I ordered pick up last night from this place for the first time hearing about it from a co worker of mine. Unfortunately i didn't get any pictures of the food i ordered because it was devoured!! I ordered for a party and everyone kept raving about how good it was!! I got the Penne Bolognese and the Chicken Alfredo and it was very reasonably priced especially getting food for a party of 15+. I used to go to one of the Bay Area locations of Tomatina. I moved to Roseville almost two years ago and was extremely excited to see the pop up location of Tomatina. My boyfriend and I went today and had a late lunch. It was just as good as I remembered. The only thing I wish they had was a liquor license to have a glass of wine with my fantastic meal. The chicken piadine is by far my favorite meal at Tomatina. My boyfriend got a margarita pizza that was extremely good as well! The lady working was very friendly also! Only one word to describe the three dishes we got from here... bland. We had the spaghetti and meatballs, chicken Alfredo, and a Caesar salad. All lacked any serious flavor. The spaghetti and marinara reminded me of something I'd get from a high school cafeteria. The meatballs were definitely from frozen and seemed pretty low quality. The Alfredo was lack luster in any way and the sauce was kind of watery or watered down. The cease was the biggest disappointment... it had almost no dressing, I think the dressing was a watered down mayonnaise, not very authentic at all. The service wasn't great either. Maybe this place is known for their pizza, but it was a disappointing experience for us all around. This place fall into the category of "pretty good". The flavors are good....but could be just a bit better. The Caesar salad is tasty, but small for the price. The pastas could have a bit more pizzazz. The rolls are good, but would be better with a different dipping sauce other than a basic tomato sauce. TERRIBLE customer service. Greg? Craig? The manager- terrible! This place is expensive. We loved it when we lived in the bay. We drive 20 minutes to pick up our order. We got home and my piadine did not have the salad. So basically it was not a Piadine. Both the lady who answered the phone and the manager refused to refund the item. They told us they would remake it and we could drive another 40 minutes round trip to pick up. We go there every 1-2 weeks. It's expensive. Their AWFUL customer service has cost them our business. The whole meal and experience just sucked & we never went back. There was a couple that came to sit next to us outside & they asked for the heater. Dear Tomatina, I see what you're doing. You've got chef inspired dishes, locally grown produce, a great atmosphere, and you're bringing this 'Bay restaurant to the Sac-Area, but your multi-option menu was killing the mood. Here's the thing, I probably eat out 1-2x per week (all kinds of restaurants of varying quality), but what we locals expect are good old fashioned menus. You know, the tangible ones... Oh yea, you do have them! But it was like we were assumed to use our smartphone via QR code. No, it felt like you wanted us to order from our smartphone, then pay with our smartphone (yes, this is an option). That was way too confusing for our party of five. Next time, please just offer your clientele the menu up front, then offer the smartphone option (which we didn't like because our Millennial eyes and one retiree can't get it together). It makes it way too hard to price compare and we aren't college students! Now, on to the actually food.. I don't remember the actual names of our dishes mind you... Our calamari fritti starter was fresh and crispy. Salad with arugula, onion, and kalamata olives was delectable. Other orders included a zucchini pasta and turkey sandwich. Some meals are large enough for sharing, so ask your server. Price-wise it's a little high. I mean, this is the place you take your friend or family for their birthday. Or your date for homecoming. Roseville does need more restaurants like these. As someone who knows a thing or two about marketing, you'd probably get more customers if you lowered prices and raise revenue (thinking elastic demand here). First time trying this new "pop up" to go and I do like it. I got the calzone with salad. I choose sausage, roasted red pepper and mushrooms (the first 3 are included but you can add more items for add'l). The flavor of the sausage is good, there was lots of mushrooms and red peppers. The marinara is a thicker sauce. I got a side of pesto to try the sauce and add to the dish. It's on the heavier basil taste, but very flavorful. The salad was just that, mixed greens, but I liked the simple vinaigrette dressing. Light and simple. Will definitely return. Found this place as the restaurant before it was closed down. Decided to give it a try. We started with the garlic rolls. Way too doughy which they needed to be cooked a bit longer and it didn't help they sit in a puddle of olive oil. My wife got the cheese raviolis which she said were good. I got the chicken Alfredo. Tip for the cook...season your chicken. The chicken had no seasoning at all on it. Thinking the cook grabbed it from the fridge and threw it in the pan to cook. Tonight I had the rigatoni with meat balls, and it was really good!!! I've tried several dishes and all are good. I will agree with the other reviewers about the Cesar salad dressing - it is bland. You need to find out where University of Beer gets their Cesar dressing from, cuz it's really good. But I'm very happy with the rest of the food I get. And yea, never enough sauce, so ALWAYS ask for more. They do skimp on the sauce. read more

Walked in to a gorgeous layout and friendly staff that was extremely accommodating. The food was amazing, Pastas and Pizzas were our group favorite. Noteable parts of these dishes were: the pasta noodles as they maintained great texture, chewiness, and holds the sauce perfectly with each bite. As for the pizza, the dough really did it for me on this one. Soft and chewy just the right amount of crunch. You can't go wrong with any of the pizzas. Amazing staff, terrific food, great atmosphere. Everything you can ask for in a successful dinner for a big party. Will surely be coming back for another great experience! Loved Tomatino in the bay area and was thrilled when they opened this pop up in Rocklin. During height of the pandemic could order and sit outside or take home and it was fine. Had my first date with a new fella here in October and the restaurant's experience was nice, friendly wait staff, selection of food and wine all good. My experience last night, however, is why I am only giving 2 stars. My sweetie and I returned to celebrate our 3 month dating time for a special dinner. They've converted to contactless and paperless menu. They pay a wait staff to explain the process of using the QR code on the table to look at your menu and order. She says the only thing they left is off was ordering water and asked if we'd like some. We had to keep calling her back to ask questions about cocktails and such. While they do have a liquor license, they only make a handful of signature cocktails. We ordered a carafe of wine from the online menu only to have the wait staff come tell us they did not have that one in stock. She went to check what they did have and only 3 or 4 out of the ones from the menu were in stock. So we told her which one would be okay. She brought over a carafe and one glass. My date told her the carafe seemed very small compared to other restaurants and she said this is the size they have and it is about 1 1/2 glasses of wine. (Most carafes will equate to 2-3 glasses of wine). Another couple came in while we were there. They asked how the bill came if they each ordered from their phones and she told them they would combine into one bill because the QR code is specific to each table. If they wanted separate checks they would need to do something (I didn't hear the instruction). They commented that there should be a sign on the door saying "only millennials should enter because they will be able to fight this out". The food was really good (5 star) but when we go out for a nice dinner (and our bill was over $75 so I consider that nice), we want to have a real menu and order from a waiter. The music selection playing was also not conducive to a nice date night either. We will not return to this restaurant for a date might again after this. read more

Checked out the new Tomatina brunch and was delighted. I order the Eggs Benedict with crispy Prosciutto, traditional hollandaise sauce at just the right amount and seasoning on surprise! toasted focaccia, with a side of red potato. I added a bowl of fruit (strawberries and blueberries). A great Italian spin on eggs Benedict. The brunch menu looks wonderful and chef very talented. This was our first brunch but not our first meal at Tomatina. Only disappointment was no cappuccino or espresso or latte available. However, We have had lunch and dinner there and keep going back. The restaurant has an open setting with plenty of spacious seating. They can accommodate groups without crowding a party of two up against them. The bar area is equally pleasant. Overall, it's not a noisy setting that table conversation must compete with room excessive noise . You can get classic Italian or an array of tasty specials. No long lines and long waits to be seat. Tomatina is off the beaten track right by the Ethan Allen. But plenty of convenient parking. And a nice kids menu. Very comfortable place to enjoy a great Italian meal. read more

My wife suggested this place because she used to go to a location in Alameda. I was very impressed, (even though she usually recommends great places!) This place will definitely make you glad you came here, the food is amazing, and the staff are very friendly! Our server (I think she said her name was Ellen, sorry if that's wrong) was super cute (please give her special bonus brownie love points!!) and extremely friendly with us and the kids! She recommended their Ranch dressing witch is the absolute best I've ever had!!! We received our garlic bread (incredible) and kids order (macaroni, super creamy and amazing) first, witch was very smart, and then our entrees. I ordered a pizza and my wife ordered the Caesar Salad, the salad was huge! I helped her with that, and my pizza had a generous amount of toppings and was brick fired to perfection. I will definitely come here again and bring friends!! They are a little short staffed at the moment so PLEASE be patient they are doing such a great job with their incredible staff, they deserve every bit of recognition, and praise!!! read more

Made online reservations which we didn't need as there was only two people at the bar. You can't blame no staff to this review or service. Garlic appetizer rolls no taste to them, Caesar salad dressing was very plain no taste and was given to me after my dinner was served, two of the four dinners came out and then about 10-15 minutes later the other two dinners came out. Ordered the cheese raviolis which tasted frozen store purchased and my other guest ordered the spaghetti both had no taste you had to add salt and pepper to both and it still didn't cover the no taste. I didn't even ask the other two guests how their dinners were I didn't want to bother. The server was a little off as she gave one guests water that he already drank from to our other guests thinking it was just the water she placed on the table..... bill before tip was $120 not worth going back. Oh and only one other party walk in within an hour of sitting in the restaurant. Would not recommend if you want Italian food or any food. This restaurant as highly recommended by two people so we thought we give it a try. read more
