More like zero stars. I have no other option than to use this company because they installed the system in my home and no other companies will touch our AC system because it was improperly wired. I had another company confirm the thermostat was bad and needed to be replaced. I told Total Comfort this and was told they "don't take into account what other AC companies say and would have to pay them $119 so they could diagnose themselves." When I made the appt I was told someone would be out between 0800-100. At 0800 I received a call saying someone would be there between 0900-1100 and they would "see me in two hours." 1100 came and went, when I called I was then told my appointment was between 1100-1300 and they don't know why I was told it was earlier after not one, but two people confirmed the earlier time. Well 1300 came and went and guess what, nobody came. All I got was well they are busy on another job and won't be out for another 1-2 hours. When the tech finally arrived, he just looked at the thermostat dumbfounded and pulled it off the wall a few times before calling the thermostat company to confirm what I already told them was the issue, a bad thermostat. I called to dispute the charge and instead of admitting they are wrong, the woman wants to sit there and argue about the driver's gas and time. You mean the 5 minutes he just stood there and then called on the phone, something I could have done and got the issue resolved much quicker. Joke of a company!!!! read more

We had a new system installed three and a half years ago and it stopped cooling. They sent a tech out and charged us $80 or so to diagnose the problem. Once they figured out it was a leak in the inside coil, we scheduled a date to replace it under the 5 year warranty. I had assumed the warranty on labor was only one year which meant about $1,000 in cost to us, but the tech wanted to call in and check just to be sure. It turns out that the sales rep that sold us the system, who I believe was the owner, actually gave us 5 years on the labor also. So, the total cost to us was $0. They even refunded the original $80 charge to test the system. It's nice to find a company that goes out of their way to deal honestly with their customers. As an update, just one week before the end of the 5 year warranty, there was a leak in the outside unit and it needed to be replaced. Once again, it was replaced completely free of charge. Also, for the reviewer that suggested they have a problem with the BBB, I checked their site and there are a total of 2 resolved complaints over the past 3 years and they have an A rating as of 3/12/2015. It's a shame people feel the need to come on Yelp and lie, but that is often the case when someone only creates a profile and only writes one review. read more

I want to add more stars to my review. Excellent is what I see with this company Total Comfort. Kudos to Janay who is wonderful on the phone, helping getting the schedules together. Joshua who came out, spent time in the attic, diagosed a small part of the heater not kicking in, ordered it. We are an older couple, it was really nice of Joshua showing so much concern that we would not have heat for a couple of days. Today Cesaer came and installed that part and was as gracious as the others are. We have so much peace of mind with these folks. We feel taken care of and so happy to have Total Comfort come out twice a year to maintain our heater and A/C. Part our contract is having our plumbing checked. Kudos to Greg who helped us with our water flow, pipes, shower and toilet flushing etc. Janay even called to remind us when our maintenence date was near. Third company called this one had a polite way of answering to my service request young lady asked for model number of the refrigerator and the year built gave all info, she asked me to be available between 3-5 pm did so. About 3:30 scheduler called to advise tech would be arriving within the following 30 min. 5 min later he calls back to inform me they do not service refrigerators , I'm sorry come again?? Why would someone ask details as to brand and year after I had explained I had a dead refrigerator to now be told sorry wrong company?? Want outstanding service? Look no further. This team will deliver just that! Last week we arrived home from our 4 day trip to Disneyland where we were away from our home. Upon returning we noticed the downstairs was unusually colder than normal and quickly realized the entire thermometer downstairs wasn't working at all! Luckily our 1 year warranty with our new home is still in effect and the warranty department with Pulte said it would take a few days to hear a response from Total Comfort. I took it upon myself to call within a few hours this same day just hoping I would be able to get service sooner than later. I am a stay at home mama to a 10 mo old and a 3 year old so my concern for their health in a comfortable temperature environment was all that mattered to me. Marlena takes my phone call and after I explain what is going on she immediately finds a technician that can come out to make the repair THIS SAME DAY! I was floored and wanted to cry! She even mentioned her genuine concern for me as a mother to two little girls, one of them being a baby and how she completely understood why I needed the repair made as soon as possible! The technician even arrived an hour earlier than expected and within minutes he replaces our thermometer and ensures it's working properly before he leaves. He too mentions he has a little baby at home as well and how he understands the concerns I have. Let me start off by writing I wish there was a lower rating than 1 star. Let me also state that I WAS a customer of Total Comfort Inc. for 7+ years. I had a leak in my garage, I called Total Comfort Inc, two very polite service techs came out, the leak was located. The leak was in a copper joint , the main tech did say right away that it appared to be a bad soder, I was told that if the joint could be re - sweated the cost would be approximately 180.00 , no problem. Well there was still water in line and the flux would not take. Now for the good part, the copper pipe would now have to be "reworked" new cost 1,400.00 BECAUSE it could take 4 hours to complete. 1,400 divied by 4 hours, who makes 350 dollars an hour. my response no way. The tech did call his supervisor Kieth, he explained the leak and the fact that I was an existing customer, Kieth's response no negotiating, the cost stayed at 1,400.00. I said no thank you and I told them that Kieth just trashed a 7 year relationship, including my AC service. A day later a contacted a local handyman, the individual checked the leak confirmed it was a bad soder job, in fact the joint was not sodered, the individual pulled the copper joint apart by hand , cleaned the joint , re-sodered and sweated the joint. Took maybe twenty minutes and the cost wait for it .......20.00 , I gave the gentleman a 40.00 tip. Total savings = 1,340.00 This was the most lopsided estimate I have ever recieved in my life! read more

We recently worked with Total Comfort on an A/C issue along with scheduled maintenance of our home HVAC system and they did a great job in all respects. It was easy to schedule an appointment, they reconfirmed a day before and also gave a quick heads-up call right before the technician was set to arrive. Kyle arrived exactly on time, we discussed the specific A/C issue as well as what he would be doing in terms of scheduled maintenance and he went right to work. He quickly debugged the A/C issue and recommended the right course of action which ended up being included within the scheduled maintenance, so this was a very cost effective visit overall. There was absolutely no attempt whatsoever to push unnecessary additional services or repairs, and Kyle even took extra time at the end of the service call to provide extra advice and guidance on a separate project that we are considering for a later date. If there were negative stars I would do a -2. Total comfort installed the six a/c units in our new built home in 2020. From the very beginning we had problems with the units from being installed wrong to not working properly. We were told by the home builder that Total Comfort would do the warranty work and then would be available to do the service work once the warranty expired. During the warranty period it was like pulling teeth to get them to come out or to honor the agreement we had set up. Now they say they do not go to Brea anymore because it is to far. Why did they bid to install a/c's in a new building site if it was to far. This is close to being the most incompetent business I have dealt with. I am not the only one in my townhouse complex to have this problem. Also, the service techs were all very nice and professional. Just don't use them. Wouldn't recommend and would never use them again. Yes, they do overcharge. Their poor and inadequate services are overpriced. They make false promises and will get you later to make you pay more. Just make sure you get everything IN WRITING if you do go with them, but I dont understand why you would even call them. Very bad experience. Not sure it is just the technicians or really reflection of the overall company. Air conditioning broke, technician came in. First thing he noticed was that the vents were closed and he said that should have stayed open and that could well have caused the system to break Down. Then I told him we did not do it, and we even never knew it, then must be the previous home owner and must be like that for a while. And I wondered why the previous technician would give us a friendly reminder or pointed it out to us. Then this technician got very offended and defended it with bunch of bulshit and arrogance. It really frustrated me when he started saying that they are not obligated to tell us any thing until there is a problem. So they are obligated to check our system thoroughly and gave us recommendations of all expensive replacement options to prevent problem according to what they say. But a simple and obvious thing like reminding the home owner to make sure the vent.. Is not on their list? Then a little while later, this guy came and told the problem has nothing to the vent being closed? Then therefore, does it justify that they should never tell us any thing about the vent being closed? No, I don't think so. The problem here is not whether it actually caused the problem, it is the conscience of informing home owner of what they see and what they think based upon their knowledge. If you don't see, it is the matter of experience and knowledge, if you see, and choose not to tell. Then it is concenience. And if you are not sure what happened during previous trip, and defend it in such manner, in my eyes, very minimum, it is arrogance. read more

I contacted my office, who gave me 3 company's who service Corona, one didn't have any openings, one only works regular 9-5 M-F, then I got in touch with Omar from Total Comfort! What a life saver!! Since Total comfort deleted my original post that reflected my horrible experience, I will do a quick recap of why I would not recommend this company. 1) they are just out to get your money and will rip you off. This is the main reason why I need to post this because I was a victim of this. For Someone who knows nothing about air conditioning, I was sold on putting zones in my less than 1400sq ft, ONE STORY home. Not my fault, but the Sales man's fault because he did not do his due diligence by being dishonest. It's a no brainer,you make business by being loyal and honest to your customers. 2) this company stressed me and my family out. My AC and heater kept breaking down, they knew there was a problem and kept coming out pretending like they fixed the problems when in realty they were trying to hide the bigger problem, the duct work was done completely wrong. Long story short, they did a crappy job. But I didn't give up without a fight because I knew I was being cheated. I fought until they came out and did the work right and reimbursed me for the crappy zoning job they did. Any expert technician would not recommend zoning at all but they made me think it was ideal and would save me money on my energy bill. well go figure, it did just the opposite. I refuse to continue to do business with this company but I feel that my experience needs to be shared. I hope James the salesman who calls himself the "supervisor" is no longer with this company. BE CAREFUL. Technician was EXCELLENT, Informative and FAST. However, I had a burnt Capacitor in my AC unit. $20 to 30 dollar part max. Somehow, I ended up being charge $495 dollars to replace the part & get my AC back up Tech was done in 30 minutes. They are good at up selling you without you knowing. Adding in maintenance, warranties, future checkups, etc to boost the price WAY up. This is a very dishonest way of doing business. Honest Companies get all my business, this one gets none.
