I love the fact that this restaurant accommodates several different types of allergies in addition to special dietary needs like vegan and vegetarian. I like that they tend to carry healthier options and better quality products. However, on my last visit, I was quite disappointed. I saw on the menu that they now carry Elmhurst oat milk and almond milk. I drink only Elmhurst nut milk at my home daily or I make my own nut milk. so I am extremely familiar with how Elmhurst nut milk taste compared to other nut milk that have different additives to them. They have a lovely coffee espresso menu however, the people taking the order and making the coffee drinks have no idea what they're doing. When you're spending five or six dollars For a coffee you expect it to be done correctly the way you ordered it. I wanted a macchiato, but that wasn't on the menu and they didn't really understand what that was. So I ordered an espresso with a tablespoon of Elmhurst almond milk in it. I was very specific. There is an up charge for the Elmhurst nut milk. She asked, "is that like a latte?" I said absolutely not a latte has almost equal amounts or more milk than coffee. This is literally an espresso with a splash of nut milk. What I received was something a little bit more similar to a cappuccino, and there was no way that Elmhurst nut milk was used in that. It was so apparent to me that I went up to the cash register and said I ordered Elmhurst nut milk in this espresso and the woman said it was that. There is no way it was Elmhurst. All other nut milk product have a very distinct Flavor that takes away from the coffee. Elmhurst does not have that. I know my nut milks. Very disappointing especially for the price point. The other item I ordered was their beef curry, but instead of beef, I had sushi with it. It was a beautiful presentation, and it would've been perfect and extremely delicious. Had there not been so much sodium in it. This was way over salted I could barely taste the food. The sushi was separate from the bowl itself With just sesame seeds, but it had a lot of oils on it. I didn't care for that either. We purchased the spicy cauliflower tacos. They were OK a bit flavorless with a lot of oil. I'm not sure why they're putting so much oil on everything. It came with an Italian dressing which was halfway decent and then some type of a mayonnaise. If the mayonnaise had had Sriracha in it or something to give it some flavor it might've been a little better. I still recommend this place for anybody with allergies or trying to eat a special diet of vegan or vegetarian. It has great options and is relatively healthy food. read more

I've been here about 5 times and it's always been great! Love their outdoor patio which is also dog friendly! Servers are energetic and nice and I've never had issues. Happy hour is 3-6PM weekdays for drinks only. My server Mahi was so nice and said I could do a cosmo with the happy hour which isn't a drink on the menu but it worked for just the type of vodka used. Loved it. So good!!! Ordered the poke bowl and it was bomb! Love that there's a decent amount of toppings on top. Paid $1 extra for cucumber noodles and would recommend! this establishment charges a substantial fee for using a credit card, but they do not post it anywhere in the restaurant or on the menu. the only way you'll know you're being surcharged is when you get the bill. this is illegal in ohio. when i was there, they surcharged even though i paid cash. i think they just plain didn't know how to deal with a person who is actually paying cash. the waitress told me they also charge the fee for debit cards. this is completely illegal in ohio and in most states. you should refuse to pay these service fees by subtracting the fee amount from the final bill and alerting the management about your dissatisfaction. read more

This was an interesting establishment that is focused on modern healthy. Much larger than it looks from the street... there are several options for seating & service. You can order on the digital menus right inside the door- but I don't suggest because they don't load the full menu & it's actually more of a confusing pain. It's best to go straight to the counter. From there, you can choose a table inside, street-side seating or back patio. If you want to get cozy, choose a table inside & select one of their board games free to play while you wait. I don't recommend the street-side because their bar stools are fixed. And the wooden tabletop is designed awkward to where you'll only comfortably fit if you are the size of a Barbie. It was directly in the sun, a lot of foot traffic & uncomfortable. When we moved to a back patio table, the experience was a LOT better. The place is pretty busy & for a reason- there is a lot of good selection here. Almost everything can be customized, and the health focus is surely a bonus. We really loved the reverse osmosis water station. The cocktail I ordered off the menu was decent. Don't ask for a double because they don't know what that means (I was literally told "let me ask" before the answer of "you can order a second drink"). The cocktail was good, but overpriced for the contents. The Brussels sprouts was literally the best part. That was something to write home about! The trick with this dish is the nutritional yeast. Plentiful portion for the simple cost of a side dish. Others in my group ordered a variety of offerings from the menu & were more than satisfied. Everything looked really good & the wait time for a busy Saturday wasn't bad at all. They have TV screens to watch the sporting events. It was lovely to sit on the patio early afternoon, but it got a little too hot sitting directly in the sun. Installing misters would be a huge plus for summer months! But there was adequate shading with umbrellas if you're lucky enough to snag that seating arrangement. Otherwise, most of the staff were very accommodating & helpful. The wait time was not at all noticeable, they were very prompt & have great customer service. I'm glad this place was a chosen spot for lunch/drinks as we explored the area. I really wanted to like this place. It has a fun, trendy vibe but the food just wasn't that good. We got the truffle fries to start and share. I wanted more truffle flavor but the fries were good. Then, I got the Hawaiian Roll as a starter and it wasn't fresh. For my meal I did the picanha and it came with Brussels sprouts, sweet potatoes and mushrooms. The sweet potatoes were the star. I'm a huge picanha fan and we cook it at home, and this didn't compare. It was a really tough piece of meat which doesn't make sense. I was disappointed. read more

Order was never placed even though I called it in. They gave me the option to pay over the phone or in person, so I opted in person. But instead of calling me back (they had my number and rewards number), they just didn't place the order so we showed up ready to pick it up, no food. So we placed the order, it got lost. My friends and I went to Cleveland from Columbus for the weekend and came to Townhall for brunch on a Sunday morning. We arrived around 11:45 and were placed on a waitlist that they texted us when the table was ready. When you walk-in they have a hand washing station that has a very cute sign over it. We waited about 15 minutes before we were seated so not bad at all. I ordered the Breakfast Tacos which has chorizo, egg, sweet potato, kale, and queso fresco but seemed to be missing something. That's why I gave the rating 4 stars instead of 5. I would've preferred if there was avocado on it. My friend ordered the paleo cassava coconut hotcake on the side and that was my favorite. Visited Townhall with a friend and enjoyed my time there. I came on Wednesday night spontaneously, and it was relatively crowded, but we were able to find seating quickly. I got the Korean barbecue pizza with no cilantro, which was pretty good, though definitely on the saltier side. The truffle fries are incredible and very crispy, though I will say that the aïoli is not my favorite, as I think it's too watery. My friend got the burger and really enjoyed it! My biggest gripe was with the fact that her food came out way before mine, even though we ordered at the same time. I think they were having some issues with no cilantro on my flatbread, but ended up bringing me out a second pizza with no cilantro, which I really appreciated. i usually don't like going here because TownHall is notorious for not being the nicest to POC but i cannot deny how good the food is. My martini was perfect and so was my food. The Benedict comes with bacon but their bacon kind of reminds me of pork belly which i really loved. It kind of melts in your mouth. I came in with a group of 5 on a Saturday around noon so the restaurant was packed as you can imagine. We waited about 20 minutes for a table and had fast service. The wait wasn't awful (45min) but it was DEFINITELY a popular place to eat! Our server was nice, but she wasn't great at her job, she was really our only "complaint" about our experience and that's only because she was so distracted with flirting with the table of 3 guys next to ours (she even took a shot with them at one point, which seemed a little inappropriate, but who am I to judge) and really only checked on us (literally RIGHT NEXT TO the table of guys - who by the way, weren't even eating, they were nursing waters and 1 of them had an alcoholic beverage) when we flagged her down to ask for something. All in all, the service was disappointing (I'm hoping it was just a fluke), but the food was more than worth it! We stopped here for lunch on the way to the airport on a Thursday afternoon. We were seated right away. Our server was helpful, attentive and excellent. The atmosphere was open, well decorated and clean. We got the sweet potato skins to start, which were full of flavor, with a Korean twist. My entree was the southern chicken sandwich with truffle fries. The sandwich was crispy, toppings were fresh and the chicken patty seemed to have some Mediterranean or Indian spices in the batter. The sandwich was much lighter than most southern chicken sandwiches. It didn't put me in a coma like most of them do. Truffle fries were well seasoned, battered and delicious. What I loved about this place is it feels like the food here is all fresh ingredients, health conscious, and tons of gluten sensitive, dairy free options. You can even get a custom cup of bone broth, which I intend to try next time I'm in Ohio. Highly recommend. read more

We arrived on a busy Friday night and were worried that we would need to wait, but we must have hit the timing right. We had a mere 10 minute wait before getting seated on the patio, under heaters. The staff was super- nice and we were able to order and get served at a good pace. We had the grilled cheese sticks with tomato bisque, chopped salad, Japanese curry bowl, a burger, and the Nashville chicken sandwich. Everything was delicious and there were nothing but empty plates when we were finished. So delicious! read more

The power went out in what felt like half the city. I'm not sure if this is a regular occurence in Cleveland (my first visit) or if it was just because of my own raw animal magnetism throwing off the power grid, but the restaurant we planned on hitting up wasn't seating anyone. Townhall, however, was conveniently located, huge, and had both electricity and a table for us in under 5 minutes. We proceeded to take entirely too much advantage of their excellent taplist and wonderful hospitality, and I will never regret ordering their tasty burger (served with excellent fries). My wife opted for the grilled cheese bars, and although I can't say I wouldn't have preferred them cut in triangles just like my mommy used to, I also can't say I didn't enjoy stealing a bar or two from her plate. Best place to eat in Cleveland. It's good food with fun. Townhall is one if the livelier places. Always busy. You may not be able to find a table but there's usually bar seats. Cool stuff to drink and eat. If getting something vegan friendly there's lots to choose from. There's also lots of less healthy options. Alcohol is always good and there's lots here. They have a lot of local brewers on tap. I came with a female friend and we sat at the bar. We got a couple of local beers they had. I had a Tropical beer. It's about $5 for a pint. This is just one of the many on tap. I was impressed by the menu. They have lots of choices for vegans. It was cold so I wanted to get something hot. The vegan chili sounded like an excellent option. It's about $3.50 for a small bowl. This comes with vegan cheese on top. I would like to explore more of the choices here. It has an excellent vegan selection. The place always seems to be busy but usually you can find seats at the bar if you don't mind being next to other people. read more

Truffle fries were pretty good and oddly the sauce served with them tastes like mayo (possibly the base and the person mixing the batch that day just didn't get it right), so worth a second try. I'm writing this review after eating at Townhall three times. I have to say that every single time I've eaten here, the service was great and the food was AMAZING! I've tried my best to venture and try different foods every time I've come to Townhall and nothing has disappointed me. My go-to favourite is probably their Wild Poke Bowl (sub cucumber noodles). It's very refreshing and makes me feel like I deserve all the truffle fries in the world. Truffle fries is definitely something that you MUST get when you come here. It's the perfect crispness for fries and the truffle flavour is perfect. The fries aren't covered in oil like other places that you can get truffle fries either--this is probably the best truffle fries I've had to date. Their wine and craft beer menu is extremely large, and it's all colour coded for all the different types of beers that they have. I would love for them to have flights so that I can try multiple different drinks all at once. It'll take me a while to try everything on their drinks menu. There's 90-minute free parking if you park at the West Side Market and enter through their back door. This makes it convenient to dine here without worrying about parking downtown. read more

This is the second time I've been to Townhall while in the Cleveland area visiting my family. The first time we enjoyed the Sunday Brunch, which was absolutely phenomenal. This time we came back to try the lunch options, and they definitely did not disappoint. We ordered the Sweet Potato Skins as an appetizer. The combination of flavors was absolutely perfect. I believe it usually comes with 3 in an order but the server added a 4th for us so we could all enjoy one. I could have eaten 4 more, they are by far the best potato skin appetizer I've ever had. I enjoyed the Veggie Burger on the Keto Gluten Free Bun as my main course with the side of Truffle Fries. I am no longer vegan but have heard such amazing things about the vegetarian options here that I had to give it a try. It definitely did not disappoint. The burger itself was incredibly flavorful, the bun paired nicely while still accommodating my food restrictions and the truffle fries were absolutely delicious. This is my favorite place to eat in Cleveland and I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town. read more
