This place is GOOD! The chili fries are hands down the best I have ever tasted. For locals, this place is a staple, but if you need to drive to here from afar, you will not be disappointed. The Pastrami is juicy and the roll is perfectly flaky. Better than The Hat. There are other unique items here, like Avocado fries, and they are all very tasty. I visited the location recently and it is still as good as it was 20 years ago. Prices are reasonable, but not cheap. Parking can get crowded, the facility is a bit worn down, and not the cleanest but forget about that. GET THE CHILI FRIES! read more

This place is super delicious. I usually get a burger and onion rings. The burger is very good and comes with thousand island dressing inside. The onion rings are some of the best I've had. Crispy and flavorful. Just recently, I tried the chili cheese fries which were very good and made me super full. I also got what I believe was the grilled chicken sandwich. It was alright, not better than their original hamburger. Kind of sucks that they only have outdoor seating, but oh well. Customer service is okay. I used to live down the street from this place since I was born (since 1990 until I recently moved), and I have to say that I found nothing more enjoyable in my childhood than walking down the block with my cousin or friends to enjoy some chili-cheese fries or pastrami sandwiches. There isn't much in terms of seating since there are only benches outside, but who the hell cares about what you're sitting on? I could be sitting on pieces of turd and the aroma of the food would still overwhelm it. Okay, maybe not but you get the picture. read more

A great whole in the wall burger joint. The chili cheese fries are tasty and they give you enough to put you to sleep. The Tops Burgers (pastrami piled on to a good old fashioned hamburger) are great with onion rings. The breakfast food is really good too! read more

What contributed most to me being a fat kid? This place. I never became picky about Pastrami until i had Tops Jr. My uncle would drive.. no caravan my family out to this place Oc - Alhambra, whats up drive. Anyway, We always got pistrami, chili fries and the Guac fries. hands down the best ever. you can't go anywhere for chili fries but here. Its real chili! oh god, i wanna go now.. Damnit. Anyway, Pastrami is the best, the chili fries are Freaking out of this world!! If you want a good pastrami that isnt part of some gross crappy chain of fast food, go here. this place was no good. i thought it might be like tops in pasadena but what i got didn't reflect any similarities from the pasadena diner. i had a pastrami and chili cheese fries. the pastrami sandwich was small and only had a little pastrami in it. it was also chunky, which is not what i am into when getting pastrami from a corner burger joint like this. it's similar to the sloppy mess that is now served at The Hat but with no reputation behind it. five dollars for a measly pastrami offends me when it's something worth $3.50. chili cheese fries were better. the small was the right size for $3.75 but the chili was lackluster. in some portions of the box, the fries had a weird chemical taste which put me off. i didn't finish this. it's gross, bad for you, and not even good. sucks because being good is the only thing that redeems gross stuff that's bad for you. read more

i really enjoy their chill cheese fries a lot, better than all other kind of burgers places but to but it's very pricey for a large chill cheese fries it's like $5 something. I would still buy it because it taste so good and you would want to keep getting throughout the first day you buy it. One day i told my girlfriend to buy hurgers here and she would say no it look getto, it may look getto but everything is so good here. My girlfriend bought the chill cheese fries and the cheeseburger, she told the first bite and she was like..... "OMG this is sooo bomb". i was laughing very hard. oh yeah cheeseburgers are like $2.89. Throughtout Tops Jr, I would say either get pastrami, their carne asada burritos, and their burgers. Amazing food. Its hard living right next door. My biggest problem is...... I swear, if you want to get hired by them you have to be a bitter, life hating person who likes treating people like shit. If you dont like working there, FIND ANOTHER JOB!!!!!! ALL OF YOU!!! Well, there is a bigger older fellow who is very kind and thankful and i wish he worked open to close. I used to come here often as a kid and the chili fries and pastramis were the stuff of dreams. It's been 10 years or so since I ate here so I was worried that the quality had gone down because good things in your memory bank seldom stay good as the years pass by. But omg I was so wrong! The pastrami was out of this world delicious, the meat has very little fatty parts and it was sliced thin and tender with just the right ratio of pickles and mustard. And the chili fries were amazing too -- order a box and several people can share it. We also ordered the avocado fries and YES I KNOW GUAC IS EXTRA but guess what, they don't charge a crazy amount for these avocado fries. I'm so happy this place hasn't changed. Literally, I think they have the same picnic benches outside. It's nothing fancy, the guys serving you are efficient and friendly, the floor is kinda sticky but mannn, if they don't have THE best pastrami I've ever had!! read more
