This review is for the burrito they make. The Topo Loco has chicken or pork, beans, corn, elote, Fritos, hot sauce, cilantro, cheese, and tomatillo crema. It is contained in a giant tortilla. I ordered mine with the pork. The pork is smoky and seasoned nicely. The sauce works well with the meat and beans. The best part is the Frito chips. This adds another texture level. Lived in Gilbert for years and never been here (crazy right) so we walked over after the annual water tower light show. I asked for a prickly pear ice cream dipped in lime as other yelpers have suggested. It was DELICIOUS and unexpected. The ice cream had a bit of a tart/sherbet taste to it and the lime dip was such a pleasant compliment to it. My son had a generic vanilla dipped in chocolate lol he loved it. The Topo Loco burrito was DELICIOUS! The burrito is just the right amount of spicy and savory to leave your mouth watering. The server told us to get the chicken as our meat for it and it was great! The wait for the food took a while, but they have ping pong and corn hole in the back area to keep you entertained. There is plenty of outdoor seating for large parties and small groups. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area. Next time I'll be trying the elote as it looked very tasty. The prices for items are not unreasonable at all. read more

I was actually going to eat at a Mexican restaurant across the street when I turned around and saw that giant beaver-like rodent wearing a Smokey the Bear hat, toothily grinning at me. Turns out this fella is a gopher! Luckily, this rodent was not the terror of a local golf course, nor did it dance away amidst some exploded smoking debris to the tune of "I'm Alright." The menu is succinct but offers some tantalizing eats. The choices: burritos, elote and soft serve, in intriguing flavor combinations. Since I'm getting a burrito from a Paul Bunyan sized gopher might as well go full loco by getting the Topo Loco Burrito, amirite? This mighty wrapped wonder has your choice of meat (Pork or chicken),beans, elote, Fritos, hot sauce, cilantro, cheese, and tomatillo crema. I opted for chicken. The burrito was a fairly big size, and I loved the mix of flavors and textures. The chicken is shredded, and the inclusion of Fritos added some extra crunch in an otherwise soft textured burrito. If you're a fan of cilantro they chop up large pieces in your meal. Service was equally as succinct. I placed my order, it was ready in a few minutes, then I was ready to enjoy! There is spacious outdoor seating next to the building with shade. As for Covid precautions, the employees I saw here wore masks, and when I was here they only opened the windows when a customer stopped by to order and when a meal was ready to drop off. Ok... I had a short amount of time before heading to the airport to fly home. We squished in a quick trip to try Topo. We heard they had prickly pear ice cream! We are so glad we ventured!! We all got a cup of prickly pear ice cream and 2 got the chocolate dip, 1 got the lime dip and I wanted to do the prickly pear dip. They were all very different, but my favorite was mine with the prickly pear dip! It had almost a white chocolate flavor and really added to the ice cream. So good! Overall, I'm glad I don't like nearby or I would be there everyday! I would highly recommend getting some if you are nearby! read more

After dining across the street, one morning at Liberty Market, I remembered I promised my son who is three, ice cream this weekend. I looked at my phone and saw there was soft serve right across the street. That's exactly what we wanted. Just a regular, vanilla, soft, serve in a sugar cone. Then I looked up and I saw it's actually right across the street. I didn't have to look at my phone I just had to look up. We walked across the street and there was a very little line. We were helped in one minute of waiting. We also paid, got our ice cream in 30 seconds. Service is very fast. They don't have a ton to choose from. They also have other menu options such as burritos, and other food items. What was cool is that they have a large, outdoor area to take your food over and eat. We found a little picnic bench that we sat at to enjoy our ice cream. Of course, even in March you have to work fast when you're eating ice cream out of a cone. They have cornhole and games for the kids. Environment is very fun. I would come back here because the ice cream was delicious and the prices were reasonable, the environment is fun. read more

I've only had one thing here ever, and that's really all I need -- the bean and cheese burrito, loaded with TONS of their salsa (added by them). They have a pick up window at this teensy spot, which is hilarious since it requires employees to rotate about 12 inches from where you order :) The ice cream cones are a real popular item though I've not had one myself. First of all they have the best prickly pear ice. I know what I'm about to say no more really cares but I have had a bad time. The last few days boyfriend broke up with me. I'm about to be homeless. My birthday is 22 October and I'm just tired. I lost my husband to suicide three years ago and I just don't see a way out. Going to get ice cream last night was away for me to just relax and not think about anything but how good this ice cream taste in my mouth and not worry for a minute but going there made my situation worse. The lady who waited on me was rude not kind at all. I asked her if I can get 2 prickly pair of ice creams to go. she handed me the first ice cream and I said to her I wanted to go she said would you please just pass her2 lids. She made me feel so uncomfortable customers behind me looking at me all strange I was so shaking. I couldn't even get the lids put on the ice cream she then said oh you didn't pay. I tapped my card again, but without experience just really showed me that maybe my life isn't worth it. It made me feel lower than ever. I didn't even eat my ice cream last night. Soft serve ice cream is good. I recommend getting it dipped in chocolate. I got the swirl of half vanilla and half prickly pear. I would go with full vanilla next time. Prickly pear flavor was okay. They don't let you sample and I was basically laughed at when I asked, which I thought was rude. So I took a risk getting some of the prickly pear flavor. Wife had a Topo Loco chicken burrito which was fine, she said. Not great, not terrible. But it was messy. More on that in a moment. I had the Topo Bean and Cheese Burrito. Tasty, certainly worth a re-order but it was messy, too. The mess factor was real--bean burrito leakage is no joke and the same can be said for the aforementioned chicken burrito. We drove this town and spotted this cute ice cream stand (we find out when we walked up that it has more than ice cream), and decided we had to have some on this very warm day. In these Covid Times, we loved that we could order and pick up at the take out window and we could pay contactlessly. We can't specifically for ice cream, so that's all we had, but they do have elote which was cool and also burritos. There are only two flavor options for soft serve ice cream, Vanilla or Prickly Pear, or Twist (swirled). It's $3. If you would like it dipped, it's only 50 cents! Thank you Arizona pricing . This is cheap to a Californian. The dip options include Lime, Chocolate or Prickly Pear. I opted for Twist with Prickly Pear dip. The dipped Prickly Pear shell was thick and chewy. It was good, but it also made me not taste the ice cream so much. I really wanted to taste and enjoy the Prickly Pear ice cream, so if I ever ordered it again, I would skip the dip. The prickly pear ice cream was sweet and juicy. I probably would just get that, not twisted to really get the most out of the flavor. My husband liked his more traditional cone too. Full disclosure, the only thing I have ever had here is the ice cream. They also sell burritos and some other items, but I haven't tried them. However, all you need is their ice cream, a twist cone with prickly pear and vanilla is the perfect cold treat. The prickly pear is a bit tart but the vanilla perfectly compliments and the visual of the bright pink ice cream intertwined with the white vanilla is beautiful. You can get a hardened dip on it as well which is fine, but I love it just as it is. If you like an ice cream cone you can't go wrong with this fantastic spot in downtown gilbert. read more

Great taste, the Fritos add good crunch and flavor, and the burrito was a good size. I want to come back and try the elote and prickly pear ice cream. Quick service and really cute little building. We ordered on a rainy night so we brought it back home but there are tables and chairs around outside to sit and eat. Topo is in the heart of Gilbert so it's in a great location to walk around. Small menu done right! We have stopped by twice after eating in downtown and love this little ice cream stop. It's a walk up, so you are served right away and can sip and enjoy. I've followed topo on Instagram since they first opened but tonight was my first visit here! I got prickly pear dipped in chocolate and my husband got vanilla dipped in chocolate. Fair warning this burritos are spicy!!! If you can't handle a lot of spice (like me) you'll be heading back for a delicious swirl of ice cream to cool your mouth. I asked for the sauce on the side, no problem. Asked for a knife and a bag because I saw the size of the Burrito, it was huge! Every request was answered with a "no problem!" When I saw the size of the burrito, I immediately cut it in half and brought half home to enjoy later Next time I'll save room for the prickly pear ice cream, I hear it's fantastic. What a cute spot! Didn't know until recently they serve more than ice cream, and good thing since there are only a few flavors. I've seen long lines here before so I'm happy to say we were the only ones there and received our order immediately. I ordered the prickly pear twist and it was the perfect summer treat. The flavor reminded me of an ice cream version of raspberry yogurt, evenly tart and sweet. They have a couple shaded tables available to the side of the building. I really wanted to love Topo. We planned a visit for my kid's graduation celebration on a Thursday evening. We were all very excited for this treat. I ordered three ice cream cones and asked for two of them to be made smaller for my kiddos. The guy said no problem, turned around and made three cones sky high. Normally I wouldn't complain about extra ice cream but 1) it was so hot the ice cream started to melt right away, 2) The prickly pear flavor was underwhelming and 3) it was way too much for us to eat so we ended up wasting more than 1/2 of our ice cream. I also ordered 5 burritos. Two Topo burritos with no beans or salsa for the kids and three chicken Topo Loco (no special requests). Three of the five burritos were made incorrectly. The Topo burritos were not made as requested and were too spicy for my kids to eat. One Topo Loco didn't have chips and only had salsa on one half. The Topo Loco burrito that did have chips was pretty tasty. Very spicy but I like spice. I recommend sharing since it's pretty large. Not sure what is going on with the staff here but I will likely not be returning. I feel like I wasted $52 but we got some cute photos and the kids had fun playing so I'll give it 2 stars. read more
