He came back to his desk after about 15 minutes and I told him my car was finished but he walked off again and could not be located even when his name was announced over the loud speaker. Finally I found him to get the paperwork but he didn't know where the fob was to my car. The cashier had to go find him to get the fob to my vehicle. RG knew I was waiting for the service and obviously had no respect for my time and good customer service. Then when I read the print out the cabin filter should have been replaced but even though I gave them my cell phone number and I was sitting in the waiting area there was no communication or I would have agreed to it. The parts department and cashier are awesome and helped me with everything they could. read more

Not thrilled at all with servicing my Camry. Rolled in at 8:30am because my gear would not shift out of Park. Apparently, this is a very common problem that has persisted in many Toyotas for years because the brake light switch has an open circuit. My service advisor, an asst manager, was very nice and is great at small talk. He promised that he'd know why I was experiencing this issue by noon/1pm. That was fine by me, so I decided to use the courtesy shuttle to be dropped off at my house. I was a little disappointed that I did not get a free courtesy vehicle as other reviewers have, but it was no big deal. By 3pm, I received no update from my advisor, so I called to make sure I'd be able to retrieve a fixed car by the end of the day since the last shuttle runs at 4pm. I was told that I'd be in the schedule for the last shuttle and that the car would most likely be ready a little after I arrived. So I waited outside my complex for the shuttle. 40 minutes pass because I assumed that the driver was dropping off and picking up other passengers ... At this point, I realize that I give the benefit of the doubt too freely to businesses. So I call to make sure I wasn't forgotten. Turns out I was. So I go back to my house because I am tired of waiting and looking like a dummy waiting for a ride. No apologies for the wait and inconvenience. By this point, I am just happy to get my car back and drive down Shaw to pick up some dry cleaning. At a red light at Shaw and Cedar, my car stalls! W-T-F!!! Rush hour in front of CSU Fresno =P A while ago, I was in a car accident involving a stalled vehicle, so I am freaking out because I do not want a repeat. This car has never stalled, so I am livid when the Toyota service operator puts me on hold to flag down my advisor. He says he will send a tow truck over, but I manage to get my car started. Before I return, I call my husband who postulated that my idle RPM wasn't reset. Something that can be done in 5 min! At the dealership, the advisor promises that the car will be checked. Then I wait for a free courtesy vehicle because I am car-less. I inform him that I want to idle RPM reset, but I get a blank look. He offers a hybrid Camry, but I said, "Whatever is fine" because honestly I am tired and would have preferred anything but a Toyota. I wait around for another hour because the courtesy car "has to be cleaned" but when it rolls around, I see that there are crumbs all over the center console. Nice. Thanks for lying. The next day, I get a call from the manager saying that fixing the recall issue (unintended acceleration) commonly found in Toyotas caused the car to stall because the computer has to "reset." If it were as 'simple' as that, why wasn't I told this before I headed out of the garage? On the final paperwork, the technican recorded that "vehicle's [sic] stayed at 600." Hmmm, really. FAIL. We all know that servicing a car at the dealership is a total rip-off unless you have a warranty. Total labor was $266.85 and total parts was $75.54. End of the day, I was a sucker but felt I had no choice because I have yet to find an honest mechanic here. In short, you may get an advisor who is very friendly to your face but not detail-oriented and doesn't care about wasting his customer's time. Frankly, I can do without the free doughnuts, macadamian cookies, mocha maker, and 2 flatscreens because I'd rather not waste 1.5 days fixing my piece of sh*t Toyota- a brand that has been resting on its laurels and shortchanging customers. We're trading this clunker in for an Acura. You've lost Toyota customers. (Guess what, Toyota no longer tops reliability lists. Big surprise.) read more

Second and last 4-5 hour service with an appointment. I feel bad for the service writers and techs it's not their fault, whoever sets the shop load in that place is either greedy or an idiot. Making people wait like that is going to do nothing but lose more customers, there were three other people that I talked to in the waiting area that had been there as long or longer than me for a service. Went there over the weekend to purchase a 2014 FJ cruiser. My sales person (Sherwin) was Awesome however his managers were complete idiots. I found an FJ Cruiser at Madera Auto Center for several thousand dollars cheaper than what Clovis was offering. Sherwin did everything he could to get the deal to work but when it came down to it, we took our business to Madera Auto Center and got superb business so I guess I have to thank Clovis Toyota for telling me "good luck trying to get that price there". read more

I've been bringing my Scion XB here for service since I purchased it six years ago.. There have been a couple of hiccups, but overall I was pretty happy. Happy enough to return for service even after I moved out of the area...which isn't that big of a deal because I have family in town. Recently, I took my car in for service, a wash, and vacuum. As always, I made sure they wouldn't spray any nasty odors, air freshener, whatever in my car. I am sensitive to odors, get migraines, and also travel with a parrot. All commercial air fresheners are deadly to parrots. Period. No exceptions. Well, I got in my car, and it smelled like it had been hosed down with eau de baby bottom. Seriously. It was a cloying, super sweet baby powder odor. I was now stuck out of town in a car I couldn't drive. My service adviser was very nice and concerned and said he wanted to make it right, but this is not something that can be undone. Nevertheless, he went to get his manager, and the manager proceeded to tell me the air freshener was safe for parrots!! He admitted he didn't own a bird but felt comfortable telling me what was safe for them. He did offer a loaner car or to keep the car at the shop to air out, but none of that would allow me to get home and was a pretty pointless gesture. To add insult to injury, the car was still dirty inside. They had vacuumed the floors but left some garden soil in the back and the center area and dash were dirty. Their "detailing" consisted of a slap dash vacuum and hosing it down with a noxious odor. So, to sum up, I still don't have my car. I had to loan it to family in town and borrow one of theirs to get home. I'm still waiting for our schedules to align so I can get my car back.. This is a car I have NEVER loaned to anyone before. Parrot issues aside, many people nowadays are sensitive to odors, and I can't believe this dealership would spray down someone's car with such a strong odor. My family's reaction to the odor was a big WTF when they smelled it, as well. They aren't sensitive, but the odor was absolutely horrible. Needless to say, I'll never be back. read more

They gave me the lame excuse that the technician were in a meeting! Bought my first vehicle here back in 1993 when it was Bingham Toyota. So so experience back then with a basic short bed stick shift pickup truck. Paid full msrp, as I was young and naive, and didn't know better. That 1993 truck was a piece of crap, no power anything, clumsy and rough shifter. A semi lemon was what I got sold back then. Flash forward to 2012, I walk into the dealership, looking for a new 2013 Corolla to lease for my Mom, as she has a 2003 model with 150K+. It was late in the evening, and the salesman seemed honest and sincere. Took a test drive, wasn't at all impressed with the 2013 Corolla. Very light and erratic steering, cheap plastic steering wheel and auto shifter knob. Complete opposite of the 2003 corolla s model, which had leather, and a tight responsive steering control. Anyways, the standard 'let me check the numbers with my manager routine', the sales guy came back with ridiculous numbers for a standard 3 year lease on a Corolla. Off by over 50 bucks a month. He had at least 4 managers at the desk, who had a pow wow over an offer, and not one of them came over to negotiate in person, or had any intention of customer service, let alone trying to sell a car. I did tip off the sales guy earlier that I was very knowledgeable about cars and was in car sales in the past, so this could have had an impact on the managers' indifference. This is very typical of Toyota dealers in general. A higher than thou attitude and perception that they and their cars are worth gold. Me thinks not. The other day I went in to Toyota of Clovis with my parents to look at an SUV that they had for sell. The salesman approached us promptly and very respectfully. However, when it came down to my parents wanting to purchase the car and work out the numbers, the Finance Manager's body language and tone came off as a very degrading demeanor towards my parents & which that point I was done willing to work a deal with him. He just came off very disrespectful with his choice of words and I personally felt like it was because my mom had just left work to seal the deal & dad had just got off of his job of working on cars all day. When purchasing my 3Prius, Bingham had the second highest price for a package III model. I ended up not buying from them. I'm also pretty young, so I was pretty much ignored by all the salespeople until I negotiated with the manager. But, I use them to do my oil change since they're next to my house. I've had my oil changed at their dealership 3 times, at 5000, 25,000 and 40,000 miles. The first time I brought my Prius in for the oil change, the initial inspection went by quickly and they wrote up my oil change and tire rotation in 10 minutes. But, when I was waiting for my car to be pulled forward into the service hanger, a technician was inspecting and putting the mats in my car, and another curious customer came to take a look at my prius. I don't mind other people observing my car from the inside; we're in a public space after all, but the technician started explaining the feature of my car and letting him poke his head inside my car to have a quick look around. That car is my personal property, not a dealership demo vehicle. I talked to the service manager afterwards over the phone since he wasn't in his office at that time to complain, but he seemed in a hurry but seemed to pass me off as another annoying customer. My personal experience was unsettling. I gave them another chance, hoping it was just a bad employee or service manager there. This time, it went a lot more smoothly ever since. Bottom Line: Sales Experience - if you're young, sales team passes you off like any other dealership. bleh. I've been taking my car here since I got it in October 2018. They used to be on top of their services and made customer satisfaction a priority. Seems as though as time has progressed, their attention to customer satisfaction has declined. I have had several issues when I come in. I ask the advisors very specific questions about my vehicle and am always treated like I don't know what I'm talking about. They do not address my additional concerns when I come in for service and I've had to come back days after for issues that I had mentioned to the advisor but they didn't address while my vehicle came in the initial time. After coming in for a recall, I had mechanics toss around medical equipment to gain access to my back seat. When I received my vehicle, I had a few thousand dollars worth of medical equipment and medication tossed in the trunk carelessly. If I would have known they needed access yo the back seat I would have moved it to the trunk on my own. The service and attention to customer needs has gone downhill. I have always brought my vehicle to get serviced at the dealership to hold them accountable for my vehicles maintenance and I may have to begin taking it elsewhere due to my continued lack of service when I come in. read more

Just took 4Runner to get services today. I called in this morning and was told that it was to late today to drop in, but that Toyota of Clovis did offer a "twilight service." Twilight service, what the heck is that??? The lady on the phone proceeded to tell me that upon request, you can drop your car off between 2pm to 430pm and get a rental car from Enterprise at the expense of Toyota of Clovis. Your car will remain overnight with them and get serviced by around 12pm the next day. My jaw nearly dropped that this service was even offered! Yes you have the hassle of getting the car from enterprise and you have to bring the invoice d back to Toyota, but still I was surprised that they would even consider doing this! I ended up not going through with it since the service advisor told me the car would be ready by 4pm (dropped it off at 2:15pm). Got a call around 3:30pm and car was ready. They even washed it! Ended up with a bullshit finance company with an APR of 19.9% when he told me it was 18%. Once everything got finalized the company I'm financed with says the car cost $25,500. I am way overdue in writing this review and that is only because I have had so much to deal with lately.. And that is exactly why the excellent experience I had at Clovis Toyota is so important to share. For most of us, car buying is something we face with less than excitement anymore as dealing with the sales process can be daunting right? Well try doing this TWICE in one month. Yep. Its a terrible long story but I owned the same very reliable little suv for 13 years. I saved and saved for a small down payment and researched what I wanted in a new car and sold my beloved suv all by myself on Craigslist in preperation to get a reliable Toyota. I went to 'another' dealership much closer to where I live and they helped me find an Avalon that I loved. Sadly, two weeks into ownership I had a terrifying car crash caused by another driver that totalled my new car. The first auto accident I had ever been in of my life. But the Avalon saved my life, all of the new safety features and airbags are the reason I am alive today. But I seriously put off even looking for a replacement vehicle for two weeks just dreading having to start over the purchase process that I felt I barely survived the first time around and I was very proud of the deal I had managed to secure on my used Avalon. How would I ever find the same car, much less secure the same deal? Well after having a negative experience learning that you can NOT buy a certified pre owned Toyota from a non Toyota dealership, I set out to scour Toyota dealerships in California for the Avalon just like mine. Clovis Toyota was advertising one online, just what I needed! However many times dealerships advertise a car online but don't reallly have it, or at another price. But I called and got Joaquin, my amazing salesperson. He told me my Avalon was there and patiently heard my horrible story thru. He realized that I would not be able to pay more to buy the same car I had just purchased, and that gathering a second down payment to replace the now lost one was going to be hard on me. He also realized that Clovis was over an hour and a half away so he did his best to help me prequalify financially online ahead of time to save everyones time and efforts. My family helped me to drive down the next day and Joaquin helped me purchase the exact Avalon that I needed, helping me secure the monthly payment I could afford and making me feel completely stress free and happy. He spent time explaining many things about the car that had not been explained to me when I bought my earlier car. I was so pleasantly suprised I can't begin to tell you what a great experience it was and I wasn't the only person in my family impressed with Joaquin. I even had some concerns once I got home and he was receptive and immediately responded wanting to make sure I am very happy with my new purchase. I have been through so much the last month and I had doubts about driving so far to purchase a car. We were met by an amazing young lady named Stephanie. She didn't bombard us with a million questions she didn't try to show me 5 different models of cars like other dealerships. She was so sweet and made figuring out what I wanted easy. She was also able to answer every question we had with ease (I've had bad sales consultants at other dealerships who knew NOTHING about the cars I had test driven). When it came to signing paperwork Daniel was very quick to explain everything and was very apologetic about the wait time to meet with him. Before we drove off they took the time to fill up the tank of my NEW car and cleaned up the inside and outside. So...if you wanted to sell a car, you might want to actually care like you want to make a sale. Thanks for asking if I needed help...but any help that was provided after was pathetic. I came to have maintenance done on my car and as I waited I was looking at cars. A salesperson asked if I needed help and I mentioned I currently have a lease but was just curious to how it works if I a) wanted to buy my car, or b) if I wanted to buy a newer car. He took me to his station and asked for my vin number. I didn't know it. Then he said "they gave you papers didn't they from maintenance?" Seriously bad attitude buddy. I said "why, yes they did!" He pulled up my car and printed out the remaining info and said I'd have to just go and finance that amount from my bank and walked away. No asking if I had questions (which I did), nor helping me with a quote or additional info on a different car I was interested in. Update: after receiving my complaint, the staff contacted me promptly and worked to resolve the issue. For my trouble, they offered to refund my diagnosis and a $100 future service credit. I think this shows that they provide quality customer service and want to work with customers -- something I never disputed. The issue of price still remains though, so my review goes from one to two stars. Original review: Worst repair experience of my young life. I will never be back here and have told numerous friends to avoid them. Let me be clear to begin: I understand that getting serviced at a dealership is more expensive, but am typically ok with that for the convenience (they'll probably have the part and are more familiar with the specific make of the car, especially when it comes to Toyotas). I previously took my car to Michael toyota in fresno and, while it was expensive, I didn't feel like I was ripped off because I knew it would be more expensive. I went into this experience with the same expectation, but was surprised to find this location is far more expensive. For a job that should take a single person 30 minutes or less (fuel pump replacement), I was quoted over $600 in labor. I decided to take my car elsewhere and was still charged over $150 for the diagnosis, after I had told them prior to bringing it in what the issue was. I will never look/purchase a car from this dealership. on 2/19/21 my boyfriend, mother and myself pulled up to the dealership, while looking for somewhere to park, not much parking, we looked over to get some help and there was a group of salesman all looking on their phones not even paying attention. (1) After parking we started walking toward Rav-4's, once we got to them a salesman walked up, the cars were on the other side of the lot. (2) We didn't get the gentleman's name he was talking so fast. (3) We asked for a specific color interior and exterior, his comment was "I don't know what colors they come in and we shouldn't choose that interior". We ignored his comment and then asked for a brochure for the colors and he directed us to review online or go inside. Didn't offer to find them for us. (4) We were looking at a specific car on the lot and asked to open up the back to review and it was backed against a pile of rocks. He opened it and waited for us to come around. I walked on them and almost fell, not stable at all. If he would have gone and gotten the key we could have reviewed it some more and possibly test drove.
