Small spot with a parking lot, Zelle and cash only. The server which I also presume is the owner is very nice. He seems so genuine and was very helpful with the menu. I can tell he has a lot of care for his food and customers. I heard they had the best stinky tofu in the area but I didn't think it was that great - at least the fried one. It was a bit hard and not very stinky so I wouldn't come here just for that. However we went back the next day to try the stinky tofu in the pots and it was delicious. What we got: Crispy chicken Crispy chicken rice Spicy wontons Ru Lou fan Stinky tofu Cold noodle 3 variety cold side dish Wintermelon tea All of the above were good. Stand outs were the crispy chicken and the cold side dish. Also loved the wintermelon tea but it could be too sweet for some. The owner said that he makes the wintermelon tea himself and it is not from a can. The spicy wontons were also delicious but do note it's spicy! The cold noodle didn't look like the photo, the noodles were much thinner. However it was still tasty.

Quiet, Cheap looking and doesn't seem to have a lot of staff working. I went during lunch on a weekday, there was no one besides the shop keeper. There were a few people who ordered takeout waiting for their orders. But the stanky tofu was bomb, definitely worthy of the name. My taiwanese gf liked it and she is very particular with her stinky tofu. This place seems to be the real deal. Definitely going back!

We were visiting family in the Pasadena/Arcadia area from Las Vegas and were craving stinky tofu and authentic Taiwanese comfort food. Over our 5‑day weekend, we ended up coming to Tofu King twice because there were so many dishes we wanted to try. We ordered braised pork over rice, stinky tofu, cold noodles, pork chop over rice, marinated tofu, chicken fingers, and several appetizers - everything was delicious. The flavors were spot‑on, the portions generous, and the service consistently warm and attentive. We're used to excellent Taiwanese food in NYC/Flushing, and Tofu King absolutely holds its own. We only wish there were a location back home in Las Vegas!

This isn't a fancy spot, but it's a great place in LA if you're craving authentic Taiwanese cuisine. They had everything I was craving, the oyster omelette and the cold noodles were my favorites. I even grabbed a bento box to go for a late night supper. The prices are definitely higher than what you'd pay in Taiwan, but it's still a solid choice if you want to enjoy a taste of Taiwan without hopping on a plane. Also, I don't think they accept cards.

Taiwanese stinky tofu is so hard to find here in america i think mainly due to the smell. Tofu king makes them perfectly! The kimchi that goes along with it is has the perfect amount of tang. The tofu is crispy on the outside yet fluffy on the inside. I will always make it a point to stop here and pick up stinky tofu when i make the drive down to socal. It is definitely worth the stop if you are craving authentic taiwanese food. I have also tried the pork rice and the pork fat perfectly coats every grain of rice. The owners are super friendly as well. Defining try it out!

At the beginning, the owner was quite rude telling me he was the only person working and could not gave our party two tables for 8 bc he might have other smaller parties coming. He asked us to wait outside and end up he brought out another smaller table and put the table for us, but when we walked in, he insisted us to wait outside and it's quite hot during that time and we have one elderly and 3 kids in the party. Anyway, we waited and went in when he called us, The menu seems extensive and they are famous for their stinky tofu, so we ordered that, a cold noodles, oyster pancakes, a minced pork rice and some pop corn chicken and veggies to share. The food came out quickly and it's tasty. The tofu had a nice texture and great with the sauces. I also love the sausages too; it has good flavor and texture especially with the garlic. The cold noodles are also very tasty and refreshing. My least favorite is the oyster pancakes...the texture was ok plus not many oysters. The owner end up becoming friendly. During summer, could be hot bc they didn't turn on the ac when we were there, but luckily it's still winter. No water provided, you either get their bottle water or drinks or bring in your own water. The place is small, be prepared if you have a larger party.

It's a local business, good company family ambiance. Staff is great he "owner" will explain you and answer any questions you may have. Thank you Food - delicious Awesome Stinky Tofu - with Garlic Soy or spicy sauce! Check out the images. Don't forget to try the plum sour drink.

Nostalgia Taiwanese food with fresh ingredients (NO MSG) and authentic taste of many home-sick dishes. Definitely try their signature special - Stinky tofu, oyster pancake, beef noodle soup & minced pork rice! The menu is overwhelming with colorful pictures and description. Ambiance is pretty much what you may feel when you go to mom n' pop food stands in Taiwan. Price is worth the taste and how much effort they put in for creativity and insist on using quality ingredients for their food. The owner was trained in Chengdu for 8 years. So, do not forget to also try their Szechuan flavored items! Yum yum

You walk in thinking, "I'll just grab a quick bowl," and suddenly there's a noodle master stretching dough like he's training for the Olympics. Their Lanzhou-style noodles? Fresh, chewy, and honestly a little too good--they'll ruin instant ramen for you forever. The Lan noodle soup is so rich and savory. The died mixed noodle feels like a warm hug... if hugs came with chili oil and a kick that sneaks up on you. It's a small, busy spot, so yeah, you might wait--but don't worry, the line moves fast. Plus, it gives you time to emotionally prepare for choosing your noodle shape. Thin? Wide? Triangle? This is not a decision to take lightly. One wrong move and you'll be thinking about it halfway through your bowl like, "I should've gone wider."

They have a small and large sweet and sour chicken rice plate. I had gotten the small size just to try it out, but it was surprisingly good (5/5). The pork sandwich bun was decent (4/5) since the beef was tasty but the sandwich bun could be better. We also had the traditional beef noodle soups with either the wide flat and triangle ones. You can't go wrong with these freshly made pulled noodles, and they are very hearty portions. Flavor is good and the beef is very tender. The smashed cucumbers were decent also (4/5), but nothing spectacular about them. Service is very quick, attentive and pleasant. This is a good go to spot for a quick meal. The dining room doesn't seat a lot of people so try not to come during busy dining hours on weekends to avoid a long wait.

I ordered the Deluxe Mazesoba, which comes with chashu and a hard-boiled egg. I really liked the deluxe version because it felt more filling and had a good amount of protein from the minced pork, chashu, and poached egg. The bowl had a lot of flavor, and I ended up finishing the whole thing, so I didn't even get a chance to try the free scoop of rice at the end. The mazesoba was a bit on the salty side, but it wasn't something that bothered me. The seaweed and fish powder added extra depth and helped give the bowl more variety, while the green onions added a nice texture and freshness. I came on a Wednesday night and didn't have to wait at all, which was a plus. Overall, I enjoyed my first mazesoba experience here and could definitely see myself coming back whenever I'm in the area.

Menya Hanabi is a Japanese noodle shop specializing in Nagoya-style mazesoba, a type of soupless…read moreramen that focuses on mixing noodles with flavorful toppings instead of relying on a traditional broth. We walked into a casual ramen shop atmosphere, the kind of place that works well for a quick and satisfying meal rather than a long dining experience. The space is functional and focused, with a menu centered around different variations of mazesoba along with a few sides and drinks. The main reason to visit is the mazesoba, and it delivers a completely different experience from typical ramen. The noodles have a chewy texture and are meant to be mixed thoroughly with the toppings, sauce, and egg yolk to bring everything together. We tried the Nagoya-style combination of spicy minced pork, green onions, seaweed, garlic, and other toppings, and found the bowl rich and layered, with each bite getting better as everything blended together. The deluxe versions add more toppings and make the dish feel more complete, while the spice level can be adjusted depending on how much heat you prefer. The richness of the sauce and toppings is balanced by the brightness of the egg yolk and the crunch of the onions, keeping the dish from feeling one-dimensional. The restaurant also offers options like takoyaki and matcha drinks, which add variety to the meal. The matcha latte is a nice contrast to the heavier noodle dishes, while the sides work well for sharing or adding something extra to the table. Since mazesoba is naturally a heavier dish, the balance of toppings and textures helps keep the meal from feeling too rich, and the sides offer a lighter counterpoint. Service is quick and the experience moves efficiently, which fits the casual style of the restaurant. Menya Hanabi can get crowded during busy hours, and waits are possible, but the focused menu and flavorful bowls make it worth adding to a noodle rotation. It is a great spot if you want to try something different from traditional ramen, delivering a meal that feels both intentional and satisfying, with a concept that is simple but executed in a way that makes the noodles stand out.
