The contactless curbside pickup was an absolute breeze. I spoke to a store associate over the phone to ask about it beforehand and he was really nice. "Cody" I think. I've been a regular because of the customer service from one man, CODY. Our first experience was pleasant and fluid. I approached Cody with many questions and he simply answered all and then some. Simply, a genuine helping hand. His personal feed back which I thought was great was crucial to my decision making because we had similar tastes. You know when you find a great store and you start shopping there for all your liquor needs, but then they bust out with some random BS policy and you vow to never go there again? Just me? Okay. My brother, sister and I stopped here to see if we could find this specific cider my brother likes. They actually had it so he decided to by two four packs. Up until this point, everyone working is very nice and helpful. So we're at the register, and the young lady ringing up my brother says we ALL have to show ID... uh, what? Since my brother drove, I didn't think to have my ID or anything on me. I'm 31, and I by no means do I look anything less than that. Yet, I'm asked to LEAVE because I don't have my ID! We've been here countless times since it opened and that has never happened. All the while, at the register behind us, there is a man with his [not older than] 10-y-o daughter. Makes sense? I had the most wonderful experience with one of the employees at Total Wine. I ordered 4 bottles of a very rare, hard to find rum (Pyrat 1623) from Total Wine. I do not live in the area, and arranged for my daughter to pick up the bottles. All of the employees were extremely helpful, but Cody Wilhite was particularly kind and patient in helping me with this order. He labled the bottles for pick up on a certain date, so there would not be any mistakes, and made sure they had everything in their inventory. This is for my father's 90th birthday, so it was a very special occassion. I was truly impressed with Total Wine's customer service. read more

I had to buy a few items since the coronavirus closed down the local bars in Long Beach- Found everything I needed. The staff here are friendly and helpful- it was an easy in and out process. My friend and I were shopping at Towne center and my mother texted me asking if I could pick up wine for a her dinner party. We walked into the store and no one ID'd us. We asked a worker there where the certain wine was and he didn't know so he brought us to the lady at the sample counter. She took the time to search for the type of wine and then brought us to it. Right when we got to the wine she asked to see our IDs. My friend had left her ID in the car which was all the way across the shopping center, she's 26(and looks it). I look young and I know that so I wasn't surprised to get ID'd. The lady was so rude about it and wouldn't let me buy the wine even if she left the store. She even had the audacity to say to me "it's obvious that your just buying it to give to her". What the heck! I could not believe how pretentious she was. It seems silly to me that she would rather try to police our visit than do her actual job and sell products. After reading other reviews I see that many people have had similar experiences. My family/ neighbors have been shopping there for years but after telling them about my encounter they said they definitely won't be! I'm glad not to give them my business. I'd much rather go to BevMo or even a grocery store. Customer service is very important. read more

So I asked a sale rep about vodka and she recommended one which had 90 rating (VEIL) ..I bought it and it basically one of the worst vodka we ever tasted. I spent a good amount of time trying to locate bourbon in this massive store and was finally approached by an associate Courtney who, on her break, walked me over to the correct aisle, and went down the list of her top picks of bourbon in my price point. I picked the one she recommended highest and let's just say the recipient of this gift was EXTREMELY surprised in my 'classy taste in liquor'. So uh.. Just as awesome as the Redondo location. This location is conveniently located in the Long Beach Towne Center, so you can swing by while running other errands. They also have the 10 cents for 4 tastings in the middle of the store, which is my fave. Mark was pouring the wine, and was very knowledgeable and friendly, and informed us of the classes that he teaches there, which I definitely plan to take sometime. We ended up purchasing two of the four wines we tasted. I absolutely love these tastings, since I am definitely more inclined to purchase a bottle of wine after tasting it first. Highly recommend this place to everyone! Amazing selection, and great prices! read more

Beware of the online order pickup service. First of all, they make it clear that you cannot pick up your order until the email is sent out. They never sent that email I had to try and call the store and customer service all weekend. When I would call the store it would say the line was full and kept hanging up on me. Typically, when you do an online pickup the employee goes over your order to make sure it is correct. THEY DID NOT DO THIS AND CHARGED ME FOR MULTIPLE ITEMS THAT I DID NOT RECEIVE. Now I have to wait up to 10 business days to be refunded for their employees errors! read more
