I was here the other day picking up an order. The place was busy and there was definitely a long line since it was dinner time. Unfortunately, the service was pretty horrible. I had been waiting for at least 30 minutes and my order wasn't even ready yet. After 30 minutes, I checked on my order and they told me it wasn't ready yet still. I had told them I had been waiting for 30 minutes already. I was told they were "backed up." No doubt it was busy, however there was no sense of urgency to get my order prepared or even to start it. This place was described as a Chipotle style restaurant but better and I wholeheartedly agree. The portions are generous and they have lots of base, meat, and topping choices to combine as a burrito, taco, salad, bowl, taquitos, etc. The chile verde and shredded beef are outstanding and their fresh salsas are legit. The person behind the counter preparing my food and the person adding the toppings were both lovely and polite. I can't say much for the cashier who was indifferent but our interaction was brief, so she didn't sour my experience. This place is great and I will definitely be back. So I decided to come back for dinner with my family and Stingy woman gave us a little bit of meat and gives me full on attitude when I ask her for more meat. Tries to fight me. Smh. Just a heads up, they cut a lot of things from the menu that is shown on yelp and don't have an updated copy of the menu yet. My boss was treating us for lunch today and i wanted a fish taco plate and my coworker wanted a tri-tip sandwich but they didn't have either of those. So i got what my other coworker got, carne asada nachos. They are delicious. Got the right amount of everything, salsa, meat, guac. I'm not usually a nacho person but this place is exceptional. The food is tasty. I'd say I'd give the food taste a solid 8 out of 10. Here's where I was disappointed; the temperature of the food was not great, not hot enough to make a 6 minuet trip home before it was cold, not just warm.... Cold as if it was sitting for 20 mins. That can be dangerous for patrons because of bacteria growth. . The portion vs price was also not great. They don't melt the cheese on their nachos even though they have a salamander. They say it's because of the plastic containers. They have metal pizza pans for the burrito prep, a piece of parchment or foil can solve the problem of constant washing and it would be no more labor than making a burrito. It just seems like a lost opportunity for their food to be even better. Anyway, that's my opinion. read more

Stop being so stingy with your salsa!! My family loves to pick up food here. However it is always like pulling teeth to get an adequate amount of salsa for the food. Today for example I ordered loaded nachos. I did not get salsa on it because one person in the family doesn't like it. Normally they pour two scoops of salsa on the nacho. I asked for it on the side and was give. Two tiny containers of it. I asked for more they said they would charge me. I questioned the fact you normally get two little one but they didn't put any on the nachos so asked for two more. Lady said no sorry "the man" does not allow it. This is just one example. So many good memories here of eating during college days! The value here is unbeatable and it's all absolutely delectable too. The only thing that makes me hesitate to come here is the calories but eating here once in awhile, that's no problem. This is my dad's favorite restaurant ever, he raves and rants about this place all the time (I think it's the value, the food, and the memories.) The line can be a little slow but the workers are friendly, which makes a huge difference in experience. My favorite is the super nachos full size. I can never finish it on my own in one sitting (2200 calories for maintenance) but the leftovers are always a bonus! The lime slices add so much and I'm really glad that they have those available. Run Forest Run.... Just avoid this place as fast as you can. Horrible service and terrible food. The lady that is probably the owner is very rude and mean. If they were friendly and nice they could actually make good business even with horrible food, you kind a overlook and give a nice person another chance. Wow first time here and I already want to go back for more! The food was so good! My wife got a burrito and I got the super fries. My wife loved the carnitas in here burrito. The super fries were awesome! I got them loaded with everything and asada and pastor for my meats. You can choose up to four meats. For our first time here this place really caught our eye and made us nice and full. Gentleman who helped us was very nice and was excellent at customer service. You can tell the owner takes pride in his food place because he was out there coaching his employees on how he wanted things done and how to treat the customer. I've been to this place several times. It's near the La Mirada house. I usually have one of their gigantic burritos. But today, I asked them to make me a chicken taco salad. It had mixed greens, black beans, Spanish rice chopped chicken, white shredded cheese, pico de gallo, and iceberg lettuce with chips on the side and drink. I ate a 1/4 of it and had the rest to go. Its been a couple of years since my first visit and honestly I dont think Ive missed much. I came in with my sister sunday morning because we came too early for Savers 50% off sale which is next door. Savers wasnt opened til 10am and Toms opened at 8am so we thought we'd kill time by getting breakfast. We came in around 9:45am. I got a breakfast burrito with sausage and my sister got her usual wet burrito. It took awhile for us to receive our food. We got our food around 10:20am and there was only one another table there with us. While the food was fresh, my burrito lacked sausage. It was there, but not noticeable because they packed the burrito with too much of the fillers: potatoes and cheese. My sister enjoyed her wet burrito, but her only option was green sauce since they said red sauce was not ready. I thought that was weird because when we came in they had already been opened for at least an hour and forty five minutes and its not a breakfast only menu in the morning so y'know I'd assume everything is available. The food is good. Even my breakfast burrito. But it could definitely be better. Maybe not skimp on the meat, thatd be nice. I didnt even finish it because I was tired of eating the fillers, I began to just dig for the small pieces of sausage. Service was fine. I tend to eat here at least once a week and I've never ordered anything and been disappointed. The price is right, the portions are generous, and the flavor of the meat is DELICIOUS. My go-to is the soft taco plate and I load it with all the fixings. I can never eat the whole portion, but I'm always satisfied. Tom and all his employees are so kind and friendly. When we went, it took 25 minutes just to get our order they were too busy doing online orders while we waited there in line. They now have a metal covering that covers the ingredients now. I asked for guacamole, and of course, they didn't put it in. I had that meta covering not been there, and I would have been able to catch their mistake. I've been here a total of 2x and I'm not sure how I feel about this place. They don't have melted cheese for their nachos :( so their nachos are a little basic. Their chips are good, meat is so tender, and they're very generous with the toppings. And guess what! GUACAMOLE IS NO CHARGE! :D if they had melted cheese on their nachos.. it would be so delicious! I just disliked how dry the nachos were because it was chips and toppings. Their tacos are good because of how soft the meat is. Hot sauce, guacamole, pico de Gallo and toppings in general are so fresh! Umm, not a restaurant I would be like advertising to my friends but I guess if you're in the area, give it a try. Not a bad place. Good selection of items. I like that u tell them what to put in your food and watch them do it. Got a California burrito. My only issue was that the meat was so greasy, it was dripping down my whole hand from the first bite to the last. It works like chipotle where you tell them what you want on your plate assembly line style. I love everything I've had so far. I've been going to Toms for years. Love the food. However since starting to order on Uber Eats, the order is almost never right. They also don't give you chips with your food. Which means you pay more for your food and don't get the same amount. It is up to their discretion if they give you chips. If you want to eat here, I suggest only going to Toms yourself to ensure your order is right and you get the complimentary chips. Since Covid they have been doing sales on the side of random other products and focusing less on the quality of the food. I've notice the chips are full of oil, chicken is burnt and avocado pits in the guacamole. Looking forward to getting back the excellent Toms Tailgate quality and service. Update, went back same sloppy service my burrito was not folded right and all my guacamole was on the outside of my tortilla.
