I've debated with myself whether or not my experience is even worth a review and tried to rationalize it with buddies who are car salesmen. I figured since I put so much time and effort into researching BMW, I could at least put a fraction of that into a review. My mother and I were at BMW looking to test drive a 2024 X3/X5. We made it clear we weren't buying today and weren't ready to buy, but were in the market and test-driving our options--being proactive. It was almost verbatim the first thing out of our mouths. The salesman said that was all good, brought us inside, sat us down, and proceeded as car salesmen do. We discussed inventory and started going through the motions to drive a vehicle--ID, keys, etc. First, he wanted her to sit in each one (X3/X5) to determine which she preferred, size-wise, before the test drive. Then, after sitting in the cars, and out of nowhere, he said we couldn't test drive unless we were going to buy. He said miles are a big value factor for a car, and if we weren't ready to buy, we couldn't test drive. We could only test drive the exact car we wanted and were ready to buy. The 180 in mood was as if he smelled a fart or we insulted a child. How are we supposed to know if we want to purchase a car if we can't test drive it? Aren't you supposed to, y'know, sell it to us? We're in the market! We are looking to buy! It was perplexing and, unfortunately, a great waste of everyone's time. My friend who is a car salesman says that while it's frustrating when people aren't buying today, it's nonetheless part of the process and still important to provide good service and set up future deals. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt to our BMW salesman. From his standpoint, perhaps a fair point. Maybe he thought we were a waste of time--except for the fact they were so slow, he and other salesmen were sitting outside waiting around. From the consumer standpoint? Asinine and a botched attempt to strong-arm us. You mean to tell me we can't put two miles on what was a loaner? What better way to help us narrow our choices than to turn us away? The car is for my mom. She is currently the owner of a GV70 and looking to go elsewhere. She has a perfect credit score and driving record. She will not be buying a BMW. She has test driven multiple Genesis models, the Audi Q5 and SQ5, the Volvo XC60 B5 and T8, and--after our experience here--the MDX A-Spec. After one of my oil changes the engine locked up and the service department said there was slug in the oil. Mind you all services were on time. I bought both my cars a while ago from this place so now I visit for maintenance and trouble shooting. I just really enjoy how they listen, take care of me and do their best. Last time I visited, I came in for an oil change, two tires and alignment but they found some problems with my battery and I had to stay several more hours. It was a pain but wasn't there fault. In fact, had they not been so thorough they wouldn't have found the freakish defect in my battery. I'm super grateful because I was heading out for several road trips and that could have been a nightmare. The woman (I'm going blank on her name right now) who helps schedule repairs and maintenance is wonderful. She does whatever she can to help and make your stay comfortable. She checks on you and makes you feel ... like you are being taken care of.... I also want to say, that anytime I've need help with air in tires or a quick swing by because I had trouble programming something; either she or a staff member always pops out to give me some quick attention. I am giving it two stars ( instead of 1) since I liked my service advisor Tucker. We brought our car in for routine service and were told we needed an expensive repair . Total repairs were $3550; most of which was labor. My husband reasoned that we don't want to trust the car to some fly by night place so we have to pay BMW rates for their expertise. We noticed a burning smell the day we picked it up and were told it was normal. By day 3, my husband noticed the "add oil" light and had to pull off I95 to add a quart of oil. The rest of the really expensive oil BMW had just put in is on our garage floor (thank you Tom Bush). We called the service rep and he was able to get us a tow and a loaner delivered, but since the car was a "bring back" on a Friday afternoon- they couldn't look at it until Monday. I heard from them Tuesday that it was a missing exhaust vanos seal (technician error) and that it was all fixed. I asked Tucker (who asked his manager BJ Scott) to refund some original labor costs for the job since this exhausted so much of our time (most of Friday in and out of work, loss of our car for 4 days). The Service manager said no, offered us nothing and told us they fixed the problem they created and that was all they needed to do. He said "It was an honest mistake by their tech". I agree, Ive just never had a company ask me to eat their mistake. After I pushed back- they offered to detail the car. Bottom line, we paid (A LOT) for their time and labor, and they simply don't value ours. FYI Tom Bush, we work too. Our missed labor hours matter - and when you can't get to work or keep getting pulled out of work to deal with dealership mistake, maybe you shouldn't just tell customers to eat it. We purchased a 2024 X7 m60i from this location and had a very pleasant buying experience (John was our Client Advisor). We walked in, found what we wanted within 15 minutes, and paid cash for the car. We are impressed and extremely satisfied with the functionality, technology improvements, performance and quality of the vehicle. However, when my husband and I were detailing the car, we noticed a cut/slice in the leather on the 3rd row seat arm rest. I returned to the dealership and John brought it to the attention of the service manager (Ken). He was incredibly rude, and dismissive of the issue. He immediately made his own assumptions, and accused me of causing the defect. I informed him that the 3rd row had not yet been sat in by anyone, nor had the seats been folded flat or hauled any items since our purchase...therefore, the defect was never apparent/visible (hidden by the 3rd row seatbelt). Furthermore, he stated it wouldn't be covered/repaired under warranty (although I purchased the Platinum level additional warranty package-he never even inquired about this). Needless to say, I was disappointed by this "first impression" of the service department. Customer 1st??? It DEFINITELY doesn't meet the high standards and quality of customer service BMW boasts about and is known for. It's been a week and I still haven't received a reply or a resolution. Upon doing my own research to inquire about other instances of this issue, it took a 3 second google search to find several BMW reports of IDENTICAL defects in the exact same location of the vehicle....noted cause: PDI (pre-delivery inspection). We are currently looking to purchase another BMW SUV (for our daughter), but it's doubtful that we will return to Tom Bush for the purchase. read more

while at the dealership and seconds after I get the oil change that's covered under the 3-year $225 warranty I paid for, the right brake lamp malfunction light comes on immediately after I cranked up the car to leave the dealership. Chad "reviewed camera footage that another service person said would take 24hrs to pull up" & talked back & forth with "Sheila Estes" who is said to be the manager & decides the light just "went out" & needs to be "replaced." It could very well have been replaced at no cost to me, however, due to the fact that when I brought my vehicle in, my brake light was not malfunctioning. Chad offered to wash the truck after the oil change and then it malfunctions and no one's at fault. Poor management, poor labor skills as well of an oil change leads to a brake light lamp malfunction. read more

My partner's BMW broke down, a local mechanic told us that the issue was covered under a recall. We called the dealership who told us that this was true and that if we towed the car there, we would get a free fix. Upon towing the car there I was assigned to the service manager Brian Noell. From the start, Brian was extremely angry yelling at me that there was no recall for this issue. Brian acted extremely unprofessional yelling at me several times refusing to even look at the car unless we were to pay $1,100. I will spare all the details here but Brian made me feel extremely unsafe and uncomfortable as a woman alone. When we were finally able to speak to a manager, we were told that there was not a recall for this issue but an extended warrantee which expired on our car just a few months back. We had been incorrectly informed that they would fix this issue for free. If Brian had nicely explained this from the start we would have understood the miscommunication. The dealership is unwilling to apologize for Brian's actions and is not offering a satisfactory fix to a mistake one of their employees made. I would not recommend taking your car here to be worked on. If you have to take your car in for a recall ( and BMW has SO many) I would get it in writing from a manager that they will indeed fix the car for free before wasting your time. If you are a female I would make sure to bring a man with you because clearly, they have NO respect for women. read more

#Tombush....Recently took my 23' X7 in for the scheduled 20k service which I organized through the App. I typically like to organize this in advance so I receive a loaner and my car was sitting with 19k miles so not far from the 20k milestone. When I arrived at the dealership check-in was seamless and pretty professional however once I sat down with the service advisor things went downhill rapidly. First of all, I received an awkward silence No hello just what can I do for you today? Told him(cannot remember his name) just scheduled a service he walked out and checked my car came back and said the car was not eligible for service since I was more than 1,000 miles from the service point. I then told him I was just about to go out of town and end up returning way over the service miles and that I had never had this issue before. To this, I never received a reply just nothing so I grabbed my keys and left as I felt a bad energy and did not wish to engage further. The guy was not unpleasant just disinterested and I really just felt like I was really wasting his time and not a valued paying customer. Moving forward I have few options unless I service my car out of town as Jax only has 2 dealerships. I want to add that I did have my car serviced before with Tom Bush, at 10k this experience was positive apart from waiting for a specific lubricant for nearly a week that they did not have in stock and had to be shipped from Germany. They did provide me with a loaner and communication was ok. Ironically I never purchased my car from TB BMW either as both salesmen never returned my calls or seemed interested in finding me a car so I went to Tampa BMW instead where we received excellent service from Justino Zoppe. My first interaction was when I decided it was time to trade my 2011 335i for a used 440i. I knew exactly what I wanted. I called the used car dealership and asked the sales person if they could check their lease records for an incoming convertible 2018. This is how I purchased my previous convertible from the BMW dealership in Dallas. The sales person stated they had no way of knowing. A week later I found exactly what I was looking for at the BMW Sarasota dealership, negotiated over the phone and went to pick it up. Amazingly, when I was at the dealership, I heard a sales person cold calling customers to ask them if they were going to turn in their leases. Today, I had low tire pressure warning lights on my car and drove to the dealership to get nitrogen added to my front tires. The service advisor informed me they did not have nitrogen at their dealership and that nitrogen was a sales ploy to increase the price of my car. I don't buy new cars so his arrogant statement was not true. Also, the service advisor had no idea if I had purchased the car at Tom Bush so could possibly be contradicting his own dealership. Since it looks like Tom Bush has all the BMW dealerships except Gainesville, I will have to hope one of his other dealerships has better customer service for my warranty work. read more

I brought my car to Tom Bush BMW on Atlantic Blvd in Jacksonville, FL to get a factory recall repair and I have to say that this dealership is above the rest when it comes to taking care of their customer. While doing the recall repair somehow my radiator had started leaking and this dealership not only fixed the recall, but, they also fixed the radiator issue. Then soon after I got my car back I noticed a shudder in my transmission. I called the dealership and made them aware of what was happening and they went into overdrive to help me. They explained how these cars are known to have an issue with that after 100,000 miles and they knew the remedy also. They took my car in that had 103k on the odometer and placed it on the lift, installed some product recommended by BMW and they problem was solved. I couldn't be happier with the entire service staff. I met the service director BJ and he was the most knowledgeable person I ever met when it comes to BMW's and after everything was completed much to my surprise, they didn't charge me anything. They stand behind their work until everything is completed and if something goes wrong while doing the repair they fix it at no charge to you. When bringing your car in for servicing trust can often be an issue, but, this dealership is a leader when it comes to trust and in this day and age that is hard to find. I also had the privilege of meeting the dealer principal Megan Bush along the way. My summary is as follows: You can 100% trust Tom Bush BMW with your car repairs. They stand behind their work. They won't try and upsell you on items you don't really need. They are professional in every meaning of the word and they are not satisfied until you are. Plus, when they are finished fixing your car it comes back to you cleaner that you took it to them as they wash your car before returning it to you. They also provide free snacks while you are waiting. Because of my total experience I give this dealership 11 stars out of 5. So I took my BMW to a repair spot closer to my home due to our BMW being out of warranty and the previous bad experience. The place I brought my BMW said I had a bad starter and a bad auxiliary battery (it is a hybrid vehicle). I called BMW because the auxiliary battery had recently been replaced. When I called they told me the battery was under warranty. I had the place I brought it to replace the starter, and made an appointment with Tom Bush to get the battery replaced (under warranty). When I brought the car in I was very specific, the auxiliary battery is bad. We were told it would be $189 to test the battery... okay. When we received the report, we were told we needed an "auxiliary charging module" which would cost around $500, and the diagnostics, around $500... okay. My fault for not looking deeper. When the vehicle was done being "repaired" our service advisor called and said the starter isn't working... what? we just had it replaced. He said our vehicle would operate fine in electric mode, but the starter would not engage to get the motor to start. We were basically sent home with a broken vehicle. Brought it back to the place we originally sent it to, only for them to tell us the starter isn't engaging because the battery is bad. Back to BMW......they finally owned up to the battery being bad, and "gave" us a new battery....a battery we were originally we were told was under warranty , otherwise I would have never gone to Tom Bush. I talked with Sheila and BJ and expressed my concerns about being charged for a part I didn't need, and being way overcharged for the diagnostics ($500) that didn't even tell them my battery was bad, despite me coming in and saying it has a bad battery. BJ and Sheila assured me they would send all info to an engineer and let me know exactly what was wrong, and that the parts/ services I paid for was necessary. I was told I would hear from them within a few days to rectify the situation. We heard nothing. Nothing. No call back, no text. My wife called Sheila today and did not receive a call back. Instead, she received an email saying BJ is out of town, and he will answer our questions. We put our complaints on yelp, and were told to call Brian Bush, VP about our concerns. We did. No call back. In summary, Tom Bush has priorities. Customer service is at the bottom of the list. I won't use them again, and please, learn from my mistakes. Don't use them.Ever. read more

Well, today my check engine coolant level light came on, so I drove straight to Tom Bush on Atlantic Blvd (after working 10 hours) and the service guy tells me it's normal to have to top them off because of the TwinPower Turbo. Never mind that this is my FOURTH time since owning this 2019, that I've had to inconvenience myself to go by the dealer. Just 3 months ago, on 8/26/19 the car was in their service shop for a leak in the expansion pump which they supposedly replaced. Well, now it needs more coolant. They topped it off today and said you can bring it back Monday (the earliest date available). I let Devin, the service rep whom I'm not impressed with, know that I would be leaving Tom Bush reviews online -- they don't care, but this is my review. The service advisor was professional and my oil change took less than hour. I like the video inspection link. On my was home I received a cold call from Used Car division about upgrading my 2016 X3 35i for a 2019 X3 M40i (lease turn-in). I was interested and came back the next day to test drive the car. It was a nice X3. Unfortunately the manager was unwilling to negotiate. The salesman tried to push me for a larger down payment yet the dealership wouldn't come off a dime on a the list price. Highly unlikely I will buy a vehicle used or otherwise from Tom Bush with the Non-negotiating tactics. Needless to say the 2019 X3 M40i was left at the lot. Brianna, Tom Levander - Used Car Manager is the non-negotiating sales manager. It is doubtful I will be contacting him unless he changes his negotiating style. The salesman took the initiative to contact me and Tom killed the deal. No one wins with this type of negotiation. If there was movement off the list price I would have been willing to come up in what I was willing to pay. However one sided movement on my part is unacceptable. it is a nice car and I am sure someone will purchase it at the list price. It just won't be me. The service dept at Tom bush leaves a lot to be desired. The problem is there is no alternative in jacksonville so they don't seem motivated to improve service. I took in car for a driver assistance issue and got the car back with the exact same problem. unfortunately it's not easy for us to take the car in for service (especially a second time for the same issue). we understand the price of BMW is very high but I wouldn't mind if I though I was getting good value. you expect service dept to be taking care of you and you don't get that feeling from this group. read more

This BMW dealership was simply "okay", right until the point that I had a problem. Communication is not always the fastest, nor are they clear in communicating efforts. Often, my car would be estimated to be ready by the end of the day, but usually would roll over into the next day. This wasn't an "issue" to the service advisor since I had a loaner vehicle. However this particular instance caused me a great inconvenience in which no one in the service department seemed to care. I received no updated on my vehicle until 5 pm- when Nina texted that the vehicle was ready (they close at 6). I texted that I would not make it in time and would bring the car the following afternoon- after my meetings on Saturday. Their google page clearly states that they are open until 7pm on Saturday and I arrived at 5:30- not to mention Nina's voicemail also stated they were open until 6. The employees in the showroom stated that I wouldn't be able to retrieve my vehicle after driving 45 minutes out of the way. The dealership is also closed on Sunday- so I wouldn't be able to retrieve my vehicle until Monday. Saturday night the tire pressure light came on and essentially there was a nail in the tire. Over $300 later- BMW refuses to give me vehicle back until I pay for a new tire and didn't seem to care that I had to borrow a vehicle to make it to work Monday- Wednesday. Run flat tires are absolutely terrible and I can't fathom for the life of me why luxury vehicles have chosen to go this route, but that's for another time. Immediately, I called BMW SOS/roadside who recommended to drive the vehicle if it was safe and to patch the tire- as the nail was right in the middle of the tire(not on a wall or side). I'm not a difficult customer, nor did I expect to walk without paying a dime but the lack of professionalism and sincerity is not what I expected from this dealership. As a business owner myself, I am highly puzzled in the way both the advisor and service manager handled the situation. If you expect class A service, this is not the dealership you can expect it at. Customer service, communication, and humility are all skills that this dealership clearly lack. I had a similar issue with Mercedes 2 years ago- they were completely understanding and made it right. Don't go to Tom Bush BMW. It's been more than 2 months since I purchased my car and I still don't have a tag or title. The amount of time I have wasted with them is well worth the drive to Orlando to go to a dealer with a competent staff. I drove in to Tom Bush with some minor issues, paid $200+ for some diagnostic fee, and literally left with more issues than when I arrived. How these places are okay taking your money without a blink of an eye knowing you're leaving their business worse than when you arrived proves how customer service is dead is this country.
