I ordered the bison burger with American cheese and seasoned French fries. Bison meat is lean so it needs cheese to help elevate the flavors. The burger was cooked perfectly. The bison meat needed more seasoning besides the slice of American cheese. The seasoned french fries are delicious. What would make the fries even better is if they are served hot. So often restaurants don't execute this part of the meal. Turn up the warmer on the fries. I got excellent service from Cindy. She was busy and this can fluster people but Cindy was very personable and friendly. The vibe of the restaurant is chill and friendly.

Went here on a hot summer day to watch the Cardinals game. Televisions throughout the restaurant so a good place to go to watch any sporting event. Waiter was nice and made sure we were well taken care of. Should definitely try the wreck wings. Portions were big so come hungry! Plenty of parking in their side lot

Good food and service! Décor has lots of wood, wooden wall panels, wooden booth, tables and chairs. Several seating options available: high tops in the bar area, tables and booths in the dining room, and outdoor. Menu offers soup, salad, wraps, sandwiches, fried fish, shrimp basket, salmon and burgers (regular, grass fed, and bison). Amberbock (bottle) $4.75 Wreck Wings (8) - $13.50 - Double fried wings, crispy on the inside, very tasty. Tavern grassfed burger $15.50 - Delicious juicy burger. Side upgrade to Tater Tots $3 - Crispy tots. .|\---/| | @_@ | ..\_^_/..2024

A nice little place for bar food. When you enter, you enter through the bar. Then go through another section where the staff work, but there are about nine tables in this area. Unfortunately, we were sat in this area. It was in the evening, it was really loud being so close to the staff station and pretty dark in this area. They did have more seating on back as well as a great patio seating for nice weather. I ordered the Gouda bacon burger. It was OK. A little bit dry and not much cheese on it. I ordered seasoned fries with it. They were good fries with just a little bit of seasoning, not too overpowering. My husband ordered the Cuban sandwich and he said it was pretty good. I have ordered their wings here before and they are delicious. Would highly recommend these.

Strong Iced tea. Crisp, 'wrecked wings are great my personal tastes would've preferred a different sauce/slightly less crisp/not sure/ but that's on me not them. My Cuban sandwich was decent, but not great, my Cuban standards are high. Wife was extremely complementary about her sandwich though. Food was hot, people kind and warm, tea was cold and strong.

First off the service was outstanding here. Our waitress was attentive and informative. The chocolate covered cherry martini was awesome. I had the fredbird grilled chicken, with hot sauce and a white sauce that was awesome. My only complaint would be the bottom bun was soggy. I had a side house salad with proven and a balsamic vinaigrette and it was great. Prices very reasonable and the atmosphere was great, hockey game was on.

Good drink prices and a buffalo head on the wall. They'll even put a tv together right in front of you! Bar staff was fun and attentive.

A casual vibe, great place for beer and a group happy hour…read more Every time I come here I am amazed at how much fun it is and what a great draft selection they have. Walk in and there are plenty of tables, a couple of gathering areas, standing room narrow tables, an outdoor area, and a room off to the side. I went for the Logboat Dark Matter which I have had before in a can and wanted to try on draft. I enjoyed it very much. You know what is great?! Since they don't have food, you can bring it in yourself. Both times our group has met up here Katie's Pizza is the choice and its in the same parking lot. You can't go wrong with Katie's. Bartender is on the ball and friendly, TV's all around, not too loud so you can talk. Wednesday nights they have Trivia and I stayed for the first round, it was very current for the current event category. Get a pizza from Katie's, go here, have a beer, have fun!

++++ food ++++ family atmosphere…read more The food here is delicious! I ended up getting the LW burger with pub cheese and it came with shoe string fries, the burger was thick and juicy, while the shoe string fries with garlic aioli as my sauce was, perfect! This is a pretty good family atmosphere, they have high top tables but also had high top high chairs! A real positive in our book, haven't ran into many restaurants that have this option. I would suggest if you have little ones to order your food when they take your drinks because the service can be hit or miss depending on the time you go, and food can take a little longer than expected. So get the little ones ordered in first and then decide on the adults.

I only saw two high top tables for two people and they were in corners. So we sat in a corner on backless stools. Stools in restaurants should have backs!Pretty uncomfortable and we won't do that again. It also has really high ceilings so it got pretty loud in there. Our server was Erin and she was good! The place was packed inside and outside (in the rain - there were umbrellas over the tables) so the staff was super busy. She kept the drinks and food coming at a good pace. We started off with drinks and onion rings. We had been told how good the onion rings were so we had to order them - they lived up to the hype! I'm not a beer drinker, but my husband is. He had three different ones and didn't really enjoy any of them. He tried Tidewater Plains, Master of the Universe, and Batholith. I had a Jungleberg cocktail and liked it so much, I ordered another one. The server said they were out of them. There were five ingredients in the drink so I have no idea what they were out of. I ordered a Spicy Ancho Margarita and it was okay. It shouldn't be called spicy, because it is not. I ordered Chicken Wings and Onion Soup. Yes, it was summer. But it was cold and rainy and soup sounded good! The soup was very good - very cheesy and they didn't put a chunk of bread in there to get all soggy, which I appreciated. The wings were okay. They were way too saucy for me. My husband got the Philly and said it was okay, but nothing special. I would have probably given 3.5 stars, but that is not an option. I'd go back for the onion rings!

Pescatarian Verdict: #stlouispescatarianapproved…read more Sportsman's Park has been part of the city forever. The restaurant opened in 1974 as Jackie's Place, founded by NFL Hall of Famer Jackie Smith and Norman Probstein. In 1980, it was renamed Sportsman's Park after the legendary St. Louis ballpark that was once home to both the Cardinals and Browns. I was there with two friends for a little patio lunch, and I ordered the strawberry and spinach salad with salmon. And yes, #StLouisPescatarianApproved. The salad has spinach, strawberries, almonds, Mandarin oranges, bleu cheese and I subbed honey mustard dressing. Add salmon and suddenly lunch is doing exactly what lunch is supposed to do. It's very much a neighborhood institution, where people have been coming for decades and now bring their kids. Sometimes you don't need the newest restaurant in town. Sometimes you need a classic, a patio, a salad with salmon and three people who are perfectly happy to sit around and talk about food.

Food: 4 Stars Service: 1 Star…read moreAmbiance: 4 Stars I've been here a few times and each time the food options have been solid. Good bar selection, solid portions, and full of taste. I wouldn't say anything is out of the world, but great for a bar. Ambiance is just what you'd expect out of a neighborhood bar...cozy and warm. Each time, the service has been poor and the wait has been long. I finally decided to write a review after my experience yesterday. I sat at the bar with a couple buddies. Three servers (including the bartender) sat at a table chit-chatting while we waited for several minutes. Finally, the bartender came around and instead of acknowledging us, she continued chatting in the corner very close to us. We had to get her attention to order and she was clearly in a bad mood. Throughout our time there, we had to keep getting her attention without her making any real attempt at actual service. On top of that, we overheard her complaining about low tips and that one way or another she would get her money. In the end, she got one of our orders wrong and added an extra drink to the check which I wonder if that was the result of the comment we overheard. My poor service experiences at Sportsman's combined with those of many other Yelpers makes me also start wondering about the quality of the kitchen...if the front of the house doesn't care why should the back of the house?

He was great, I hadn't asked for no cheese and didn't realize the potatoes came that way.
