Let's start with the place being way overpriced on all there items, the Thai chicken wings ?? Burnt tasting and not even authentic Thai food. I love coming here for brunch. If you don't mind sitting inside the wait is not as long as sitting in the garden. The service is here is really quick we get our food rather quickly. Food and always on point. I love their French toast here. This is never lets me down. Each time I come here I am treated with the same custody. Tower Cafe never lets me down. It was more crowded than we expected since we arrived about 10:30 on a Friday morning. But it has been raining so no outdoor seating. Only waited about 5 minutes. We were seated in a back corner that might have been dark without the skylight. Anyway, coffee immediately arrived. Yay! Guys had cornmeal blueberry pancakes! Husband with side of eggs, son with banger sausage. Both commented on how delicious especially with house made maple butter. The price for two Coronas at happy hour was the price for one beer at the theatre next door. The pumpkin soup was hearty, garnished with pumkin seeds, and delicious. It's overrated BUT, better than Black Bear Diner. Customer service is fast and good. Host exaggerates a bit for the wait list for 9 ppl (6 adults and 3 children (including an infant) -- 2 1/2 hours, but we got a table in less than an hour. I don't believe our waitress came around to see if we need drink refills. There are only 2 bathrooms, so there's a wait if you need to go. Parking is average. This was our second time here and it was just as good as the first! Arrived on a Sun around noon, put our name down for a table of 5 people and were given an estimated 35 min wait time. It was crowded but ten minutes later we were called and seated in the smaller room towards the back of the restaurant. Tower Cafe is notorious for its brunch and the menu offered several yummy dishes, as well as, some salads, soups, burgers, and sandwiches. Breakdown of what we ordered: (2) Thai Steak and Eggs ($18) - Skirt steak marinated in a ginger, garlic, and plum sauce and then grilled and served with two eggs any style and paired with a side of cool spice sauce. Chorizo Con Huevos ($14) - Baked Mexican chorizo sausage scrambled with eggs and topped with red onions and cilantro. Served with refried pinto beans, flour tortillas, and a side of angry salsa. El Charro Verde Burrito ($13) - Two scrambled eggs, refried beans, jack cheese, pulled pork, and potatoes rolled in a flour tortilla and covered with Ernesto's fire-roasted salsa verde, sour cream, Panela cheese, onions, and cilantro. Tower Monte Cristo ($15) - Our Famous French Toast sandwiched around uncured Applewood smoked ham and Swiss cheese and then baked, dusted with powdered sugar, and served with chipotle-raspberry jam. I've been coming to Tower Café for years. Probably the most popular restaurant for breakfast/brunch, in Sacramento. I've been here for dinner as well. Don't think I've ever been disappointed with any of my visits and the food. Their menu is quite extensive and anyone can find something to eat on the menu, even with any dietary restrictions. I've never been a big fan of brunch, so you'll likely see me here for lunch or dinner....or when I'm in Sacramento visiting. On my most recent visit, I shared the Chorizo con Huevos, and French Toast with my cousin. It was a busy Friday morning, but our orders came out fairly quickly. Definitely too heavy of a breakfast for me, but was very good. I highly recommend trying their French Toast topped with fruit. They have a podium/check-in counter right out front because they get very busy. There are often waits, even during the week. There are both indoor and outdoor seating, but I highly recommend sitting outside on a nice day. Their garden-like outdoor area is quite peaceful. Parking should never be an issue.
