Gel x Nails by Kei (love how the change in the sun)

I was looking for a Gel X nail salon and found this spot--they offered Gel X and had extended hours (open till midnight!), which was a nice surprise. My nail tech was Kei and she was amazing--5 stars for Kei! She was super sweet, asked a lot of questions about how I wanted my nails, and checked in throughout the whole process to make sure I liked everything. One thing I've noticed at a lot of salons is that prices aren't clearly explained up front, and the total ends up being way more than expected. I made sure to ask and they explained everything. But while I was there, another customer got upset because her total was way higher than she anticipated and more than she could afford. I felt for her--no one wants to feel blindsided or embarrassed while paying. The customer than yelled at the nail tech who was working on someone else. Honestly, the owner should've stepped in since the beginning and politely explained the shop's policies and prices. In the end, the tech gave the customer a discount, which should've been the shop's responsibility. Overall my experience was good -- especially Kei--but the owners really need to work on being more transparent about pricing and protecting their nail techs and clients as things could have gone worse.

I got a set of Gel-X nails for a trip. Kim was my tech and it turned out to be the prettiest set I've ever gotten. I showed her a Pinterest picture for inspiration because I wasn't super picky about the design being exact. It turned out so beautiful! I love that they open so late too. The whole process took about 1.5 hours and was $130 before tip. I'll definitely visit again when I'm back in Vegas!

Michael was completely transparent about pricing and did an exceptional job on my pedicure--plus, his personality made the entire experience even better. I actually scheduled an appointment at another nail salon, so I'm not sure how I ended up here -- but it turned out to be a happy mistake! From the moment I walked in, the staff welcomed me warmly and asked me to check in. The entire establishment was clean and well-kept -- even the restroom was spotless, which is always a great sign. It didn't take long to be seated, and Ruby got started on my nails right away. I came in for a fill on my acrylic overlay and had two broken nails. She took her time repairing them and did an amazing job. Not only did she nail exactly what I wanted, but she also made sure I was completely satisfied before I left. I'll definitely be returning! The nail techs greeted everyone who walked through the door and were so warm and welcoming. First off I'm from Cali and was in town for work and so grateful this shop is open till midnight!!! What!!! Love! I scheduled an appt for 8 pm when I arrived I was immediately greeted and assigned by Vera. She was so sweet. I purchased a pedicure and when i state she was so gentle and detailed! My toes look and feel fantastic! Before i left a scheduled another appointment for the next month because I knew I'd be back for work! I also wanted to add while sitting there I was offered water and treats. All the young ladies working were awesome I could hear everyone interacting and they def focus on "what the customer wants" thank you for an awesome experience after a long day at work! I don't even know where to start. I'll start by when I walked in. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My appointment was at 8:15am. When I arrived the only employee there was the front desk girl. she told me to choose my color and sit down. I chose it and waited.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]A couple minutes after some girl with glasses walks in. She looks over it from the minute she steps in and sees me. If you don't want to service people that early why don't you just push your hours and open at 10 like every other nail salon? Instead of giving your clients dirty looks[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]she sets up the station and calls me over to a chair. she doesn't say hi, she doesn't tell me her name, she's basically mute with an attitude.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] she starts trimming my nails , doesn't ask what length I want or shape. She uses the biggest nail clippers I have ever seen in my life on my small toe nails. That should have been my first red flag. Well actually her lack of customer service but anyways... she starts drilling my nails with the wrong type of drill head. It was way too harsh on my nail I'm really hoping I don't get ring of fire because of her. When she's done cutting my nails I can immediately tell she cut them too short because I felt the cuts and my skin started to burn. [[HIGHLIGHT]]then she starts taking the dead skin off and I'm very ticklish on the center of my feet so I moved my feet and warned her I was ticklish. the look on her face was hilarious, she looked annoyed and disgusted because I had told her that. She didn't say a word to me still.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Then, other people start coming in. I'm assuming regulars because all the employees knew who they were. Then they all start talking and the girl that's doing my nails gets up and starts talking to them? And just leaves me there mid service. super unprofessional but am I surprised at this point? Of course not. I scheduled my appointment early because I had to go to work right after. I wasn't expecting for me to wait on her after she finished having her little conversation. Then she finishes and tells me "ok done". I was originally not going to tip her at all, as a service provider I always do ATLEAST 20% but I was so disappointed with my experience that I wasn't going to tip. I ended up tipping 6$ which to me is laughable and I would never do that willingly to someone providing good service but she didn't even deserve even that. I just needed to get rid of the change. The area it's in is already bad as it is so that should be your first indicator on why not to go there. BEWARE of this place. I trusted the good reviews and got the complete opposite

I really enjoyed my nail services at top nails. It was real easy to book the service online and pick exactly what I wanted to have done. I was able to get an early morning appointment and the shop was very clean. Danni did an excellent job on my gel fill and did my pedicure. I enjoyed the massage and everything was done in a timely matter for both services. Overall I definitely would come back as they were quite professional and friendly.

Amazing. I'm from California and can never find anyone to do beautiful artwork. So excited came to get gel X nails, which look amazing. Angie made my manicure so natural looking super excited about the antifungal antibacterial gel manicure. My pedicure came out beautiful. Dejah did my pedicure perfectly. An amazing artist. Wish I could take her back to California with me. They even gave me a blanket because I was freezing to death underneath the air conditioning vent. Lol. read more

Bruh.... I came in here an emotional wreck. Like I was barely holding my shizz together. Like, my life was a burning dumpster fire ... Y'all... ya girl was in shammmbles. But Ima G and always hold my cards close to the vest. So I walked in like the most confident zombie you ever would see especially cause there was a beautiful bevy of Black women who looked hella joyful outside when I walked up... So I couldn't look like no punk... The tech was on break for another 15 mins. I decided to stay and wait in my car. I think i wanted to experience the energy of this place. So I internet surfed and periodically looked up to be enamored by the beautiful happy Black women outside who I began to realize were the techs of this establishment and THAAAATTTT gave me a wonderful joy. A tech came to get me soon after and I was seated in a comfortable chair with a myriad of massage options. It was so jovial up in there. Laughter. Singing. Jokes. Key keying. And then there was me... the zombie. but my energy couldn't help but be affected by them ... my zombie was melting with each boom of laughter. And I was feeling so at ease around everyone especially my nail tech Deja that I could feel my dam about to burst. So i made a dramatic announcement - in aries fashion - about it and guuuushhhh tears overflowed before I could finish my dramatic announcement. -- face palm -- Deja got me tissues, her mother gave me advice and wine recommendations , and the techs loved on me with their words as they did clients nails. --cause my problems cant stop no coin-- but they were right there for me... I had a emotional breakdown in an unexpected safe space annnd to top it off, my pedicure came out flawless. xoxo ... Chile, came in to drown my problems in surface beautification and found a home. I hope you all give this place a try like I did and find a happy place... Like I did. read more

I don't think I've ever had this much fun at a nail salon! If you're looking for a salon with great music, good vibes, and lots of laughs-- look no further! My mom and I were in the area and looked up nail salons in the area, Top Nails popped up and we decided to give it a try. We called beforehand and they were able to take my mom as a walk in for a mani/pedi. Their massage chairs are great! There was no seating, but they let me sit with my mom and enjoy a massage too while I sat next to her. They're very accommodating and asking if we need any refreshments. Tri did my mom's nails and he was so happy and energetic. My mom had a blast with him. He told her his name was Sir Milks a Lot! My mom gets scared they might cut her nails too short and file them to where they hurt, but she had no issues here. They were very gentle and never heard her complain. Everyone here is upbeat and the vibes are great! Plus the manicure and pedicure look amazing! We have been blesssed by Sir Milks a Lot! We will definitely be back! read more

I'm very disappointed in how my nails came out, I went there to spoil myself and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the First Lady that helped me was amazing truly! She was patient and helped me understand the difference in nails types and she gave me an amazing pedicure.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However, I was passed to another lady who apparently knew how to do the nails I wanted but completely dismissed me when I asked for oval nails, she gave me almond who's is a completely different shape. She didn't try the nails on and ask me how the length was and if she had I would have told her shorter. There are huge gaps between my real nail and the fake one she put on. What really gets me is she was hitting her vape in the building while working with clients. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was there for 3ish hours and I just felt like she was annoyed that she had to do extra work before her scheduled appointment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Yes I did schedule appointments for both a pedicure and manicure and I understand I might not know how to explain what I want because it's all new to me but I know that this was completely unprofessional and unacceptable. One Star - Disappointing and Unprofessional Experience I was really looking forward to a relaxing visit to Top Nails on Maryland Parkway, especially after reading so many positive reviews -- unfortunately, my experience was anything but. From the moment I walked in, things felt off. One of the employees was asleep in the back, lounging in the last pedicure chair, which immediately gave a very unprofessional first impression. Dani, who did my hands, was cold and unapproachable. Jada, who did my feet, was equally rude. I asked her politely to make the French tip on my toe a little thinner (it was covering half the nail), and she snapped at me, saying, "Do you want French tip or not?" That kind of attitude is unacceptable, especially in a customer-facing role. During the pedicure, I started bleeding -- and to make matters worse, neither technician was wearing gloves. That felt very unsanitary and made me uncomfortable. When I left, I realized there was still leftover product on the back of my legs from the pedicure, which is just careless. The "massage" was nothing more than a quick rub-on and wash-off of lotion, with no effort at all to provide comfort or relaxation. That's what we're paying for -- to feel taken care of, not rushed through like an inconvenience. Throughout the appointment, both women sighed constantly and seemed annoyed, like they didn't want to be there. Any attempts at friendliness felt forced and disingenuous. To top it all off, the atmosphere was chaotic. While I was trying to relax, the client and technician next to me were having a loud conversation about getting drunk on Hennessy and hitting someone over the head with a bottle -- not exactly what you want to hear in a salon, especially one where kids are welcome. What should have been a peaceful, much-needed moment of self-care turned into a stressful, disappointing experience. I feel completely misled by the high ratings and will not be returning. One star. read more

Established in 2016.

Top Nails had been under different management over 5 years but we, have, recently assumed ownership of this salon, since November '16. It has been our absolute pleasure to welcome and to serve you. We have steadily upgraded our interior, brought in young professional technicians to serve your every need. My husband surprised me with an appointment here, and once we arrived, I thought maybe I'd treat myself to getting my nails done too. My husband had already booked a package for both of us. I will say they definitely try to upsell bigger packages, even when you already have services booked, and there were added charges that weren't clearly explained unless you asked. My husband originally wanted a basic pedicure, but they convinced him to upgrade to match mine. Fine -- we decided to just enjoy and treat ourselves. My technician told me that gel polish was included with my pedicure, so I agreed to do it. Later, when we received the bill, there was an additional charge for the gel. My husband mentioned that I had been told it was included, but they said it was still extra. Okay, fine. I then asked the same technician if she had time to do my nails. She explained she already had another appointment and would place me with someone else, which I completely understood since it was a last-minute request. I told them I wanted something simple, nothing extravagant. I was quoted a price that seemed different from what was listed on their website, so I politely asked why. She seemed bothered by the question and explained it was because I wanted a certain shape. I said, "Oh okay, I understand." I then asked the difference between two services because they sounded very similar on the menu. She explained it, but then added, "That one is more expensive." Maybe it wasn't intended that way, but the comment felt unnecessary after my husband and I had already spent a good amount on services. I understand this is a high-end salon, and maybe these kinds of charges or questions are normal for their regular clientele, but personally it came across a bit judgmental and uncomfortable. At that point, I simply asked if they could remove what had already been started (just one nail on one finger), because I no longer wanted my nails done. I felt uncomfortable and didn't want to sit through the appointment feeling like I had to prove I could afford to be there. I actually left crying because of how judged the interaction made me feel. Maybe I'm just a tired-looking mom trying to treat herself, but being made to feel judged for asking simple questions really changed the experience for me.

If I had not already gotten a pedicure, I would have cancelled for certain. Speaking of my pedi - I ended up with a nasty infection on the nails of both fee and tomorrow I will have my third trip to the doctor. As for my hands, I cut the full set short after the technician dropped the nail file and picked it up from the disgusting floor and continued to file without saying a word. Yuck! This place should be shut down. My toe nails have not recovered from this place!!!

It was loud (not a biggie) so we got some great ol fashioneds at the bar, then inched our way to center dance floor where we didn't stop dancing to the band til 1 pm when they stopped.....we had so much fun, we (and others) wanted them to keep playing. It did cost me $25 cover (wife was free). I was ok with this. i think before 9 it's free to get in. Amazing night.

I have left reviews before but here i am again. this is like a marriage or something when you have the same nail tech for two years straight, huh?!. I texted my tech a few pics of ideas I wanted done since we were starting over with clean, fresh nails this time. We decided on one, but then as I pondered a perfect color out loud, she says, "how bout a juicy pink?!" Welp there it is, but she has come to learn that those pinks and purples are My FAVORITES of course. I had kinda wanted to put a tip on my nails and go coffin shaped this time and we discussed what would be best for my natural nails health. She worked so swiftly I did not have the chance to tell her I wanted the coffin shaped. Even though, I didn't quite agree on my nails being pink, I was then presented with three different shades, all very beautiful and all to my liking. my tech has always been very attentive to my needs, plus summer is upon us, so pink it is. As my tech proceeded to glamorize my nails, her masterpiece moments away. I think I blinked twice and she was done. That damn Dejah. Oops she did it again (in my Brittney Spears Voice) my nails are Natural with a perfect overlay, juicy pink w/accents of silver (also my fave), almond shaped nails with a few rhinestones, which I have never done before, making my nails look so flawless that it only looks like I have a design and nothing else. Most importantly I am in love with them like I have been in love with every other set I have received from This chick. We have that rapport where all I have to do now is show her a design and choose a color, then I sit back while she works her magic because once you sit in her chair, your mind is relaxed and you know the BEST IS YET TO COME. It appears, We are now to the point to where my nails no longer belong to me, I am just her walking canvas and I am perfectly fine with that, since Dejah never disappoints. Lbvs. read more

This place is ok. I gave them 3 stars for cleanliness and service. I was the only person in there at first. I got a deluxe pedicure $35. The young girl forgot to put the blue powder in my station. So I was soaking in clear water. The only reason I noticed was bc a little while after, another person came in for a pedicure and sat next to me and I saw the lady setup as I was still soaking. I was disappointed by the cleanliness bc I like sterilized tools.. and when they take their tools out.. it comes in one of those sterile bags but it's cut open from the top so they just pour out the tools.. they don't actually rip the bag apart so it makes me think they can easily just put used tools back in there. I asked her when she began to clip my nails that I would like them short and after she was done I glanced real quick and noticed they weren't but that's fine. I'm sure bc she thought if it was too short it might look ugly or something so I gave her the benefit of the doubt that she didn't want my toes to look ugly. After she was all done she was very nice to stand by me and wait for payment and then asked me to go up to the counter to sign my credit card slip. I felt pretty rushed at that time. It wasn't busy and since I had closed toed shoes I figured I can sit for a few minutes before being rushed out. That is why I gave this place 3 stars. read more

A friend of mine told me she had her manicure and pedicure done here when she came to Vegas in December of last year and she loved their services. I was surprised to see that my usually quiet friend says so much about a nail salon, especially one that isn't the salon in Portland that's she goes to all the time. So I made a point to pay Top Nails a visit. As soon as I walked through the door, I was greeted by a beautiful young gal who warmly asked me for what I needled and from that moment on I was served with water, sat down in a cushioned and comfortable pedicure chair and someone immediately attended to my feet. This was my second time to get a pedicure in a nail salon ever and I am difficult to please. It's just my nature. The gal that worked on my feet gave my toe nails a thorough cleaning and trimming job, after that she gave me a massage that awoke all my senses and when I walked out of this salon, I felt like I was floating. Man, this was unbelievable. I never thought such a pedicure services exist. I'll tell my colleagues, friends and relatives whom I know are coming to visit Las Vegas about Top Nails. Been in LV for 18years and have had my nails done every 2 weeks since moving here...I been to numerous places and I have to say this is one of the best. I go to Sophia and Nathan and I am very happy with both... I bring family when they are in town and some friends have followed me as well. We are all very pleased! I just left went to the store...the store clerk was in love with my nails and I have her their contact information. I always get compliments on my nails and when I shared a concern with Sophia, she addressed it immediately. I am so disappointed with this place. I went in for a gel manicure and wanted a design on my ring fingers. When I showed him the colors I wanted and he told me that it was an ugly combination. Rude!! As they did our nails, people tried to come in and he rudely said "no! I'm busy!" Whenever someone came in. Then they rushed through our nails and our design is moving under the gel. My design is now ruined and I only got it done an hour ago. I spent good money on these nails and now I have to go somewhere else and pay again to get them fixed. Horrible work and horrible customer service. Never coming here again. read more

I had an amazing experience everyone was so friendly. Ethan gave me a fantastic pedicure and my toes look so good. And Deijah did my manicure and she was so fast and gentle and they look great! Everyone's so fun and I loved the conversations we had. Lucia did my boyfriends manicure, he said she was amazing, so gentle, thoughtful and caring, conversation was China did his pedicure, like Lucia she was fun and amazing, very understanding, sweet and caring! My daughter and I went there today for pedicures. We were able to schedule same day appointments. Everyone there is so friendly and kind. I want to give a huge shout out to both Ethan and Karli. They both did awesome jobs on both of our pedicures. These two are seriously two of the nicest people we've had the pleasure of meeting. I highly recommend these two if you're needing a pedicure. Excellent customer service and the shop was supremely clean and organized. We walked in and were pleasantly greeted by not jut one person, but the entire staff!!! The vibe was spot on, old school R&B, as if we called ahead and provided a list of our favorite records and artists. Loved the customer service here Everyone was super welcoming to me and my boyfriend, and we got seated quickly. Do not go here! I got my nails done Sunday and the guy who did them had an attitude while working on my new set. He even cursed while he was doing my nails because the glue wouldn't hold the tip of the nail down. How unprofessional! He never said thank you or even hello when he sat me down in his chair! And to add insult to injury my nails are starting to lift! Because he didn't do them correctly and drill around the edges enough! Do not go here! read more

Stopped in for a gel manicure today, this was my first time at this salon and I had Mecca as my nail tech. She was so kind, patient, and incredibly thorough. This is the cleanest gel manicure I've gotten in a long time. She really took her time and made sure everything looked perfect, and I am so happy how my nails came out. My service was amazing! Chyna did a great job with my full set. She was patient with my many requests, personable, and kind throughout the entire service. Here on vacation and needed to get my nails fixed. Walked into the salon with a horrendous design, and Brianna was able to fix them and free styled the cutest holiday nail design. I appreciated that she took her time and was very precise. Across the board, was a great experience due to the positive environment and all the workers knew their stuff. My nail technician was Chyna and she was amazing! She did such an awesome job on my gel manicure and my feet and toe nails felt brand new after she was done. The salon was a short uber ride from our hotel. We went Saturday morning at 9am and it was so busy but Chyna was thorough, quick and thoughtful throughout the appointment. I'll make sure to book with Chyna next time I'm in Vegas. read more
