Came here Saturday and was greeted, sat down right away, and given water and coffee. Great, right? But after that, service was non-existent. After seeing several tables that were seated after us get their orders in and food served, it took me waving my arm and verbally calling out to get anyone's attention. Grateful to Sandy who didn't seem to be serving our area but took the liberty to make things right so the extra stars are for her. I thoroughly enjoyed the service at Toasted Gastrobrunch during my 2-day stay at Pier South. My hotel package included breakfast both days, so I looked forward to exploring the menu options. I was not disappointed! The first morning, I ordered the French Toast Combo and opted for the Portuguese linguica sausage as my protein. It was delicious! Erika was my server and she was excellent! Very friendly and went above and beyond her call of duty by enquiring at the front desk about spa services that I had previously asked her about. The second morning, I ordered the chilaquiles - AMAZING!!! The beef barbacoa in this dish was the bomb! I ordered it with over medium eggs and the runny yoke was a great addition to a perfect dish. Fernando's customer service went above my expectations. He was the perfect combination of professionalism and friendliness. I absolutely loved this place! I went to the restaurant assuming it was the same place I visited years ago. I was informed when I arrived however they were under new management and a new name. I went during the middle of the week as I had the day off for my birthday. The restaurant just opened so I was one of the only diners. My waitstaff was friendly. I wanted to celebrate the day however I don't drink so I asked if they could make the lavender mimosa alcohol free. They were accommodating and brought it out to me. It was quite tasty and very pretty! I loved the view of the ocean. I dined outside so it was a bit chilly. I enjoyed it though. I ordered French toast, eggs and fruit (pineapple). So good! The service here was horrible. My party had a reservation and upon being seated we were not approached by a server for 30 minutes. It wasn't until we stopped someone and asked to be helped that we were able to order. The restaurant is extremely dirty. The outside patio needs to be deeply cleaned. We also received dirty silverware with old lipstick marks on it and pieces of food on it. That being said the food was good and the view was also nice. However, the service and dirtiness really takes away from the experience. I had visited the La Mesa location before this and expected the same high quality experienced.
