I called my service person Greg B, on Saturday after my car was hit. The staff there was very helpful, got me in touch with the tow truck folks and then to a rental car place. They didn't have to do this as it really wasn't their problem but they took ownership and got me back on the road! My service person Greg called me back and I explained what happened and where my car was towed to. These guys are a joke. After 10 years of servicing, and my mom signing for a second car, somehow some clown in the back forgot to put a spare tire back into the first car after servicing. Causing one hell of a headache towing the car once back home with a flat, because all the shops were closed, having to tow it again 2 days later since all the shops are closed, all while delaying the delivery of the second car for months, and I mean months... who the hell should pay 60k for such awful service, pick up your slack. I highly recommend staying away from this dealer, as for me I will never buy a Lexus, and for anyone that chooses to, would I recommend not buying it from this shop read more

I bought my car at Tom Wood Nissan but they struggled to do the maintenance on my car without issues. Due to their difficulties they sent me to Lexus. They have been great! No issues at all! Their service is wonderful and their staff is friendly. The only reason they get 3 stars instead of 5 is because their service advisors lie to try to upsell you. The only reason I came in was for a recall and a free oil change. I do all of my own auto work, so I know what needs to be done to my car. They told me that because I'm using conventional oil, I need to halve my oil service intervals from 5k miles to every 2.5k miles. Biggest load of bullshit I've ever heard. He even had a straight face when saying it. When I kept saying no, he kept explaining why it's necessary to halve the oil service interval or upgrade to synthetic oil. People look to their service advisors for advice on how to properly maintain their cars, not get ripped off. Shame on you for lying to your customers just to make an extra buck. read more

I went there at 7pm on a Monday evening because I was just starting my vehicle search, and I didn't want to do any negotiations. I was honest with the front desk woman (she was a young woman friendly and helpful) by telling her that I just need to test drive some of the different type models and get a feel for how they handle. I sat there a good 15min and she came back with some keys. She told me that she couldn't find any sales Reps to help me, so she was going to take me driving. Um, really??? I have nothing against the front desk woman, but being ignored by sales because I was looking?!?! Every other interaction was unprofessional and appalling for a luxury car dealership. I asked about the NuLuxe leather, and was told that it's a synthetic leather. I asked if they had any real leather in stock. I received an email telling me how great the fake stuff was and that it was even better than real leather. He ignored my original question!! After that, he wrote me another email offering his services. This email began "I was wanting to tell you..." I'm sorry, but I cannot work with someone who cannot speak proper English. How unprofessional. After that final interaction I went to Infiniti and bought a Brand new Q50. read more

My general philosophy is to praise publicly and criticize privately. However, after 14 days of beating my head against a brick wall, I am going public. "An experience like no other" is what this dealership advertises, and that is true. I have purchased probably 20 cars throughout my life, and this experience was by far the worst. We live in Chicago, and we purchased an LX through this dealership. Here is a sampling of what we experienced: 1) Telling me about a mandatory "safety feature" $379 charge AFTER the deal was done. Being many hours away, I specifically asked on the phone, "Tell me the final bottom line price of what we would pay for this car, including any paperwork fees, taxes, etc." I had this conversation with two different people. They gave me a bottom line number and only said that the specific taxes might be different out of state. I understood that. However, when we got to the final paperwork, there was a new $379 safety charge. ??? The salesperson said that this charge was added to all vehicles going out of their lot, and gosh, so sorry he hadn't told me. I said that it was too late to tell me about a charge at this point, and he said he would escalate to a manager. Hours went by. Hours. I had to raise a stink with the salesguy to get a mgr to call me back. Finally, Tina got on the phone and said she would waive part of that fee (for rear blinking lights) because the car was originally sold through them, and the original owner had paid it. I am still not sure why the theft registration was not also done originally and why I had to pay that, too, but oh well... onto getting the car. 2) My husband was already on his way on a bus to go pick up the car, and I had offered to pay for the car before he left, as I was sure they didn't hold cars. My salesperson said that he would look into how to do this remotely, and I said, "OK, but my husband is leaving Chicago to come get this car." However, when I talked with the manager, there was no hold on the car. Someone could have bought it before my husband's 5-hour trip! 3) We specifically asked if the back seat remote was there, and we were assured that all parts were there. When my husband picked up the car, however, there was no remote. What a surprise at this point. There also was not a wheel lock thing. My husband had it written into our contract that these would be shipped to us "tomorrow." It is now 13 days after "tomorrow," and still NO REMOTE or wheel lock!! I am resorting to posting to Yelp to get some attention on this. I have turned into a pesky caller to our original salesperson, who personally assured me that his service department was going to order this remote and that he would personally oversee that it got FedEx'd yesterday... no call, no FedEx, no remote. I am not going to give up, which is what I think they are thinking I will do. 4) Paperwork. What a nightmare. I get that it is more difficult to do an out-of-state transaction. Of course. I am not unreasonable. However, if you are going to want to sell out of state, you need to have your ducks in a row, or you need to stay on top of things more. We bought the car on a Friday. My husband brought back the paperwork for me to counter-sign, which I did. I sent it back Saturday. Days passed. No return envelope. More calls. More promises that it would be sent tomorrow. No envelope. More calls. Finally, more than a week after the paperwork was returned to them, I got mad, and that is what it took for our salesperson to "go the extra mile for me" and "personally oversee that I got my paperwork," which he did do. But then.... onto this kicker... 5) The paperwork for the title was not entered until all of this happened! Seriously. The application for the title went in way more than a week after the sale happened, and I think it only happened because I raised such a stink about our paperwork. 6) Hand-offs galore. This is a Dilbert cartoon operation in action. Whatever process Lexus is touting about this type of dealership being better should experience what I have. There is a web guy, a sales guy, a manager who is too busy or on her day off or on vacation (I have only gotten through to her once when I said there was no sale now - that got attention, but that's the only time), etc. ** Bottom line: I am still waiting for our remote and wheel lock to be FedEx'd. I am still waiting for the title, which I now believe has been submitted. It will be a long time before I look at our new car and not feel exhausted from the process of trying to buy it. This is not the experience that I have always received from Lexus dealerships. I am a fiercely loyal Lexus fan, and this dealership had a chance to earn future business from us, but never again. ** read more

Brought in my CT200h for warranty work in Oct-2014. The issue was a sticking armrest latch with a symptom of not being to re-latch and stay closed after opening the lid because the button would stick. Their approach was to lubricate rather replacing components. Eight months later and the issue has not recurred. Not too bad for warranty work which most techs don't really care for because the book rates are lower than if it were customer paid. Would trust them with future work. read more

I brought my Lexus here for service. About a week after I got my vehicle back I noticed the grill was broke and it had a large scratch on it. I was able to glue the broken portions but I was not able to fix the scratch. I know things happen, but you could at least fix what you break. read more

Luxury car experience? NO WAY. Was interested in purchasing a used Lexus so I visited Tom Wood as they are the only Lexus dealer in the area. Arrived at their location and tried to find a place to park, there were cars everywhere but almost zero customer parking. Finally found a place to park and started looking at the used cars and find there is only a very small selection of used vehicles and most of them are extremely dirty and showing blemishes on the exterior and interior....like they have never been inspected and detailed for sale....AND THESE WERE LEXUS CERTIFIED UNITS. I looked around for about 15 minutes and was never approached by anyone. As I mentioned there were cars parked everywhere with service vehicles parked alongside new cars and no way to tell which cars were for sale and which were in for service. The entire place looked like jumbled mess with zero organization. What a sad experience. I will be buying a Lexus soon, but will not be dealing with these clowns. I am sure they could care less if I buy a car from them or not, they have many dealerships and are probably making tons of money, but I can find no reason to spend my money here. read more

We purchased a car here several years ago and we still laugh about how shitty the salesman was. We were in the area for a baseball tournament and were between games so we decided to go look at a car we had been debating about getting for a few months. We drove up in my younger brother's slightly rusted truck that had seen it's better days after a decade of abuse. When we stepped out of the truck, wearing shorts and t-shirts the approaching salesman had a skeptical look on his face. He started to help us but as soon as we told him which car we were interested in (one of the pricier cars in the lot) he suddenly needed to leave to go help the people who just pulled in with a nicer looking car. He passed us off to one of the other salesmen who was lounging around inside the building. This lucky guy came out with the keys and let us take it for a spin down the road. As soon as we pulled back in, we wrote a check for the full price of the car and headed back to watch my brother play his next game. The look on the first salesman's face when he saw us get ready to leave with the new car was classic. That dumb bastard took a look at us and assumed we couldn't afford the car based solely on how we looked after a couple long days of sitting in the sun, watching ball games. We drove off laughing at that guy and made sure to tell the second salesman that he thank the first guy for the commission check. I wouldn't come here based solely on how rude and judgmental the salesmen are. Evidently you can't come here without wearing a suit and expect good service. If you're off work and dressed down, take your business somewhere that will treat you well because you're a paying customer, not based on what you're wearing. Recently took my vehicle in for a full detail including engine and to have the front seats re-dyed. The workmanship was excellent inside and out. Car looked great. It wasn't till the next day that I noticed my trunk wouldn't open, car alarm faint at best and the car would not lock. I dropped the vehicle back off at the Lexus dealership Monday and today I finally get a text from Lexus saying the door actuators are bad and no fault of Lexus. Well doors locked just fine and trunk worked as I got into it at the dealership to get acouple things out of it before leaving it for service. What a damn coincidence my door locks and trunk now not working. Not like i got a extra $1,200 in my pocket for these repairs that were never a issue until my car serviced. Just sad the dealership can't step up and do the right thing. Like $1,200 is gonna hurt their bottom line. Drop off vehicle, everything functioning properly. We walked in the Lexus showroom on E 96th St on 30th May for the first time to book an RX 350, which my husband wanted to buy since long. We wanted delivery on 27th June (our wedding anniversary)- Salesman there agreed to all our terms, and we decided to mail him filled form soon. We met him again on 4th June to book the car, we discussed loan option with Lexus Financial and he got a document with .9 interest rate fixed. But mentioned we have to take the car as soon as it arrives because he won't be able to keep that interest rate for long. We accepted provided his professional situation. We paid advance too. On 10th Jun, he mailed and on 11th Jun he made arrangement to pick-up car despite it being a weekday of both working parents. There came series of disappointments - Our Salesman seemed to driven by his supervisor Jeremy (hope I'm spelling it right) who was anything but nice. First, loan interest rate appreciated to 1.9. The reason stated that they can't give us May rate anymore. We already own a vehicle with that interest rate, had we'd been told, we would have made our arrangements for a loan. Salesperson shuttled between us and his boss 3-4 times. Then he said .9 is doable if we take 48 months lease instead of 60. We declined. We already have discussed all details with him. Next, my hubby asked for the advance back because of this unwanted discussion. For once Salesman even asked for his credit card to credit back the amount. Salesman again went to see his boss and returned with a solution of dropping car price by 1K to keep the monthly amount same as of .9 rate. My husband truly loves RX 350 and we wanted to add this to our family since long, so we accepted this option because we wanted to drive it home. Finally, we met the man, Jeremy. Next shocker he gave was refusing to accept the amount break-up we'd agreed with Salesman already between cheque and card. He was not even nice to our 5 yrs old son. He's the most unpleasing sales manager we'd ever come across. He ruined our entire mood of buying our new vehicle. There were just unpleasant surprises thrown our way on the day of delivery when all we wanted is to click some pics & drive it home smiling. So my dear Indy friends, in case are planning to buy a Lexus drive to Cincinnati or Chicago, avoid dealing with insensitive and unprofessional Sales Manager. I bought my Lexus ES 350 out of state 8 years ago. I have regular maintenance and only have 40,000 miles on the car. I took my car in recently for an oil change and two weeks later my car began to shake and I had a vsc light and engine light turn on. I took the car in and was charged 360.00 dollars to fix the car. I spoke with co workers that had similar problems with Tom wood delearship and was told by a mechanic that they can have the light turn on when they want it to come on. I am not saying they did something to my car to have my light come on just after I had oil change, but it seemed pretty fishy. I would steer clear of this dealership if you can go somewhere else. read more

We have purchased 5 vehicles at this store in recent years. We have watched the service model at Tom Wood Lexus decline. Today is it unrecognizable as Lexus service, relative to the past, and relative to the Lexus service model we are familiar with elsewhere. We do business with Lexus in one other city. No comparison here. The Lexus service model had been one of the key reasons we have repeatedly purchased from Lexus in the past. It no longer applies. It appears management is altogether indifferent. The general manager does not even have voice mail! He is not interested in hearing from disgruntled customers. We made a service appointment one month in advance, to include a loaner vehicle. Showed up at 8:05 AM to find no loaner available. We were sent to the rental agency, one hour later, we left in our own car. Lexus did not offer to take us home, and did not offer to come back and pick up our car later, to have it serviced. Nothing! If repeat customers are dealt with in this manner, why purchase and service vehicles here. Lexus standards of service and customer care are not met at Tom Wood Lexus. read more
