Trainwreck is a nice local place to pick up some bar food on a cold night! That is exactly what my husband and I did. We ordered some hot wings, fried pickles and 2 chicken sandwiches. The hot wings were yummy. The fried pickles were a little too doughy, but still really good. The pickles also came with a really awesome aoili spicy sauce that really knocks your socks off. I had the regular chicken sandwich, which was good. My husband had the chicken, gouda and bacon sandwich... he devoured the sandwich in minutes! We were there waiting for our takeout order and someone at the bar told us the chili was great. I guess next time I will be ordering the chili! read more

I have never had a bad experience here. In fact, I haven't even had a mediocre experience at the Trainwreck, I absolutely love the bison burger, especially with the pub cheese. Don't even get me started on the fries. The Trainwreck might have some of the best fries in the city. Been here many times and keep coming back. Menu includes grass fed local beef and bison as well. Burgers are exceptional and seasoned fries are d-lish. My salad had pimentos and artichoke hearts (very yummy). Outdoor seating is nice and there is a fun train that drives around the bar. read more

Having just landed from a flight, my colleagues and I were looking for a place to eat around 8pm . Located in the Westport Plaza is the this bar/restaurant. First the size and layout is excellent with plenty of room at all tables and televisions at every angle for the sports fan. The bar is quite extensive and has a great variety of beers on tap, both local and imported. (This is where Budweiser is from, so the selection was a nice option). We all ordered the 1/2 rack of ribs with onion rings as the appetizer. First the onion rings are huge. Six of them stacked are about a foot tall. So that is a meal in itself. For the ribs, they were an excellent balance of bbq flavor with charcoal grilling. The preparation was flawless and the portions generous. Lastly, the pricing was amazing, for 3 people with drinks, it was a $46 bill. Excellent for a family dinner location. read more

Trainwreck makes my absolute favorite burger. I get it cooked medium with soft cheddar. They always cook it properly, pink in the center and serve it on a fresh bun that had a good crusty yet chewy quality to it. The soft cheddar is tangy and creamy, in my opinion they could get away with piling more on! Seasoned fries are served with my favorite burger and those are to die for. You can ask for extra and they'll bring out a shaker of the 'not too spicy' blend of seasonings. The service is always great here. Servers work hard and are friendly. I come here about once a month for a solo lunch and always enjoy my stay. read more

I had not been to the Rock Hill Trainwreck in years but last weekend just really wanted a good burger. So I stopped in mid afternoon and was not disappointed. I came in and sat at the bar. Amanda was working and she was super nice and chatty. We had a good conversation. And I got the cheddar bacon burger and it was seriously to die for. The mayonnaise based potato salad was some of the best I have ever had too. They have a pretty big menu and lots of burger choices. I don't know if this place makes it onto any Best of lists for burgers but if not, it should. read more

I hit up Trainwreck for lunch with some locals. It is a typical sports/dive bar in quality and atmosphere. If you've ever been to a place with a neon Bud Light sign, then you've probably been here. The food was decent, and the service was tolerable... but I couldn't get past the grungy look of everything, like a place that had been smoked in for years. Went there yesterday for lunch . The Da bomb burger is the Da bomb. It was delicious with pickle chips and Brie cheese and few other amazing toppings . Tons of flavor. I asked for fries without salt, they made them with salt but upon request they made a fresh batch so no worries. If you go here, make sure you sign your OWN name on the waiting list -- otherwise you will stand there for at least 15 minutes completely unnoticed while servers, hostess and managers walk by without saying a word. Consistent , reliable bar food in a great location. Grabbing dinner there first week of December 2012, I had wings and bison burger with the crew. I guess the new issue for us is the balance of diners with younger kids and the new shuffleboard device, that spans the front bar area. I support local business all the way, but this addition seems well intoned but a fail. First, in dinner hour, folks awaiting seating with hungry kids, gravitated to the table game. And as it sits very low, and runs the entire west wall almost, it's a total magnet for the kids. And if I was a weary parent with kids in tow, I would let the, throw the puck and woop it up. But, with Six and ten year olds screaming as we ate, and no other tables ready..we were trapped. The table is nice I suppose but if I was hoping to draw patrons and maximize revenue, I would weigh out the lost seating and the minimal cash flow such a huge device might generate. I can't believe the servers recoup much tip income from the lost seats that vanished with this addition. That and a very hearty air conditioner that blows over the front bar tables and diners, means we will seriously debate a night time return. Overall the foods really good, the servers are prompt and friendly and I am torn on the need for the shuffleboard.,not sure who they expect to sit adjacent to frenzied kids, and arctic air in December...I guess my mistake for skipping a hooded sweatshirt and earplugs.. But these minor matters are easily adjusted if the management ever gets serious about details and acoustics. One star for front bar ambience...but get the bison ...and a cold beer ..and sit way away from the babysitting crowd...actually..now that I think about it..our other time in the way back was derailed with screaming kids and too many balloons...again..this is an imperfect world..and I support parents and businesses...ugh.. I just moved into st. louis, a co-worker said i might want to check this place out, I however went to the wrong 1, never been so happy to make a mistake before. The bartender who I think his name was JIm (tues night guy), He was great, i asked a few questions about what to do, where to go etc. This guy knows whats going on in town; gave me places to go and try, and what to have at some of them, don't know why this guy is so skinny if he eats at the places he told me to go. I must have gained 50 lbs at the ice cream place, some of my co-workers hadn't been there, they were impressed i knew some places they didn't. Only had a buger and a few drinks, this time, but plan on going back more and try some of the other thing Jim suggested from the menu. He knows how to work a bar too, never had to ask for a drink, he was right there to see if i wanted another and the rest of the people at the bar needed another. I've been to places you almost have to beg for a drink, not here!!! real cool bar. went tonite (Wednesday) nite. this was the only bar busy in all of westpoint village. just had beer (PBR on tap!!), so can't vouch for the mixed drinks. band was pretty good, played some dope covers by STP, Def Leppard, Jack Johnson....and Neil Diamond!!! we'll be back. should mention, that as we were leaving, Pujols (yes, owned by Albert Pujols of the Cardinals), Ozzie's (also of Cardinal fame) and the other bars were EMPTY. A group of about 10-12 decided to try this place for happy hour. Several of the people in our party were smokers so we sat outside in the unseasonably warm weather. It was spitting rain, but there was a roofed gazebo we were sitting under so no worries. The smokers would go out of the gazebo to smoke as they were told this was the rule. The waitress was just, off, somehow. She wasn't very friendly and seemed overwhelmed and confused by simple requests like, "Can I see a menu?" About 30 minutes in, she came out and said the forecast was calling for storms and lightening and would we mind moving inside, but we didn't have to hurry, we could finish eating. Several of us had ordered food and about half of us were eating under the covered gazebo. We said, no problem, and continued on. About 10 minutes later as we were finishing up, she came out again and said she was getting off her shift and did we want to close out with her or transfer our tickets to another server? We all said we would close out so that she could get the tip money. She split our bill up, ran our cards and brought them back. During this time, she also delivered another food order to us outside. By this time, the sky is clearing and looking like the weather had passed by. Another 10 minutes go by and she says, "My manger is about to come out here and be really rude to you if you don't go inside." We responded by saying, "If that's his plan, then that's a really bad idea." She went back in and immediately the male manager/bartender came out and YELLED, "You have to come inside now, our insurance won't cover you being out here." He was incredibly rude. Since we had all just closed our original tabs anyway, we all left and went to another bar. I will never go back. The wings were overcooked and salty (the trainwreck style wings) and the service went from being sub-par to just flat out rude. There are a thousand different ways to handle this, the easiest would have been when that last food order was up, the waitress (or whoever our new server was going to be) could have said, "Would you like me to get a table set up for you guys inside for when your food comes out? " With a group of 10-12, a little assistance figuring out where to relocate would have made everyone's life a lot easier. Instead they lost a group of folks who are looking for a new happy hour venue, spend lots of $$, and drink all evening. To top it all off, most of us are former service industry folks. New to the area so we decided to go here because it's within walking distance. As soon as we walked in, we started getting snotty looks from everyone in the bar - patrons and staff. There were only about 15 other people there and it was only 10:15. We approached the bartender and asked about the patio which she said was open so we headed outside. We were greeted by a disgruntled bartender who didn't even seem to want to serve us. We asked her when they were closing and she just "soon" without looking at us. For bar food, a home run! Based on many experiences, I can wholeheartedly recommend! The burgers are great, but I love the honey Dijon chicken and sweet potato fries. Just ridiculous. The train wreck is a consistent gem. I love the fact that the kitchen is open late, I think till ten. I either have the cheeseburger or the redbird.
