It's here! Providence's own food hall, Track 15, has arrived at the station- literally, because it's at the old Union Hall train station. Food halls are essentially fancier food courts, and this one is as trendy as any other one I've been in around the country. What's cool is that it's in the train station, so think brick walls and wooden tables and metal chairs. The menus above each restaurant look like train timetables, and if an item is sold out it'll say "departed" which is so cute. There are currently 7 restaurant options and a bar. There's a pizza place called Mother's (the pizza looked really good), a Mediterranean option, an Indian option called Little Chaska (from the talent at Chaska and Kabob and Curry), Dune Brothers Seafood, tacos at a place called Dolores, a burger place, and an Italian place called guisto. First off, everything looked amazing. We walked around to read each menu before making our decision as these aren't posted online, and watching people walk around with their trays of food was also impactful. My cousin and I both decided on Dune Brothers, which I've always wanted to try, and it was fantastic! My cousin loved her fish sandwich, which she got with Old Bay fries. I had the clam cakes and chowder, which was also delicious. Definitely one of the better chowders I've had in a while! The clam cakes were crispier than what I'm used to but still good- and when you dipped it in the tartar sauce it really elevated it. Their tartar sauce was soooo good! It was very lemony, and I'll be thinking about it for a while!! Oh, and if you want water, you can grab some at the bar. They had pitchers out with empty glasses if you just wanted water! So how it works is you walk in, look around, and when you decide what you want to eat you just order it from that counter. You can then go find a seat somewhere, there are long communal tables and some smaller ones, and they'll text you when your food is ready, and you go back to the same counter to get it. Then enjoy! A staff member bussed our table for it, but if she wasn't around you'd just go to the trash and return the tray there, I believe. Now, parking is paid at one of two locations. The garage under the hotel next door or at the surface lot next to the place. You can get parking validated for both and get a discount of $5 I think it was for 2 hours. I chose the garage, which was a bit hectic. We had to drive all the way to the bottom to grab one of the last spots there. The guy who parked next to us thought we weren't even allowed to park there because a paper taped to a column read something like "Attention! This area is monitored hourly. If you are found in this area the police will remove you." seeing as it didn't say "no parking," I took it to be a warning to loiterers. The other guy, however, got nervous and left to park somewhere else. The garage is staffed though. The exit to the garage takes you right to Track15's entrance though! To validate parking, there are kiosks at the doors in the food hall. You have to scan your parking ticket on an iPad, and then scan it again on a different screen to pay for it. Although you could probably do that second step when you pull out of the garage. Probably. Anyways, I'm glad Track 15 is finally here and I can't wait to return to try the other vendors! I hope as it gets warmer, they partner with some sort of ice cream truck to park outside. There's no dedicated sweet treat vendor inside and I think that's a must! Although the pizza place did sell ice cream and the Italian place sold tiramisu... I think more is in order as it gets warmer! read more

Went here last week on the grand opening. There were a lot of different food vendors to try from and they also had an open drink bar. One of the vendors I went to was called There There. I believe this restaurant was originally located in Newport, RI. I had the T.T. Chicken. This sandwich was delicious and full of flavor. It was a busy day but service was fast, friendly and efficient. The sitting area was modern and had comfortable lounge sitting area. We like most of the food and the bar is really good. Prices are a bit high for a food hall with no table service. It's nearby and easy when you need options. Unfortunately, sometimes it's hard to find a table that's clean and sometimes the music is really loud even though it's a random weeknight and it doesn't seem like anything's going on. Craving a lobster roll I head to Dune Bros at Track 15. The space is very nice, lots of tables and chairs, its a big place. Unfortunately my lobster roll was meh. The lobster meat tasted old and a bit tough, no sweetness at all. The top split bun looked good but once I picked it up it fell apart. I used a fork to eat the lobster and left the bun. The fries ($5 upcharge) were okay. It was expensive lesson. I think my beer at the bar was $7. Lots and lots of tipping involved for basically self service. I came in and had There There. It was so good and their little pop-ups are delicious. There's a lot of options in a bar. It is super expensive, especially to park. We were there and played trivia and our parking alone was about $30 each. That's crazy. If I can't find parking on the street next time, I'm just going to go somewhere else. Because parking on top of the price of food and drinks makes this a very expensive night out. The ambience is nice and everything is really well done. In the former Union Station in downtown Providence, this food hall brings together sooo many options to eat that at times it can be overwhelming because you just don't know what to choose to eat! My friend and I decided that on a summer day, Dune Bros was the way to go! I got white chowder & 3 clam cakes & she decided on the fish sandwich. The person who took our order was very polite & pointed out that the sandwich didn't come with any extras; but had a good helping of slaw on the sandwich. She was NOT kidding...Easily a 5-6 inch sandwich came out. The chowder was good as were the clam cakes, tartar sauce had just a bit too much dill for my personal liking. There are communal tables (stand up & sit down) available inside and as weather permits picnic tables outside (some in the shade, others with umbrellas). EXCELLENT. We went here after an event at the Dunkin/Amica Center. There are about 6 or 7 vendors here with plentiful seating. All very nice and our family sampled four different places - Pizza, Mexican, Fish and a burger place (There, There). There was also Indian, Mediterranean and maybe one other place. Track 15 also has a separate bar with wine, beer and drinks. Even though we ordered from 4 different places our food was ready within minutes of each other. Everyone enjoyed their meals and appreciated the variety at this location. We would definitely revisit when in Providence. read more

Updating my review after a second visit. I'll be honest, I had NO intention of returning here but my fiancé's family wanted to come for a Christmas get together. The cost of parking is still astronomical, even after validation. It was much easier to find a table and there were a few more vegan/gluten free options available. I want to give a particular shout out to Tolia at Track 15. Fantastic muhammara and lamb shawarma. If you've never had muhammara before, try it. It is a tasty blend of roasted red peppers, pomegranate molasses, nuts, garlic, olive oil and more. Very tasty, not spicy. This stall is the most exotic ethnicity offered at Track 15, so they could benefit from open minded diners. The entire Track 15 experience is great. The other stalls are luminaries in RI cuisine, the space is beautiful and I love that all meals are served on china, with silverware. You bring your tray to the table when your food is ready, but you just leave when you're done. They bus it for you. You get all drinks at a central bar. I think the Hall will be a huge success. I am happy to finally see a food hall in Providence! The food is really good and I highly recommend the fish sandwich at Dune Brothers. The staff was great and even helped recommend some food options. If they added some more water stations and a dessert vendor, I think this place could be great. The hall is clean but quite loud between the people talking and the music playing. It is also quite hard to walk from/to the mall considering it is so close and parking can be a bit of a hassle. read more

The space is wonderful, open, not overly crowded like some food halls can be. We tried 2 food stalls and enjoyed both. The Indian food was absolutely fantastic! Also got a burger, which was just fine but not a standout. Got a drink at the bar as well, which was also good. I work in the building above Track 15, so I've been anxiously waiting for the construction to be over and to get to enjoy it. I was especially eager to go after hearing that it would feature some of my favorite restaurants, including Dolores and Chaska, as well as others I'd heard good things about, such as Dune Brothers and Mother's Pizzeria. My husband and I stopped in for lunch and I got tacos from Dolores -- 1 each of chicken, pork, and beef. The beef, which came with spicy peppers, was my favorite, but they were all good. My husband got a lamb curry from Chaska, which he said was excellent. There were many nice touches, including pitchers of water at the bar, real plates and silverware, and people bussing tables. I'm looking forward to more lunches, drinks after work at the bar, and dinners here in this lively spot, and I can't wait for summer and the outdoor eating area! read more

So glad we got to go for their soft opening! My friend and I were greeted at the door with a smile and ushered in where we were then met with another smiling face who handed us our tickets and explained how it worked. We started at the bar, which was serving from all sides to help speed up service, and ordered our drinks. I started with a whiskey cocktail, and she a glass of wine. Both delicious. The design of the bar included a subtle nod to the spaces origins as a train station which I appreciated, and was excited to see they had partnered with a local distillery for branded gin and vodka. With drinks in hand we headed to get our food. I got a burger and fries from there there which was delicious (as to be expected). I'm a big fan of their location in the west end. My friend got Dolores; a taco and quesadilla, both of which were full of flavor. After our meal we meandered through the rest of the food hall checking out the other vendors and taking in the surroundings. It's a large space, but not overly cavernous thanks to well placed architectural elements, including arches, which again harks back to the train station that the space was previously. The hall has a wonderful selection of food options, catering to any palette, and plenty of seating to sit down and enjoy your meal. I will definitely be coming back to try the other spots! I would definitely say this spot is a success and a welcome addition to the Providence food scene. read more

What a great location and beautiful space right in center of PVD. The hall is beautiful. Bar was great. Cocktails were right priced and delicious. The pineapple/rum/lime (one of the signatures) was excellent. Old fashioned was good too. This will be a great go-to place when events are in town (including at AMICA Mutual Pavilion/convention center) or even pre-concert/theatre. Easy walking distance from all the downtown hotels too. Great variety of restaurants, predictably fast (counter service), and delicious. Great space. I hope they get a good lunch crowd, being so central in downtown PVD. We tried Tolia and Chaska. We enjoyed Chaska's shrimp curry dish the Best. (There, there : chopped wedge looked like a great size, and is in our list next time we visit). We enjoyed ability to try several restaurants we've wanted to try all in one place. We now plan to visit some of their home/original locations to experience their full menu. Dune Brothers blew us away! The lobster roll was absolutely amazing--perfectly buttery and packed with fresh lobster.
