I had a very disappointing experience at this grocery store. During my visit, the cashier was not only rude but also judgmental about my appearance. Instead of focusing on my purchase, they made snide remarks about my clothing and questioned whether I could afford my groceries. It was incredibly unprofessional and made me feel unwelcome as a customer. it show the cashier mental state and upper management skill and famillity with austin couture . This store is packed to the gills with wonderful values. The wide range of food options are impressive including meals, snacks, and beverages. Some of my favorite items are the brown rice/yellow lentil pasta which is packed with protein and fiber as well as their frozen shrimp burgers. The store is always packed and the parking is crazy so come early if you can. Most of the employees are helpful and friendly and check out is usually a breeze. read more

Trader Joe's the home of great snacks, smiles, and constant hawaiian shirts. What could go wrong? Nothing! Trader Joe's is always such a fun spot to visit to stock up. I know in the end it is a grocery store, but the overall consistent quality and the experience as well as the attitude of the workers just always makes feel welcome and want to come back. I'm always looking for any excuse to pick up cookie butter. Which is just one of the many unique snacks that Trader Joe's offers. I do love the stand out foods you can find as well, not something too often seen in a grocery. Service is also another knockout. Even throughout the pandemic, Trader Joe's really stepped up their game not just for the guests but the workers as well which is reassuring to hear. This location is always firing from all cylinders. I have never visited this location and had a bad experience. They always have the most gorgeous plants out front at a great value and it doesn't stop there! The floral and produce departments are the first things to catch your eye and they are absolutely breathtaking. So vibrant and fresh! The employees are simply the nicest people on planet earth. I know before COVID you could sample products just to see if you liked them or not but I'm not sure if that's still a policy. My favorite items are as follows: -Honey Aleppo Sauce -Buffalo Chicken Dip -Frozen Cauliflower Rice - Fresh Salmon - Rose Water - Green Goddess Seasoning And you have to go during the holidays (Yea, EVERY holiday) because their limited edition items are worth it. Any time I let someone know I have never been to Trader Joes I am immediately attacked with "are you crazy" or "you are missing out"! So, finally one Sunday morning I decided to finally see what the fuss was all about. Going on a Sunday was probably the biggest mistake. However, it does not take away from the fact that there were SO MANY people in this tiny little store at one time, I would assume the Fire Marshall would close it down for being over capacity. What made it worse was that the employees had huge boxes in the middle of the tiny isles so they could quickly restock. To add madness to mayhem half of the employees were just standing in the middle of the isles talking instead of stocking the isles while customers had to maneuver around them and other shoppers. My anxiety is kicking in thinking about my experience. The only pleasant part of my experience was how quickly I was able to pay and leave, that is only because an employee guided me to a register without a line. If anyone has advice on the best day to visit with no crowds I might come back, but if there is no such thing then I wont be back. read more

This visit was as pleasant as other Trader Joe's experiences. This location has parking that you can validate which is a plus, because you do not have to rush and be anxious and forget things you forgot to put on your shopping list. When you come in, a friendly staff member greats you at the door. There are wipes and hand sanitizer right next to the carts. There are thoughtful notes on new products or highlighted items. During a previous visit, I bought a yellow watermelon which had a mushy consistency. I had called ahead of time and was advised to bring my receipt on my next visit and I could either pick up a new watermelon or get a refund. I opted to get a new watermelon and it was delicious. I really appreciated this customer service. I also got a recommendation for a wine which really paired well with the salmon and cauliflower rice. I recommend taking a list, and not going in on an empty stomach because you will be tempted to buy and try all the delicious looking foods. The skincare products have also worked really well for me, especially the coconut lemongrass oil, the tear free face wash, and the Brazil nut body butter. Lastly, I loved that this location had partnered with an Autism initiative. I truly appreciate this as a teacher who has some special needs kiddos. read more

Nice grocery experience. We had one in near my house when I lived in Ohio and enjoyed them then. This is a new again to me shopping experience. I think they did a good covid job. It's smart of them to no longer allow outside shopping bags and they make folks wait in distanced line outside, managing the amount of folks inside. The food is nicely presented and although they have most everything it feels like a small store. The prices are very good but be aware that many items are sold in smaller size containers than some other stores. (That's sorta a good idea, so 3 year old gallon of mayonnaise is no longer found in my frig) Enjoy! read more

This was my first time coming to Trader Joe's. I have to say I love it! This isn't your average grocery store. If you are a foodie, this is definitely the place for you. They are doing a fantastic job of managing shoppers and maintaining a safe shopping environment. Early evening shopping allows for no waiting to get inside and an overall less busy store, however, some of their supplies are a bit low. Sadly, they are sold out of their "Scandinavian Swimmers", but have everything else on our list. Upon arrival, the sidewalk along the shopping center has X marks to indicate where to stand. Be warned, lines getting into TJs could be long. But, don't be discouraged, they do move fast. Crew members allow customers to go inside in groups. It looks like 5 out, 5 in. Upon reaching the front of the line, which is under a tent, a crew member dispenses hand sanitizer. Another crew member, individually, wipes down the carts. They also, now, provide, brown bags for your groceries (safety purposes). No need to bring your reusable bags. We did our shopping and when we were done debating how many varieties of chocolate snacks were necessary, we were shocked to discover it was pouring outside. They need to go ahead and build one of these bad boys in either Georgetown or Round Rock. I've lived in Texas for about 8 years now, and every so often I'd hear some hype about this place. I figured what could be better than H‑E‑B? Well, while H‑E‑B doesn't have anything to worry about, Trader Joe's has some pretty nifty stuff. What spurred my visit was trying some of their potstickers (gyoza) at a Halloween party. Immediately obsessed. I made the voyage from Gtown a few days later, and $70 later I had gyozas, gyoza sauce, cookie butter (even though I prefer creamy over crunchy), and some other stuff I probably had no business buying. I've had gyoza for lunch two days in a row this week, and I'm fixing to take another TJ trip today so that I can go ahead and stock up my deep freezer and add more chaos to my pantry. read more

Trade joes is my jam. Go on a Tuesday or Wednesday morning for a supreme shopping experience. The staff is always friendly here and it's got your typical TJ's atmosphere. We lived in Pasadena and actually went to the OG Trader Joe's and I really feel like they're living up to the vibe. Love their canned Mediterranean items, the yuzu hot sauce, green enchiladas, tofu black bean enchiladas (frozen), a ton of their frozen food, everything really. If you're new to Trader Joe's take your time and look at each item, you never know when you'll find a new favorite! read more

We love going to this Trader Joe's grocery store! It's worth the drive and we stock up on any necessities when we go. They have lots of vegan and gluten-free food which is awesome! Their gluten-free bagels are the best on the market! The vegan chorizo is banging! I also love their gluten-free cinnamon muffins! And they're sunflower seed butter and sunflower seed butter cups are amazing! The only downside is that during Covid there is a long line outside. We've waited 20-30 minutes before in line outside before getting into the store. But the good news is that they're taking Covid seriously! read more

To top off their excellent grocery selection, their employees are some of the most diligent and caring grocery store clerks I have ever encountered. Every TJ's trip bring promise of a full belly and a light heart. It is January 2nd, 2022, and the sunday afternoon grocery shoppers are out with a vengeance. Despite this location being a smaller store, the wilderness of the hungry and healthy is tamed to a mild, organized, focused group by the incredible employees at TJ's. The staff here is incredible and I cross town for this location although the downtown location is closer. Today, they helped me track down an impulse snack I purchased last week. Although the downtown location is technically closer to me, I usually prefer making the drive out here instead (because let's be real, southbound I-35 is no fun). Also, this store does not feel cramped like the other location, so it's a more relaxed shopping experience. They stock all the Trader Joe's staples, and even have a shelf by the samples corner featuring all their newest products. I really appreciate this, because I can see what's new all in one go, in case I don't have time for my usual detailed tour down every aisle. read more

The folks here are always so awesome and helpful. Lately Ahzkat (sp) has been helping me score my beloved cauliflower ghnocci. Everyone is always eager to help, ask me how my day is going and takes the time to have a conversation with you while ringing you up. The store is always clean and the prices are great! Parking spots are nice and wide so you don't have to worry about the pesky door dings. I like their vegan wines and a few from France. Perfect Bars are the cheapest I have found around the area. I've called a few times to see if they had certain things in stock before I make the 30 minute drive and they put me on hold and check, no attitude, super kind.... I've had to make a return before and it was hassle free. Lots of fun seasonal holiday items for decent prices! Pumpkin spice central. Trader Joe's is my favorite. Quite frankly, I want Trader Joe's to surpass the notoriety of Whole Foods as the brand new hippy dippy organic produce seller. The main reason why I love Trader Joe's is because the employees are always so friendly and so happy to help. I have never ran into an employee that couldn't put down what they were doing at the moment to point me to the right direction. Trader Joe's is even kid friendly because they give spot-Clover game that will keep little kids occupied Another plus is that a counter near the restrooms gives out samples on a rotating basis. While many of the samples aren't to my taste, free drinks are always nice. As for grocery shopping here, my favorite food to buy from Trader Joe's is their yogurt. Whole fat yogurt is so hard to find nowadays because of peoples' fear of being overweight. Milk fat has fallen victim to that mass paranoia unfortunately, so I appreciate Trader Joe's selling their large variety of Whole milk yogurt. If I could buy all my groceries from Trader Joe's, I would do so. Then I'd tell all my acquaintances to do the same thing as well. read more

I was so excited when they announced TJs was coming to ATX and that one would be in my neck of the woods! I go to TJs to get ingredients for a lot of my weekly frozen food, soup, and mixed salad items to make meals at home and the price point is usually par for the course! I also love the wine selection and $4 Chuck is still a steal (though this location is small, so the variety is not as good as other locations I have been to). My only complaint is that they tend to discontinue certain items at the drop of a hat, so don't get to attached to things (especially in their bread dept). I have also found that due to the horrific design of the parking lot for the shopping plaza here (I have seen so many near accidents because people drive like idiots and/or feel entitled to pull in/out of spaces w/o looking or cutting the exit line at the stop light on Great Hill Trl) and the size of this TJs location, unless I do my grocery shopping at certain times on certain days I am prone to "grocery store road rage" because it seems the ATX TJ shoppers rank a -2 on the courtesy scale. The cashiers at this location, however, are some of the friendliest I have ever come across in the TJs 'Verse! read more

It takes a while to figure Trader Joe's out, especially in Austin where we have so many top-shelf (pun-tended) choices. Here are the three top reasons I know of to shop there: #THREE: You like your wine but not what it does to your wallet. Trader Joe's "2 Buck Chuck" is serious value for your money and the rest of their wines are always reliably good. #TWO You are hopelessly addicted to something of theirs. I'll get in my car and drive 10 miles for any of the following: Chocolate covered cherries, choco chip cookies, truffled pate, steel cut frozen oatmeal, Pizza al Pollo Asado (now drooling on keyboard), extra extra good fair trade organic coffee choices. and the #ONE reason to shop at Trader Joe's: You just aren't a great cook or don't have the time to be one (or the money to shop on this level at Whole Foods) and you want to eat healthfully/deliciously. You also like to entertain but you're not much of a chef. Goodies like frozen lobster tails (just add butter and garlic and pop in the oven per package instructions) and pre-cooked baby lamb chops will add dazzle to your table and a sparkle in your guests eyes. read more

Trader Joes, you've made me the happiest woman alive. My grocery life is 1000% better with you now. Here is how I've lost 40+lbs and how TJ's is helping this Yelp foodie keep it OFF! $1.99 frozen chocolate bananas $1.99 dozen eggs $2.99 egg salad (120 cal, 14g protein, 2g carbs) $3.99-ish salads (220-350 cal) Cut up veggies, samples all the time, frozens are reasonably priced and never break the bank. I cannot believe I lived without one before you came to my hood. For the times that I am naughty, that wine selection $3-5 won't break the bank, pumpkins for $3 from Halloween season and desserts for when you are broke but still want to eat fancy but can't go out. I'm enjoying everything they offer. Finally, if you need bottled water, may I suggest the huge bottle of water for $0.50 that they have that keeps me hydrated all day when I need something that gigantic? The fact that you are in close proximity to that 24 hour fitness gym I frequent helps too. I'm sorry to betray my dearest HEB, Randalls, Sprouts and Whole Foods... it's just not the same. Plus associates at the store are the sweetest every time I check out or just have too many groceries to carry. I've had them come up to me with baskets so I can throw all the stuff I will buy into there so I am not walking around with groceries in my arms. P.S. I love that they also give me free paper bags and no judgement when I forget my own reusables. PPS. Since it's now Christmas time, the grocery bags are holiday themed and oh-so-festive. I moved from So. Cal, and almost every other city had a Trader Joe's in it. On one hand, I was happy to find they had one out here in Texas, but on other hand, I sad it is the ONLY one in the who Austin area. For me, it is 30 minutes each way. But, this last Sunday, I needed to go! I went to 3 stores looking for Mrs. Cubbinson's Stuffing, and nobody had it! I use the cornbread one, and Pettridge Farms is crumbs mostly, and did not want to use Stove Top or the local brand, as I did not know. But, I have used Trader Joe's before, and know their's is great, so make the trek. Upon arriving about 9:45 (15 min after opening)..already a line back to Pottery Barn, with little "X's" to stand on. Line moved fairly quickly. But, what is up with "spritzing" your hand with sanitizer....they are already there wiping down the carts! And lady at front door, looked like she was not happy. Once I got in, I sent my fiancee' to go get the dressing. Little did I know, they were almost out...the associate told him he got the last two boxes, and they were not restocking before Thanksgiving....WOW! Glad we got it, and glad we did not come later in the day...and feel bad for anyone that needed it the next few days! Shocked, they did not have more. They had plenty of gravy and stock at the end cap! Grabbed my sage and thyme, luckily they had those. Went to frozen aisle, and did not see any cheesecake. Asked associate, who did not look too happy to be there, if I was missing it. He said (almost like Eeyore), "No, we do not have any. Please come in here like mad people and buy up everything before the holiday...and we are not getting any more". WOW! I got in line to pay, and saw sign, once they associate has the cart and unloading, you have to stay behind the line until they are done, and THEN you can pay. Weird. I understand, they don't have the plexiglass, like grocery stores...but have been to restaurants and other stores with no plexiglass...we are all wearing masks! Again, cashier...not happy looking. Looks like he was just there. He did not even say "hello" to me, just grabbed my cart. Did not tell me to come forward, I just did so when I saw he was done. Then he handed me my receipt. I know it was a weekend before a holiday, and also during COVID everybody is on edge. But, the one thing I have always loved about any Trader Joe's I have ever been in, is usually they are a lot happier associates then most places, and usually very helpful. Not this location! And sad, only one in area. I walked out of there, and felt like I was intruding on their area or something. Weird! read more
