Sourdough & Co in the YLTC is finally open!! Being in the YLTC and surrounded by other eateries and Bristol Farm supermarket, parking during peak meal times is challenging. This for me is the biggest problem for this location. Yes, there's a parking structure but it's "down yonder" and not convenient. The restaurant itself is on the small side with limited indoor seating. Orders are placed at the counter and brought to your table when it's ready. They also have a kiosk you can order at. My friend had been here a few times (without me!) and loves their clam chowder. She said it's so popular, she's been in before when it was actually sold out for the day! So she ordered more of that while I chose the smoked brisket sandwich. It was delicious!! The brisket had a great smoky flavor, the house sauce was delightful, and the bread was perfection. I wasn't sure if I'd like the coleslaw that comes on it so I got it on the side. I did end up liking it, but I'd order it the same way next time. While the workers were all friendly and helpful, it took a while for my sandwich to come out. My friend's soup was room temperature by the time my food arrived. Since this was my first time here, I'm not sure if this is their usual pace. I guess I'll find out at my next visit. Food is fine, nothing special. Plenty of better sandwich shops in the area that are far less expensive. Outside of that, this is my first and probably last visit. 4-5 kids working behind the counter, no one to take your order. They have one machine where you have to complete everything yourself, even grab your own cup on the other side of the counter. Best part is when you go to pay, they hit you with the tip options, it's like you have to be kidding me. I feel like I'm one step away from having to make my own sandwich. Ppl behind us were ready to leave as well. As others have said, service was slow compared to pretty much any other sandwich shop I have ever been too. Visited on a Tuesday around 2pm, so no excuse for a crowd -- the place was empty and there were 3 staff on shift. Plenty of seating available. Ordered a 6" Turkey with pesto. Despite the lack of customers, it took 15 minutes to get my sandwich made. The sandwich itself was fine -- nothing special. The bread was honestly the best part. Everything else was just okay. What really stood out was the price: $16 for a 6-inch sub is steep, especially given the wait time and an empty store. I decided to redo my post out of fairness to the owner, who may not know what is occurring at the Yorba Linda Sourdough and Co: My son was encouraged to apply here by my father in law who met a lady saying she was the owner of three of these shops, who recommended he apply. He applied on line in late June and has brought in his resume two times to a female identifying as the manager. For the past month he has been following up in person and on the phone and is always told they are busy regardless of the time of day or day of the week. He has also been told by someone identifying as a manager (young man) he will be getting a phone call to schedule an interview for the next week. When the next week comes the same cycle occurs again and again by both the female manager and young man who is a manager. This has occurred for the entirety of July. He is looking for employment and ALL OTHER businesses he has applied did NOT take this long to follow up and would give him a definitive answer as to whether they are hiring or not, or schedule an interview. Not sure why he was mislead. In review of the numerous one star posts, it appears that the common grievance is that there are long waits, and wrong orders. Per the owners response to the grievances he states they are looking to hire more staff to mitigate the long lines and correct orders. It would appear that more staff is an area of need. The owner is indicating they are hiring staff, yet those who are applying and following up are being told that interviews will be scheduled soon or told they are too busy without getting any context. I am confused as to why a solution to a noted problem of being understaffed is not being solved by hiring more staff and Why applicants are not given a definitive answer as to whether they are hiring or no longer hiring? Telling an applicant who is actively seeking employment interviews will be scheduled next week is indicative of a potential opportunity. Or for that matter why interviews cannot be scheduled at all. In speaking with my son who had encouraged his friends to apply with him to this business, they are having a similar experience of being told it is busy and then told interviews will be scheduled the next week. It is OKAY to not be selected for employment, but NOT OKAY to be lead on for over a month. Is the owner aware this is occurring to new applicants? There needs to be a better system in place to communicate with them and there needs to be definitive answers to the applicants. I know there was a message sent to me, but it was deleted when I went to respond. I would like to know why new applicants are being treated so poorly by a business that is in need of more staff. Or bring it to the attention of the owner how his current management is mishandling and misleading new applicants. As much as I want to patronize new businesses within the community and as delicious as the menu looks, I wouldn't eat at or recommend eating at an establishment that mislead my son about employment and many other potential applicants. In addition, caution to anyone who is going to apply here. I hope their experience is better and they don't get mislead and treated so poorly like he did. read more

I returned to Sourdough & Co this week to try something different on their menu. I chose the chicken artichoke flatbread. It was so good!!! To date I have found nothing that wasn't excellent. We came to try sourdough's Friday night. It's a very nice looking store. We agreed you can either give the order to the person at the register or they do have a kiosk. To fill your order, my wife and I shared an 8 inch turkey with coleslaw. She had a small side salad. The sandwich was very good. The coleslaw was good. I tried one of their macadamia cookies a little bit too sweet and dry. There were quite a few people in there at the time I believe there just getting there feet under them so it's kinda hard to actually give a really good review so I will have to come back and try it again and see how that turns out. read more

Don't come here unless you expect to wait 30+ for two sandwiches and that's only if you also plan on asking them where your order is so they realize how late it is. Also, be prepared for the owner to give excuses about "getting there feet wet". Heard that twice while standing there waiting for my late order. Also the price! It's $12.99 for a sandwich? Honestly cannot believe what terrible service we received. We walked in on a Thursday at 7:30, and didn't get our food until 8pm, right at closing! All we ordered was two simply sandwiches. No modifications. Three workers couldn't take our order, so all the customers had to wait in line for one kiosk. The three workers were talking about their schools and personal life, fixing their hair and hanging out. After about 30 minutes we received our food, which was not hot, barely warm. Welcome to the Neighborhood Sourdough & Co! We've been awaiting your opening in the Yorba Linda Town Center! We went today during the soft opening. It's their very first day. They are definitely still working out the kinks and I know things will be smoother with time. For example, when we ordered, the very nice gentleman helping us told us our order would take 20 minutes. It took around 45 minutes. We ordered a Large Greek Salad, an Italian flatbread and a Kids meal which is a sandwich or Mac & Cheese plus apple sauce and milk/water. For the Kids meal we selected a turkey sandwich and requested it on sourdough bread which they were happy to accommodate. (It automatically comes on a wheat bread if you don't ask). My little guy really liked his sandwich but it did have A LOT of mustard. Not sure if we need to ask for light mustard next time or if this is one of the kinks they will work out. For now, I'd suggest asking for the mustard on the side if you are particular about how much mustard is on your sandwich. Our flatbread was really surprising. It was SO delicious. I would definitely get again. The Greek Salad was fresh and I liked the crispy vegetables. It had this very fatty ham on it and I did not enjoy pulling the large fat pieces off the meat part. I would not have expected the ham to not be lean but I will just order no ham next time. I will be back and I would highly recommend you check out Sourdough & Co! Have been wanting to try this since it opened about a month ago. I saw the reviews which said the service was slow and the team didn't provide good customer service. Well that was far from true. We were greeted when we entered, though you order on a kiosk, I had dietary restrictions and the female staff member was kind enough to help me order on the kiosk and checked the ingredients book to make sure. Came in on a Saturday around 4pm. It was a little busy but nothing wild. The Staff was friendly + appears the owner was around when we were and was very nice and constantly asked people how their meal was! I appreciated that. We got the cranberry turkey (6in $14) which was okay, I thought the cranberry sauce would be a little sweeter. It really didn't taste like anything in my opinion. We also tried the smoked brisket sandwich (8in $19) which was divine! I just don't understand how a sandwich can be that much.. I don't even think at an actual bbq place we would pay that much.. The Mac and cheese wasn't really giving anything either. It tasted similar to one from Vons/stater brothers. Overall we paid $41ish dollars for 1 sandwich combo (chips, side + a drink) and one sandwich only. I think it's a little too pricey in my opinion for what you're getting. When I went it was during the soft opening so my review has to do with just general organization of staff and just the cafe in general... Unfortunately as many others have stated, service was obviously very slow due to so many people coming in, but my thing was how UNTRAINED and uncomfortable a lot of their staff looked. As someone who has worked several retail and fast food places, training was always a priority and ensuring things were known procedurally... When i came in, it was unfortunately VERY packed and the line for mobile orders and in cafe ordering were approx. not even 5 feet apart, causing others along with myself to be shoved by the soda fountains... As far as staff, when I went was majority females (and that's perfectly fine), and one guy in the back area... the girls were scrambling and trying to get recipes for their orders down as they were working on them. Food was okay, just probably not worth the $33 I paid for sandwiches smaller than what Jersey Mikes or Subway offers. I'm unsure if I'll make a come back unless I hear staff is organized and trained properly. read more

I had never been to Sourdough & Co and I wanted to support our local business so I went there around 1:30pm on a Friday to get lunch to go. There were a few people waiting for their orders. I stood by the counter but no one came to take my order. Then a man came to tell me to place the order myself at the kiosk. I ordered a smoked brisket sandwich with coleslaw meal. I waited about 10 minutes for my food. There was no coleslaw and the young lady didn't give me a cup for my drink. I asked her about the coleslaw, she said, "we ran out." No apologies, no offer of any alternatives. I asked her what I could get since I paid for the coleslaw meal. She just said I could have a cookie or a bag of chips. It never occurred to her that I paid more for the coleslaw meal! Then I had to ask for a cup for the soda. I didn't bother with napkins. The sandwich was just okay, nothing special. They forgot about the extra BBQ sauce I ordered, too. They could tell I was waiting for my sandwich. They didn't bother to tell me that they ran out of the coleslaw. Providing good service was definitely not on their mind. With the mediocre food and the poor service, I will not go there again. read more

This place has people placing their own orders on an iPad which takes FOREVER!!! But what takes even longer is the wait for a sandwiches. 30+ minute wait for 2 sandwiches is ridiculous. Good sandwiches and yummy bread but the service is extremely slow. You could bake your own sourdough bread faster than the people here can assemble a sandwich. My wife and I tried this for the first time today. The owner helped us and explained how all the sourdough bread is baked fresh when orders are placed...the bread itself takes about 3 minutes to bake. I had the French Dip and just switched the Swiss cheese for Mozzarella that I love. My wife did the turkey with cranberry sandwich. We also added a side of Mac & Cheese. We both very much enjoyed everything. Bread was wonderful and sandwiches were very flavorful. Mac & Cheese nice and creamy. We'll be back soon to try other things on the menu. read more

I have been to Sourdough & Co in Orange - great service and food. Unfortunately, YORBA LINDA had the WORST service. When you enter, you are NOT greeted with any kind of verbal welcome. I had to ask "is anyone here to take an order?", "Do i have to manually enter my own order into the tablet". A female gestured with a yes and turned away. This was just the start of the POOR service. It took over 30 minutes to get our meal (no physical line on Saturday at 6:15pm. Plenty of people waiting for their orders. We only ordered 1 French dip sandwich and 1 Sourdough soup bowl with clam chowder. Over 30 minutes to complete, and we should have checked. Our French dip sandwich did NOT include the au jus dip. The food was okay. Unlike our ORANGE positive experience, I do NOT recommend YORBA LINDA if you want good service and food order completed within 10 minutes. Plus their PHONE does not answer nor take any voice mail message. Unless their management responds timely with an explanation (No manager available during our visit, only 3 workers behind the counter), I do NOT plan to return, nor plan to recommend them to ANYONE. read more

Holy cow! Came in for lunch with my wife on a Thursday. Restaurant was not that busy, but it took almost 30 minutes to get two sandwiches. Four employees and it seemed very disorganized. Anyone coming in during a work lunch hour will be leaving without eating. Both of our sandwiches were good. Bread was very fresh and restaurant was clean and inviting. The service here is unacceptable. I placed an online order and waited an additional 35 minutes for my order past the expected pick up time (a total of over an hour wait!). The warm sandwich was sitting there while I waited for my salad that they forgot about. There were multiple customers whom ordered after me and received their orders before. What is the point of online ordering if you don't honor the pick up time. 35 min past the expected time is absolutely ridiculous. Arrived today around 7:15 and waited about 20mins for my sandwich. I ordered the 4in Ham&Turkey sandwich and added avocado. I knew that the avocado was an additional $2 and was willing to pay, so imagine when I opened my sandwich to find 2 tiny slivers. There is no way that was 1/4 of an avocado. The bread of the sandwich was borderline burnt and the meat was thinly thinly sliced deli meat (not Jersey Mike Quality, more like grocery store prepackaged). There wasnt enough meat to even tell there was both ham and turkey. I paid almost $17 for a 4in sandwich, avocado and a soda. Also, there were a TON of employees but there was no one making sure the counters and the dining area were clean. In our area, we are so blessed to have amazing sandwich shops (Board&Brew, Campitelli's, etc) that really give you the bang for your buck. So unfortunately this shop will be a skip for me. read more

This was my second time here. I was patient the first time there, about 2 weeks ago. When again on a Sunday. The 3 female employees were super nice and working as hard as they could. However, the place was busy and I waited 30+ minutes for my order(not counting the time to order). While waiting the line grew longer and at least 5 different customers walked in waited to order and then walked out. Although I do like their food I will probably never return . The employees again were super nice and I commended them for their hard work. But shame on the owner for not having more help or even being there to support his team!
