If you love seafood then this is the spot for you. Their menu is full of mostly seafood with a few meat options. I'm not a big seafood person but my husband is and he loved everything we ordered. His favorites were the conch papaya salad, escargot, and razor clams. I ordered two different beef noodle dishes and I enjoyed both. The server was friendly and attentive. The restaurant is large and holds events like weddings.

This restaurant has been around for a while. It was Ly's Garden many many years back when my cousin had her wedding, but every restaurant in this space has kept the banquet style for weddings and event booking because it has a stage and a dance floor. It was my first time attending a wedding at this venue under Tram Chim. The first and original location is in OC. It was a wedding of 22 tables so they were able to rent out part of the space, leaving the other side for the public to dine. The food was actually not bad. The bride's mom upgraded to get the best of the best. The quality was good but the portions were small not compared to other venues serving 10 people because everyone literally had one scoop of fried rice compared to other venues where we each get a bowl. Each dish only took a spoonful to serve per person. The tables also didn't have a lazy Susan. Was inconvenient to grab food. One of our wine glasses was fully cracked and that was somehow missed when they were setting the tables. Plenty of staff standing around when you need them. Our ice bucket was replenished often, there's a cash bar for simple drinks like straight up liquor. The venue is already lightly decorated so you didn't have to do much other than add your touch of flowers. The black lighted drapes looked like stars in the photo. Overall, this was a great venue to consider if you're having a wedding/event. Especially when it's a large parking lot for guests. They have two entrances to separate for the public and for event guests.

Do not judge the book by its cover fits this place perfectly. This restaurant is located in an old plaza that doesn't have other businesses open. The interior is decorated to look like you're going to an Asian wedding. The menu is very disorganized as each menu has different items. Cash ONLY. Friendly service. Don't come here wanting the common standard vietnamese food, they are more of partying/drinking food you get in Vietnam. We got escargot, conch, deer, and fried rice. I actually didn't expect the food to be good but it was surprisingly good. The pineapple fried rice was filled with variety of seafood such as squid, fishcakes, shrimp, etc. They also covered it with pork floss which is very different but it works. Deer was like high quality BBQ pork. It was soooo tender and I love the sauce that it came with as well as the pickled veggies. Escargot was just as good as any of those popular restaurants but cheaper. It was plump and has good flavor. Finally, the conch dish was also good. It was a little tough but still good. Overall, definitely a true vietnamese style restaurant and good for parties

I took my daughter's grandmother here for her early birthday celebration for dinner today. They had a wedding event; there was no room inside the restaurant so they set tables outside on the sidewalk for guests that is not attending the wedding. We had no canopy even though it rained throughout today. Strike one... But she insisted on eating here. She ordered for all of us. We had the mango salad topped with squid, sea food hot pot, fried rice and beef broccoli (for my kiddo, she doesn't eat sea food). Mango salad with squid was a great start, crunchy and flavorful. Sea food hot pot was Tom yum style, lacked flavor in my opinion but everyone liked it. The cabbage for the hot pot soup was old and bad. I can't believe they cut it up and brought it out for us. They should had thought to themselves I wouldn't serve this for myself or family. It was horrible. The Fried rice was bland with a hint of garlic. We had to ask them about our beef broccoli; it didn't come out with the others. When we received it, she took one bite and it was BLUE RAW! Red uncooked meat. Strike two. I told them to box it up (was planning to take it home and cook it myself) By this time I was irritated and annoyed of the staff because they were not attentive to our table. I get it, it was a event going on but we should feel welcome especially if I'm going to be spending my hard earned money. Strike 3. I never wanted to leave a restaurant so fast but I was respectful to my kiddo's grandmother of her wishes to celebrate here. I am not coming here ever again. First and last experience. This place used to be Lee Garden. It was sooo good back then. They had family style menu for such a great price and I always go home with leftovers. They had great staff at that time too. It was a much nicer atmosphere.

This place actually opens at 11am, not 10 am. We arrived there 10:30 and had to wait for 30 minutes. Just looking at the place from outside we were weary about dining here but once we got inside the place didn't look too bad. We were the first ones there but it took a while to get food ordered but everything went okay. The main reason I wanted to come here to try their razor clams. My husband and I shared razor clams, fried rice , grilled scallops, grilled squid, and beef with broccoli. The razor clams tasted good but a little chewy. The fried rice with shrimp was very good. Scallops were okay. My husband liked the grilled squid but I did not care for it. It had good flavor but was chewy and had cartilage inside. Beef and broccoli was good. Excellent service. 3 stars for food and 5 stars for service.

This is a review for both food and music venue, the restaurant used to go by a different name of Ly's Garden but since has been changed to Tram Chim under new management and that's when they added a big stage with DJ, live music and ballroom dancing. To be honest the lightings and sound were perfect, it kept people going, and just the different set up made the place bigger, more tables equal more money. The disadvantage they had was parking, even if they took over the grocery store next door, it wasn't enough to accommodate the large amount of people for a concert. As a headline performer of the night like my brother, the management was a bit lacking, they didn't communicate with him at all until the last minute, they ended up Uber him to the venue, then sneaked him thru the back. Secondly, their holding was also unorganized as they were not an actual green room, but only partial employees break area plus kitchen storage and I did see a mattress so someone obviously living behind the restaurant, I felt a little unprofessional on their end. But to make for that, they did treat the artists nicely, feeding them with a lot of food from the restaurant which I think all of them tasted great, they even packed to go for us. Just a note for next time, please tighten your security because a lot of drunk customers sneaked backstage and helping themselves with artists food and also making the talents felt uncomfortable.

My mom really wanted to try this place ever since Ly's garden closed and Tram Chi opened only because it was something new. I'll be honest this place did okay I'm regards of the food.. I was expecting this to be overall terrible based on the reviews. Would I come back here though? Probably not. First off, their specialty is seafood.. so the interior had lots of tanks. It's not the best looking restaurant.. and I'm not sure why they didn't just keep the previous decor from Ly's but that's their prerogative. Service. Pretty lame that this place is CASH ONLY. When we came here it was surprisingly busy cause us Asian gotta have inexpensive seafood lol.. there were only 2 servers and so the customer service really lacked. Food came out pretty slow but not slow enough for my parents to wave down the servers lol. Food was good. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great. Cheap prices though for the non seafood stuff compared to other restaurants. Bo luc lac was $10 oppose to your $15+. Not bad, but I wouldn't come back.

We tried this place because we were lazy to go up to Oc, Garden grove. They just reopened after pandemic and gave us great deals. The seafood was comparable to Oc & Lau, we ordered like 8 dishes it all really tasted so good! I'm definitely going back!

Came here around 4:00 PM-ish today after had a smoothies @ the Happy-time Tea nearby. Line: no as usual, so I got the table right after I walked into the restaurant. I was the only customer from 4:00 PM-ish to nearly 6:00 PM. Staffs: inattentive as usual. Food: Today, I ordered: -Canadian Whelk (Grilled with pepper sauce - ($12.99 + tax)): the dish had 10 small Canadian Whelk, I could only get 1/2 of the meat since it wasn't fresh today. -Manila Clam (steam style - $9.99 + tax)): the dish had 16 small clams, 2 of them were closed completely. Other 14 small clams had only a tiny meat with the size of 2 tips of bamboo chopsticks. The price total was $25.00 (Learned that they overcharged the sale tax, but did not bother to talk to them! The sale tax in this area should be 7.75% only). To consumers - -Be aware of your bill on a sale tax if you ever dine here!!! -They only accept CASH ONLY!

There was plenty of parking once we found it. It's a bright blue food truck serving up fresh Mexican seafood and tacos, with a shaded tent area for seating. Each table has salsas and condiments which I loved. The workers here are amazing. Super friendly and welcoming. We ordered two tacos, cabeza and adobada, along with the aguachile verde tostada. This surprisingly was enough for two people. While waiting, we grabbed some salsas. They keep them on ice so they stay fresh and cold which was such a nice touch. They told us we could bring the whole bottle to the table, but we just used small cups. My favorite was the orange creamy salsa. It had a slight chipotle flavor but was pretty mild and perfect with the chips. They also gave us complimentary soup while we waited which was a nice surprise. Both tacos were incredible. The tortillas were warm and held a generous amount of meat. The cabeza was super tender, flavorful, and nicely salted. The adobada was juicy with a smoky, slightly spicy flavor. At $3.50 each, they felt very worth it. The real standout was the aguachile verde tostada. It had raw shrimp in a bright, spicy green sauce with thin sliced red onions. Every bite was fresh, citrusy, and packed with flavor. By the end, the tostada soaked up all the sauce which made it messy in the best way. If you're into that slightly soggy tostada texture, it honestly adds to the experience. We couldn't stop thinking about this place the whole drive home. Definitely coming back!

I wasn't even planning on getting mariscos that day but it felt like a sign so I took it as a little treat. It's a food truck setup with folding tables and chairs and a pretty big parking lot since the plaza itself is kind of dead. Parking was easy and there was plenty of space. I walked up and they were doing construction on the tent right above where you order and it was really loud. I feel like that could've been done during closing because it disrupted the vibe. The area is already a little rough so it just made things feel a bit off. The lady working was super sweet. She took my order, you pay right after and they do accept tap to pay which I love because I don't carry cash. They take your name and call you when it's ready. I got mine to go, waited about 10 minutes, and everything came out pretty quick. They packaged everything really well too which I appreciated because aguachile can easily spill. For the tostada they gave two packs of saltines and three tostadas which felt like a good portion. They also had fresh salsas at the truck but I skipped them since my taco already came with sauce. I ordered a fish taco and an aguachile verde tostada. I went home excited to try everything but honestly it didn't really hit for me. The fish taco was a good size with a lot of cabbage and a white sauce, but the fish was a little too soft. I wish it had more crisp and overall the flavors just weren't memorable. It's about $3.70 so fair, just nothing standout. The aguachile verde was the weakest part. Some shrimp textures were off and a few had a strange aftertaste. I've had a lot of aguachile recently and this was probably the lowest quality. I will say they were generous with the avocado and the sauce itself had a nice spicy kick, it just didn't come together overall. There was also an earthy note from the seeds that was very prominent which I have never experienced in aguach For the price, I paid around $20 with tip for both which isn't bad for the portions. It satisfied the craving in the moment but not somewhere I'd go out of my way to come back to.

Incredibly tasty and can last as 4 meals between 2 people, the portion is HUGE! Not too salty at all but so addictive. Lastly, their aguachile is a must! This is easily one of the best buffets in San Diego. The quality of the food is outstanding, and…read morethey offer an amazing selection of fresh sashimi and sushi. It's absolutely worth the price. After eating here, you'll find yourself comparing every other buffet to it and most won't even come close. This place definitely raises the bar. Highly recommend!

Came on a Thursday for the first time. It happened to be lobster night, which was more costly than…read morethe other nights. Arrived around 5:15pm, and there wasn't a line, but the restaurant had a good amount of diners. Pretty good ventilation at the front of the restaurant, but the back part of the restaurant, likely the overflow room was where my family and I were seated. It had a funky smell to the area and there was poor ventilation. I wanted to step out but I refrained. Everything felt stuffy in that section. The only nice person was the male staff member at the front for checkin. The rest of the staff were not very friendly. The hostess who walked us to our table was not very friendly and just rushed things. Took our drink orders, and didn't say much. Just walked off. I was surprised to see the pitchers with the beverages were sitting on top of a counter outside where customers are, without any lids. Anyone can just walk by and touch or spit in them. Thought that was not very hygienic... Different sections of food. I never expect food at buffets to be of good quality or taste excellent, so the food items were all mediocre. The teppanyaki grill was... well, let's just say they use the same spatula for everyone's entreés. You load up your plate and the cook throws everything on the grill. Uses the same spatulas to cook everyone's food. If you have allergies or sensitivity to spice, then probably avoid this section. He cooked the meat for someone else's plate and then touched the veggies for the other. Used mod spice level sauce for one, and then same spatula on my entreé. My order was non-spicy, but it had a kick since the neighboring sauce got onto my stir fry. Dessert section isn't even labeled.... meaning, the baked/dessert items aren't labeled other than the gelato flavors. Crab legs were very salty. Lobster claws in the cold section were OK though. The warm lobster they serve is limited to 1 per person per serving. Long line, and if they run out, you have to wait or return when they serve again. People were waiting in line while eating their food... the lobsters are tiny, dry, and with very little meat. It is definitely not worth paying the extra for lobster night. The amount of waiting time is ridiculous and there is no guarantee that you can even get a lobster. Some groups have 1 person waiting in line and then when it is their turn, the rest of the group members (5-7) cut the whole line to each get a lobster. I was trying to get 1 for my mother, and I didn't get to eat one, but didn't mind since it didn't even look good. Rest of the foods were mediocre too. I had 1 plate that wasn't even full... lost my appetite. Wouldn't return. Hygiene.... cross contamination... Some people say this place is like the old Pala casino buffet or Las Vegas buffet- definitely not the case. Parking can be compact. Gets busy around 5:45p it seems as more people were waiting in the lobby.
