First time trying this place out and I'm not impressed. There's a monitor outside the main entrance where people are supposed to place their name for the waitlist which we did . Wait time was about 30 minutes and when the time came to check in with the host as it directs you we go in and the hostess says she gave our table . My wife and I were pretty upset since her response was just this " it happens". Once inside after waiting another 15 minutes we were welcomed with loud music and poorly coordinated service . Incorrect food was brought to the table twice and poor attentive hostess. It might be a good place if you're drunk at the end of the night and don't really care about waiting or the atmosphere, but for any other occasion I would avoid this place. Finally we sat for outside table for two. We sat down for 25 mins without anyone service us. Finally I was so pissed and ask for someone to service us. Then someone took our order without any apologize. Then finally our main dish arrived and it's missing the flour. I asked the host for the missing flour. It took her 15 mins for her to ask the server to come to our table. The server was so pissed and with attitude to ask if anything is missing. Finally they brought us the missing flour and he was so rude. This is the worst customer service ever in my live and I still gave him 15% of the tips. Every time we've past this place it was always packed. Wanting to try it out, we finally made it there. We ordered the Carnitas Tostadas and the Molcajete de Mariscos! "Seafood" Amazing!!! So delicious Freshly made corn tortilla's, the juice and the seafood, to die for! Tostadas with tasty carnitas, pickled onions and guacamole! Didn't ever have them like that but will definitely come back for more! The food was amazing but the customer service from Tio Sergio, who will also become your Tio Lol!! and Robert O aka "Robertooooo" incredible server!!! We asked for music and Tio hooked it up! Funny story, we didn't end up eating here but we're desperate for a restroom. If you're living around here, you know that all of the big name grocery stores and businesses don't allow public use of their restrooms due to the homeless population. We walked into tostadas and were immediately greeted by a friendly Robert. We let him know we wanted to place an order to go and he handed us a large menu. We only wanted to buy something to use the restroom and when we mentioned this to Robert, he said we could use the bathroom no problem free of charge. This is what great customer service is all about! definitely made us want to come back. Also, the margs looked amazing and i can't wait to come back and get one to support this friendly business. During a spontaneous trip to San Jose, we went to Tostadas as we heard it was good. On weekends, the restaurant is bustling. We waited for about 45 minutes to be seated. Inside, it's very lively. Although the service is slow, the server is friendly. The food is served quickly and tastes great. Looking forward to trying other items on the menu. On a Friday night, I had dinner with a former coworker. The restaurant is very spacious. We ordered elote and others. The food is delicious. The whole cob elote is a bit unexpected. At around 8, we saw DJ equipment and changing lights. Not sure if it turns into a club at night. Didn't stay to find out. In general, the food is satisfactory, the environment is unique, and the service is friendly but a bit slow. read more

The most important thing is respect for traditions and Mexican cuisine. The chef and all the staff are simply top notch. Incredibly delicious steaks with something unique in each position, amazing salads, tostados, tacos, burritos. EVERYTHING you want. It's hard to put into words, you have to try it! There are many options for cooking seafood. And drinks are a whole different story. High quality alcohol, super nice presentation. You will fly to heaven. Highly recommend! Over all experience AMAZING. Not only was the food delicious and flavorful with tons of unique flavors and spices including the pretty drinks! It seemed like your waitress was in a rush trying to get everyone else's order, so it's possible it was simply overlooked. It might be helpful for your team to have a quick meeting about this to make sure everyone's on the same page when it comes to checking IDs fairly and consistently. I've been to Tostadas on two separate occasions, and both times was blown away by the quality and taste of the food. The first time I went, it was for weekend brunch and we ordered breakfast food and cocktails. The second time, I ordered the birria tostadas per my friend's suggestion, and they were so good and filling! Tostadas has an upbeat party atmosphere, so expect reggaeton pumping through the speakers and shots all around. We were in a large group, six adults, and checked in via Yelp. We checked in and unfortunately had to wait about 40 minutes after we arrived. If it wasn't for the waiting time I would have probably given 5/5 starts. Servers and service was great, they were all super nice. The food was great, I had chilaquiles verdes with potatoes and was very happy with the food. The drinks were great, I had an iced coffee and my husband had a michelada (mega- shrimp michelada) he was happy with the flavor and the shrimp were delicious. Hope to come again. You should be so lucky to have Alberto attend to you while you eat at Tostadas. An excellent meal becomes exceptional due to his gracious manner and attentiveness. San Jose is a wasteland of mediocre food, but Tostadas is our bright spot: an elevated take on good Mexican cuisine. This place gets an A+!! I was celebrating my birthday and always wanted to visit the restaurant. So my family took me there for the first time. The food was amazing and they give you ALOT! We came here for outdoor dining a few weeks back and were blown away by the food, drinks, and service!! The carnitas skillet and carnitas benedict were so delicious and the portions were huge. The drinks were great too- I think we got the mimosas and paloma. I also came by and picked up their Taco Tuesday special: 15 tacos and 3 margaritas for $50!! It was so so good.
