Tom's Tailgate is our new go to for Mexican food. Generous portions of delicious food. Helpful friendly staff. Clean space. We love this place. I tell everyone. I'm walking around town in their merch like a billboard. Gotta have the chips and loaded nachos!

Puffy tacos

One of my favorite Mexican style restaurants. I always tell people about the massive amount of good you get and it's all so good ! This time I tried something new I got the puffy taco plate and they were really good and very filling. I will be back again.

Half Size Nacho

Have been a craving for a while. They offer lots of options from loaded fries, nachos, and other standard fare. They have also made changes inside with digital menu boards and a bar with several hi-top tables. I had the half order of nachos which is plenty. The chile verde and shredded beef with habanero salsa. Yum ! So why three stars you ask ? The service was slow. I am patient and understanding but when I see a suboptimal processes and then people standing while you have a customer line 15 deep. Well not good. My opinion they kind of need to define what experience they want customers to have. Maybe take the order and then run the orders to tables. I am glad they survived the pandemic and I like the quality, but just need to tighten up the experience.

Welcome to Tom's Tailgate.

The best nachos ever! Thank you Krishna, Vidya and Ian for introducing me to this place! My only wish is that I knew about Tom's Tailgate sooner. Pros 1. Nachos are loaded and just the way I like with all the fixings 2. Portions is huge 3. Fair pricing 4. Chips stay crispy even though all the toppings sit on top 5. And most importantly, the taste is supreme! Cons None

Terrible nachos. Capital T terrible

Worst nachos ever. Cold cold cold never asked for onions or pico de gao or orange cheese ,,,barley any chicken or beans and it was all cold ,,, super disappointed

Crazy good drink prices!!

Been coming here for years and they never cease to amaze! Recently discovered how good their drink prices are! Definitely a good spot to watch the games!

2) Asada puffy tacos 1) Chicken puffy taco, 1) tri-tip taco!!!!

This place never disappoints. Just recently tried the puffy tacos, PHENOMENAL!! I had 2 asada, 1 chicken, and 1 tri-tip. Habanero sauce is the go to!!! The bad reviews for this place is simply confirmation that there are large populations of Karen's (both men and women) in this area. Been a day oner at Tom's and that won't ever stop. Service is great and staff has a great personality. The atmosphere is fun, and the new bar adds to it. Go check it out.

Are the beans vegan? Or what options are vegan friendly? thanks!!

I didn't even consider to think beans other than "vegan" if you wanna lable them? I wouldn't know how beans wouldn't be? Are there beans that aren't vegan?

Are there onions in the guacamole ? I'm dying to try their taquitos but I hate onions :(

There didn’t appear to be onions in the guacamole when I was there a week ago

Do they serve alcohol?

No alcohol served here

The idea was to enjoy my coffee while getting organized--paying bills, planning calendar events, and having the opportunity to focus without any distractions from my usual surroundings. In search of the perfect spot, I turned to Yelp, a reliable resource for uncovering hidden gems nearby. Upon stepping into the coffee shop, I was immediately greeted with warm hospitality, setting the tone for a delightful experience. The ambiance of the place was truly captivating--it was bright and welcoming, infused with an aesthetic charm that instantly put me at ease. I couldn't help but be intrigued by the design elements throughout the shop, which added an inviting touch to its overall atmosphere. Before I settled in, I asked the staff if I could snap a few photos to capture the essence of this delightful space. They graciously welcomed my request, and I was shown to my table, which, quite uniquely, was designated by a number--a small detail that I found charming. As I browsed the menu, I encountered a small conundrum: I wasn't entirely sure what to order. I wanted to break the mold and try something out of the ordinary. My curiosity was piqued by their exclusive offering of Café de la Olla--a traditional hot drink that piqued my interest right away. I ultimately settled on a hearty plate that included rice, beans, and enticing potato tostones, accompanied by two beautifully cooked sunny-side-up eggs. As I waited for my order, I noticed the café was filled with the sweet sounds of old-school music from the '60s and '70s, which only enhanced the cozy ambiance while I sipped my drink. Now, let's talk about the food! I must say, I rated the café itself a solid 4 out of 5 for its overall charm, while the rice earned a respectable 4 out of 5. The beans were rich in flavor and received a fair 3.9 out of 5. The potato tostones, delicately bathed in a savory red sauce, stood out with an impressive score of 4.3 out of 5--these are a must-try if you visit! And as for the sunny-side-up eggs, they were good, but hey, eggs are eggs, right? Overall, the entire experience was quite enjoyable, from the delightful food to the warm atmosphere. A special shout-out goes to Ana, whose exceptional customer service made my visit even more memorable. The combination of fantastic service, inviting aesthetics, and satisfying food truly made for a perfect morning retreat. I can't recommend this spot enough for anyone looking for a relaxing place to unwind and focus on what matters.

It was a cold day and we were hungry so we got the large Cocido De Res and the Costello De Puerco with a Pina agua Fresca. Cocido De Res - Very good, like my grandma used to make. A huge portion of beef in the bowl, good sides to add in so you can control the spice level. The Mexican rice was very flavorful and the tortillas were fresh. I don't care for corn tortillas but I liked them a lot here! Costello De Puerco - Great, delicious salsa verde. The chips went well with the beans but it was overall a great dish with a nice big portion. Pina Agua Fresca - They give you a huge cup, they even put the leftover in a to go cup and it lasted all day! It was delicious and fresh. Overall it was a solid 4/5, would come back if we're in the area and in the mood for Mexican food.

The food was amazing, very flavorful, colorful, and served with grace. Our waiter was fantastic, and the owner was just amazing. He was extremely friendly and made sure everything was okay. They look just like bagged Costco shrimp. Flavor is ok on the chips you get when you sit down. No salsa as this is a Oaxaca style spot. The mole drizzle on top is ok. The biggest issue is that the online web menu did not match what was available in the restaurant on a weekend. No tlayuda or huarache/sope or tacos even. Bizzare and not cool because when we arrived, we realized this and still decided to stay. So. Thats on us. Would not return. This place is cute inside and I could tell it wants to be trendy and cute. The music was loud and kinda clubbey but still not enough to make the food enjoyable. Alcohol drinks are very pretty, aesthetically. Waitresses also were not busy on a weekend at dinner time. I could see that they were chatting in the corner. There was only one other table there so I get it. However, when she got our order. It was wrong so that rubbed me the wrong way.

Even though the restaurant is small and busy, we were seated right away, which was a great start. Our waiter Washington, was fantastic, friendly, attentive, and made our whole experience even better. The atmosphere was perfect too. They had music playing at just the right volume and a big TV showing the live Dodger game, which the kids loved. We started with chips and salsa. The salsa had the perfect level of spice for everyone at the table. The kids ordered horchatas and were excited about the unlimited refills (something you don't always see at other restaurants!). The drinks for the adults were just as impressive. My wife's watermelon margarita on the rocks was perfectly made. It was not overly sweet or syrupy like at some places. Our friends had the "El Jefe" margaritas, and they definitely didn't skimp on the tequila! For dinner, everything was a hit. The kids loved their meals. Albóndigas soup, shrimp tacos, and street tacos--all served with rice and beans. The adult dishes were just as good. The carne asada arrachera was cooked perfectly, the chile verde was full of flavor, and my chicken mole was delicious with a great balance of spicy and sweet without being overwhelming. The portions were very generous, and everything came with rice, beans, and both corn and flour tortillas. The only small thing I would've preferred differently was the chicken in my mole. I personally would've liked a leg and thigh instead of sliced chicken breast but the dish was still very good overall. What really stood out was the hospitality. At the end of the meal, Washington offered us "holy water"-house tequila shots on the house--and it wasn't cheap tequila either! Then after the bill came, he surprised us again with another round of "holy water". That level of generosity and care really impressed us. We also learned that the restaurant has been there 20+ years and is family-run by him and his siblings, which made the experience feel even more personal. You can tell they have a loyal customer base--one couple even said, "See you tomorrow Washington!" The only feedback we'd offer (coming from a customer service background) is that we noticed a few guests waiting at the entrance without being greeted, and one couple actually left the restaurant. A simple "Welcome, we'll be right with you" would go a long way. That said, it didn't take away from our experience. Overall, amazing food, great service, generous portions, and a welcoming family atmosphere. We will definitely be back to try more of their menu!
