Stay Away! I have never written a negative review but felt it's the right thing to do here. I recently purchased new premium tires. I discussed with the front desk and the service manager the need to hand torque the lug nuts--even provided a soft thin wall socket for their use. After getting home, a lug nut was loose and would spin when tightened. After further investigation, the problem was that the wheel stud was stripped from the rotor and could not be torqued. The rotor and stud had less than 100 miles on them. While I cannot prove (or disprove) that this was their fault, it is without question that the tech would have known that the nut was spun--and said nothing! So much for my $20 tip! After my discovery, I spoke to the sales person, he agreed with me that they should never have let me drive home with this problem. There were promises to look in to it; several follow-up calls from me, and lots of lip service from them: 'we are looking in to it and will get back to you...' I have heard nothing from them. Crickets. I have no confidence that they could competently fix the problem and will not bring them the new rotor to install--that job is going to someone who can be trusted! I have to say, this place is fantastic. I went in yesterday, with a leak in my right front tire. No idea how it started. The manager inside was super friendly, told me it would only cost $13 to fix, and got me right in! The guys working in the garage were also very friendly, and got my in and out of there, with no hassle in about 30 minutes. I went I with a tire puncture and was told a day later that it could not be fixed due to the fact that there was a bubble on the side on the tire, at this point I need to point out that when I punctured the tire it only had a slow leak but I called roadside service to remove anyway to prevent any further damage but I and the person that removed the tire examined it No Bubble observed so where did this mysterious bubble come from Any way when I had call them they told me I needed to buy a new tire and they would mount it and have it ready for the car when I arrived I told them no I would be there to pick the tire up Surprise surprise when I get there there is no bubble All I can say is they are crooks read more

Just leaving TFT and I'm in shock. Another local fire place told me I needed to replace my flat tire while Town Fair fixed it ... for less than $20. I've had several experiences with this place and they're always consistent and courteous. Don't waste your time or money anywhere else. read more

I witnessed one guy working at Town Fair deliberating damaging my hub caps. He would put a lug nut in it and then drag/scrap it on the concrete, moving it each time he placed a lug nut inside. Then he used a air powered gun to overtighten and ruin the hub caps. The manager paid for the replacement cost of the hubcap, but it was completely unnecessary. I now use DeSante Tire. They charge a bit more but honor my request to hand tighten lug nuts, are happy to let me attach the hubcaps myself, and have been fair and polite to me. I like the fact that Town Fair can get tires quickly. I found the prices to be acceptable if negotiated. read more

I have gotten tires here in the past without issue. The last time I went for new tires - which will be the last time I go here - they vandalized my wheels. When rebalancing the wheels after replacing the tires, they need to remove the old weights before adding new ones. Apparently whoever did this to my wheels was having a bad day because he seemingly attacked the weights in a fit of rage with a sharp screwdriver. I returned a couple days later after noticing the scratches and dirty leftover stickers to show the manager. After I pointed out the scratches he literally shrugged and said "yeah... that's how we do it." After much arguing he finally agreed to fix the wheels. I told him that the only acceptable fix is if I can't see where the scratches used to be. He agreed and promised that's how it would be. He had to take the entire car and it took them two full days to do the "repairs". I don't have my car for two days. When I go to pick it up, to my utter shock, I see that they have just performed a very sloppy attempt to spray paint over the scratches. The manager, Stephen, had already run away before I got there and I could not confront him about this. No attempt was made to repair the scratches - only cover them up with spray paint of a color that isn't even close to matching the wheels. This is some of the worst workmanship and customer service I've ever experienced. I will never trust these people with my car again and neither should you. To the credit of the corporate office, I sent them all my photos and they agreed to replace all four of my wheels with new wheels. I had that work done at Bridgestone and it went fine. The one star is for this location but the corporate office did the right thing and replaced my destroyed wheels. read more

If they were running that far behind they should have told me when I came in instead of just letting me hang. Found this place after hitting some debris on I-95 causing a tire puncture and slow leak. Managed to get the car into their parking lot in the critical minutes before I was totally SOL. The guys saw me waiting in the parking lot and let me in a couple minutes before they opened. Fixed the tire for $10 and got me on my way. Would have expected to pay much more. They remember their loyal customers, as well as welcome new customers! TRUSTWORTHINESS, QUALITY, PRICE are reasons my husband and I take our 3 cars to Town Fair, Kingshighway location, for purchase, and for maintenance of our tires. It is easy to have the tire pressure checked by competent personnel, especially as the seasons change. In purchasing tires, the stock is usually at the store, but if not, it will be delivered the next day. They don't try to sell you something rather than what you already have, or want. It is possible to make an appointment, but it is always easy and efficient to just go to the store and be assisted with efficiency and expertise. We appreciate the courtesy of an Educator Discount. Went to Town Fair Tires in Fairfield, CT yesterday. I was driving with a car full ok kids and had a flat tire. As a woman you are always worried about being taken advantage of when it comes to items with the car but the gentleman that helped me was incredible. Steven Rivera was polite, patient with me and my children and did not try to sell me anything that I did not need. My biggest beef with these guys is the people in the back have twice damaged my hubcaps. The first time I watched as an idiot put my lugs inside the hubcap and each time he did, he moved the hubcap which was face down on the concrete floor scratching the outside. I jumped all over him about it. Another time I discovered he put it on with an air impact gun and stripped the plastic nuts used to attach it to the wheel. They replaced my front caps once and I replaced the back ones one. Recently I went it and knowing that I had already removed my rear hubcaps, and did not have the fronts off. It discussed the issue several times and the guy up front Josh, said no problem he write it on the ticket to do those by hand. Well, in the course of rotating some tire during the tire installation, being a dually, the inside of the wheel was now facing out on one of the front wheels. So I removed the hubcap and trim ring to spray paint the wheel to match all the others. When I went to remove the hubcap I found they did use an air impact wrench to put it on and ruined the plastic lug. The problem is indicative or either stupidity or laziness. I called Josh up and explained what happened and he insisted the use hand tightening. I offered to send him a photo of it. I accidentally got cut off from him while waiting on hold. I called back and was told he was with a customer. Even though it was seconds from when he came back on the phone. Instead, some rude employee starts giving be grief and telling my I had to bring it in. They should all know that I am prepping for a cross-country trip and they want me to drive in. This person was so rude I wanted to leap through the phone and slap him. There is no excuse for that. The damage was clearly done by an air impact tool designed for metal parts. I was very clear I wanted this removed with hand tools--and that included reinstalling it. It was not done. It's not my fault their service techs are lazy screw ups that have no common sense or mechanical ability. read more

Staff is a bunch of hustling thieves. They'll do anything to sell you the most expensive tires and push you to buy a warranty but when you return for any maintenance with your tires they are rude and hastily. Manager confirmed I had an appointment over the phone but when I showed up they had nothing in their system. Left me waiting for an hour and forty fives minutes just to tell me they didn't even have my car's tires in the store and they would order it. Highly disappointed in the lack of service and consideration from the staff after spending almost $900.00 on tires. read more

This place is a ripoff - pressure to buy higher cost, additional items added to the bill without adequate explanation or the consent of the customer. They schedule your installation time and when you arrive you still need to wait for TWO HOURS to install a tire. I looked at tires and suggest she stop by and get air. They tried to up sell her and told her all 4 of her sensors were bad. BS newer car newer tires. One may go bad but not 4. She called me very concerned. I told her to leave and head down the street to the dealer. She Did. Her tire pressure was low in front and rear left tires. My husband, seeking all season tires for his all wheel drive car after a blowout in December, bought the specific "all season tires" that the Town Fair salesperson recommended. When the car slid in the first snow storm, my husband began to wonder. When he lost total traction in Vermont-- including getting stuck in a driveway and having a near miss sliding near a cliff-- he went to the tire manufacturer's website to discover that the tires sold to him were SUMMER TIRES. Stephen, the first manager we spoke to, told us "we consider those all season." No apology, nothing. Jon, the next manager, admitted that the tires we bought were summer tires. While apologizing, Jon chastised us for listening to a salesman who "hadn't worked there long. " After a near miss with the cliff and stuck in a driveway during a vacation, we are less than pleased by the salesperson's major mistake and the unprofessional way we were treated by the managers and Rich Allen, the VP of Customer Service, when we brought the tires back. . read more

To be absolutely blunt, the Fairfield Store is a Fraud, they will try and take advantage of you every possible way. 1) We purchased tires for our Jeep under the understanding that it included road hazard protection, low behold they refused service as apparently it wasn't on the receipt. Absolute Frauds 2) The tire that we needed to purchase because of the refusal of the road hazard was quoted 10% higher than what was listed on Townfair's website, when confronted with the information, sales person said I'll double check but that's what our system has as price. But almost immediately he conceded to the website price. You really feel like they are taking advantage, I don't mind paying for service but hate when a corporation has their moral compass pointed the wrong way. You really are better with the Big Box Stores as they don't gauge you for installation and charge you additional for road hazard as we just paid $30 between mounting and Hazard warranty is limited to 3years even though website says lifetime..... Manager/asst mgr of Kings Hwy Town Fair refused to do job as it wasn't a Town Fair purchased tire citing "liability issues". Major BS. Got it changed at a nearby shop for $10 no questions asked. They tried to sell me a tire for $150 I asked if they had any cheaper tires in another town fair tire and he said no. So I end up going to Bridgeport town fair tire which they had cheaper tires so basically he lied. Still waiting to have my one tire replaced. First visit: we have to order a tire but it will be in this afternoon as we'll get it ready before you come and put it on your car in 15 minutes. OK. Second visit (that afternoon): the tire has arrived bit no one had done anything. It will take at least 45 minutes. Couldn't wait that long. Next visit - it's Saturday, it will be 1-1 1/2 hours. Trying again on Monday. I have an appointment but was told to expect it to take 90 minutes. I don't think it's ever been this time consuming for me to get 1 tire changed. read more
