I really want to love Trader Joe's but I believe my CENTERVILLE (I stand corrected!) store has a serious "freezer temperature" problem. I had to return the formerly loved frozen Jasmine Rice because it made my family sick. It smelled wrong from the pick-up and was soft for something that was meant to be frozen. Should have gone with my instincts but hey, it's a trusted joint! I tried again with two different mac & cheeses...the "hatch chili" and the Crew favorite. Both tasted of "freezer burn" when cooked. I have been shopping on this store for like 6-7 years And I this never happened to me before, I try to buy some wine and beer when I got to the cashier I show her my ID " foreign government visa in my Peruvian passport " that is not expire and she refused to sell me the wine and beer I explain her that I have been shopping here for like 6-7 years and I'm a Tourist I come and go... she didn't care I told her that my visa in my passport is a valid government Id she didn't care I ask for the manager when she came she didn't see my passport and only told me :" I'm sorry that not an ID" guess what you should train ur workers and explain this: The ID must contain a photograph and signature and include the individual's height, weight and date of birth. Any one of the following constitutes a proper form of ID: a valid driver's license issued by any state in the United States or the District of Columbia; armed forces identification card; U.S. passport or "foreign government visa" valid special identification card issued by the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles; or any valid identification issued by any other federal or state government agency, excluding student university and college identification cards. read more

I was a little apprehensive before entering this Trader Joe's being new to the area and yes judging the book by its cover. The location is a little sketchy. I have only been to a few Trader Joe locations, but this one id definitely my favorite. Sometimes its hard to find a place to park, but if timed right, its not a large issue. In my opinion their prices are the most competitive compared to other stores, you get quality for much less than what you pay at those bigger chains *cough Whole Foods and Harris Teeter cough* I also like the quantity for most of their food items. The wine selection is amazing, the prices also. I have never had an unfriendly employee check me out at the register, everyone is super helpful and friendly! read more

What is not to love about Trader Joe's?!?!? This place is just amazing and I always seem to leave there with more than I came for, but I'm always happy. I love that they always have samples out and that's usually why I end up buying stuff that I didn't come to buy. The workers are always super friendly and seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs. I've been shopping here for a long time. Yes, you still need to go to Giant/Walmart for cleaning supplies but the selection of healthy food is great. The fruit is pretty descent, wide variety of meats, seafood, and desserts (what your little heart desires) . The last section of the store is where the wine is, this is my favorite section. You can buy a mid quality wine for 10 bucks (Yes, the $3.99 ones are just alright). They pretty much let you taste it on the weekends and sometimes on week nights. If your goal is eat healthy, this is the place to shop. I find prices to be reasonable and sometimes below Giant/Shoppers. The place is clean and organized. Yes, parking lot is crazy on Sat/Sun midday and the solution is to shop at night or on weeknights. Everyone there is friendly and will help you find what you want. read more

At first I was purchasing macarons from Tous Le Jour and Schila at 2 bucks each. Now I go to Trader Joes and get a dozen macarons for only 5 bucks and the quality, while not as great as the Tous le jours' macarons, are definitely still good enough. So I am giving Trader Joes 5 stars for their awesomely delicious macaroons at affordable prices compared to the competition. read more

The store was busy and customers seemed self absorbed, people didn't care that you were trying to get through the aisles or get around their cart parked in the middle of the small aisles. The floral selection is always amazing and offered at a great price point. Picked up our TG staples, frozen croissants, pane au chocolate, bread, olive oil popcorn with sea salt, cheese puffs, some veggies, cheese, cashew butter. I was actually looking for raw cashews and dried coconut strips but sadly I couldn't find either one of them. I don't know if I was just flustered by the other customers and missed them or if I just wasn't looking in the right place. Trader Joe's is definitely one of my favorite Grocery stores, I come here at least once a week! They have fresh fruits and veggies at a reasonable price. I love the premade salads and sandwiches for lunch. The Staff is super friendly and always helpful. My favorite thing is the variety of cheese's they have. Shout out to Sharon for all the excellent wine recommendations and recipes. Think of her as the Trader Joe's sommelier if you will. She is just one of the reasons I love this place. Others are the staff, the service, the dark chocolate, the pasta, the pineapple juice, the chips, the dip, the salsa, the mochi ice cream, the prices, the ... , the ... , the ... everything! And if you don't love it, they'll gladly take it back. My kitchen is an homage to Trader Joe's which I constantly fill and replenish with their products. Wasn't really sure what to expect since I haven't been inside a Trader Joe's in years. When I stepped inside I was really taken aback by how small this location seemed. Don't let this fool you, it is so organized that almost anything you could want is to be found somewhere inside. Impulse buyer that I am in grocery stores, this place takes the cake! So many interesting foods, snacks and drinks that I wanted to try them all. Everything looks fresh and appetizing. I had to use extra-special restraint near the prepared foods section. Employees here are also very friendly and helpful. I was given a peppermint treat to sample while perusing the aisles then later asked if I needed helping finding anything (probably because I looked lost amongst all the cheeses). The young lady behind the check-out counter was also very sweet and chatty. I look forward to returning here to give TJs another go! Also wouldn't mind hitting up another TJs location to have something to compare to. read more

Trader Joes has cheap prices but when you really pay attention the product is really cheap quality as well, you get what you pay for. my wife shops here for specific items, i go when she goes if we are together and pick up a few items i can only find there otherwise its not worth the drive for me. read more

I came here for the first time last week and I can't wait to go back! My mom and I bought whole wheat bagels, smoked salmon dip with capers, and a spinach and kale greek yogurt dip. The greek yogurt dip threw me off (it was my mom's choice) but I ended up loving it!! I'm not a fan of greek yogurt and but the dip doesn't even taste like it. I will most certainly re-purchase these items and some more. I will buy my bagels only from TJ's now, they are so soft and moist! Not like those thick ones where it's hard to bite off, but that's just my preference. It paired so well with the salmon dip, also. Love this place! I shop here at least once a week, and have NEVER had a bad experience. I think that says a lot about their customer service. Every single person that works there is very friendly and helpful. I love the fact that they have so many organic and natural products. Some of my favorite products include: organic sugar snap peas (delicious with hummus), broccoli slaw (a great pasta replacement), organic grass-fed 85% lean ground beef, unsweetened vanilla almond milk, frozen wild-caught salmon, frozen French green beans (you can bake with a little oil for 45-60 minutes for green bean "fries"), kale chips, organic cage-free eggs, and Kerrygold butter! They may not have as wide of a selection as other larger stores, but their customer service and interesting products makes it one of my favorite stores! read more

We've been shopping at TJ's for years, my husband jokingly says he bought his house to be close to one. Everyone at the store is very friendly and helpful, from longtime employee Meena to the managers. Even when my autistic son knocked over a tower of beer and it all came crashing down, bottles breaking and spilling all over the floor. I offered to pay for the whole thing but they refused and quickly went to clean up. The smell of beer permeated the place and whenever someone walked by they would comment on how good the place smelled and picked up a case. It was like one of those Curious George episodes where he gets into trouble but in the end everything works out. I think they ended up selling more cases with the beer spill LOL. read more

LOVE TRADER JOE'S!!! So happy to be living in an area again with a Trader Joe's (Yes there are places with NO Trader Joe's (Augusta, GA). This trader joe's is great. Upon entering you are greeted by beautiful, fresh, great priced flowers! A few more steps after the massive flower selection you come to the Bread Section. My family loves Tuscan Pane bread. I used to drive to Atlanta (2 hours away to stock up on the bread) I know crazy, right? Yesterday, I bought 10 loaves of bread. I will freeze most of it and we will take out a loaf at a time and my family will use it for toast in the morning as well as panini's and whatever else there little hearts desire. Trader Joe's has everything you need to feed your family... like a real grocery store... you can use all the isles and are not bombarded with 50 million isles of stuff you really dont want. So thank you Trader Joe's for keeping it real! Wine- the other reason why I would drive so far (actually I was going to the airport in Atlanta so I would do a side trip). If you entertain a lot or drink a lot of wine.... or both...or have a relative visiting for an extended period of time that likes to drink all your wine (that can add up...trust me) I think the Charles Shaw wine is a great deal and decent tasting too... @ 3.29 a bottle its a good thing!
