Terrible service. On more than one occasion. This time my wife went with her 3-month-old Audi with 3,300 miles and she told them she had a nail in her treads. They told her that repairing is no guarantee and that it will always leak. They recommended she buy a new tire. She unknowingly was taken advantage of. Bridgeport and Norwalk stores have always been good to us. Honest. The people at this place have a history of not putting the client first. I will NEVER GO AGAIN. read more

I have been a customer for over 20 years and spent thousands of dollars. I have had a couple issues in which they promptly rectified. This week I bought 4 tires for my wife's care on Monday. I noticed the warning light going off for right rear tire for low pressure. I added some air when I got home and told my wife to monitor It seemed fine until she left this morning to pick my daughter up at airport. It was drastically going lower. I told her to stop in at town fair and Matt would help her out. Instead of helping her flat out refused to look at the car even though his team installed less than 48 hours earlier. I have never wanted a service person fired as much as I want Matt fired. His preference was to send my wife back out on the road with unsafe tires instead of messing with his precious schedule. Never again and I will tell anyone I can the same. At least avoid Matt and Southport. Update. Matt told my wife it was probably something in the tire. It was a faulty valve stem that she paid 42 bucks to fix. Seriously is this the kind of service you want when it comes to your safety. Horrible read more

Steer clear as they don't value the customer. Have bought and mounted numerous tires from them in the past. When I needed last minute help to mount tires on loose wheels for my track car they flat out refused because I hadn't purchased from them. This is really incredible as I usually go through about 15-20 sets of tires a year because of all the track driving I do and the fact I have summers and winters for all my cars. They DO NOT rotate your tires unless you request it! I had assumed that when I asked them to "mark" my winter/summer tires when they removed them, they would rotate them when the put them back on. Just realized they do not do this unless you request it. This explains the excessive wear on the tires that I have them change and the even wear on the car in which I change myself (separate set of wheels for that one). What a fraud! Truly disappointed, after bringing my wife's car and being here numerous times in the past with I've never had an issue up until now... I dropped my wife's car off Monday night at 530 they stated the car would be ready tomorrw (Tuesday) to get one tire fixed ... to my dismay she received a call saying all 4 needed to be replaced, I stated how you just replaced the front 2 not even a year ago! (His response 30 k miles driven on it ) my response was just replace the one rear tire! ... Later that day I called customer service 5 hours later as the location didn't answer so their support center answered and stated my vehicle was ready I left work to head down ... as I entered they giggled when I said I was there to pick her car up and said we'd call you once it's ready ... so around 420 my wife received a call saying the vehicle was finally ready I made my way over again the second time !! at 510 pm walked in and was told sorry our card machine is down I have to make a copy of your credit card or you can't take your car ?! Are you kidding me what a joke!!! So you don't call me to tell me to bring cash and have the audacity to hold my car hostage becuase of your system being down!? I really don't understand some of the bad reviews about Town Fair Tire. Having low profile tires on my car, they tend to get flat way more than they I would like. I tried a few over spots over the years but over that past couple years I always come here.actually I'm here now getting 2 new tires. I had put off replacing the worn tires on my car when the pandemic started. With CT's phase two reopening, I called Town Fair and they were able to order the same Toyo tires that I had previously purchased from them and schedule an appointment for the service. I had an exceptionally pleasing and satisfying experience at Town Fair Tire Center, Southport CT, on Friday, May 25th, at 5.50 pm - 10 minutes before regular closing. Pulled in from I-95 with my rear, right tire loosing air dangerously. Center chief Matt was at the door to offer immediate help. The source of the problem was identified within a minute (a large piece of sharp steel). The tire was mended with a patch, with the wheel re-balanced and re-installed, so I was back on the road by 6.15 pm, thanks to the staff working through and past closing time. I've used them for years on all our cars: a basic set of tires for the Subaru, a low-profile/high-performance set for a sports car, a set for the SUV, and finally, some low-rolling-resistance tires for our Prius Prime. They always offered respectful and professional advice that was appropriate for my situation; there was never any up-selling. In fact, on multiple occasions, they recommended a less-expensive option that performed better than the more-expensive name-brand alternative. They earned this review after recently buying some off-brand tires that happened to underperform; I was within the return-window and they installed a new set of premium tires...no-questions-asked. I just paid a small charge for the difference in tire price. Lets be honest. There are 2 sides to every story. You can say whatever you want about TFT of Southport. I have been a customer to long to say anything negative about this place. Since Ed has transferred to Danbury we now have Matt. Matt is the epitome of not only a good sales person but a great individual. Honesty, integrity, and a genuine concern for your needs. I'm not even sure what happened here. Woke up to a flat tire. Filled with pump. As I was unscrewing the compressor from the valve stem, air started leaking out. Yikes. Home alone with my two young kids, only car for the weekend. Saturday morning at 9:00. What to do? Luckily I had run flats so I knew I could get somewhere. Called Firestone. They were too busy, and said I'd need to leave it. Friends had talked about TFT before, so I figured I'd head over. Friendly greeting, they listened to what was wrong, took a quick look, and then said sit tight. A short time later, I walked behind the building to see my car on their lift and tire off. 20 minutes later, car set, fixed, tire like new. Cost? FREE. NADA. ZIP. WHAT?!?! Couldn't believe it. Rude, condescending, unhelpful men at the front counter. Bought all 4 tires through TF (2 here & 2 a few months later in Norwalk) yet this location "can't find the Norwalk purchase" Honestly - they can't link computers yet? One tire has been leaking slowly for over a year. I have brought it back numerous times. I've been told something different on each occasion - a slow pinpoint leak they "fixed", it continued "the rim was leaking, we've fixed it", it continued 2 more times. Today I was told by Matt that the sensor was "bubbling & causing the leak" but when I picked it up another gruff employee said the sensor doesn't cause leaks. When I questioned this, he argued and became even ruder. I told him that I was frustrated with the lack of service and ability to remedy this & that they should replace the tire - he did not care. $81 for a sensor. Don't go here if you want reliable & friendly service - After writing this review last night, I received a phone call from TF today from Tommy offering to comp me for the sensor by refunding my money. I had a great experience at TFT yesterday. I had a flat and knew that I needed new tires already. I'm a longtime customer of TFT and knew they'd come through. I walked in and Matt took care of me and got me good tires at a good price. The work was done quickly and I was on my way soon. He not only apologized on behalf of Town Fair Tire, but made steps to accommodate us. Upon arriving to the Fairfield location, we were greeted by Jonathan who was also very polite, knowledgeable and helpful even prior to realizing we were there for a follow-up appointment. We crawled off the exit in Southport near Post road. When I saw the Town Fair Tire sign ! I called the shop and Matt had our vehicle in sight. Without hesitation he waived me over and said he would take care of the problem. This seems like an ordinary task , but they were closing. It was after 7 pm. I simply cannot recommend this place. My son was leaving to go to Denver Colorado the following day so he took his car in for an alignment and tire rotation. He got a call from Town Fair Tire saying that the car was ready to pick up which was early in the morning. My son was working so he did not pick the car up until later that afternoon. When he picked it up the gentlemen after taking his money at the counter said well there are a couple of issues. First of all we couldn't rotate the tires because we could not get the back wheel off because of a too-tight lug nut and we couldn't complete the alignment because a couple of the nuts on the tie rod were frozen and we couldn't get them off. So it was late that afternoon and no one could do the job so we had to wait until early the next morning to have it done by mechanic just delaying my son's trip until late morning. All this could have been resolved had when they called my son instead of just saying your car is ready for pickup, they would have told him the situation and the car could have been retrieved earlier and taken to a mechanic and all problems solved that same day. Additionally Town Fair Tire cannot do any mechanical work whatsoever. So if even the slightest problem exists, you have to take it to a nearby garage to a mechanic to get it resolved. read more

This tire company has no integrity.. Period! I am trying to purchase Michelin Energy Saver tires for my 2010 Prius. I stopped by the Southport store without an appointment and the staff was courteous and quoted me $125 per tire plus all the extras for balancing, valve stems, alignment, ect. I told them that I need to think about it and then the salesman told met they match any price I can find and will beat it by 5%. I was impressed and decided to do some research. Now it gets frustrating. I found a price of $109 per tire on TireRack.Com. I printed out the ad, calculated 95% as $103.55 per tire and asked them to get the tires and honor this price. Heres where the problem started. They continuously double talked me and would not honor their proposal. Multiple excuses ranging from shipping costs from one of their stores to another to "the salesman does not understand the program". I am a simple consumer looking for a fair deal. I did not ask for a discount, they offered. Trying to keep my business actually lost it. Know any fair tire dealers out there? read more

I showed up yesterday morning without an appointment after I sliced open my tire hitting a curb. They found a suitable tire (not easy with run flats) and had me out the door within 30 minutes. You MIGHT be able to find things cheaper on the internet and yes theres a lot of competition out there but they are very reasonable and its about service for me. I was told by several people to come to this specific location (not Norwalk). The salesman who helped me was Matt and I felt he was competent and courteous. I was driving on a spare and needed a new tire but Matt showed me how my other front tire was about a mile away from a real problem. He was concerned without being condescending, which is a nice change for a female dealing with any male in the automotive field. I did have to wait about an hour and a half, but they changed two tires and fixed my alignment. I don't think I could've gotten a better price anywhere. All in all, a good experience. read more

Purchased a gift certificate at an auction for complete tire check-up and alignment. My wife brought the car in, they said it would take over an hour, and after 10 minutes they said that they were finished. When she asked why it was completed so fast, they said she probably lost track of time. I have also had bad experiences there, such as coming in for a tire rotation, and after waiting, having them say they couldn't perform the rotation because my tires were too worn -- classic bait and switch. Absolutely the worst experience ever. "Matt" was dismissive and condescending. He was rude and loud. ( I Have purchased four sets of tires here at this location.) Just went in to get tires rotated. My vehicle didn't even enter the bay until 45 minutes after my appointment time. And only because I went up to see if it was ready. ( I was told I'd be in and out in 15 minutes when I made the appointment) AND...after the rotation, my vehicle made a horrific noise when applying brakes. When I called to speak with the ever friendly Matt about the noise,he told me it was my brakes. I told him my brakes were new and it didn't sound like brakes. Matt felt that since I wasn't a mechanic he would explain to me , slowly, that if my car made noise while applying the brakes, it was the brakes. But...the noise continued to come back in. I took my vehicle elsewhere ( needless to say) to see what the deal was. It was NOT my brakes, it was the metal backing plate rubbing a brake rotor. I'll be going elsewhere in the future. read more

I give Matt and crew a 5-star rating for the following reason: I bought new tires for my Ford F-150 from a dealership about a year ago. One tire got punctured by a nail and the dealership could not plug it successfully and I was informed by them I would have to buy a new tire. Luckily for me, the expert mechanics at Southport's Town Fair Tire patched the same tire successfully on the inside of the tire. Lesson learned: You need tires? Go to the professionals that deal in tires. P.S. They informed me that they sell tires to the auto dealers. Why not avoid the middle-man? read more

Town Fair Tire and Tommy are the BEST! My son was told by the car dealer that all four tires needed replacement because they had sidewall "bubbles" from road hazards (!) after 10,000 miles. The tire manufacturer, Continental, said they'd replace them and gave me a claim number. Tommy and staff at Town Fair Tires removed EACH tire from its rim, inspected them all and assured us the tires were all FINE! Had we listened to the car dealer, we would have been out $750.
