I'm a huge fan of Mexican food and their desserts are no exception. I've seen lots of La Michoacána places around and frequent them but saw this shop and wanted to try something new. I was not disappointed. -Location & Design: it is located in a big plaza so it's very easy to find. The store has some indoor seating and is spacious. They have cute decorations, depending on the season; this adds such a comfortable homey feel to the place. The display cases are lit up well so you don't have to worry about not being able to view the choices (there's a whole lot of them!) The space is ideal for grabbing dessert with a partner, family, or friends and sitting/conversing. -Foods: My favorite thing about this place is their unique flavors of ice cream/paletas, diablitos (chamoy drinks), aguas frescas, etc. You can ask for samples of pretty much anything too. Flavors that stood out to me were Maria's cookies ice cream, gansito ice cream, and bubu ice cream. These are reminiscent of popular childhood favorites so it's really cool to see a local place reimagine them! They all taste authentic to the actual treats too so I think experts would be satisfied. -Service: Everyone here is so friendly and helpful! I think one specific guy is the owner and he's been there both times I've come in. He was happy to let us sample whatever ice cream flavors and aguas. He even suggested his preferences or good combos and described flavors. The cashiers are nice too. Service is always quick despite lots of guests I.e families with children coming in. They never break a sweat or let you wait for long. -Lastly, the item I chose was a gansito sundae and I was pleasantly surprised! It tasted exactly like I thought it would and more. Came here with my boyfriend and his cousin for dessert. I got a mangonada. I absolutely love mangos and was so excited to try this. It was really delicious but just a bit too much chili for my taste. I will definitely try it again but request less chili so I can taste the mango more. My boyfriend also got lime flavoured ice cream and it tasted fantastic!! I might actually get a scoop of that in the mangonada next time as well since you can get up to four scoops in the super mangonada of different things. The people were super friendly, and they were technically supposed to be closed at 9pm but since there were still people coming in, they didn't close until 10pm! They have an amazing variety of flavors including the standard chocolate and vanilla but so much more. They really do have a little bit of everything here. This was our first trip to Disneyland and as always, I checked Yelp to see the great eateries nearby that fellow yelpers might have recommended. I was so excited to find this little ice cream and Mexican snack place in a small strip mall very near to our hotel! I was blown away by their paleta and ice cream collection! They were all house made, tasted fresh with no artificial flavors and were not gnawingly sweet. For the 4 days we were there, we ended up coming every day to try a new flavor! While my daughter stuck to Limon, we tried pico de gallo paleta (spicy with bits of mango pieces and oh so good), the curdled milk paleta (thick and creamy with bits of curdled milk), sweet rice paleta (tasted more like rice pudding), banana pudding, coconut and bubblegum (it actually had bits of bubblegum pieces) ice creams. We also tried 2 of their drinks Tejuino with linon ice cream on top and a mango slushie with housemate chamoi sauce and they were absolutely delicious! Our flavors were: Coconut: super creamy, our favorite Guava: our second favorite Mango: good flavor Lime: fresh and tart, pairs well with the chamoy The chamoy had a great balance of spice and sweet The mango chunks were sweet and fresh tasting We tried the mazapan ice cream (peanut) and it was so good we'll be back to get a full serving. I wish it was slightly cheaper, but the quality makes up for it.
