This place is great. My wife needed lunch because she had been at the hospital all night and morning and just needed some food. Celebrating another year of Yelp Elite with a review of ... Togo's? Yep! And I'm the ultimate sucker for a Togo's pastrami. Which just sounds like heresy, somehow, living in a city (LA) that has ample traditional delicatessen options. But there's something oddly beautiful about the #9 at Togo's. The bread is soft, the pastrami is piping hot and surprisingly tender, and it's just consistently good. This particular Togo's had a team of two incredibly friendly staffers who did a nice job of making small-talk while preparing my order. The lead staffer was ultra-cordial even when I redeemed the Yelp check-in offer for a free drink (note to other businesses, don't look surprised or angry when someone uses an offer you posted). I always appreciate a worker who is AWARE of the offer and also happily cashes it in. The other guy working was also chatting it up while sweeping up the floor. Multi-tasking in a fast-food sandwich place is not something you see at competitors. I was in, got my order, ate my food, and rolled back out into the rain in 20 minutes. Expertly done. read more

This is one of the best sandwich places I've ever been to. I started coming here a couple weeks ago after working more in the Anaheim Hills area. My first sandwich was a turkey & avocado on a whole wheat sub role= very tasty and great portions. Nothing like your Subway or Quiznos (both of those are crap in my opinion). I also tried the South West Mex wrap it's amazing! Loaded with white meat grilled chicken, fresh crunchy lettuce, corn, black beans, cheese, a nice sauce, tomatoes, and vegetables- very delicious. This location is extremely clean, the staff is very attentive & friendly, and the Man in charge- Paul is on the ball every time. They also offer free WIFI Access. This place is hopping around lunch time from about 1130am-130pm and it's usually a good sign of a restaurant's quality when the place is always packed. While it's usually always 'happening' they do a great job of keeping the line moving very quickly since there's at least 3 or 4 people working at a time during the busy hours. I really enjoy coming here, perhaps a little too much, as I've been spending about 40 bucks a week here just for 'quick lunches' haha. Their prices are very reasonable (about 5.50-6.50 including tax per sandwich) and the portions are excellent. I just wanted to weigh in and post something for Togo's since there appears to be a bunch of haters on here writing negative reviews and I think they are unwarranted. I've had horrible customer service experiences here. I'm sure it's a nice place if you just order a standard sandwich with everything on it, but if you have any specific requests or changes to your sandwich, forget it. As the teenager working there plops ingredients on to your sandwich you specifically asked him not to, he'll give you dirty looks for not having the same tastes as most of his customers. He'll give you more dirty looks when you ask him to remake the sandwich because you asked for no mayo, and the knife he's using to spread other ingredients/cut the bread was covered in an obscene amount. :( I was extremely polite and understanding of the errors (we're all human!), but he just kept being rude about it. I work in the food industry and every time a customer walks in I greet them and make sure they have a good experience. These two goof balls were just staring at me for a good minute without saying a word. Then they rushed me through the whole process which is very annoying and frustrating. I started my first sandwich and while I was explaining how I would like the sandwich the other guy says "and for the next sandwich" like damn can I get through the first one before we start the next one. I only got 2 and there was no other people in the store. Don't know why they rushed me, honestly pissed me off that they didn't toast the bread or even care about having somewhat decent customer service. Very disappointing I almost walked out halfway through them making my food. Food wasn't bad considering it's a sandwich but I won't be returning to this location. Please hire people who actually care about their job like high schoolers or college students , unlike these 40 and 60 year old men who are mad at life. WOW! I am amazed at how mediocre the food was. I remember the turkey avocado sandwich being far superior to what I had. My wife was very unhappy with her order as well. The staff was nice enough and the service was fine. My main issue is how much better a Subway sandwich is in comparison. Went there today for lunch (Monday). Depending on the day, they have different soups. There is a combo that you can do--1/2 sandwich or 1/2 salad with that day's soup. I had the meatball sandwich with the broccoli cheddar soup combination for $6.99 (or was it $6.49?). Totally yum. My friend had the chipotle roast beef sandwich with the southwestern chicken and green chili soup combo. Even more yum. Will try the hummus sandwich next time as I've been hearing good things about it, and its vegetarian. I have to say that their ingredients are quite fresh and juicier. my friend who is a food snob said this is the best roast beef sandwich he has ever had. We went around 1:30pm so the lunch rush was gone, but I can imagine if there was a huge rush, you may have to keep in mind that you might not be able to eat in (but I have never been there during the rush time so I cannot say for certain). This is by far the best Togo's out there. Every single person who works there is extremely courteous, friendly, and always smiling. No matter how many substitutions, or requests I make, they ALWAYS accommodate happily! They all look like they are having fun while working, and thoroughly enjoy their job. This is the only Togo's I will go to, and I do visit it on a regular basis. Also, the portions here, are huge compared to other Togo's. I could go on all day about how fantastic this place is. When others have said that this is the best Togo's out there, they are not lying. I went to Esperanza and started coming here for lunch sometimes. I live/work nearby, so this is the only Togos I really frequented for quite a while. It spoiled me. While other Togos locations serve the "same" items, it is not the same experience. As already mentioned, everyone working is so friendly. They recognize regulars, make friendly conversation, etc. I feel like I can eat there by myself and not feel "alone" because the staff is so friendly. Also, as previously mentioned, they are very amiable about special requests and substitutions. Even when they are busy, they manage to move their line quickly without making you feel like you are being shoved through an assembly line. Love this place! read more

Very underwhelmed. $9.95 for a large (9 inch) sandwich with way more bread than meat. That means when you eat it you taste way more bread than meat. I've never been a big fan of Togos and restaurants like it. It's usually been the recommend of a local unfamaliar deli that seems to lure taste buds because you can somehow call it home and that's your "cave of solitude". At least for 30 minutes to an hour if you're on a lunch break. In the foodie community it always seems like it has to be a place that no one's been to that often, but in the spirit of finding a great place where spectacular service lives and the food is prepared with great care, I have to give props when props are due. Service A++ 5 - Stars all the way Any day of the week I've walked into this place there's usually been a smiling face to greet me. Paul Christensen, the owner and manager of this Togos, knows just about every name that walks through his door. He always remembers my Endless Combo and doesn't hesitate to stop and greet me even if he's not the one serving me that day--that includes their rush hour. And his example rubs off pretty well with his employees. Food Quality A - 4 Stars I will never have ultra high expectations for these types of establishments, but this one creates a standard I wish other places like it would have. I give them 4 stars mainly because, while their food is great, the portions are not always consistent, but I also consider that there have been quite a few new workers there. For your consideration: Pastrami sandwich (hot or cold), Meatball sandwich, and the Chi Cha Chicken (a little drippy, but very tasty) Cleanliness A+ - 4.5 Stars There's nothing crude about this place. Not all TOGO's are created equal, this one is probably the best one I have visited. The service is always fast and friendly, the sandwiches here are just made better than other ones(maybe its in my head but perception is reality). I have been to other ones in the area and I have waited 15 to 20 minutes when the line was short but at this location they are more efficient, I am in and out of there in minutes even on days when the line was longer than other locations I have visit.
