We stopped in right when they opened on a Saturday, were the only customers in the establishment, and both my husband and I agreed it overall wasn't a good experience and we won't be back. The good: The people working at the counter were very friendly and welcoming. We took a while to order, and they were patient and courteous. They gave our kids free little light up chick toys that they absolutely loved and kept them entertained while we waited for our food! The bad: - The reason it took us so long to order was because they were seemingly out of half of their menu items. Everything we wanted to order was out of stock, so we settled on boneless chicken with fries and chicken gyoza - Something very important to note is that they primarily serve dark meat for the boneless chicken. Dark meat can have a pink/red color even when fully cooked. We had several pieces that looked so red that we didn't feel comfortable eating them because it just looked unappetizing how red it was and I didn't feel fully certain it was cooked because I don't carry around a food thermometer lol. But no one in our party got sick, so I assume it was cooked? I honestly don't know. -When we arrived, they were playing very loud, very explicit hip hop. I love hip hop myself and it would have been fine if our kids weren't with us, but with kids it was just kinda weird to be listening to very explicit lyrics at 10 AM lol. We ate a late lunch at Tokyo Chick during the weekend. I ordered the fried boneless chicken bento ($18.73 after tax). You order at a kiosk, and the cashier provides you your meal on a tray at the front. You can check in on Yelp for a free nightlight or dessert. My food came to me quickly (about 5-10 minutes). The bento gives you vegetables, pickled vegetables, an egg, one piece of gyoza, and rice. They spread the sauce on the chicken, but I wish they cooked the chicken with the sauce to give it more flavor. The chicken still tasted very delicious with its tenderness on the inside and savory breading. The bento portion is large, but one little thing I noticed was that although they add pickled vegetables, you can still serve yourself the same thing. You can also get your own sauce to try out different flavors. The ambience is definitely cute. They have Tochi in front of their restaurant for pictures. I love how its expression is just a blank stare. As for parking, they don't validate. I parked at the Paseo Colorado for $12. The antique shop nearby validates for 90 minutes. Big back foodies alert!! This establishment has the most incredible portion sizes for the price I've ever seen. My friend and I came for a meal because we were starving after some shopping in Old Town. Our requirements? Quick, affordable (after spending all our money shopping, hah), and filling - and yup, Tokyo Chick met our requirements. With my Yelp check-in, they gave me a free dessert (mixed jelly)... this was so yummy! Thank you! Wings were of good size and incredibly delicious... it was crispy and had a good crunch... it did not have that oily taste whatsoever. Chicken was moist, but I noticed most of the bones were already broken in half when I took my first bite. Taste was good, but if it was put together better, it would have been better. 2 stars Curry Chicken Bento Box - saved this one to eat the next day. It was good the next day and a decent size. Great spot for a quick bite. To start off, the location of the store is conveniently on Pasadena's Main Street of Colorado! It's a small shop but just look for a giant chicken costume attached to a tree, you can't miss it! The store is just a storefront and does not have their own parking. You'll either have to park in the residential area, street parking or the parking structure right across the street. Once you step inside you'll be greeted by a staff in a chicken costume (super fun) and you'll notice that the walls are plastered with deals, QR games (for discount codes) as well as their chicken mascot all over. There's a few tables you can sit on and you can also sit bar style against a wall. From my picture, you already know how crunchy and crispy the chicken is going to be! I ended up getting a 12 piece garlic soy chicken and it was more than enough to fill 2 people (the pieces were pretty huge). The chicken was moist, crunchy and flavorful. The fries that came with it was also crunchy and did not get soggy even if it sat out for a while. They have a sauce bar in the side next to their soda machine. Don't skip out on the sauce bar, you get to taste all the different flavors they have in the menu. I was very impressed with the packaging -- a heavy-duty, premum hard shell deluxe box with 5 pieces of chicken inside. Then came the taste test, an unfortunate fall from cloud 9. The batter is very crispy but very thick and oily, so that each bite gives you about 60% chicken, 40% batter, and a mouthful of oil. (After the 2nd piece, I just ate only the meat inside.) Moreover, the chicken meat, though juicy, has an odd gingery taste (the same exact flavor profile as the now-closed "Tokyo Fried Chicken" in Monterey Park) which is definitely an acquired taste. Kudos for the upbeat, funky dining room decor. I will probably come back to try their katsu bento and sandwich (but not their bone-in chicken). Japanese fried chicken does not have to taste so odd. I've seen this place many times because it's just adjacent to fogo de chao. A friend of mine wanted to try it, and everything was just disappointing. Parking in Pasadena isn't convenient. There's no street parking outside of it, nor do they have one. There's a paid parking structure by S. Marengo Okay, so now for the review....place is small, but they have a few tables for dine in. They have weird flavors, so 2 people in our group decided to try it, and they did not get to finish it. We threw it away when we got home. So me and my friend and I got the safer choices such as original and garlic flavor. It was so oily to the point that it'll get rid of your appetite. We paid a lot for our orders but it was such a waste. We went to another restaurant just to eat an actual meal and get rid of the oiliness we just ate. Overall I thought this place was very good. We had the signature crunchy wings and the soy garlic drumsticks combos. The combos come with potato wedges and a soda. The wings and drumsticks were really meaty, it was more filling than I thought it would be. The fried chicken has more batter and is more crunchy than other places. The chicken was pretty crunchy on the outside, but tender on the inside. Both flavors were really good. The soy garlic was sweet and savory. The crunchy was very good by itself or with the various dipping sauces. The service was excellent. The dude that took our order was really helpful. I'd definitely come back here again. read more

Awesome little spot in the middle of Colorado shopping street. I got the bento to try and loved it! The chicken was crispy and moist. The sauce options are great; they also have other sauce on the side if you want to get the original and have a bunch of different dipping sauces on the side. The side dishes are all delicious; the bento also comes with a choice of drink. I got the strawberry lemonade in a cute clear can. I also got a tamago spam musubi to try. It was yummy but a little expensive for what it is ($4.50) Overall this is a great place with decent pricing. Food is fresh and made to order. The service is great; the staff is very nice.
