After working today I quickly opened Doordash to order a sandwich to pick up on the way home. Thinking it would auto select the Togos closer to where I live, which is this location, it selected the one on Santa Ana Canyon road instead. I accidentally came to this Togos, on La Palma and Imperial, & waited to tell the male worker my name for pickup. He was very frazzled which was strange as there was only 2 other customers in the store and he had another worker assisting making sandwiches. Maybe a large order? Not sure. The woman on MY SIDE of the counter (1 of the 2 other customers) in regular clothes proceeded to tell me their Doordash orders weren't coming through. I said "ok, it shows mine went through and is ready." The man runs to the back and says he didn't get it. The young lady behind the counter asks if I ordered to the wrong store, I checked, and sure enough I did. Simple mistake. The woman in regular clothes next to me says "yeah that's why he looked so confused that your order wasn't at OUR STORE." In my head I'm like ok who are you do you work here? I said "Ok, should I call the other store?" And the woman who is not working but clearly seems like she is a worker there off duty says in a very catty tone "No you have to actually GO there, not here." I'm like ok, let me see how far it is (I'm fairly new to the area). The man working said it's not far at all it's by Target on Santa Ana canyon. I know where that is and my bad for not using GPS to lead me to the correct store; I had ordered to this store before & figured the Doordash location services would have picked the closer one. I said "Oh, that's not far at all, no worries! I'll go get it from there. Sorry about that have a good day." The woman next to me was now in my personal space as I was deciding to go to the other store & I left. SO UNPROFESSIONAL. The man who greeted me could have maybe looked at my order, offered to call the other store and transfer the sandwich to this store, or SOMETHING, but nope. I had to do the problem solving on my own. Whoever the woman was that decided to be a complete catty adult to someone at least 20 years younger than her: maybe do your work when you're on the clock only, not in your workout clothes. I will not be returning to this store, I'll drive the extra 10-15 mins to the Santa Ana Canyon location. This Togo's is a little older than the brand new one that opened up by my work a few months ago. With that being said, the place is still kept up pretty fairly, and as I have recently discovered by going to Togo's for the first time ever about a week ago (the one by my work), I absolutely love Togo's sandwiches. A million times better than Subway, in my opinion, and the prices are very reasonable. Another reason I love Togo's now is because of the bread selection they have over Subway and Quizno's. I am a bread nut and for them to carry a French bread type is awesome--they call it Dutch Crunch. You can get a half sandwich and salad which is plenty of food for most for only $6.49. I have no idea why this TOGO gets so many 5 star reviews... but it does. There's sometimes a wait (they can be a bit slow making sandwiches), and the parking is bad, but I really like this location. I came in the other day and while this cute white girl was making my sandwich, i thought to myself, I have never felt like somebody cared so much about what goes on my sandwich. It made me feel like my choices were massively important, even though I didn't really care because I always order the same thing on my sandwiches. She was very attentive, almost to the point of being inappropriate for making a sandwich (I'm kidding, sorta). She was reaffirming and gave me confidence about my choices- yeah, that's right, i want tomatoes on my sandwich. I usually get the turkey avocado on sourdough. I usually go for the 9" turkey avocado sandwich. It's pretty big, so I can eat half of it and save the rest for later. The salads are unusually good too. Going for the half and half is not a bad option if you feel like a salad. You won't be disappointed. Protip: You can park in that little section next to In-&Out. It looks like it's for In-&-Out only, but I didn't see any signs. read more
