refills or even a quick "how is your food" from the server during the meal. Had to flag the server down to take the check. Server opted to take a new order instead of cashing us out even though we had been sitting there waiting for ten minutes. The place was not busy. My friend asked server to charge $20 on her card and the rest on my other friends card. When the cards came back, one card was charged $25, the other the remainder of the bill. Will not be returning. Sunday at noon the place was packed. Twenty to thirty minute wait for a table so we sat at the counter that was open immediately. Glad we didn't wait for a table and sorry that we ate there at all. Food was bad, service was worse and the prices were high. I've made many mistakes in my life and this was certainly one of them. Once, I found a breakfast spot that made stuffed hashbrowns. I'm always trying to recreate that taste at other breakfast spots. At Toasted Bun I ordered the veggie omelet filling (no omelet, no cheese) with hashbrowns as the side, then made a sandwich of the veggies between the halves of hashbrowns. DELICIOUS. Only thing I'd change is a better choice of jelly/jam for my sourdough toast. The browns were perfect crispy outside, tender inside. The veggies tasted fresh. I come here often, and I almost never have any complaints. All of the staff is always so friendly and attentive, they make it feel so welcoming. Coffee is delicious and always being refreshed! Our family loves the manager... (not sure his name but he is the gentleman with the mustache) he's always extremely kind, super personable and also great with our little ones. The ambiance is super cute, maybe one would say a little older vibed, but nostalgic to say it best. Definitely gives off classic cafe, which is hard to find now. We love this place! It's a staple for our family when we decide to eat out. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of five, is because as of recent the food does seem to take a little longer to come out, and doesn't always taste the same. However, the staff always makes sure they get it sorted. We love the ambiance so much that it is very easy to over look those tiny complaints. This place is a hidden gem for sure! Came here because I ran a search on the best waffles near by. To my surprise this restaurant popped up. They have quite a menu!! Looks modern and cute and was surprised to be greeted with that homey Latino hospitality. It was a nice feel. I was excited to see some corned beef hash on the menu that isn't really carried that often on breakfast menus these days. My hubby enjoyed his waffle (which is why we came to try them). I loved my corned beef hash and it took me back to when I was a little girl. My son enjoyed his French toast. And my daughter enjoyed her huge pancake! Overall no complaints! My husband and I stopped by to get something to eat meanwhile our car gets serviced close by. Lady on the door, is kind of not welcoming and knowledgeable on their products. I noticed that one person at the kitchen had the face mask off, hanging from his ear; we had ordered already . I understand that face mask are a pain in the @ss and it gets pretty hot but come on there is a reason why we need to wear them, specially if you are cooking someone's else's food. We got our order; disappointing . Red sauce on chilaquiles from a can, salty, non spicy; the menu states they come with sour cream and cheese, however they didn't have any. They come with refried beans, and for God's sake who told them that cheddar goes with beans!? Beans goes with Panela, cotija, even feta but never yellow cheeses. Also they put Mexican rice, dry tasteless. Green Chilaquiles were better, sauce was from roasted serrano Chile which was nice. It comes with some meat, which was not that good but eatable. Again no sour cream or cheese. People if your menu states that certain things come with the dish!! Well your customers will expect to see it on the plate. read more

My mother and a family friend who was in town decided to try this place as were new to the area and have heard good things. We walked in, many employees but no one said a word. Was waiting to be seated or at least acknowledged by someone for around 10 minutes. A white couple walks in and is treated very well and immediately gets told to sit wherever they want.
